Getting generated keys inside Java

Is there any way to get generated keys in Java running on CF
server?
I have some java code accessed from CF, I get a connection to
the data source by name via
"coldfusion.server.DataSourceService.getDatasource(datasourceName).getConnection()"
call within java, which works. However if I try to do a
connection.prepareStatement(sql,
PreparedStatement.RETURN_GENERATED_KEYS) call or
preparedStatement.getGeneratedKeyts() call I get a
"java.lang.AbstractMethodError" exception like:
java.lang.AbstractMethodError:
coldfusion.server.j2ee.sql.JRunConnectionHandle.prepareStatement(Ljava/lang/String;I)Ljav a/sql/PreparedStatement;
Which seems to indicate to me that CF does not implement
getting generated keys via JDBC - is there another way or do I have
to just give up and do a "select" after "insert"?
Hope this made sense.
Thanks,
-HH
P.S. In case this is usefull, CF MX7 with MSSQL2005 , JDK
1.4

CF6/7 uses JDBC 2 so I don't think you can get it to work
there. In CF 8
it should work (if your database supports it).

  • Getting hostname from inside Java code...

    What is the easiest method to determine the hostname of the machine my appication is running on? Any code bits would be helpful.

    Couldn't you use something like:
    String host = getClass().getClassLoader().getResource(getClass() + ".class").getHost();
    With applets you can just call getCodeBase() and do stuff with that, but I think the above might work regardless of whether the object is an applet or not.

  • Generate public private keys inside smart card

    Dear all,
    I am using this code to generate public and private key inside the smart card.
    KeyPair kp = new KeyPair(KeyPair.ALG_RSA_CRT, KeyBuilder.LENGTH_RSA_512);
    kp.genKeyPair();
    PrivateKey prikey = kp.getPrivate();
    PublicKey pubkey = kp.getPublic();
    This code is executing without errors.
    I need to get out the public key from the smart card. So I need to get public key to a byte array.
    But I can't get those keys to plain text byte array.
    The methods that I can get for pubkey object are
    pubkey.clearKey();
    pubkey.equals(obj);
    pubkey.getSize();
    pubkey.getType();
    pubkey.isInitialized(); only these.
    I am using
    Eclipse Version: 3.4.1 (Compiler complience level = 1.4)
    Jcop plugin (to communicate with the actual card and to test the java code in virtual card provided by JCOP)
    OmniKey5321 card reader (In contactless type)
    What is the reason to get only those above methods to pubkey object? Is it a version problem?
    How can I get the public key to plain byte array? Is it possible?
    If it is not possible Is there a way to get public key as a export certificate or something other solution?
    If my scenario is not a possible strategy, How can I use public private keys to send specific data to applet? Is there a better way to do this?

    Thank you very much!
    I used this code
    RandomData rand = RandomData.getInstance(RandomData.ALG_SECURE_RANDOM);
              short lenBytes = (short) (KeyBuilder.LENGTH_DES/8);
              byte[] buffer = JCSystem.makeTransientByteArray(lenBytes,JCSystem.CLEAR_ON_DESELECT);
              DESKey key = (DESKey) KeyBuilder.buildKey(KeyBuilder.TYPE_DES , KeyBuilder.LENGTH_DES,false);
              rand.generateData(buffer, (short) 0 ,lenBytes);
              key.setKey(buffer, (short) 0 ) ;
              byte keyData[]= new byte[256];
              key.getKey(keyData, (short) 0);
    Now I know how to initialize the key...
    Thank you again.

  • Transportation lane KEY not getting generated in the table

    Transportation lane KEY not getting generated in the table
    Hi folks,
    The issue is like this :
    We have a weekly workorders upload program from legacy systems to SAP-APO. The legacy planners send a .CSV file containing material-wise workroders. A customised zee program picks these quantities & writes them in Prod.planned keyfigures in SNP planning book. This process is done for the manufacturing locations only.
    Lately workorders for two particular material M1 & M2 had failed to get upload. It gives the error 'NO VALID SOURCE OF SUPPLY COULD BE FOUND' in its Job log. We did some debugging & found that for successful materials the  TRPID is getting generated in the table /SAPAPO/V_TRPROD  whereas this TRPID is missing for M1 & M2. Why this is happening is our main concern. We tried deleting the PPM & creating this again, assuming that the PPMID is the precursor for generating this TRPID, but this yielded no results.
    ____ for successful upload______________
    se16 --> /SAPAPO/V_TRPROD
    Version = 000
    LOCTO = LOCID KEY for manufacturing location
    MATID = MATID KEY of successfully loaded workorder
    Enter
    This gives the following results
    TRPID = TRPID KEY
    LOCFR = LOCID KEY for manufacturing location
    LOCTO = LOCID KEY for manufacturing location
    MATID = MATID KEY for successfully loaded workorder
    ( This seems a self-lane, i.e both TO & FROM location are same)
    ____ for unsuccessful upload________
    se16 --> /SAPAPO/V_TRPROD
    Version = 000
    LOCTO = LOCID KEY for manufacturing location
    MATID = MATID KEY for unsuccessfully loaded workorder
    Enter
    This gives the following results
    Error = No Table entries found for specified KEYS
    We are perplexed why this TRPID is not getting generated for these two particular material M1 & M2?
    We have deleted their PPM & re-created them to cross-check if the PPMID KEY is the trigger for generating the TRPID key. This didn't work!
    Please let us know in case someone faced a similar issue.
    Many Thanks.

