Getting referrer in error page setup in web.xml

          Hello,
          Is it possible to get the referrer in a JSP when that JSP is
          set up as the error-page element in web.xml when a 404 (or
          any other http error) occurs?
          For example when I type www.me.com/page1.jsp and page1.jsp does
          not exist WLS sends me to my error page. However I want to know
          what page (in this case page1.jsp) it was trying to access.
          Wouldn't this typically be the referrer? When I itirate through
          the headers in my error page the referrer is not one of them.
          regards,
          [email protected]

          This works beautifully. Thank you!

  • ADF/Webcenter Portal Error Page configuration in web.xml

    Hi All,
    I am using jdeveloper version 11.1.1.6.0.
    I set two error pages in my application by following web.xml entries.
      <error-page>
        <error-code>404</error-code>
        <location>/oracle/webcenter/portalapp/pages/AfError.html</location>
      </error-page>
      <error-page>
        <error-code>503</error-code>
        <location>/oracle/webcenter/portalapp/pages/SiteMaintenance.html</location>
      </error-page>but it does not divert to the AfError.html page but shows 404 error.
    How to solve this.
    Is it possible to set .jspx page in location attribute also.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Require as early as possible

    Hi,
    this should be asked on the WebCenter forum. However, how likely is it that your error page also causes a 404 error? The message in you web.xml file are for site not found and site not available. So unless you redirect to something that is accessible you wont be able to tell whether it works or not

  • Define global error page on global-web.xml

    Dear fellows:
    We want to create a common 404 web error page for all our J2EE applications. We have added these error pages to the global-web.xml through the Visual Administrator:
      on several  system local folders such as:
    usrsap<SID><j2ee-instance>j2eecluster
    usrsap<SID><j2ee-instance>j2eecluster<server-inst>
    usrsap<SID><j2ee-instance>j2eecluster<server-inst>apps
    usrsap<SID><j2ee-instance>j2eecluster<server-inst>sap.com
    However, everytime we provoke the server error in order to retreive this Global Error Web Page, the system does not seem to find our custom error page, giving the following message:
    The request can’t be processed.
    Details: Requested resource ( /testerrorpage.html ) not found.
    We have discovered that the application was not trying to look up for our web Error page, but for another one located inside the application. However, we don't want to add a specific application web page but a global one common for all of them.
    Since there is not any common folder, such as global/root folder, we don’t know where the custom error page should be placed. Do we need to do something else?
    We are currently using WAS: 6.40 SP 11 PatchLevel 89291.313.
    Does anyone know how to configure this global error page? It is possible to do it?
    Thank you
    Gonzalo

    Hello,
    Yes, Uvaylo is right, the only way to edit the content of the global-web.xml is through the visual administrator --> Configuration Adapter.
    I have the same problem as Gonzalo, I have modified the global-web.xml and added custom errors pages for each HTTP error and exceptions. The big deal is when I try to specify in the <b>location</b> field of <b>error-page</b> item: I dont know where I should place my custom error page. I have tried the same paths as Gonzalo did with the same result, when the error event is raised the error page is not found. In the log appears the following entry:
    Processing an http request by the error page [/testerrorpage.html] finished with errors.
    Probably the exception [com.sap.engine.services.servlets_jsp.server.exceptions.ServletNotFoundException:
    Requested resource ( /custom_error.html ) not found.]
    thrown by the requested servlet [/testerrorpage.html] cannot be processed.
    The error is: com.sap.engine.services.servlets_jsp.server.exc
    Please help! Where can I place my custom error pages, to make them available for all the applications of the server?
    Thanks in advance for your help!

    Ideas?  I'm signing in as Administrator, so why would the operation not be allowed?
    This is a 7.0 system, and the instructions are for a nw2004 system.  We've successfully uploaded the web.xml file before, so I'm thinking that something has changed in 7.0 that's preventing the upload.

    This page of the documentation indicates that the technique is the correct case:

