Get waveform value at specific time

Hi ,I have an analog waveform and I would like to read the value at a specific time. ( Let's say 12s from start) . Is there any function that can directly do it for me instead of working on timestamps and dt
Thanks

That should do it. Set Y position format to "relative time". (of course if you look inside, all it does is what the OP is already doing)
(Personally, I would actually implement interpolation in case the exact time point is not available...)

• How to get updated value at run time in oracle forms

How to get updated value form oracle database on a field in oracle forms 6.0 at run time if the same form is opened by multiple users and both have get the same maximum value if one commit the record then how other would get that maximum value with out exiting that form...

This issue is fairly common and Forms handles the situation by displaying the error, "Record has been updated by another user. Requery to see changes." if a user tries to update a record that was updated by another user.
If your data is in a base table block, you can check before you save by checking the value in the form against the database using the Get_Item_Property('<BLOCK.ITEM>',DATABASE_VALUE). You can compare the value returned by the built-in against the value in the field to see if they have changed. This could be a lot of work and a lot of network traffic if you are checking numerous items in your data block. Forms has a standard locking mechanism that will lock the queried record as soon as a user makes any changes. If another user queries and attempts to change the record locked by another user - they will receive a "Record Locked" message.

• Custom row-fetch and how to get column values from specific row of report

Hi -- I have a case where a table's primary key has more than 3 columns. My report on the
table has links that send the user to a single-row DML form, but of course the automatic
fetch won't work because 1) I can't set more than 3 item values in the link and 2) the
auto fetch only handles 2 PK columns.
1)
I have written a custom fetch (not sure it's the most elegant, see second question) that is working
for 3 or few PK columns (it references the 1-3 item values set in the link), but when there are
more than 3, I don't know how to get the remaining PK column values for the specific row that was
selected in the report. How can I access that row's report column values? I'll be doing it from the
form page, not the report page. (I think... unless you have another suggestion.)
2)
My custom fetch... I just worked something out on my own, having no idea how this is typically
done. For each dependent item (database column) in the form, I have a source of PL/SQL
function that queries the table for the column in question, using the primary key values. It works
beautifully, though is just a touch slow on my prototype table, which has 21 columns. Is there
a way to manually construct the fetch statement once for the whole form, and have APEX be smart
about what items get what
return values, so that I don't have to write PL/SQL for every item? Because my query data sources
are sometimes in remote databases, I have to write manual fetch and dml anyway. Just would like
to streamline the process.
Thanks,
Carol

HI Andy -- Well, I'd love it if this worked, but I'm unsure how to implement it.
It seems I can't put this process in the results page (the page w/ the link, that has multiple report rows), because the link for the row will completely bypass any after-submit processes, won't it? I've tried this in other conditions; I thought the link went directly to the linked-to page.
And, from the test of your suggestion that I've tried, it's not working in the form that allows a single row edit. I tried putting this manually-created fetch into a before header process, and it seems to do nothing (even with a hard-coded PK value, just to test it out). In addition, I'm not sure how, from this page, the process could identify the correct PK values from the report page, unless it can know something about the row that was selected by clicking on the link. It could work if all the PK columns in my edit form could be set by the report link, but sometimes I have up to 5 pk columns.
Maybe part of the problem is something to do with the source type I have for each of the form items. With my first manual fetch process, they were all pl/sql functions. Not sure what would be appropriate if I can somehow do this with a single (page level?) process.
Maybe I'm making this too hard?
Thanks,
Carol

• How to get a value from Specific XML Node

Hi all,
I'm just trying to introduce to XMLType and see the potencialities of that.

