Getting the constraint name with sql%bulk_exceptions
Hello folks,
Is there any way to get the constraint name that was violated using sql%bulk_exceptions.
I've a parent table and it's two children tables. When I try to delete from parent using forall, save exceptions, I want to know what constraint violated at what iteration of a bulk operation.
I've following script.
set serveroutput on
drop table chld;
drop table chld2;
drop table prnt;
create table prnt(n number primary key);
insert into prnt select level from dual connect by level<11;
create table chld(cn number references prnt(n));
insert into chld select level from dual connect by level<3;
create table chld2(cn number references prnt(n));
insert into chld2 select level*3 from dual connect by level<3;
select * from prnt;
select * from chld;
select * from chld2;
commit;
declare
type t_prnt_obj is table of prnt.n%type index by pls_integer;
t_prnt_tab t_prnt_obj;
l_exp_cnt integer;
begin
select n bulk collect into t_prnt_tab from prnt order by n;
dbms_output.put_line('t_prnt_tab.count -- '||t_prnt_tab.count);
forall i in t_prnt_tab.first .. t_prnt_tab.last save exceptions
delete prnt where n = t_prnt_tab(i);
exception
when others
then
l_exp_cnt := sql%bulk_exceptions.count;
dbms_output.put_line('Total exceptions:'|| l_exp_cnt);
for k in 1 .. l_exp_cnt
loop
dbms_output.put_line('Error '||k|| ' - Collection Index: '||sql%bulk_exceptions(k).error_index||' - Error Code: '|| sql%bulk_exceptions(k).error_code||' - Message: '||SQLERRM(- sql%bulk_exceptions(k).error_code) );
end loop;
end;I get the output as below:
t_prnt_tab.count -- 10
Total exceptions:4
Error 1 - Collection Index: 1 - Error Code: 2292 - Message: ORA-02292: integrity constraint (.) violated - child record found
Error 2 - Collection Index: 2 - Error Code: 2292 - Message: ORA-02292: integrity constraint (.) violated - child record found
Error 3 - Collection Index: 3 - Error Code: 2292 - Message: ORA-02292: integrity constraint (.) violated - child record found
Error 4 - Collection Index: 6 - Error Code: 2292 - Message: ORA-02292: integrity constraint (.) violated - child record foundInstead, I want to get in output with the constraint_name added. Like below:
t_prnt_tab.count -- 10
Total exceptions:4
Error 1 - Collection Index: 1 - Error Code: 2292 - Message: ORA-02292: integrity constraint (GK.CP_FK) violated - child record found
Error 1 - Collection Index: 1 - Error Code: 2292 - Message: ORA-02292: integrity constraint (GK.CP_FK) violated - child record found
Error 1 - Collection Index: 1 - Error Code: 2292 - Message: ORA-02292: integrity constraint (GK.C2P_FK) violated - child record found
Error 1 - Collection Index: 1 - Error Code: 2292 - Message: ORA-02292: integrity constraint (GK.C2P_FK) violated - child record foundIs it possible, if so how do I get it?
Thanks in advance for you help.

How can I get the path name and rename it?
I Hope someone who knows more about automator than I can help me out here. What I'm trying to do is get the path file name, while also changing part of it. Here is my example:
I can get the path name with this "Get Path" script I found http://automatorworld.com/archives/get-path/all-comments/
It does half the job so I just need to tweak it but know how. When I get the path this is what I'll get: /Volumes/Public/Creative Services/Campaigns/2010/NCDDiv-32CDV Upgrade/NCDDIV-32Versions.xls
I need to remove the beginning part"/volumes" to "file://///nhmanmkt01"
This is so I can send the path from our sever where we keep our files to my windows friends so they can open it.
Thanks for any help you can provide!ok, make the following workflow.

I have multiple album titles of the same name with different artists. How can I get them to go under one album title again?
In iTunes(on a Mac or PC) just tap on 'Albums' rather than 'Artists' and you'll see them all together.
You may find that there are songs mislabelled. In which case right tap on the Album or Artist and tap 'Get Info', then change to the correct name and the songs will join the rest of the songs for that Artist or Album.
Then resync with your iPhone and all will be well. -
How to get the IDOC name attached with message type (IDoc at receiver end)
Hello Friends,
I have configured the Order Confirmation Idoc.And the port used is XML_HTTP. in this port generally the idocs are sent to a java servlet.
So there the idocs are being created with name :- Idoc_no.XML
but i need to get the IDoc name prefixed or attached with the message type name, that the particular idoc uses.
waiting for your replies .
thanks,
jeevanHi Jeevan,
I am sorry for the confusion, the solution i provided is used when we go for XML FILe port. But when we go for XML HTTP port, this option is not available in SAP. So we need to check with the target system, whether there is any option available to read the file contents before saving , so that we can save the idoc with the required file name .
With my knowledge i assume why this option is not there for XML HTTP port is when we use XML HTTP port the idoc will be converted into XML and will be transported over HTTP protocol to an remote system which may be any type like XI, Java Servlet, Business connector, .Net etc. So in that case all the systems may not support the file name what we propose from the SAP. This is my assumption.
Please go through the help provided by SAP for XML Port types
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/21/e9c975eb1911d6b2ea00508b6b8a93/frameset.htm
Please check with the Java guys who are working at the target end, whehter they may help you to resolve.
Thanks & Regards