    Yes Anand.
    We deleted the PPM & created it again, which didn't work.
    Later on we deleted the product itself from APO & re-CIFed it from R3 & then re-created the PPM.
    The PPMID which was missing earlier is now getting created! However no luck with the TRPID.
    Why this TRPID is not getting generated in our only concern

  • Getting duplicate key Exception in java server faces

    I am getting duplicate key exception at some places in my JSF page .I have done the debugging of the java code but I didnt find any error in the code. Problem is occurring at the time of rendering the JSF page. I have done R&D on that but I am unable to find the solution. When JSF is rendering qualPersonResultTable in the page at that time I am getting Exception. I have visited the number of firm those were suggesting to assign the ID to all the component in the JSF which I have done but still I am getting the same error. In the database all the value are unique are there is primary key so there is only problem in rendering the JSF page.Exception is as follows :

  • How to disable a workflow from getting generated inside a workflow

    Hi,
    Background : I am using a sequential list workflow (VS 2010) in a SP 2010 site collection.
    Problem : the work flow gets generated when an item is created. Now the workflow code is also to create another few items in the same list, so again it will generate workflow, so in short workflows are getting generated inside a master workflow. I need only
    master workflow, how this can be achieved.
    Shameej

    check the below post on how you can silently update items
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2466533/sharepoint-workflow-how-to-update-the-item-without-triggering-the-workflow-agai
    or you can simply create a Boolean hidden flag in the list you can set as true and check for it in you workflow
    Hope that helps|Amr Fouad|MCTS,MCPD sharePoint 2010

  • How to get master key for strong composition detail

    Hi all,
    My Offline Database Diagram that I have drawn with JDeveloper uses the cascading delete option in foreign keys. When the master will be deleted, its details should be deleted as well. This has resulted in strong composition relationships between master and details.
    These relationships are covered by ADF BC Entity Associations and View Links.
    But what strikes me is that both AppModule tester and the JHeadstart first-cut application are not able to insert a new detail? They respond with:
    JBO-25030: Failed to find or invalidate owning entity
    I found an article of Steve Muench discussing this topic with a bare BC4J Java sample. How do I get this in my master/details Entity Impl's context? How can I get the key of the selected master in the create() method of the detail (Steve Muench selects the first row in the table)?
    I can't get rid of the strong association relationship in the Entity Association. It is automatically switched on when I switched it off.
    Anyone to help?
    thanks in advance,
    Martijn Peters

    Hi Markus,
    Thanks for your reply. Your hints describe how to manually set up a master-detail relationship at the View Objects level.
    Does this also work for master-detail entity objects that have a strong composition through CASCADE DELETE on the foreign keys in the database?
    What surprises me is that the BC4J wizard uses different approaches for creating a master with details with or without CASCADE DELETE.
    I would not expect different behavior for the create() operation in BC4J. I would only expect different behavior for remove() operations.
    Moreover it is strange that the generated View Objects can not be altered and that we depend on a workaround you described.
    Is their no risk for BC4J corruption when the master is deleted with the BC4J tester and that the database CASCADE deletes the details?
    JDeveloper 10.1.2 provides a pretty tool for designing and maintaining a database schema though an Offline Database Diagram.
    It shows the CASCADE DELETE option on foreign keys as a strong composition in an object oriented fashion.
    The ADF BC wizard is very powerful in making an object oriented abstraction of the database schema.
    However it seems to me that ADF BC does not seamlessly fit regarding compositions.
    Switching on CASCADE DELETE in the database causes master-details pages in JHeadstart to disfunction.
    Need this be improved in BC4J or am I wrong in the implied concepts?
    What Java code can I add in the create() methods of my Entity Object subclasses to get the same behavior of regular master-detail objects creation?

  • Question about generate key press event to system. help plz.

    I am wondering if it is possible to write a java program to generate key press event(not receiving)to the local system so all the other program in the system receive those key press event also. Thanks.