SELECT EXTRACTVALUE(doc, '/ReceiptDesc/Receipt/dc_dest_id') FROM asm_test; ---- got the correct value 401

where existsNode(doc,'/ReceiptDesc/Receipt/ReceiptDtl/receipt_nbr') = 1;

select extract(doc, '/ReceiptDesc/Receipt/ReceiptDtl/item_id/text()').getstringVal()

extract(doc,'/ReceiptDesc/Receipt/ReceiptDtl/receipt_nbr/text()').getstringVal() = '6902340';
What i'm doing wrong or which is the best way to get data from XML?
Many thanks in advance

Hi,
Thanks for providing db version and sample data in the first place.
Don't forget to use the {code} tags to preserve formatting.
Also, when posting XML, do not copy/paste directly from your browser as it retains +/- signs and therefore needs extra processing on our side.
select count(*) from asm_jam_test d where (d.doc.getClobVal()) like '%NTCPO01%'; -- got 1No, don't do it like that.
Use existsNode() function in this situation :
SQL> select count(*)
2 from asm_test
3 where existsNode(doc, '/ReceiptDesc/Receipt/ReceiptDtl[user_id="NTCPO01"]') = 1
4  ;
COUNT(*)
1
when i try to find out the Item_id of specific receipt_nbr i got a NULL response.Yes, that's because this :
extract(doc,'/ReceiptDesc/Receipt/ReceiptDtl/receipt_nbr/text()').getstringVal()returns :
69023406902344So obviously it cannot be equal to '6902340'.
When you have to deal with repeating nodes individually, use XMLTable function to break the structure into relational rows and columns.
The resultset you'll get acts as a virtual table (or inline view) you can then manipulate with SQL operations :
SQL> select x.*
2 from asm_test t
3 , xmltable(
4 '/ReceiptDesc/Receipt/ReceiptDtl'
5 passing t.doc
6 columns item_id varchar2(15) path 'item_id'
7 , receipt_nbr varchar2(15) path 'receipt_nbr'
8 ) x
9  ;
ITEM_ID RECEIPT_NBR
509720 6902340
509740 6902344
Now, you can just add a WHERE clause to filter the RECEIPT_NBR you require :
SQL> select x.item_id
2 from asm_test t
3 , xmltable(
4 '/ReceiptDesc/Receipt/ReceiptDtl'
5 passing t.doc
6 columns item_id varchar2(15) path 'item_id'
7 , receipt_nbr varchar2(15) path 'receipt_nbr'
8 ) x
9 where x.receipt_nbr = '6902340'
10  ;
ITEM_ID
509720
That can also be achieved with EXTRACTVALUE and a single XPath expression (assuming RECEIPT_NBR is unique) :
SQL> select extractvalue(
2 doc
3 , '/ReceiptDesc/Receipt/ReceiptDtl[receipt_nbr="6902340"]/item_id'
4 ) as item_id
5 from asm_test
6  ;
ITEM_ID
509720

• Get column value for specific columns

I want to change the default behavior of a IKM. In a specific step, I need to call a PLSQL procedure inside the loop below, and that procedure will substitute the insert clause. The procedure uses only some attributes, and I need to check the name of each one when I use the getColList method.
for aRecord in myCursor loop
insert into <%=snpRef.getTable("L","TARG_NAME","A")%>
<%=snpRef.getColList("", "[COL_NAME]", ",\n\t\t\t", "", "((INS AND (NOT TRG)) AND REW)")%>
<%=snpRef.getColList(",", "[COL_NAME]", ",\n\t\t\t", "", "((INS AND TRG) AND REW)")%>
values
<%=snpRef.getColList("", "aRecord.[COL_NAME]", ", \n\t\t\t", "", "((INS AND (NOT TRG)) AND REW)")%>
<%=snpRef.getColList(",", "aRecord.[COL_NAME]", ", \n\t\t\t", "", "((INS AND TRG) AND REW)")%>
end loop;
For example, to call the procedure I do that: schema.proc_1(col1, col2, col3). However, I have more than 3 columns, and I need to restrict them when I use the getColList method. I would like to know if there is a way to get only specific columns, giving these names. I pass the name of the column, and the method should return its value. Can I use the getColList to do that? Is there any other way to do that?

