Get picture's file name to text

How can I set an InDesign template that to get a placed object's file name and write it down, without the extension, in a text box near it? I have to make a large list of people, all the jpg-s are named with their names, and I have to write down the names near. I was thinking of a template with a placeholder for the picture and a placeholder for the text, that gets the picture's name. Have any better ideea guys?

I've tried them out, but haven't manage yet to create a template of my own. Can i "convince" InDesign to pun only 3 images on a page, in specific locations? How can I make contact sheets work on different master pages? I mean arranging pictures on different layouts, in the same document.

    Dear Damorgan,
         >>your version number to three decimal places
         My Oracle DB Version i have already stated in my previous post is 10.2.0.1.0
    Actually my problem is to get the sql files name we run in sqlplus enviornment with @ symbol. like
    i have created one sql file in c drive as
    "C:\Createtable.sql"
    afterwords i have connected to sqlplus as
    sql> conn scott/tiger
    sql>@c:\createtable.sql
    Now i want some query to get the name of the file which is run.
    In actual my problem is as
    i have suppose 10 or more SQL files in some folder ( sql1.sql, sql2.sql, sql3.sql ....).
    i created one file to call all the 10 sql files (main.sql)
    i have also one track_table which will keep track that which sql file is runned.
    I want some automated script which will insert the record in that track_table....... for that i need the name of sql file which is runned.
    Hope this will help you.
    Thanks & Regards

  • How to get the Output File Name as One of the Field Value From Payload

    Hi All,
    I want to get the Output file name as one of the Field value from payload.
    Example:
    Source XML
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    - <ns0:MT_TEST xmlns:ns0="http://sample.com">
    - <Header>
      <NAME>Bopanna</NAME>
      </Header>
      </ns0:MT_TEST>
    I want to get the Output file name as " Bopanna.xml"
    Please suggest me on this.
    Regards
    Bopanna

    Hi,
    There are couple of links already available for this. Just for info see the below details,
    The Output file name could be used from the field value of payload. For this you need to use the UDF DynamicFile name with below code,
    //       Description: Function to create dynamic Filename
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container.getTransformationParameters().get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File" , "FileName");
    conf.put(key,a);
    return "";
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container.getTransformationParameters().get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File" , "FileName");
    conf.put(key,a);
    return "";
    With this udf map it with the MessageType as
    (File Name field from Payload) > DynamicFileConfiguration>MTReceiver
    Thanks

  • Getting the Source File name Info into Target Message

    Hi all,
    I want to get the Source file name Info into Target message of one of the fields.
    i followed Michal BLOG /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/11/10/xi-the-same-filename-from-a-sender-to-a-receiver-file-adapter--sp14
    Requirement :
    1) I am able to get the Target file name as same as the source file name when i check the ASMA in Sender & Receiver Adapter , with out any UDF...............this thing is OK
    2) I took One field extra in the target structure Like "FileName" & I mapped it Like
                              Constant(" " )--UDF-----FileName
    I Checked the Option ASMA in Both Sender & Receiver Adapters
    Here iam getting the Target File name as same as Source file name + Source File name Info in the Target Field " FileName".
    I Dont want to get the Target File name as same as Source file name. I want like Out.xml as Target file name.
    If i de-select the Option ASMA in Adapters means it is showing " null" value in the target field "FileName".
    Please Provide the Solution for this
    Regards
    Bopanna

    Hi All,
    Iam able to do this by checking the Option ASMA in only sender adapter itself

  • PhE11: No possibility to sort my pictures by file name !  Why not ?? (Like in PhE 9)  Tha

    There is in PHE 11 Editorno longer a possibility to sort my pictures by file name !  Why not ?? (Like in PhE 9)  That creates a big problem working with my thousands of files !

    dear Brett N
    I am a new macbook user forced to give up Digital Image Pro (winXP), and looking for a photo program that sorts BY NAME. REPEAT BY NAME.
    I was ready to purchase PSE11, but luckily I read this forum and saw that in your infinite wisdom you spared every expense and removed this function.
    I have no need for face recognition, type of photo, etc.
    Should I abandon 15 years of files all sorted by where they were taken?
    I think not. For you to do this to previous owners shows a blatant disregard for them.
    I will look elsewhere and not to a Photoshop product.
    Should you provide an update that corrects this I would consider installing it on my 2 new Apple machines. Hurry though......

  • Ecxpert Problem in getting the original file name submitted by FTP

    hai,
    when i use the scheduled FTP Application receive mode to receive files from the remote machine, i am not able to get the original file name, Ecxpert itself maintaining it's own file name,
    Even i query the tracking table also i am not able to find the original filename.
    If anybody know how i can able to get the original file name?
    thanks....

