Get the row index by clicking on a link in a table

Hi,
I am using a table to display a product catalog in Web Dynpro ABAP.
The user should be able to click on any material number (link) in the table to get a detail view of this material.
How do I get back the table line, the user has clicked to show him a detail-view?

To get the details of complete row,
Data lo_nd_products type ref to if_wd_context_node.
Data lo_el_products type ref to if_wd_context_element.
Data ls_products type wd_this->Element_products.
data ld_material type string.
lo_nd_products = wd_context->get_child_node( name = wd_this->wdctx_node ).
lo_el_products = lo_nd_products->get_element( ).
lo_el_products = wd_event->get_context_element( name = 'CONTEXT_ELEMENT' ).
lo_nd_products->set_lead_selection( Exproting element = lo_el_products ).
lo_el_products->get_static_attributes( importing static_attributes = ls_products ). "ls_products contain selected row content.
ld_material = ls_products-material. "To get selected material number

For getting the row index use the following code.
DATA lo_nd_node TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node.
DATA lo_el_node TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_element.
DATA index TYPE i.
* navigate from <CONTEXT> to <NODE> via lead selection
lo_nd_node = wd_context->get_child_node( name = wd_this->wdctx_node ).
lo_el_node = lo_nd_node->get_lead_selection( ).
index = lo_el_node->get_index( ).
node is the name of the node which is binded to the table.
For printing the message u can use code wizard.
Press ctrl-F7. Now Select generate message.
IN this select the method REPORT_SUCCESS
In the code now u can give index to Message text Exporting parameter. Comment receiving parameter.
Write the whole code in onLeadSelect of the table.

How to get selected Row Index in a table based ona VO?

Hi All,
I'm writing an ADF form wherein I use a VO based on a SQL query. I'd like to know how to get the index of a selected row. I havea selection Listener in place where I can print the selected Row's data using getSelectedRowData().toString() on the table.
How can I get certain Attributes from this selected row.
One solution I thought of is to get the row index and then read attributes. But I cant seem to figure out how to get rowIndex for a selected row. Any sugestions?

If your selected row is marked as current row you can use
// Get a attribute value of the current row of iterator

How to get the column index inside a dataTable

Hello,
before I get staked, there are multiple threads handling familiar topics to the one I'm questioning about but none gives an anwer. If there is one, I'm propably to less skilled to see it.
So here is my Problem: I've build a web-interface to a time-recording system. The hours worked on a certain project are displayed in a dataTable component which is generated out of a mySQL Query. Each entry (column/row) contains a inputText component to display and edit the specific value.
Editing one of these inputText elements now fires a valueChangeEvent which reads the new value and stores it in the database. For that cause I need to know the row- and column-index of the inputText component that fired the event.
Using the getClientId method from the valueChangeEvent I get some Information which makes it possible to calculate the row/column index. A typical clientID looks like "form_table:mainTable:0:_id14". "form_table" is the ID of the form the dataTable is in. "mainTable" is the id of the dataTable component. "0" is the row the component is in. And finally "_id14" stands for the id randomly given to the inputText component by JSF.
My Problem is now, that though I can calculate the column out of the[i] "_id14", this calculation is hardcoded. So everytime I add a component in before the dataTable, the calculation needs to be adjusted in the code.
The Questions:
- How to force a sensefull id indicating a column-index for the inputText components inside the columns of a dataTable?
- Nicer since no workaround: How to get the column-index inside the dataTable on a natural way? (e.g. out of the valueChangeEvent the specific inputText component fires)
After some investigation here on the board and on the net I know multiple ways to get the row index, (Things like component-binding and so on) but I can't find a answer on how to get the column-index.

As you've noticed the table gives you the flexibility to move columns around. So if you move column 0 to column 1, why would you expect to still use 0 as the index? The table manages the reordering of columns for you to make sure the data being displayed in each table column comes from the correct column in the data model.
You can manage this yourself using one of the following methods (I forget which one):
table.convertColumnIndexToModel(int viewColumnIndex)
table.convertColumnIndexToView(int modelColumnIndex)
Or, you can get data from the data model directly:
table.getModel().getValueAt(row, 0);

I need to get the Row / Column when double click is used in ALV, I can use the double click event for this. However, I do not want to use the Object Oriented ALV. I want to implement the same functionality using general (using functions) ALV.
Is there any way to get the row / column values for a Generia (non-OOPs) ALV report.

Getting the selected index of a UIX MessageChoise

I have a UIX page with MessageChoise.
On the same page I have a submit button with an event named getSelectedIndex.
I let the event invoke an UIX event handler method named
getSelectedIndex(....).
Question: How do I get the Selected index of the MessageChoise in this method.

If it is a bound message choice....
I am now able to get the selected value from the message choice....

How to get the rows from a table having some column has any letter

suppose i have a table having columns id(number), code(varchar).
code has alphanumeric characters (ex. ABC123, 67B56 etc).
some codes are only numbers (2344, 7898 etc).
how can i get the rows which have alphabets in the code.
ex:
id code
1 AB45
2 456
3 890
4 67B7
how can i write a query such that it should give me the ids 1 and 4 (as they have alphabets in code)

But i have a doubt in the operator.
If i add or remove '[]' in the operator, i am getting different ouputs.
There is a count difference in the result of the operators used.
REGEXP_LIKE(<column>,'[[:lower:]]')
REGEXP_LIKE(<column>,'[[[:lower:]]]')
REGEXP_LIKE(<column>,'[:lower:]')
Can anybody please explain what is the difference in using '[]', in the operator?
What is the correct syntax, whether i have to use two '[]'s or one '[]'.
Also, can i use REGEXP_LIKE() in oracle 8i version.( I am unable to use the operator in 8i)?

I also tried barni's way ,but the method rs.last() and rs.beforeFirst() throw a same Exception
I tried another way,the code is:

However,the rowCount still equal zero
