Getting statistic report on loaded SWF

Hi All
I am stuck in an isse. I have a fully Flash site, I have used
loadMovie functions all around the site for navigating the pages.
As this is a flash site, I have only one .html page, but I need to
know which page a user has visited most. For that I need to keep
the track of the loade movies, is there any way through which I can
keep a statistics of the loaded movies?
you may have a look on the site if you like, it's:
www.epocharchiving.com.
Awaiting a reply from some genious.
Regards
Amalendu

That would greatly depend on a 'backend'. When a swf is
loaded it can contain code that calls a javascript function in the
html page and that javascript could make a call to a 1 by 1 gif
(some programs that show statisticsu se this method). But using
server side software and the sendAndLoad() method of the LoadVars
object you could save the calls to the swf's in a database.

  • Loading SWF with audio playing in it...

    I was loading a SWF file, and noticed that even if I didn't
    add it to the display via addChild() that I can hear the audio
    playing in it. Why is this? And likewise, when I do addChild(), and
    see the SWF, then later use removeChild(), and no longer see it, I
    can still hear it playing.
    I can sort of understand that even though it's not displayed
    until using addChild() that one would HEAR it, because it is loaded
    - correct? But how would I actually get rid of/delete this when I
    no longer want to see/hear it ?

    Thanks to the both of you! I'd like to see the things you do
    to "close up shop" on the loaded SWF.
    I also found something about getting access to your loaded
    SWF here:
    TextAccessing
    document class of an externally loaded swf with AS3
    That blog describes adding a generic object in the complete
    listener:
    var loaderInfo:LoaderInfo = e.target as LoaderInfo;
    var myLoadedSWF:Object = loaderInfo.content;
    You can then target myLoadedSWF and access your SWF. Seems
    pretty different than AS1 & 2, but I suppose that's how it is
    (unless there are better ways).

  • How can I get stage width of an loaded swf?

    Is there any way to get the real stageWidth of an loaded swf?
    The problem comes when the loaded swf has some elements outside the scene. In this case content.width becomes bigger then the scene.
    My code looks like this:
    var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest(file.url);
    var loader:Loader = new Loader();
    loader.load(request);
    loader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.INIT, checkSize);
    loader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, addImg);
    private function checkSize(e:Event) {
                // this is where I need to see the width of my loaded swf
    trace(e.target.content.width);
    private function addImg(e:Event) {
                    trace("complete");
    Thanks,
    Andrei

    I don't think you can get the stage width of the loaded file unless you assign it as a constant somewhere within the file.  The loaded file forfeits its stage when it is loaded into another swf

  • When I publish projects with AICC reporting enabled the SWF "breaks" and does not load.

    When I publish projects with AICC reporting enabled the SWF "breaks" and does not load. If I change the publish method to SCORM the SWF works, and if I turn off reporting the SWF also works.

    OK.  That makes sense now.  Captivate 6 changed over to Rustici's LMS drivers.  Cp7 must have made even further changes that mean you must have an LMS present if you turn on reporting.
    I would suggest you just turn off reporting while you are testing other aspects of the course functionality during development, and only turn on reporting when you are ready to upload to your LMS.

  • Load swf and get a SimpleButton in it

    I load a swf and want to get a button in the swf. But the button I get is NULL. I am sure the button's name is right and exists. Could somebody help me to solve this problem?
    package
    import flash.display.MovieClip;
    import flash.net.URLRequest;
    import flash.display.Loader;
    import flash.events.Event;
    import flash.events.ProgressEvent;
    import flash.display.SimpleButton;
    import flash.display.LoaderInfo;
    public class MyClass1 extends MovieClip
      public function MyClass1()
       super();
       var swfLoader:Loader = new Loader();
       addChild(swfLoader);
       var bgURL:URLRequest = new URLRequest("secondFlash.swf");
       swfLoader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, loadProdComplete);
       swfLoader.load(bgURL);
       var currentSWF:MovieClip = new MovieClip();
       function loadProdComplete(e:Event):void {
         var loaderInfo:LoaderInfo = e.target as LoaderInfo;
          var mv:MovieClip= MovieClip(loaderInfo.content);
        var btn1 = mv.getChildByName("btn1") as SimpleButton;
        trace("mv"+mv);
        trace("btn1="+btn1);

    The code you show works fine for me.  How is btn1 created/named in the second swf file?  If you create it dynamically and do not assign a name property to it, it does not have the name you think it does.

