Getting the metadata of procedures defined inside packages...

Dear All,
i want to extract the metadata for procedures and functions in my db.
i am using the DBMS_METADATA.GET_DDL(ObjectType,ObjectName) to get the metadata of certain objects (PROCEDURES,FUNCTIONS and PACKAGE_BODY)
however this method is not quiet usefull when my target is to get the metadata for a single procedure/function defined inside package's body', where i dont need
the whole package body to be returned only the specific Procedure/ Function defined in it...
it seems that the Package Body is defined as one object regardless of how many Procedures / Functions are defined in it...
isnt there any place/repository that stores the procedures and functions defined inside a package body along with their metadata explicitly one bye one , so i can
extract them and search them one bye one...
Thank you
Basem Sayej...

The whole point about defining procedures inside package bodies is that they are private. They are only exposed to those who have the necessary privileges to view the body's source code.
Cheers, APC

    Added some unit tests to get the metadata package above 80%
    Modified Paths:
        osmf/trunk/framework/MediaFrameworkFlexTest/org/osmf/metadata/TestTemporalFacet.as

    The nature of the Media class is that it accesses it asynchronously. This means that when you create an instance of it, and then immediately query it, the data you want may not be available yet. This is all in the Javadoc, see the doc for Media:
    The media information is obtained asynchronously and so not necessarily available immediately after instantiation of the class. All information should however be available if the instance has been associated with a MediaPlayer and that player has transitioned to MediaPlayer.Status.READY statusSo you could associate the Media with a MediaPlayer, and then wait until it goes to the Status READY, and then read the length of the Media.
    As for your 2nd question, getMetadata() returns a Map. You can just loop through it:
      for(Map.Entry<String, Object> entry : media.getMetadata()) {
        // etc
      }However, the same restrictions apply as with Media -- you will probably need to wait before the information is available -- that's why the Listener approach works, because it will notify you as soon as the information is added to the map.

    Why?
    1. Why aren't you just using SQL to do the work?
    2. Why don't you just open a CURSOR and pass that instead?
    BULK COLLECT INTO t_aa_derive;
    3. Why aren't you using a LIMIT clause? Are you sure that only a very small number of rows will be queried?
    4. Why aren't you using a PIPELINED function instead of passing a collection?
    Using collections with potentially unlimited numbers of rows is not scalable. Also, using collections can be more difficult for 'data consumers' to work with than if you just use a CURSOR or PIPELINED function.
    Make sure you are using the proper architecture so that your code is both modular, scalable and easy to use.

    I want to get the data of a table inside the Form but it is not passed to the form by tables parameters.
    How can I do this.

    If there is a problem with defining it globaly, you can define a field symbol globably and point to it. For example.  It would probably be better to define your table globably.
    report zrich_0003 .
    field-symbols: <imarc> type marc_upl_tt.
    start-of-selection.
      perform get_data.
    *       FORM get_data                                                 *
    form get_data.
      data: imarc type table of marc with header line.
      select * from marc into table imarc up to 10 rows.
      assign imarc[] to <imarc>.
      perform write_data.
    endform.
    *       FORM write_data                                               *
    form write_data.
      data: xmarc type marc.
      loop at <imarc> into xmarc.
        write: / xmarc-matnr, xmarc-werks.
      endloop.
    endform.

  • How do I get the metadata for a page to show up when I Google search?

    When I search for my website on Google, the description that shows up is the actual content of the page. I had it set previously to where the metadata for the home page would show up in the description. But now I edited the information in the metadata and that no longer shows up. I dont think I changed any other settings...what do I have to do in order to get the metadata to show up? Please help, thank you! (I tried attaching screen shots to this post but it wasnt responding...)

    I usually set a folder view with two to four large icons. The ability to see inside the folder makes it a breeze for cataloging and retrieving images, especially when I dont remember the date I photographed them.
    I bought the Mac for graphics but this thumbnail interface is what makes Explorer so beautiful to work with. It appears from what I've read that the only way to have Finder compete with this as a catalogue tool is to actually hand create an individual thumbnail for each folder on the Mac. Does anyone know if this is painfully true and if so, is there a third party software known or does anyone out there actually know the secret to displaying folder contents on a Mac? Thanks.

    I am trying to update ITunes from 10.4 to 10.5 I have tried from both the program, and from a download on Apple's website. Regardless, I get the following error messages: (1) Installation package for iTunes cannot be found. Try installing to find the installation package 'iTunes.msi' in a folder from which you can install iTunes.  I can't find this folder. I have tried to completely unistall iTunes through the Control Panel, but it wouldn't let me: I tried going directly to the files themselves, but cannot uninstall. Any help would be greatly appreciated. System OS: Win XP SP 3.

