Get every user to see ONLY its own created variants

Our system is being accessed by different users.
When executing reports, users save their own variants into the system. However, we would like to restrict the access from all users to all saved variants. The goal is to get every user to see ONLY its own created variants.
I believe there is an user-exit that combined with some access controls can provide us with this functionality. Do you know if it is possible? and if the user-exit really exists?. Do you know the user-exit name?.

If there is a user exit, you would have to apply this to all of the reports and programs.
This is probably a bigger task than getting the users to change their variants to a single entry.

I have a simple generated application. I logged the user in the DB-table who has created the row. Now I want that all users can see all entries of the table (blackboard) and can create new entries, but the user can update only his own entries.
Ideally he sees the Edit-Icon on the report only with the rows he created and he has the right to update.

    from EMP Of course you want the edit page to check if the user requesting the page should be able to update the row corresponding to the primary key value passed in, just in case someone tampers with the URL and goes to the edit page directly. You could use an authorization scheme for that.

Hello OIM Experts,
How to prevent certain users to see only resource objects request-able based on their user profile
Employees :
Employee A: Finance staff
Employee B: IT staff
Resource Objects :
Resource Object 1 : Oracle E business suite
Resource Object 2 : Payment Gateway
Resource Object 3 : Server X
Resource Object 4 - 10 : Customer Service Applications.
Expected :
Employee A only see and able to request Resource Object 1 & Resource Object 2, while employee B only see and able to request Resource Object 3.
And they are not able to see and request Resource Object 4 - 10.
Can that be done, if so please suggest some ways, appreciate the help.

Hey, you can do this through Organizations. Follow the following steps:
1) Create an Organization say 'Finance Staff' and put all the users for this category in this organization.
2) In the similar fashion create another Organization say 'IT staff' and put all the users for this category in this organization.
3) Now open Organization details for above two and select the 'Permitted Resources' drop down frm additional details.
4) Assign the resources as per your requirements for these two oragnizations.
Finance Staff -> 'Permitted Resources' -> 'Oracle E business suite' and 'Payment Gateway'
IT Staff -> 'Permitted Resources' -> 'Server X' and '10 : Customer Service Applications'
5) Also remember to de-select the 'Allow All' check box in the respective resources above to discourage everyone from requesting and making a decision for allowing the user to create requests through organizations.
You are done.

Is there anyway to restrict the users to see only the Materials belonging to that particular plant.
Generally, User can see all the Materials(Materilas extended to all the Plants).
We had a requirement that the User should not see Materials extended to all the Plants.
He should be able to see only the Materials extended to that particular plant user belongs to.

Hi Sunil,
You may have to modify the search help to restrict the O/P list for services product category.
At one of our early implementations,for the product search in the link "Internal Goods/Services,we modified the search help "BBPH_PRODUCT".We attached a custom function module exit to this search help in which the logic was written for retrieving the products based on plant .May be you can think of something similar.

Grant privileges to the user to edit only his own information

my Portal version is 9.0.4.0.99
I would like to grant to all users the privilege to change/edit only his own information.
When I go to the Administer Tab, enter the username in the portlet User, and then I check the checkbox: "Allow User editing", then this User can edit all users.
How can I grant the privilege to edit only his own information?

The Portal does not expose the DAS Edit My Profile link until version 10.1.4. Prior to this version, if the associated DAS actually supports this, you can just add the link on your portal page as a URL item:

Can't get mysql admin tool runs on its own schedule for backup

I'm trying to schedule a daily backup of all of my databases. It looks as if I have everything configured correctly within MySQL Admin tool, however the backup job never runs. The backup WILL execute if I click the "Execute Backup Now" button. I can't seem to get it to run on its own.
i have Mac OS X 10.4 and mysql 5.0.45
Any suggestions?

New Jabber user cannot see (only) one of the added buddies

Running ichat server, just a handful of OD users. OD is on the same machine as Ichat server. Nothing is limiting the use of Ichat by any of the OD users. Server G5 10.4.9, Clients managed Intel Imacs 10.4.9
Added a new user.
New user can add buddies in the Jabber List.
New user can see all but 1 of them in the List.
One of the buddies, lets say UserX, can see the new user in her Jabber List.
No matter what we have tried from within Ichat the new user cannot see UserX.
Both users are members of the same groups and have matching access abilities.
Any suggestions. Thanks for looking at this.