  • Getting properties from loaded swf

    hi there,
    I am loading different swfs into my loader object "loader"
    and I also have a description of each swf below it ("desc"
    "desc_back").. Each swf is different in size and i want to move/
    scale "desc" and "desc_back" it to fit. This seems to be kind of
    working but it changes to fit the loaded swf before the one I want
    it to. it is if it is taking the properties of the last loaded swf
    instead of the one just loaded...I have tryed using an onload
    listener amoung a number of things. my action script is not very
    strong so it could be something simple.
    thanks :)

    you must wait until loading is complete before trying to
    access the _width and _height of the about-to-be-loaded swf. ie,
    use preloader code or the onLoadInit() method of the
    moviecliploader class.

  • Get externallu loaded swf frame length?...

    Hi all,
    I need to know the frame length of a swf loaded via
    loadMovie().
    I want to stop the loaded swf playback before it reaches its
    last frame. So I need to extract
    (detect) the frame length of the swf, and call a function
    when the swf reaches the second to last frame.
    Is this possible?
    PS: I am not fluent in AS, so please provide some kind of

  • Loaded SWF not displaying

    I've created a 'plugin' SWF file in CS3 using actionscript 3.
    The purpose of this file is to be included as a postroll in the
    open source flash media player JW FLV/Media Player (
    http://www.jeroenwijering.com/?item=JW_Media_Player).
    I have heavily customized the media player libraries to do
    various new things/alter how things worked, and now want to be able
    to include the SWF file within this into a child sprite/movie clip.
    HOWEVER, the problem lies in that the media player is written
    completely in AS2, and therefore I have to use the MovieClipLoader
    class to load in the SWF. Updating the source to AS3 isn't an
    option unfortunatly, and downgrading the AS3 SWF to AS2 isn't an
    option either, mainly due to the fact I've learnt AS3, not AS2, and
    find it frustrating trying to find the AS2 equivalent to the AS3
    methods I know.
    The problem though lies in that MovieClipLoader does not like
    my SWF at all. Initially I was presented with a load of sandbox
    errors from when it was loaded in, which I then resolved so that no
    security errors are produced. However, whenever I load in the clip,
    the target sprite/clip is empty. I have gone through checking that
    no errors occur on load, and it reports that the loaded SWF has
    been initialized, yet I see nothing. Also, the code loading the SWF
    is not at fault as it loads any other SWF (even another AS3 SWF
    which just creates a rectangle) no problem.
    Oddly enough, using the MovieClip.loadMovie method works in
    one situation - when you load it into the root of the AS2 file.
    When loading it into an empty movie clip, the same problem of a
    blank clip occurs. The problem is not specific to the media player
    either, as it happened in any AS2 file where I was testing how to
    load in the AS3 SWF.
    If it is of any use, the sandbox errors produced by the AS3
    file when loaded into AS2 swf I had to resolve where to do with
    stage access for getting the stage height and width, and a
    Loader.content error when pulling out the BitmapData. These were
    resolved via setting the allowed domains policy and eliminating any
    reference to stage.stageHeight/With.
    Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this? The only
    possible solution I've been able to think of so far since the AS3
    swf won't display is to play with the LocalConnection class as
    tests showed I can communicate between the AS2 and AS3 files, but
    this would have to be a last resort, and is less than ideal when
    there can be multiple instances of the player running (I would need
    to use unique connection names for each instance so as to prevent
    player A interacting with player B, and also as only one of the
    players can listen on the connection at once).

    I have the component in the top level also,
    I get this error:
    TypeError: Error #2007: Parameter child must be non-null.

    I've checked the definitions for the tree component,
    The LabelButton and List I don't have much control over.
    I'm not sure how to fix this.  The xml is correct and loads easily if it's in the root document.
    The list component doesn't load the labels, It stops on the first one.
      What do I do next?

  • How to manage ApplicationDomain for loaded SWFs across different domains?

    I've been getting this following error -- when I'm loading a subsidiary SWF into a main one. The sub swf contains the overlays. OverlayOne is a subclass of Overlay.
    TypeError: Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert OverlayOne@18684f89 to Overlay.
         at HSRawVideoPlayer/setCurrentOverLay()
         at HSRawVideoPlayer/showOverlay()
         at HSRawVideoPlayer/dotRoll()
    I googled and found that I should probably be setting the applicationDomain of the loader context of the loaded swf to be that of the loading SWF (as per Senocular's article on the subject) -- although I thought that in cases of conflict this would resolve to the loading SWFs ApplicationDomain, so not necessary.
    But I've also read that this won't work across different domains, and that's the situation here -- the client wants the urls of loading and loaded swf's to be fully qualified . Will setting the ApplicationDomain of the loaded SWF to be that of the parent solve the problem above, even if they are in different domains? Can someone show me a short code snippet? Thanks!

