GetResourceAsStream not working ($50 reward for help)
Hi,
I can't get getResourceAsStream to work for reading text-file in Sun's studio mobility. when trying to compile the class I get message "Errors during compiling Qgui".
I have (by commenting out code) confirmed that the message is caused by the line reading "InputStream is = getResourceAsStream("textfile.txt");".
If someone can help me out on this, I will pay him/her $50 (via Paypal?) for pure joy of getting my prototype finally ready. Heck, I can pay something even if the advice is "get rid of studio mobility and use X instead", if X works better and instructions are clear..

Specifying my own message:
- Mobility Studio is version 6 2004Q3
- I have made jar-recipe (file->new->JAR Recipe), but am not sure if it has everything there should be (used "Generate" from the wizard)
- the line causing the trouble is "InputStream is = Qgui.class.getResourceAsStream("textfile.txt"); " ("Qgui" being the name of the current class; sorry for incorrectness in original message)
- I could not get this.class.getResourceAsStream to be accepted (which is another form of using getResourceAsStream I have seen in examples I found from net); it causes "identifier expected"
While I have some experience coding Java, I do not know much about jar-files or possible properties that should be somehow somewhere set. And it seems that basic what-to-do-for-beginners documentation beyond short tutorial for mobility studio is hard to find.

Did you download and install the Windows Support software? If you did, did you use the Boot Camp Control icon to set up the trackpad how you want it?

Let's start with iTunes.
Have you updated iTunes to 11.1.5, because the previous version did appear to have an issue about seeing iPods?
With iTunes 11.1.5 installed, look in Edit/Preferences/Devices, (or use the ALT key, followed by the E key and then the F key) and make sure that the box named Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically does not have a tick in the box.
Once you have doen those two things, check to see if the iPod is seen by iTunes.

Really?
OS stands for Operating System. (In computer speak, IO means Input/Output.)
iOS originally stood for iPhone Operating System, but it now refers to the iPod Touch and iPhone. The iPod Classic, which you have listed in your profile as your iPod, does not use iOS.
I assume that you have been listening to the Podcast in your iTunes on the computer as you cannot transfer it to your iPod. It's what I'd do. -
Hello, the 'Save As' dialog box used to allow the backspace button to go up one level in the directory when the focus is in the folder contents box but it does not work any more, please help. BTW the same 'Save As' dialog in other applications still allow the backspace button to go up one level in the directory.

I kept forgetting and procrastinating about following your instructions, since I have internet access only for limited amounts of time and usually I am busy with important tasks when I am.
Out of the blue, the problem corrected itself (the Save As box started to open full screen, then shrunk down to a normal size and the edges can now be dragged to a custom size).
Even the copy and paste problem in the filenaming area seems to have been less troublesome lately even though there have been no updates to Firefox in a few weeks.
Even though I marked the solution as not helpful, the problem has in fact been resolved. I will save the solution instructions in case the issue returns. -
I recently downloaded iMovie on my iPhone 5 and it is telling me to connect to wifi or use itunes to download iMovie well I have done both and it is still not working can someone please help me?

I'm sorry you are having issues with the iMovie app you purchased for your iPhone5.
The first thing I would suggest is to log out of your iTunes Account on your iPhone, turn the iPhone off and then on again, and see if app finishes downloading/updating.
Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Tap on your Apple ID account > Tap Sign Out
If the issues persists, the article below will give you a few more troubleshooting steps:
iOS: Troubleshooting applications purchased from the App Store
Try the following steps to resolve your issue, testing the app after each step.
1. Update your device software
Update your device to the latest version of iOS.
2. Check for app updates
Ensure that your apps are up to date:
Open the App Store and tap Updates. If updates are available, tap Update All.
When prompted, enter your iTunes Store account information. App Store will then download and install the application updates.
Note: Some applications may require a Wi-Fi connection to update.3. Install another app from the App Store
4. Restart the application
If the issue affects only a single app, try closing just that app:

I suppose you mean the Color Settings in Project Settings as follows:
- Working Space: None
- Match Legacy ... Gamma Adjustments checked ON
But it does not correct the colors in effects. And checking or unchecking Make Movie/Output Module Settings/Color Management/Profile/Preserve RGB does not make any difference.

Those parts of the video image that does not have color effects are just fine. In these parts the color is preserved when reimporting to FCP. However, those parts having color effects (except Levels, as decribed earlier) have altered color results. So, only the parts having effects affecting color are misinterpreted in the image area. The mismatch is of course seen in AE, before making the movie.
What I ment with "Color Management not working properly" is that (instead of "disabling" it) Color Management does not seem to be able to correct this "misinterpretation" or difference in effect handling between AE 6 and 10.
So, would you have any solution for this problem?

YouTube will not work on safari for me on the ipad. Is there anyway to fix this? I can go anywhere else on the internet fine and it works on google chrome, but on safari it shows a blank screen with the bar on top after it loads, if it's even loading at all.
I do not know if it's relevant or not, but I got a message on my ipad while on safari saying that my iPhone has a virus. I looked it up and it seems it might have just been an ad from the website I was on, but it happened around the same time YouTube stopped working.You will find that using the YouTube app will provide a better viewing experience for YouTube videos.

When syncing my iPhone with my iPhone, I get a message that 2 items did not sync - use iTunes for help.
But I can't find any help information in iTunes at all, let alone when items are not syncing.
How do I figure out what is not syncing?Since it seems App related, I'm not sure what to offer you. I guess the only suggestion I have is for you to reboot your iPad and then try again. To reboot, hold the power and home buttons at the same time for at least 10 seconds (keep holding past the swipe to shut down bar if it appears) until the Apple Logo appears, then let go of both buttons and your iPad will restart. You won't lose any settings or data, so it's worth a shot.

Also, some usrs have found that logging out of the Mac App Store and then back in again and starting over has kick-started the download. It seems that the 5+gb download can take a long time to give any feedback as to what's happening.