    Set the permissions for Everyone in the folder in which CCPackager created, to "Read/Write" enabled. This is strange since there is only an administrator account on the Mac (and that account already has read/write), but it seems to resolve the issue.

  • Seven of my albums from iPhoto 9.5.1 are no longer visible. The photos are still in iPhoto - is there a way to get the metadata back?

    Seven of my albums from iPhoto 9.5.1 are no longer visible. The photos are still visible in iPhoto, but the albums are completely gone (another 10  albums are still visible). The missing albums are visible in iPhoto Library Manager (I downloaded the free version and when it loaded the library the missing albums were visible)
    About 6 months ago 4 different albums disappeared and I assumed my kids had accidentally deleted them; however, they haven't been allowed to touch the computer since then, so I can't blame them this time! Last time I lost albums I spent hours re-creating them but I am hoping that there is an easier way of getting the metadata to function again - I know I could create a new library with iphoto Library Manager but I would have to buy the full version and can't afford to do that.
    Not sure if it has anything to do with updating the application? (I updated recently and I'm not sure exactly when the albums disappeared.

    Use the rebuild function in iPhoto Library Manager. That does not require a purchase. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
    This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
    Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • How to get the metadata in Designer?

    In Acrobat, I can get the metadata by "this.metadata".
    The Designer's Help  said: use "xfa.form.desc" to instead of "this.metadata".

  • Getting the total number of pages inside a report

    Post Author: jportelas
    CA Forum: .NET
    Good afternoon:
    How can I get the total number of pages inside a reportdocument object???
    I'm currently using VS.NET 2005.
    Thanks for the help.

    There's no public API to get this info directly from RAS.
    Option is to either walk through pages in the CrystalReportViewer till you get to the end, or use the non-public not-for-public use API:
    int lastPageNumber = ((com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.application.AdvancedReportSource) reportClientDocument.getReportSource()).getLastPageNumber(new com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.reportsource.RequestContext());

  • Swing: when trying to get the values from a JTable inside an event handler

    Hi,
    I am trying to write a graphical interface to compute the Gauss Elimination procedure for solving linear systems. The class for computing the output of a linear system already works fine on console mode, but I am fighting a little bit to make it work with Swing.
    I put two buttons (plus labels) and a JTextField . The buttons have the following role:
    One of them gets the value from the JTextField and it will be used to the system dimension. The other should compute the solution. I also added a JTable so that the user can type the values in the screen.
    So whenever the user hits the button Dimensiona the program should retrieve the values from the table cells and pass them to a 2D Array. However, the program throws a NullPointerException when I try to
    do it. I have put the code for copying this Matrix inside a method and I call it from the inner class event handler.
    I would thank you very much for the help.

  • How to get the metadata (in xml format) of all the fileds in SQl query ?

    Good day ,
    I am using the dbms_xmlgen.getXMLfunction to get the result of any query in xml format.
    With this XML I also want the metadata information about all the fields used in the query (passed to getXML function). Is it possible and how can I achieve this.
    I tried to Google it but couldn't find any solution , it's easy to do it in java where I can get the resultset meta data from the resultset but I have to do it in Oracle function since I want the result in xml format and want to use the oracle XML API.
    You may think why I need metadata , the reason is the application will later use this information to sort the data contained in these fields according to their data type provided to.

    Hi,
    Please always say which version of Oracle you're using (SELECT * FROM v$version).
    With this XML I also want the metadata information about all the fields used in the query (passed to getXML function). Is it possible and how can I achieve this.It is possible but with a bit of effort.
    I would use DBMS_SQL utility to parse the query, extract each column's description and then build a METADATA element with the required information.
    Here's an example (11g) :
    DECLARE
      v_query      varchar2(30) := 'select * from scott.emp';
      v_cur        integer;
      v_desc_tab   dbms_sql.desc_tab;
      v_col_cnt    number;
      v_col_lst    varchar2(4000);
      v_xml_query  varchar2(32767);
      xml_metadata_coll xmlsequencetype := xmlsequencetype();
      xml_metadata      xmltype;
      res          clob;
    BEGIN
      v_cur := dbms_sql.open_cursor;
      dbms_sql.parse(v_cur, v_query, dbms_sql.native);
      dbms_sql.describe_columns(v_cur, v_col_cnt, v_desc_tab);
      dbms_sql.close_cursor(v_cur);
      for i in 1 .. v_col_cnt loop
        if i > 1 then
          v_col_lst := v_col_lst || ', ';
        end if;
        v_col_lst := v_col_lst || v_desc_tab(i).col_name;
        xml_metadata_coll.extend;
        select xmlelement("COLUMN"
               , xmlattributes(v_desc_tab(i).col_name as "name")
               , xmlforest(
                   case v_desc_tab(i).col_type
                     when 1   then 'VARCHAR2'
                     when 2   then 'NUMBER'
                     when 12  then 'DATE'
                     when 180 then 'TIMESTAMP'
                     else 'UNKNOWN'
                   end as "DATATYPE"
                 , v_desc_tab(i).col_max_len as "MAX_LENGTH"
                 , v_desc_tab(i).col_precision as "PRECISION"
                 , v_desc_tab(i).col_scale as "SCALE"
        into xml_metadata_coll(i)
        from dual;
      end loop;
      v_xml_query :=