    I don't think there is an easy to capture this information. We ended up writing our own FTP tool so we could gather better data. The other problem we had seemed to be sporadic downloads from sites where setting Passive was required.

  • Set file names to text

    I'm looking for an action that will take files as input and output the file names as text. Does anyone know of an included or free action to do this?
    Message was edited by: KatieS1975

    You can use AppleScript's text item delimiters to add some text between the (text) items when converting the input list to text:
    <pre style="
    font-family: Monaco, 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;
    font-size: 10px;
    font-weight: normal;
    margin: 0px;
    padding: 5px;
    border: 1px solid #000000;
    width: 720px;
    color: #000000;
    background-color: #FFEE80;
    overflow: auto;"
    title="this text can be pasted into the Script Editor">
    on run {input, parameters} -- convert the input list to text using the specified delimiter
    try
    set tempTID to AppleScript's text item delimiters -- save the current delimiter
    set AppleScript's text item delimiters to return -- change the delimiting text as desired
    set the output to the input as text
    set AppleScript's text item delimiters to tempTID
    on error errorMessage number errorNumber -- restore the original delimiter before passing on the error
    set AppleScript's text item delimiters to tempTID
    error errMessage number errorNumber
    end try
    return the output
    end run
    </pre>

  • How to Get Albums in File-Name-Order Photo

    When I updated my iPod Touch to V4.0 and iTunes (V9 on Windows XP) re-synced it, I found that my photo albums were now in Picture Date order rather than PC file name order. I tried several things that didn't work.
    What worked was using the Photoshop Essentials Organizer to change the picture date on all the photos in an album to the same date and time (this can be done to all selected photos in one operation).
    I did the sync in two steps. First I moved the album out of the iTunes photos directory and then synced my iPod which deleted the album. Then I moved it back and re-synced.
    Does anyone know of an easier trick? I’ve already submitted a feedback item to Apple that they should make file-name-order an option in iTunes
    Andy…

    The trick that I used is to append the URL with the name of the file. So if your url is "http://domain.com/attach", use "http://domain.com/attach/filename.doc". IE and Netscape parse the URL to determine what the filename is, so by placing this text at the end, you essentially let the browsers know what the filename is. :)
    I have design a program to get the attach file from an
    attachment. But when I click the link to save the
    file, the default name of the file is 'attach'
    whenever I get different files. Who know what is the
    problem, please tell me the truth.

  • How to get rid of file name that pops up with mouseover?

    When a user is on my website and mouses over a link to another page, the name of that page comes up - for example, if I mouse over the link to the Mums Night Out page (while on the home page) the file name pops up (mumsnightout.html)
    Any idea on how to get rid of that annoying issue?
    Thanks,
    roxpat

    Is this question now solved?
    Excuse me if it is, but I am really freaking out about this and don't know what to do.
    I don't want to launch my website before everything is perfect and I really want the yellow-pop-up-box-bstrd to go away.
    I am using this code which works fine in ff and safari but not in ie:
    <script type='text/javascript'>
    function clearTooltip() {
    _links = parent.document.links;
    for (i=0; i<_links.length; i++) {
    _links.setAttribute('title', '');
    chkFooter = setInterval('checkFooter()', 100);
    function checkFooter() {
    if (parent.document.getElementById('footer_layer') != null) {
    clearTooltip();
    clearInterval(chkFooter);
    </script>
    Should I modify it in some way? Any ideas?

  • File name into text field

    Is there a way to display the forms file name, into a text field?
    Example: The form's file name is "MyForm.1.01.pdf"
    I would like to display "MyForm.1.01" in a text field on the form.
    If my form is saved and goes up a revision to say "MyForm.1.02"
    "MyForm.1.02" is then displayed in the text field.
    I was thinking, this could be on the pre open event, so that when the form is saved, it would display the new revision when the form is next opened?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    The following will get the file name:
    this.rawValue = event.target.documentFileName;
    I would put this in the docReady event, as this event fires only once, when the form opens.
    There is a sample here: https://acrobat.com/#d=ZnxO-dlXXFDS0GvYcQk2NQ
    Hope that helps,

  • How do I view imported pictures in file name order?

    I have an extensive picture library on my NAS which I would like to see on my iPad and/or AppleTV. I have made folders available for viewing and I've also imported some actual JPEG files to the iPad using iTunes. Try as I might, I cannot get these files to display in file name order (they are all named by date and time). Is there a way?

    Not using the built in photos app. You'll need to search for a third party app. I'm afraid I don't have any to recommend because I've never looked for any, but the default for the built in app is to sort by date/event.