    1. The documentation is in error, or
    2. A bug has been introduced.

  • Getting and MDX Error while refreshing a WEBI Report

    Hi,
    I have a problem in developing/refreshing my Webi Info view report.
    I have my report like this.
    It has 15 dimensions and 3 measures.
    Purpose of the report is to display the purchase order details for a particular state/or all in a Country for a particular year.
    In this scenario my database has two Calendar Years: 2011 and 2012.
    And states (in US) as New York, Rhone Island etc..
    Here comes the typical issue.
    I have developed the report and when i m trying to refresh the report giving 2011 as Year and New York as State for prompts and generating the report.
    Now i m getting the error of MDX query; Below is the error message:
    "Database error: The MDX query SELECT  {  (Measures).[35LYTRYAVWK4BUTF5WL7PC9AR] }  ON COLUMNS , NON EMPTY UNORDER( FILTER( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN(  {  (0PLANT__0REGION).[US NY] } ,  {  (ZIPO_ID__ZCALYEAR).[2011] }  ),  (0PLANT).[LEVEL01].MEMBERS ),  (ZIPO_ID).[LEVEL01].MEMBERS ),  (0PUR_GROUP).[LEVEL01].MEMBERS ),  (ZIVENDOR).[LEVEL01].MEMBERS ),  {  (ZIPO_ID__ZIPRICING).[TIME & MATERIAL] }  ),  {  (ZIPO_ID__ZISEGMNT).[ELECTRIC],  (ZIPO_ID__ZISEGMNT).[GAS & ELECTRIC],  (ZIPO_ID__ZISEGMNT).[GAS] }  ), EXCEPT(  {  (ZIPO_ID__ZICLASS).[LEVEL01].MEMBERS } , {  {  (ZIPO_ID__ZICLASS).[STOCK] }  } ) ),  (0CONTRSTART).[LEVEL01].MEMBERS ),  (0CONTREND).[LEVEL01].MEMBERS ),  (ZIPO_ID__0ENTRY_DATE).[LEVEL01].MEMBERS ),  (ZIPO_ID__ZIPOAPDAT).[LEVEL01].MEMBERS ),   (Measures).[35LYTRYAVWK4BUTF5WL7PC9AR] > 100000) )  DIMENSION PROPERTIES MEMBER_NAME, MEMBER_CAPTION,  (0CONTREND).[20CONTREND],  (0CONTRSTART).[20CONTRSTART],  (ZIPO_ID).[2ZIPO_ID],  (ZIPO_ID__ZIPRICING).[1ZIPO_ID__ZIPRICING],  (ZIPO_ID__ZIPRICING).[2ZIPO_ID__ZIPRICING],  (ZIVENDOR).[20NAME],  (ZIVENDOR).[2ZIVENDOR] ON ROWS FROM  (ZSC_MPDTD/ZSC_MPDTD_QU0099)  failed to execute with the error Please enter a valid value for characteristic 0PLANT__0REGION.. (IES 10901) (WIS 10901)"
    This error is coming only when i m selecting 2011 and New York as prompt values.
    When i m selecting any other value combinations, i dont get any error.
    I m not sure why this error is coming.
    Actually to say there is no data for the combination 2011 and New York. So ideally it has to display "No Data to Retrieve".
    But this is not the case with these conditions.
    Please suggset.
    Thanks,
    Prasad.

    check the statement in transactions MDXTEST,
    check [US NY] in 0REGION as the stament is using (0PLANT__0REGION).[US NY]

    Hello,
    I do not see why you have this error, is it the only log entry that you have? Anything in the application.log?
    Can you send me the ear? tugdual [dot] grall [at] oracle [dot] com

    Hi,

    <location>/rc/systemError.jsf</location>
    </error-page>
    </web-app>
    As per the configuration, when exception is thrown out of the application, container tries to display systemError.jsp page. If we want to include the JSF tags in systemError.jsp page, the request should pass through FacesServlet, so in the <error-page> <location> tag systemError page is specified with the extention systemError.jsf though it's actual extention is .jsp
    When exception is thrown from the application container invoke the error page but, while rendering systemError.jsf page exception is thrown saying "Exception processing error page "systemError.jsp" "
    To solve this problem i've gone through several forums, materials.
    In one forum a guy said, JSF1.1 spec has some problem in displaying error pages. To solve this don't write <f:view> tags in the error page, use <f:subview> intstead. By reading this, i again changed the contents of systemError.jsp page replacing <f:view> by <f:subview>. But the error is still repeating.
    Finally what i found is, when we use Ajax4jsf in the application, its AjaxViewRender class is throwing exception while rendering error pages configured through web.xml.
    So what i did is i changed error page extention from .jsf to .jsp in the <location> tag. Now jsf won't come in the picture and remove JSF related tags from the systemError.jsp page.
    <error-page>
    <exception-type>java.lang.Throwable</exception-type>
    <location>/rc/systemError.jsp</location>
    </error-page>
    Any comments are welcome----------------------------------------------------------------

    I too iam facing the same problem could you advise if you have found any solutions

  • Error-page tag not valid in global-web-application.xml ?

    Hi!
    From what I understand about the global-web-application.xml file in Oracle's documentation, the content of the web-app tag should be inherited to all web application as a web.xml content.
    One of the web.xml tags is error-page, which contains the page url for the standard return codes (404, 500, and so on).
    If I put the error-page on the web.xml inside a web application, it works as expected.
    But if I don't put this tag inside the web applicaction, but in the global-web-applicacion.xml (web-app) tag, it doesn't work.
    We are testing the 404 error page, but I don't know if it is because the application server can't find the error page or because the global-web-application.xml isn't being inherited correctly.
    Where is this file supposed to be looked for? Or the only way to do this is by writing the configuration on all web applications?
    We are using 9.0.3

    Just refreshing... Does anyone have any idea?