    </ROOT>A couple of comments :
    <li> I handle only four datatypes here (VARCHAR2, NUMBER, DATE, TIMESTAMP). Of course you can add more.
    The list of Oracle Type Number is available here : http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e26088/sql_elements001.htm#i54330
    Starting with 11g (not sure which release), DBMS_SQL package also declares these numbers through named constants.
    <li> I don't use DBMS_XMLGEN in this example. Instead I rebuild the query using SQL/XML functions and the list of columns that's just been described.

  • Any java API to get the metadata for a deployed bpel process in soa/bpm11g?

    Hi,
    Just wonder if this is possible, that there is some existing java api to retrieve the metadata (containing activities, isSynchrous, version information etc) for a deployed bpel process? If not, is there any other way to achieve this goal ( or example query database table directly)?
    I can only find this link for soa11g java api. I am able to invoke the bpel process using this API(direct binding) from java client.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/apirefs.1111/e10659/index.html?overview-tree.html
    Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Bin

    What I find so far:
    1. can get some process property values from ComponentInstance class, see its api.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/apirefs.1111/e10659/oracle/soa/management/facade/ComponentInstance.html
    Please refer http://blogs.oracle.com/soabpm/2009/07/soa_suite_11g_api_tricks_part.html of how to get the component instance (contain the bpel process) from a composite object
    2. in dev_soainfra database schema, the CUBE_INSTANCE table contains most of soa bpel components information. The BPM_CUBE_PROCESS table seems to contain only the process defined in a bpm application. This sounds a little confused, if we want to develop a bpel application, should it be put in soa or bpm application and what is the difference?
    Please feel free to correct any mistakes here.

  • When downloading itunes onto my windows 7 pc I get the following error message "this installation package could not be opened verify that the package exists and that you can access it"

    I am having trouble downloading Itune, icloud etc onto my Windows 7 PC and keep getting the following error message "this installation pack could not be opened, verify that the package exists and that you can access it"

    tried downloading the quicktime installer, I get the same message with it too

  • Getting the coordinates of 1 bufferedimage inside another buffered image

    hi, i'm kinda new to this.
    is there a way to get the starting x and y coordinates of 1 bufferedimage inside another bufferedimage
    let's say this is bufferedimage 1
    http://img293.imageshack.us/i/oracle.png/
    and this is bufferedimage2
    http://img38.imageshack.us/i/buffered2.png/
    i would like a method to return the x and y coordinates of image1 inside image2
    is there anyway to approach this?
    or was there a prewritten method?
    thanks

    The problem is that the two rectangles have points in common. When the CWIMAQVision.RegionsToMask is done, it sets any point that is in any region to a non-zero value, and all other points to 0. So, when the CWIMAQVision.Label is done, it sees one big rectangle of non-zero values, and labels that (and so the CWIMAQVision.Quantify sees the one rectangle as well).
    The easiest way around this problem (if the rectangles must have points in common) is to only make one region active at a time, so CWIMAQVision.RegionsToMask will only use that region to create the mask image, and then call CWIMAQVision.Quantify twice. So, the code would look like this:
    Set pMaskImage = New CWIMAQImage
    pMaskImage.Type = cwimaqImageTypeU8
    Me.CWIMAQViewer1.R
    egions(1).Active = True
    Me.CWIMAQViewer1.Regions(2).Active = False
    Me.CWIMAQVision1.RegionsToMask pMaskImage, Me.CWIMAQViewer1.Regions
    Me.CWIMAQVision1.Label pMaskImage, pMaskImage, avgPixelVal
    Me.CWIMAQVision1.Quantify Me.CWIMAQViewer1.Image, globalReport, regionsReport, pMaskImage
    dblROImean = regionsReport.Item(1).Mean
    Me.CWIMAQViewer1.Regions(1).Active = False
    Me.CWIMAQViewer1.Regions(2).Active = True
    Me.CWIMAQVision1.RegionsToMask pMaskImage, Me.CWIMAQViewer1.Regions
    Me.CWIMAQVision1.Label pMaskImage, pMaskImage, avgPixelVal
    Me.CWIMAQVision1.Quantify Me.CWIMAQViewer1.Image, globalReport, regionsReport, pMaskImage
    dblSurrROImean = regionsReport.Item(1).Mean
    Let me know if this gives you problems.