    Hi,
    DSS has inbuilt functionalities to compare the transactions against the in built rules.If the transactions take place not in accordance with the in-built rules,it is treated as a "violation" and is reporetd.
    Virsa is an example of DSS tool.Here you can build rules for access and process ;constantly compare the actuals Vs the rules;report the violations.
    In SAP R3 for example,the T/code:pfcg is tailored for access control,while the invoice parking [f-63] is tailored for process control.Using VIRSA,you can address to risks involved both,namely,access and process control.This is an example of how DSS can help in Risk integration.
    In these tools,we have an Engine for building the rules-based on this we build the rules.These rules are stored in a table.when a transaction-for which we have built a rule - takes place,the system compares the rules VS actuals.The inconsistencies if any are reported as violations.
    Hope this helps.

    Ramesh

    If you managed to get to the point where the applet container is created (the "gray square"), but the form never appears then you can assume one or more of the following has occurred:
    1. The JRE crashed after startup. Many times, but not always, if such a crash occurs it will leave a JRE dump file on the desktop. Its content may help to identify the cause.
    2. The Forms runtime crashed at startup. Many times, but not always, a Forms dump file will be created on the server. Its content may help to identify the cause.
    3. The Forms runtime was unable to start at all. This can occur on unix systems when/if there is a resource or permissions issue. One of the more common causes is if the file descriptor (nofiles) value is set too low.
    4. The applet is actually running, but has attempted to display a dialog box and is awaiting your acknowledgement, but the box was wrongfully sent to the background behind the browser. A similar issue was reported in one of the JRE 1.6.0_xx series, however I don't recall which one. Uninstall your current version and install the latest which is 1.6.0_27
    There are other possibilities, but these are most common.
    I would recommend the following:
    1. Uninstall any JRE older than 1.6.0_27. Reboot. Install 1.6.0_27
    2. Set networkRetries=5 in formsweb.cfg
    3. Set FORMS_TIMEOUT to 15 (default). Setting to a high value as you have is not recommended and is rarely necessary.
    4. Verify that the test form works. For example:
    http://machine:port/forms/frmservlet?form=test
    5. It appears that you are trying to use WU_TEST_106.fmx. Instead, download an updated version of this file (the name has also changed)
    http://www.oracle.com/ocom/groups/public/@otn/documents/webcontent/196249.zip
    6. Ensure that you have compiled webutil.pll into .plx. Do not use an old version of this file. The installation will include one. If not, check for it in an installation that also includes the Builders.

  • Error in report generation-Load report failed

    I have installed crystal reports  for VS2005 runtime in my live environment.When i try to load the report file from a .Net page i am getting the error'Error in Report generation-Load report failed'.
    This works fine in development and testing but when moved to production we are having issues.
    I believe i have a workaround i.e i need to open the rpt in a VS 2005 environment and re-write the connection string again.This fix had worked in development and testing when we had the same issue.
    But not sure if this is a known issue with crystal reports and if so do we have any hot fixes for the same.
    Please help.

    Hi Don,
    The reason why i posted the item on 'data Connectivity issues' is because i suspect the problem is with the connection string.Though i had provided the correct connection string,re-writing the connection string with the same info might help to fix the issue with loading the report.
    Does it mean that there is a problem in the connectivity?
    I have a risk here that i cant re-write the connection string..i.e to open the RPT file in VS2005 and bind it.The production web server & database server sits in a  third party environment and it is not in the company network.So i cant connect to this server to re-write from any other severs in the network.
    Is there any fix which can applied to the server to get this issue resolved?
    Cheers
    Nithya.

    The server is a 2003 server.
    The reports are  loaded into the app using vb code.
    My version creates a message the filename is empty on initial loading of the report

    Hi,
    "The report filename was empty." is not a Crystal Reports error.
    Specify what the application exactly does i.e. view report, print, export report etc.
    Take a look at below thread.
    [Preview in web using Crystal Report Viewer Message:|Preview in web using Crystal Report Viewer Message:]
    Recheck the flow of the application if everything is in place.

    Apply [SP2 on CR for VS 2010|http://downloads.businessobjects.com/akdlm/cr4vs2010/CRforVS_13_0_2.exe]
    Just as a test try a sample application without the telerik framework, see if it reproduces the issue.
