Getting downloaded music to iPod says it wont play

I have a 5th generation video iPod (u2 edition)... i have purchased some videos and they all dowloaded fine. When i try to put the videos onto my iPod it says that it can't play on this iPod. I have updated my iPod and everything else works fine. What do i do?

Just a thought. make sure your computer is authorized for the purchases that you downloaded.
Click on store at the top of itunes and click authorize computer, then try syncing the content again to the ipod

  • Downloaded music from my new Imac wont play properly at my Ipod Mini

Just bought an Imac and downloaded music from Itunes musicstore. The music i have downloaded from my new Imac wont play properly at my Ipod mini. After 52 sec the song stops and the next song continues... If i go past the 52 sec it plays all right... I have tried to reset the ipod mini, and restore it. Nothing works...
The songs i have downloaded with my PC does not have any problems at all...
    Hope you can help.

iTunes does not transfer tracks back from an iPod to iTunes. The synchronization function is from iTunes to the iPod only. But you can get tracks back from your iPod if they haven't been erased (which will happen if you synch your iPod to a blank iTunes). The easiest way will be to search VersionTracker for "iPod". You'll find a number of utilities that can transfer your tracks and your playlists from your iPod back to your PC.
It's also possible to do this manually, but the procedure is rather involved. If you're interested, though, see this thread:
    MacMuse: Computer crashed
If your tracks are already gone from your iPod, though, then you're probably out of luck and will need to re-import your CDs and repurchase your tracks from the iTunes Music Store if you don't have them backed up elsewhere (which is strongly recommend).
    Hope this helps. Good luck.

  • Cannot sync a converted video (mp4) to ipod. says it wont play it.

I have a video that I converted to an mp4. when i go to sync it to my ipod, it will not sync and says something like, ipod will not play it. my friend has the exact same ipod as me and hers works fine for the same video. i am using Any Video Converter. I made sure my itunes was up to date also. Any ideas on why it will not work? do i need to get any apps for that?
    Thank you.

Select the video in Tunes. Then use the iTunes > Advanced menu to: Create an iPod or iPhone version". iTunes will make another copy of the video that should sync. You can either keep or delete the original video as you like.

  • How do i get my music from ipod onto new computer when old computer died

my old computer died unexpectedly and now i have a new one ...how do i get my music from ipod to itunes...i don't want to lose it since i have already paid for it...

1). Connect your iPod to your new computer. If it is set to sync automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod.
2). When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that will let you continue to use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default: Managing content manually on iPod and iPhone
3). Once you are connected and your iPod is safely in manual mode there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. iTunes will only let you copy your purchases directly from an iPod to the computer, you'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
For everything else (music from CDs, other downloads and including iTunes purchases) there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:
Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    Comparison of iPod managers
A selection of iPod to iTunes utilities:
TuneJack Windows Only (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
SharePod Windows Only (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
    iPod2PC Windows Only
    iDump Windows Only
    YamiPod Mac and Windows
iPod Music Liberator Mac & Windows
    Floola Mac & Windows
iPodRip Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Music Liberator Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
Music Rescue Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iGadget Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
TouchCopy Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
4). Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync.
5). I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive

  • I downloaded Magzter app button iPad 2 but when I buy magazines it is not getting downloaded but the same is getting downloaded in my iPod. Pl help. Magzter support is unable to help.

I downloaded Magzter app button iPad 2 but when I buy magazines it is not getting downloaded but the same is getting downloaded in my iPod. Pl help. Magzter support is unable to help.

You will not be able to see what version you are running until the iPad is activated. It will be in Settings>General>About >Version when you can get to the settings app.
The slider bar that you are describing sounds like the screen lock side switch and that has no bearing on setting up the iPad or connecting to WiFi.
Why don't you try rebooting your router? Unplug it for about 30 seconds and then plug it in again and see if the iPad will recognize and join the network.

  • HT5085 Can I use I tune match to get my music off iPod classic?

Can I use I tune match to get my music off iPod classic?

The iPod classic shouldn't be used to store the only copy of music or be considered a backup device. Put the music on a regular external drive or DVDs.

  • How To Download Musics On IPODS?

How To Download Musics On IPODs?

You use iTunes, so if iTunes is not installed on your computer already, go here to download it, install it, and then run it...

If you are asking how to sync songs from your iTunes library to an iPod, there are several methods.  This document provides general information.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1351
An iPod "classic" usually has plenty of storage space, so if your entire iTunes music library can fit on your iPod, here is one way you can set it up that will be most convenient.
First, if the iTunes sidebar (along left side of window) is not visible, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.  When connected, the iPod appears in the sidebar, under DEVICES.
Select the iPod in the sidebar.  Near the top, there is a bar of buttons that starts with Summary.  Click on Music next to Summary.  This is the iPod's Music screen, where you tell iTunes how to sync songs to the iPod.
Check the box for Sync Music.  NOTE:  Any songs that are currently on the iPod but not in your iTunes library (on the computer) will be lost.  If there are no songs currently on the iPod, or if all songs on the iPod are in your current iTunes library, there is no problem.  But if this is a problem, please post back.
Choose the option to sync Entire music library.  When you click Apply, everything in your iTunes music library (including playlists) sync to the iPod.  Going forward, any changes to the iTunes music library (such as new songs) sync automatically to the iPod the next time it is connected (or when you click Sync if the iPod is already connected).