Hi Luciene,
You can use the UD flags to do this. If you click on one of your mappings in the Diagram tab of your interface you will notice several UD flags (UD1 to UD5) you can use those to flag the columns you want to use in proc_1.
To summarize:
- at the interface level flag the columns you want to use in your PL/SQL code -> check UD1 for all of them
- modify your IKM code:
<%=odiRef.getColList(",", "COL_NAME", ",\n\t\t\t", "", "((INS AND TRG) AND REW AND UD1)")%> <- retrieve columns flagged with insert, not read only, mapped on target and with UD1 flagged. The "AND UD1" part can be used in other getColList.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Julien

• Deletion of arrays during specific time intervals...how to get it working?

i am trying to calculate the average peak values in a systolic pressure waveform during a specific time interval. for example, every 5 seconds, i want to average out all the peak values in that interval and after calculating the average, i want to delete the array of peak values. however, what i am finding is that the array is always 0 if i use the delete array in my vi. therefore, the average is always NaN, because the array is empty and there is a divide by 0 error....

It is very difficult to make sense of your diagram, because all the control references are missing, so it is not possible to tell the various data sources apart.
Where is the data coming from? How do you prevent race conditions between the acquisition and analysis parts?
Overall, the diagram is overly complicated and very hard to read. For example clearing the array does not require reading the old array, measuring it's length, followed by "delete from array", followed by writing back to the array. Why don't you just wire an empty array to it? Same result! :-)
You go to tremedous lenght calculating a simple array average, using numerous property reads and indexing arrays inside FOR loops. There is "mean.vi" that does it in one step. (If you only
have base LabVIEW, it might not be available (?), so use "Sum" and divide by n. No loop needed). To find the largest element in an array, use "Array Max & Min" from the array palette, again in one simple step.
I would highly recommend going over some LabVIEW tutorials or look at some of the shipped examples. Make yourself familiar with basic programming concepts such as auto-indexing at loop boundaries. An "index array" wired to the loop counter is never needed.
I suspect that your problem is due to a race condition between acquisition and analysis code, but there is no way to tell unless you include all control references and also the companion VI that gets the raw data from the instrument.

• Sampling waveform values and writing corresponding time values

I am sampling the frequency of a generator set using a 1126 module. The frequency values I am getting are approximately 60 Hz.
I am sampling at 150 samples per second and using the Index Waveform Array function to peel off the frequency waveform. Then I am running that waveform wire (brown) through a Get Waveform components function to seperate the t0, dt, and y components. I am taking the oranage wire from the Y portion to write those values to a spreadsheet file. Then I want to build an array of the frequency values and the time values and write that to file (transposing the array if need be).
I want one column to be the frequency values and the second column to be the correspond
ing time values for each of those data points. For example, starting at t=0:
Frequency (Hz) Time (s)
60.0 0
60.1 0.0066666
59.9 0.0133333
60.2 0.0200000
60.1 0.0266666
|
|
| end of first second
|
V
60.5 0.9866666
60.1 0.9933333
60.0 1.0000000
59.7 1.0066666
The time interval increments by 1/150 of a second each time a sample is taken (150 times per second).
I tried to use the Get Waveform Time Array function, but that returned a 10 digit number that did not appear to be related to the time in seconds.
Can someone please advise me on how I can get the corresponding time values in seconds for waveform data points in the situation described above? Thanks!

Since you are aquiring at a constant sample time, you could try using the ramp pattern to generate the time column.
I attach a sample VI in which I generate the ramp starting from waveform characteristics and then create the 2d array to save to disk with Write to Spreadsheet File.vi.
Hope this helps

• Time when the waveform value cross a determined level

Hi all,
I'm using PCI-5112 with Labvew to capture a waveform and i'm getting a triangle form waveform type. How to find the time when the waveform value cross some predetermined values. To put it more clearly, I attached a picture. In my picture, I want to know TH (time interval when the Y value cross 100), TM ( time interval when the Y value cross 50), TL (time interval when the Y value cross 20). How to put these measurements through Labview program? Any clue or example would be very helpful. Thx
Attachments:
description.jpg ‏22 KB

You can do this using the built-in NI-SCOPE functions or the LabVIEW pulse waveform measurements VIs by tweaking the reference levels appropriately. However, given the noise level in your signal, you may not be happy with the result, since these measurements are done essentially on a point-to-point basis. A more robust option is to find the approximate location of the level crossing, take N points on either side of it, do a simple curve fit to this data, then use the curve fit to determine the actual level crossing. A line fit would work on the first part of your curve, an exponetial or parabolic fit on the second. A further optimization would be to use a robust fitting method, but it does not look like you need to go that far.
If you need more details on any of these methods, let us know.