    Hi,
    :. I don't know what exactly you intend to accomplish. But, I have used the following code in order to simulate keys pressing inside a Java application.
          /* - - - Simulates TAB (java.awt.Event)
          EventQueue evtq = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getSystemEventQueue();
          evtq.postEvent( new KeyEvent(this, KeyEvent.KEY_PRESSED,
                          0, 0, KeyEvent.VK_TAB, KeyEvent.CHAR_UNDEFINED) );
          evtq.postEvent( new KeyEvent(this, KeyEvent.KEY_RELEASED,
                          0, 0, KeyEvent.VK_TAB, KeyEvent.CHAR_UNDEFINED) );
          /* - - - Simulates Shift+TAB (java.awt.Event)
          evtq.postEvent( new KeyEvent(this, KeyEvent.KEY_PRESSED, 0,
                          InputEvent.SHIFT_DOWN_MASK, KeyEvent.VK_TAB,
                          KeyEvent.CHAR_UNDEFINED) );
          evtq.postEvent( new KeyEvent(this, KeyEvent.KEY_RELEASED, 0,
                          InputEvent.SHIFT_DOWN_MASK, KeyEvent.VK_TAB,
                          KeyEvent.CHAR_UNDEFINED) );:. However, as far as I know to send keys to the whole OS you have to create a 'Hook' as described inside Win32API documentation. That's for Microsoft Windows naturaly.
    Cheers.

  • Prioryly generated key problem.

    public String encrypt(String password){
    String algo = "DESede";
    Cipher cipher = Cipher.getInstance(algo);
    String s = null;
    Key key = (Key)com.sun.crypto.provider.DESedeKey@4f9655f1;
    cipher.init(Cipher.ENCRYPT_MODE, key);
         byte[] inputBytes = password.getBytes();
         s = cipher.doFinal(inputBytes);
    return s;
    public String decrypt(String password){
    String algo = "DESede";
    Cipher cipher = Cipher.getInstance(algo);
    String s = null;
    Key key = (Key)com.sun.crypto.provider.DESedeKey@4f9655f1;
    cipher.init(Cipher.DECRYPT_MODE, key);
         byte[] vas = cipher.doFinal(password);
         String s = new String(vas);
         return s;
    I got a problem with the above code the character @ in the object com.sun.crypto.provider.DESedeKey@4f9655f1 does not compile in java, but I need to use it because its my pre generated key that i wish to use in encryption and decryption function.
    Thanks for the help in advance.

    Wow. This one is...surreal. Let's see:
    As silk.m noted, what you're trying to do doesn't make any sense. You need to have the bytes of the Key in order to recreate it. Use generatedKey.getEncoded() to get the byte[] that describes the Key, and then look at how to use DESedeKeySpec and SecretKeyFactory to recreate the Key object.
    On top of that, you have other problems.
    You can't just use byte[] plaintext = s.getBytes(). The default String encoding is different on different platforms. You need to tell getBytes() which encoding you really want.
    You're attempting to return the output of doFinal() as a String. You can't - it's a byte[]. You can't just return "new String(doFinalBytes)", either - ciphertext IS NOT "String-able". You'll need to Base64 it first.
    It's also possible you'll be bitten by having a plaintext that isn't an integral number of blocks. I don't recall if the default DESede uses padding, or assumes NoPadding.
    You've got some fixing to do...
    Good luck,
    Grant

    Hi Palani,
        When you use wsdl in your portal application, the NWDS by default it will create one interface and one java program in your project.  You just look into your application, there you can see the src.api and src.core folders.  Just check under the src.api, you will see the interface with the KEY value and in the src.core, you can find the java implementation program.  In this case, you are not going to give the KEY value.  So no need worry about this KEY value.   Suppose, if you want to give the KEY value, goto the interface and change the KEY value as your wish, but it should be unique value, say for example, <b>"com.webservice.componentName"</b>.

  • Schedule lines are not getting generated during MRP Run

    Schedule lines are not getting generated during MRP Run. I have maiantained source list for the material with proper validity date and also maintained scheduling agreement . MRP relevvant Indicator , I have marked - 2 which means -Record relevant to MRP. Sched. lines generated automatically.
    Still I am not able to get schedule lines and instead of that *Purchase Requisitions* are getting generated.
    Can any one help me and suggest me what to be done in this case .
    Thanks & Regards ,

    Dear,
    Welcome to SDN,
    In transaction OMDT you have to enable the indicator create schedule lines
    In MD02 MRP control Prameter here select the Delivery schedules -3- Schedule line. Processing Key as NETCH and Planning Mode - 3 delted and recreated.
    Maintain source list ME01, in that put MRP indicator as '2' i.e. schedule lines via MRP.Put your agreement no in that.
    If u run MRP properly u will get schedule lines automatically in ME38.
    Make the schedule agreement, make it source relevent in the source list make is FIX and MRP indicator as 3.

    Edited by: sampath s on Jul 13, 2011 11:31 AM

    Dear,
    In general MPS is run for High value items ( if you use like Gold , Platimum or A class items. ).
    Always only single level is used for Explosion and planning. then only you can analyse the requirements at each stage before procurement.
    Otherwise if you run MPS to multi level, Bottom most high value will be procured without any notice to authorities. Even you may cancel the process in mid way. At that time what will happen to the procured high value material.
    So for that purpose only single item single level MPS concept is evolved.
    Fo that you run MPS at single level so that only for the first level MPS will be carried out.
    Check and revert back.\