  • How do you download music from  Ipod Classic to computer?

How do you download music from ipod classic to computer

If your music collection was purchased from iTunes, you are in a good shape since that music is forever yours under your iTunes account. Therefore, after installing iTunes on your new computer, sign into your account and see all your music under "Purchsed". Then simply download it to be phisically present onto your computer (for free since you've already paid for it).
On the other hand if you happens to not be a sucker to waist money on iTunes and your collection was ripped from the internet (via torrents and such), you need some third party software to copy iPod music, here is a guide about how to transfer music from iPod classic to computer. Hope it helps. Feel free to email me if you need further help.

  • I have copied over my music file to a new computer and the music shows on itunes but wont play. When I track where the song is located it is reading the wrong information. How do I change this as Edit Preferences has the right location

I have copied over my music files to a new computer and the music shows on itunes but wont play. When I track where the song is located it is reading the wrong information. How do I change this as Edit>Preferences has the right location?

Select one of the tracks with a broken link, press ctrl-i to Get Info. Say No when iTunes asks if you would like to locate the track, then look at the Summary tab for the location expects to find the file in.
Now try to locate the file in question. The two locations should give a clue as to what to do next.
Here is an example with a file I've deliberately moved from the new layout to the old pre-iTunes 9 layout.
This means iTunes is expecting to find the file at:
    D:\iTunes\iTunes Media\Music\a-ha\Take On Me\01 Take On Me.mp3
but it isn't there because I've moved it to:
    D:\iTunes\iTunes Media\a-ha\Take On Me\01 Take On Me.mp3
which is where it would have lived back in iTunes 8 (though the media folder would have been called iTunes Music back then as well).
If you can provide the expected and actual locations of a broken track I should be able to suggest the easiest way to resolve things.

  • TS2972 I can get my music, movies and tv shows to play through my apple tv, but I cannot see my photo stream on my apple tv.  What can I do to get my photos to show up on the TV?

I can get my music, movies and tv shows to play through my apple tv, but I cannot see my photo stream on my apple tv.  What can I do to get my photos to show up on the TV?
I have a mac and wireless internet.

Because you've got music and movies streaming to your Apple TV, I know you've authorized Home Sharing under the file menu of iTunes.  But under that same iTunes file menu you must also go to the "Home Sharing" pull-down and select "Choose Photos to Share With Apple TV". You can select All photos, or just specific albums. Maybe worth saying again that this is done from iTunes and not iPhoto.
If you've already done this and still no photos on AppleTV, check to see that your photo file names (previously imported into iPhoto) have valid suffixes (such as photo.jpg).  Without that valid suffix, iPhoto on your Mac will show the photo just fine (courtesy of the hidden Type Code embedded in the photo file), but AppleTV will not.
Good luck and let me know if either of these worked.

  • Song remains at 0:00 even though ipod says it's playing

Fifth Generation iPod 30 Gb. A couple of days ago it froze in the middle of the song, i reset with menu+center button. It worked. I plugged it into the computer to update some music, and an error message reading "ipod appears to be corrupt, use iPod restore to fix this problem", or something to that effect, came up. I proceded to restore the ipod, resync all my music, and now when i play any song or video the song or video comes up, but will not play, even though the ipod says it's playing. Computer will not recognize ipod, itunes freezes when ipod is connected, and the ipod is ejected a few minutes later. The stinger here is that my 3 year warrenty ended about a month ago. Hah. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

hmm, thats difficult..i would suggest just talking to apple support or bringing it in to like best buy and having some guy work on it there...

  • Download music from ipod when opening iTunes for the first time?

I just got a new iMac at work and the first time I plugged my iPod into the comupter to charge it up it opened my iTunes and then started to download all my songs from my iPod. Being 7am I wasn't thinking properly and pressed cancle to stop the download, then I remember I have 500GB free memory and why shouldn't I have my music on the computer. The problem is I can't get it to download the music again. I know you not ment to be able to download from your ipod but that is what happened.
I have tried completely uninstalling iTunes by removing the icon in Applications and in the User>Music folder to get the same result but it makes no difference, where I once had a couple of meg's worth of music which had started to download I have none. Can somebody please explain to me how this happened and how I can revert iTunes back to how it was before I opened it so I can quickly download all my music onto my computer??

We'll unfortunately that's not true. I had though that was the case as well until this happened. I wasn't sure if this a new feature that iTunes had for when you first attach an ipod to a new iTunes (where you need to go through the terms and conditions, and set up your settings at the beginging).
I have downloaded very little from the iTunes store and the things which got downloaded were some funny adds which I had converted and put on my ipod as well as some AC/DC, some Beatles and a collection of 179 other songs (I'd be lucky if I've downloaded 5 songs in my life from iTunes). Before deleting everything in the hope that I could do it again I even played a couple of them in case all it had done was take the album artwork or something. But they all play fine and none of them were ones I had downloaded.
Does anyone know what's happened and how it can be repeated?
As to the other ways of getting music of your ipod I'm aware of them and have used irip in the past without any problems. I know how to do it that way but now that I have been made aware of this other way I was wanting to clear up how it happened and if it can be repeated, say if I was to reinstall iTunes.
