Getting result from multiple check boxes

We want to get the value from checkboxes as
input type=checkbox name="aa"
input type=checkbox name="aa"
now we want to get the value if user checked the box then on else off

Well the only way you can distinguish between the two is if you give them seperate values
otherwise all you will get is aa=on - how do you know which one is on?
<input type="checkbox" name="aa" value="1">
<input type="checkbox" name="aa" value="2">
If they click both you will get parameters: aa=1, aa=2
If they click only one, you will only get one parameter: eg aa=1
If they click no checkboxes, no parameters are submitted.
Thats the way it works.

The data model is not proper. Why should you store the game details in separate tables?
IMO its just matter of putting them in same table with additional field gamename to indicate the game. That would have been much easier to query and retrieve results

Collecting values from multiple check boxes with same name

Hi,
I have a jsp-page with one form with several check boxes sharing the same
name (but with different values).
Can I collect the values in an array/list or something?
/jsp-beginner and google ain't my friend in this case

Two clicks required to get results from Search Input box on toolbar.

I'm running version 8.02.208.
I'm new at Webhelp and was hoping somebody might be able to give me some pointers.
If I open my published webhelp on the Internet and try to search using the Search Input box on the toolbar the first time, two clicks are required in order to get search results.
This problem only appears the first time, all other searches from the Search Input box on the toolbar work properly with only one click required.
In addition, the Search tool opened from the Search button always works fine first and every time, but I did see the extra space that I've read about.
This is what I don't understand...the problem I mentioned with the 2 clicks required on the toolbar, never happens when I Generate and View the results. Meaning that I am looking at the output but have not published it yet. It works fine first and every time.
Why would the problem show up one way and not the other? Does anyone know what could be different?
I just keep hoping that there is something that I can do to get rid of the problem. I keep getting Problem Reports opened and assigned to me and complaints from customer service from customers. They think the search isn't working and I keep having to explain.....arghhhh!

Hi Sheryl and Peter,
I have also tried the options as you have suggested without success. Everything works fine when the WebHelp is published to a local or network drive but when it is published to the server the issue occurs.
I would point out too, that I find that the problem with the space only occurs on the intial attempt to search using the Search Box. Any subsequent attempts without closing the browser appear to work fine.

I have a database of the membership of a club. One field in the database is input by checking multiple check boxes. When the insert member record is submitted and multiple check boxes are selected, the information becomes an array of text separated by commas. When the user goes back to the update form, the check boxes are not showing checked in the appropriate fields. Thanks for getting back with me. I do have two tables. One table is the "members" table where all the information for the members is stored. One of the columns is "currentClubPositions". The database has another table which is "positions" which has the list for the positions that a member of the club could serve on. Members of the club may be serving on a number of positions at once, therefore the check boxes. Also, the club is adding and deleting positions over time, so I wanted an easy way to add them and delete them without having to go into phpmyadmin to do this. I have created a form that updates the "positions" table. The check boxes that show up in the insert member record and update member record are dynamic so that when the table "positions" changes, the forms change dynamically as do the queries to sort the database change dynamicaly. When the check boxes are entered, I use the implode function to make the values an array of text separated by commas and that value is inserted in one field of the members table named "currentClubPosition". Question :- My client needs a get information from multiple list from the same site to be displayed on the page,
they would need a dropdown list with the user names , and once a user is selected all the tasks and calendar entries of the user must be filtered and displayed.
Please suggest how this can be achieved.

Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to get information from multiple lists once a user was selected.
There is no out of the box way to accomplish this with SharePoint.
As a workaround, I recommend to create a list to store the user names. Then you can create relationships between lists using the browser UI. Once you select the user name in the parent list, the associated items will be displayed in the child lists.

Thanks for your response, but copying and pasting creates a link. If the user places a check mark in one of the boxes, all the rest of the boxes will have a check mark also. I will research this some more.

Exporting Text from multiple text boxes?

I'm using InDesign CS3 on the Macintosh. I need to export text from multiple text boxes/stories into one text file. The Export File command only exports text when the text tool is selected and the cursor is in the text box. Unfortunately, I have 8-20 individual text boxes per page, none are linked, and my document is 100+ pages, so selecting each text box individually is much too time consuming. There must be a better way - Please help!

The text exporter plug-in seems to work! I did a quick test - text still will need some clean-up to make sure it's in the correct order, but MUCH better than exporting each story individually. THANKS!

I am viewing your question from different perspective, that is, the issue that you face when you are ripping VOBs from a second DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc using Premiere Elements,
It is best to give the Premiere Elements version and computer operating system that it is running on. In the absence of that, I will generalize.
Assuming that you are using
Premiere Elements 12
Add Media
"DVD Camera or Computer Drive"
Video Importer
Typically the Video Importer Save In: is C:\Users\Owner\Videos
Each of your DVD discs is going to have the same names for the ripped VOBs (VTS_01_1.VOB and so on depending on the duration of the movie). Consequently, after the ripping of the first DVD's VOBs and their save to Videos, you will end up with that "files already existing..." block for the ripping of the VOBs from the second DVD.
The answer is, for each DVD disc VOB ripping, to plan ahead and create and set for different folders in Videos in the Save In field of the Video Importer.

there should be a result iterator in the Executables section which cotnains the result. If not, create it from the WS result entry in the DC palette. Once this iterator gets updated, you get the data from this iterator as it would be the case of a table accesses the WS

Fastest way to get data from Multiple lists across multiple site collections

I need to get data from multiple lists which spread across 20 site collections and need to show it as list view.
I have searched on internet about this and got some info like options would be to use search core APIs or BCS . I can't use search because I want real time data. Not sure of any other ways.

Might LINQ be an option for you? Using
LINQPad and the
SharePoint Connector, you should be able to write a query that'll retrieve this data, from which you can tabulate it. I'm not sure how you'd be able to automate this any further so that it's then imported in as list.
For something more specific, I used a third party tool called the
Lightning Tools Lightning Conductor, which is essence a powerful content roll-up tool. In one of my solutions, I created a calculated column that gave an order / ranking on each item, so that when lists were combined, they'd still have some form of
order. The web part is also fairly customisable and has always proven a useful tool.