Get the column names of a query (in own plugin)
Hi,
I'm developing my first plugin. It is a region plugin where the plugin-user passes a sql query as the source that the plugin will turn into a formated report.
I found how to retreive the query result by using APEX_PLUGIN_UTIL.GET_DATA functions. Since it is an array, it is simple to cycle through the data rows. But how can i figure out
1) how many columns the query returns
2) whats the name of the columns is?
Thanks a lot in advance for any hint...
Cheers, HansHi Hans,
the package APEX_PLUGIN_UTIL provides everything you need. No need to do your own DBMS_SQL handling!
Have a look at the API documentation and the example of GET_DATA at http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23903_01/doc/doc.41/e21676/apex_plugin_util.htm#BABFBIJD
The t_column_value_list record type is a two dimensional array defined as
type t_column_value_list is table of wwv_flow_global.vc_arr2 index by pls_integer;The first array contains an entry for each column.
l_column_value_list.COUNTcan be used to get the number of columns.
l_column_value_list(1).COUNTcan be used to get the number of rows. An example to iterate over all columns and rows:
for l_column in 1 .. l_column_value_list.count loop
for l_row in 1 .. l_column_value_list(l_column).count loop
sys.htp.p('column#=' || l_column || ' row=' || l_row || ' value: ' || l_column_value_list(l_column)(l_row));
end loop;
end loop;If you need the name of the columns and maybe the original data type and not everything converted to VARCHAR2 you have to use the more sophisticated GET_DATA2. See http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23903_01/doc/doc.41/e21676/apex_plugin_util.htm#BABFJHAI
This function returns the record type t_column_value_list2 which is defined as
type t_value is record (
varchar2_value varchar2(32767),
number_value number,
date_value date,
timestamp_value timestamp,
timestamp_tz_value timestamp with time zone,
timestamp_ltz_value timestamp with local time zone,
interval_y2m_value interval year to month,
interval_d2s_value interval day to second,
blob_value blob,
bfile_value bfile,
clob_value clob );
type t_value_list is table of t_value index by pls_integer;
type t_column_values is record (
name varchar2(32767),
data_type varchar2(20), /* use c_data_type_* constants to compare */
value_list t_value_list );
type t_column_value_list2 is table of t_column_values index by pls_integer;Again, it's some kind of two dimensional array. The first dimensions are the columns. But this time you also get some details of the parsed column. For example:
for l_column in 1 .. l_column_value_list2.COUNT loop
sys.htp.p('Column Name: ' || l_column_value_list2(l_column).name || ' Data Type: ' || l_column_value_list2(l_column).data_type );
end loop;Will return you all the columns of the SQL statement. Using "name" and "data_type" you can get the column name and the data type. To access the values you can use
for l_column in 1 .. l_column_value_list2.COUNT loop
sys.htp.p('Column Name: ' || l_column_value_list2(l_column).name || ' Data Type: ' || l_column_value_list2(l_column).data_type );
for l_rows in 1 .. l_column_value_list2(l_column).value_list.COUNT loop
sys.htp.p(
'row=' || l_row || ' value: ' ||
apex_plugin_util.get_value_as_varchar2 (
p_data_type => l_column_value_list2(l_column).data_type,
p_value => l_column_value_list2(l_column).value_list(l_row) );
end loop;
end loop;I used apex_plugin_util.get_value_as_varchar2 to always get a VARCHAR2, independent of the actual data type of the column. If you need the original data type, use "number_value", ... of the t_value record type.
Hope that gives you a direction
Patrick

Patrick

Hi,
I'm new to PL/SQL XML programming. I have difficulty in getting the childnode name and its value. Can you please give me a code snippet about this? Below is my XML sample.
<INFORMATION>
<ADDRESS>
<CITY>NEW JERSEY</CITY>
</ADDRESS>
<ADDRESS>
<CITY>NEW YORK</CITY>
</ADDRESS>
<NAME>
<FIRST_NAME>JOHN<FIRST_NAME>
<MIDDLE_NAME>APPLE<MIDDLE_NAME>
<LAST_NAME>SMITH<LAST_NAME>
</NAME>
<NAME>
<FIRST_NAME>MICHAEL<FIRST_NAME>
<MIDDLE_NAME>JEANS<MIDDLE_NAME>
<LAST_NAME>MAC<LAST_NAME>
</NAME>
</INFORMATION>
In this example, I want to get the ADDRESS and NAME and its children (FIRST_NAME, MIDDLE_NAME and LAST_NAME) because I will use it to get its value. I am using Oracle 10.1 and 10.2.
Your help is highly appreciated.
Thanks,
JunIf you requiring a solution that works on both 10.1 and 10.2, you will need to use table(xmlsequence()). I say this because your sample XML has two NAME nodes and I'm assuming you want the values from both NAME nodes. If you were doing just >= 10.2 then you could use XMLTable, which is a replacement for table(xmlsequence()). Here is an example [using XMLTable|http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=3146500] and here is one showing some other methods for [extracting from XML|http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=2826611]. I don't have any table(xmlsequence()) examples but with a little research using that hint and the first example you should be able to build what is needed.

How do I get the procedure name
Hi,
With help of our application we are updating one table (P_Balance) in this account status and date through some procedures.
in some situation only account status column get proper value, but date column having NULL value.
Now we decided to track this, through which procedure this date column get updated null value.
For this I decided to write one trigger for the table "P_BALANCE" through which procedure this update is happening.
How do I get the procedure name.You could use DBMS_UTILITY.FORMAT_CALL_STACK and do it. Something like this.
SQL> create table track_call_stack
2 (
3 program_name varchar2(30),
4 call_stack varchar2(4000)

Table created.
SQL> create table t

3 no integer

Table created.
SQL> create or replace trigger t_trig before insert on t for each row
2 begin
3 if :new.no is null then
4 insert into track_call_stack
5 (
6 program_name,
7 call_stack
8 )
9 values
10 (
11 'T_TRIG',
12 dbms_utility.format_call_stack
13 );
14 end if;
15 end;
16 /
Trigger created.
SQL> insert into t values (null);
1 row created.
SQL> select * from track_call_stack;