• How do I set iCal alerts to a specific time the previous day, regardless of their specific time (so I can get an overview of tomorrow)?

I think it would be incredibly useful to be able to get at, say, 10pm each evening, a pop up overview of the next day's events. I'm hoping for a tick box somewhere to set my default reminder as a specific time on the previous day, in the same way that you can do '15 minutes before'. Currently you can set reminders for a specific time and date, but, entering this for every item – especially if you want them to coincide – is more than slightly tedious. Furthermore, I input a lot of my Calender events on my iPhone (they sync via iCloud), which has no such functionality, rendering this essentially defunct.

• Get a value of a item in a diferent time period - Script Logic

Hi,
So i'm facing the following problem,
I've inputed some data on the time 2010.INP, wich is my member for data that will be used to calculate other members from diferente time period.
For example, in my current view i have selected time = 2010.JAN, and i try to run the following code
*WHEN ACCOUNT
*IS "VOLUME"
*REC(EXPRESSION=GET(account="YEARTAX",DATASRC="INPUT", TIME="2010.INP"),ContaVendas="MONTHTAX")
*ENDWHEN
So what i'm trying to do is, when the user inputs the value for volume, it gets the value that was previously set to the yeartax in the member 2010.INP, and copy it to MONTHTAX in 2010.JAN
But the value that is returned is 0.
Any ideas?
Hopefuly i made mysel clear!

Hi,
yeartax and monthtax are members of which dimension? I can see account and contavendas in 2 different locations.
Assuming that the above 2 members are from the contavendas dimension, please modify the script to
*WHEN ACCOUNT
*IS "VOLUME"
*REC(EXPRESSION=GET(CONTAVENDAS="YEARTAX",DATASRC="INPUT", TIME="2010.INP"), CONTAVENDAS="MONTHTAX", TIME=%TIME_SET%)

• Not getting Yahoo emails on Q5 except for a specific time span

My Q5 started to have this issue started about 4, 5 days ago. I dont get any Yahoo emails except for an approx 5 hr time span at specific times of the day. All other times I do not get any emails at all, not even when pressing the "refresh" icon.
I have deleted / rebooted/re-added the yahoo account multiple times without any improvement. I have also tested for improvement by taking away the "rim." in the settings (IMAP and SMPT), no help.
Well, right after re-adding the acct, the missing emails showed up, but that was it. It doesn't update my emails until that specific time of the day (for me that time span is from midnight to ~5am). I'm able to send out email fine.
Anyone has any suggestions?
Thank you very much in advance.

The password disappeared again, so I changed the password as you suggested.
I discovered that Yahoo had changed the password requirements, and that was likely causing the problem.
(I wish the error message had been more specific so I would have known that was the issue earlier).
I created a new password according to the new Yahoo password requirements, and I have not had any other problems with it so far.
Thanks.
It was not me it was user cb_ca and the above is what they posted. You can ask that user your question, just click the envelope icon on the middle of the page near the top and you can send them a message, just enter the users name mentioned above and type your message.

• Write to GPIB at a specific time in AO waveform

I would like to write a command to GPIB (using "GBIP Write.vi") at a
specific time in every iteration of buffered analog output.
But I have two question:
1. all iterations are generated at once by "AO Start.vi" ,how could I
write to GPIB in every iteration?
2. to write to GPIB at a specific time in each iteration,I must use
"Wait(ms).vi" to wait for a certain time, but this is not accurate
(delay>1ms)
P.S 1.the GPIB instrument is a function generator without external
trigger.
2.I have a timing board(PCI 6602) but I don't know whether it is
helpful.
Thank you for your help.

You have a choice of a gpib device with an external trigger or you will have to move LabVIEW-RT (where this project would be a slam-dunk).
