Get jms queue and topic names from JNDI

Hello all,
How do I get all possible queue and Topic names from JNDI (in my app) so I can store them in a HashMap?
Thanks

I'm guessing you know where in the JNDI you put your queue and topic names. Then you can do:
context.listBindings("myJNDIContext");
and go through the NamingEnumeration that this returns.

  • J2EE client mapping in WL6 - continued : jms queues and topics

    How can one use "generic" (i.e. "java:comp/env/jms/myQueue") names in client
    code for jms queues and topics,
    since neither application-client.xml nor WL's myjarname.runtime.xml
    have elements for them ?
    I mean, jms managed objects are not env-entries (application-client.dtd
    specifies that only primitive wrapper types can be valid env-entry-value)
    nor resources (which I understand are all connection factories, for jdbc,
    jms or mail ...).
    In my ejb-jar.xml I use the resource-env-ref element :
    <resource-env-ref>
    <resource-env-ref-name>jms/CreationErrorQueue</resource-env-ref-name>
    <resource-env-ref-type>javax.jms.Queue</resource-env-ref-type>
    </resource-env-ref>
    which can be mapped in weblogic-ejb-jar.xml
    <resource-env-description>
    <res-env-ref-name>jms/CreationErrorQueue</res-env-ref-name>
    <jndi-name>jms.aregon.CreationErrorQueue</jndi-name>
    </resource-env-description>
    but I don't know how to map the jndi of such objects in a client
    application.

    Hi Sachin --
    In the 10.1.3.1 release, a set of new commands have been added to admin_client.jar to support the command line creation of JMS resources:
    -addJMSConnectionFactory -domain <domain> -jndiLocation <jndiLocation> [options]
    -removeJMSConnectionFactory -jndiLocation <jndiLocation>
    -getJMSConnectionFactories
    -addDestination -domain <domain> -name <name> -jndiLocation <jndiLocation> [options]
    -removeDestination -name <name> [options]

    Thanks M
    Yes It is Sales and Distribution process and we are using ODBC Connectivity through database client for the connection parameter in the Universe designed to the R/3 ECC.
    So we dont have
    a) DS
    b) BW
    c) Data Connector
    So Universe is basically on the relational Data
    base where by linking VBRK,VBRP and various Master tables.
    (OLTP level universe)
    So the quesion remain as it is bcos we cant access functional module READ_TEXT in the R/3
    Pls suggest for the following Alternatives
    a)Using Crystal Reports
    b)Use BW (Currently it is not there,but soon be Implemented)
    What do you think?
    Bcos we dont want to refresh z table which could be developed from given functional module before running our report.

  • Getting jms queue jndi name via jmx

    Hi all,
    I'm writing a utility that will help us migrate jms messages to new servers, stores, etc. I would like to connect to a server and programmatically discover the jndi names of all the queues and topics on that server. I know how to get all the destination mbeans via jmx, but I don't see a way to get the jndi names for them. They have a Name attr, but it's not the jndi name. Is this possible with WLS 9.2?
    thanks

    I believe the attribute on the Destination Bean would be JNDIName, but I would use WLST to browse the information available via JMX. I.e.
    1) connect to the domain
    2) cd into the approriate jms system resource. Then perform ls() and cd() until you find the right information.
    3) Then use print cmo - this will give you the JMX object name. ls() will show you the attribute name.
    4) So you can either look up the MBeans directly using JMX or walk down the domain hierarchy

    You probably want to try the SOA Suite forum for OSB questions.
    SOA Suite
    There is an excellent book also:

    The documentation goes over the fundamentals, but the book will be better for step by step examples.

    Hi,
    Were you able to do it? We are facing this same issue now and, despite the fact the docs say otherwise, it does not seem to be a trivial task.

    I use java interface, is it supported?

    Hello,
    I don't know if it would work for you, but have you checked the db_archive utility at:

    Check the -s option.

  • Get a font's file name from the font's postscript name (on Windows)

    I am trying to obtain the the font file name when the only information I have is the font's 'postscript' name. (Emphasis: the font's name is postscript and not the font).
    For example I have the following postscript name: TimesNewRomanPSMT.
    The real name that is saved in the registry is: Times New Roman (TrueType).
    Is there any way of obtaining that name from the given postscript name?
    Currently I am coding this for Windows, but it should be compatible, or at least have alternative code for MacOS

    Funny. I'm having the same problem and was about to post the exact same question
    In Photoshop, there is "app.fonts", which lets you get a font's postscript name from the font's name. This doesn't exist in After Effects.
    My only hope is that there's a way to get a font's postscript name in Visual Basic. I'll let you know if I find anything useful.

  • Recovering connections to queues and topics if a provided become unavailabl

    Hello! I've got a service that creates a thread to a given JMS queue or topic. When the service is started, it is verified that the queue or topic is reachable. However, over the course of time, the JMS provider could be restarted bringing it offline temporarily. When it goes offline and later comes back on line, the thread that was previously connected is not aware that the provider is back on line and does not pick up any messages in the given topic. Does anyone know what the proper way to handle this is in JMS land? I've been looking into durable subscribers, but I'm unsure if this will do for me what I want. I'm trying to avoid have to constantly poll for the queue/topic status or force the user to restart the service periodically. Thanks in advance!

    hi.
    depending on your JMS provider - you may use the Connection's method setExceptionListener().
    keep in mind, however, that not all providers are fail-safe in the case of a provider's shutdown-startup sequence or network failures. you might want to experiment a little with the provider you installed and see what happens in various situations.