If I understand it this correctly, 'new user' can see all other buddies except one. And all the other users can see this buddy.
Lets call the new user "userX" and the one they cannot see "userY" and lets call your ichat server "jabber.myserver.com"
The configuration files for users buddylist is stored in the spool di rectorywhich you can find at /var/jabber/spool/. In there you will find a directory the matches the name of your ichat server. For me that is jabber.clayford.com. In this directory you will find one xml file for eash user of ichat server. Their file name is the OD logon name for the server.
Stop the ichat server service and make back up of any files you edit before you start.
Open the file for "userX.xml" In this file you will see some xml code that starts <item jid='[email protected]' subscription='xxxxxx'>. there will be a number of them, one for each buddy.
Mke sure the xxxxxx is the word 'both' [with the quotes] and if the text ask='subscribe' exists in that line before the >,remove it. So that definition should now be: <item jid='[email protected]' subscription='both'>.
Save the file and now open the file userY.xml and check that the item <item jid='[email protected]' subscription='both'> exists.
Restart the ichat server and the problem should be fixed...

Create Roles to allow users to see only what they have to see

I created a Menu using Forms 6i and I would like to know the steps to create a role and then assign those roles to my menu so users can only see the programs they use and not what the administrators are going to be using like some options under one of my menu called maintenance.

So you mean that I have to open Module Roles under Menu Security and write a name for each role on that small window that appear? For example I want a role to be called SHOW_MENU then I type that name on that window and that's it?No, thats just the definition that this role is relevant for the menu. In the next step, you have to assign that role to every menu-item which should be accessible with the role.
After that do I need a special command on Oracle to assign the user that role and tell the database that I want that user just to see that menu item?Do don't tell the database anything about the menu, the database doesn't even know what a menu is. You assign the role to a database user, and then forms checks which roles are assigned to the connected user and with that information checks, which of the menuitems should be shown to the user.
The command to grant a role to a dbuser is
GRANT <ROLENAME> TO <USERNAME>;

How to get several users on one computer their own iTunes account???

We have 3 of us on one computer. ipod, ipod nano, and a shuffle. I don't want my 8 year old to access my 16 year olds music files. How can we all have our own, I guess you call it, "account" or "library" so when my 8 year old plugs in her shuffle, it does NOT download my 16 year olds stuff? Create a new user account for each person.
Go to System prefs -> Accounts.
Select the songs for the each user drag them to Users/username/drop box.
Log on using the user account, open iTunes then File - > *Add to library* and select the files in their drop box.
Then delete the files from the drop box.

Not getting FBA users in site and its subsites?

Hi all,
I implemented FBA to my existing site, I think all the configuration completed, i can able to create user using FBAMembership registation.aspx page.
I am able to view the newly created users in the list.
In group assignments page i didn't get the FBA related users. I am getting the OLEDP users in the peopleandpicker control.
How can i get FBAUsers in group assignment?
I am working with sharepoint 2010 to 2013 migration project.
Could you please give me the suggestion for this task. Very urgent.

Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to get form basic authentication user in the Peoplepicker control when assigning user to group.
For people picker control allow for FBA user, you need to configure the People Picker Wildcards in the web.config like below:

In the csv file, the column headers must match the the special references in curly brackets.
So you either change the column header in .csv file or the bit in the curly brackets in the Template email.
To change the column header:
In the example shown below, I wanted to use the first two columns
'First Name', 'Last Name' note the exact spelling.
I also wanted the email address which was in a column called 'Primary Email'.
To make it easier for me, I copied the Primary Email column and inserted it into the third column position and then changed the column header name from 'Primary Email' to 'Email'. (This meant I still had the original column header just in case). see image below.
But you could just change the column header name from 'Primary Email' to 'Email' without moving column about - up to you.
At this point check that all the contacts do have a valid email address.
then save the file.
If you do not want to edit the .csv file, then you need to edit the template email.
eg: {{First Name}} {{Last Name}} <{{Email}}>
change to : {{First Name}} {{Last Name}} <{{Primary Email}}>
If still having an issue, please post two images.
One image needs to show the row of column headers used in .csv file.
The other image needs to show the Template email, so I can see how you have used the curly brackets.

What would be the correct approach if he decides that he doesn't need access to a specific system and decides to terminate his account ?

One way by creating dummy resource, he will raise a request but no approval will be triggered (if you want then you can modify).
In the provisioning workflow call the OIM APIs.
Second approach I have to look into it.
