Getting the name of the table of a column in a result

I am connected via ODBC (3.52) to an Oracle 8i Db in a Windows 2000 application and want to get the name of the table a column of the result belongs to. I tried SQLColAttribute and SQLGetDescField with SQL_DESC_TABLE_NAME (that works fine with MsAccess), but always get an empty string. Is there another way of getting such information, or do I need another driver, or am I lost in space and time now?

You can query ALL_TAB_COLS directly if you want.

There is no data dictionary table that stores this directly.
- You could get the DDL used to create the view and parse that SQL. Depending on how complex the view might be, this could be relatively easy or highly complex.
- You could get a recursive list of the objects that the view depends on (from ALL_/USER_/DBA_DEPENDENCIES) and trace those dependencies back to all the tables that the view depends on. If your view calls functions, however, this may or may not be what you're looking for. If you are selecting from just one table in the FROM clause but you are calling a function that references a dozen tables, do you want one row? Or thirteen? What about tables referenced in a correlated subquery in the WHERE clause?

My task is to write a java program - using JCO -, which retrieves the names of all tables (a user can access).

Any Function module or BAPIs are available to get scheme name for the inter

I have internal order no value in table AUFK-AUFNR , and the internal order corresponding Scheme value is available in IMPR-PRNAM . Now I want to inner join both the tables to extract the data , but there is no common field . Is there any Function module or BAPIs are available to get scheme name for the internal orders?

Goto to the table tstc and enter the transaction code for
which u want to find out the User-Exits. Check out the
program name from the result. Goto SE38 and dee that
program in display mode. Then search for the string Call
Cutomer-Funtion. All the result of search are the user
exits defined there for that transaction.
SAP user exits (enhancement names that we see in SMOD transaction) are all stored in the table MODSAP. The field NAME contains the enhancement name and the field MEMBER contains the name of the function module that will be called if the customer enhancement exists and is active. The customer enhancement projects are stored in the table MODACT. There, the NAME field is the name of the project and MEMBER is the name of SAP enhancement (that from the MODSAP).
So, if you are in some include, you can use where-used-list to get to the function module name. Then you find the SAP enhancement name from the MODSAP by supplying the function module. And finally, you find the customer enhancement projects by querying the MODACT with the SAP enhancement in the field MEMBER.

Not able to change the name of the attribute of the Table operator.

We are trying to create OMB scripts to automate certain tasks. As a part of this, there is a requirement to change the attribute name of table operators (which by default gets the name of the column). It is possible to change the attribute name from the GUI. But I was not able to do the same using OMB Scripting. Here is the script I used.
OMBALTER MAPPING 'TEST' \
MODIFY ATTRIBUTE 'GEOGRAPHY_ID' OF GROUP 'INOUTGRP1' OF OPERATOR 'TEST' \
SET PROPERTIES(BUSINESS_NAME,PRECISION,DESCRIPTION) \
VALUES('MEMBER_ID',2,'MEMBER')
This script was to change the name of the attribute - GEOGRAPHY_ID of the table operator TEST.
From what I can make out from the Scripting reference, changing BUSINESS_NAME of the attribute should do the trick but it is not happening. The syntax looks correct as the precision of the column changes.
Am I missing something? Or is it a limitation or a bug?
I use OWB client 10.2.0.1.25 and OWB repository 10.2.0.1.0.

the name property would be the correct attribute to get the subform name, just by looking at the code it doesn't seem like it's doing the right thing
I am assuming that you send Main in the function countChk() which would look something like this
countChk(Main);
And you probably want to make sure you are entering the right subform so you need to keep that loop at the end of the function
but if you want to get through all the checkboxes inside that subform you must do a loop through that node to find each checkbox
I am assuming that the function would probably look something like this

I have a generic class declared as such:

and I want to access the name of the <T> class a member function in that class? I just can't figure out which syntax to use.

Sorry, I'm a little bit confused at your answer.
I cannot seem to instantiate an object of class T, like: T item = new T();does not work. If I can't create an object of type T, then I can't get it's type. I need to get the class even if I don't have any instantiated objects (or if I can create a blank one), so that I can use the name to fetch the objects from the persistence engine. Here is the class, so you can see what I'm talking about. I have in there now what seems like it should be right, but doesn't compile.
A small example of solution please?

Find out the name of a table

Hi Gurus,
I would like to know the name of the table which is filled with the WPUBON Idoc types.
The only sales data available to extract to BW is the data generated by the transaction WPUK, but the extractor MC43RK0CAS doesn't get any sales data to 2LIS_43_POSCAS.

I transfer these two datasources and activate thru LBWE still no success.
I didnt find where we should generate setup tables for these data sources.
Always 0 data records showing in RSA3.
If u get any solutions for this, plz let me know.

FI-SL: create an user exit to get the "name of the group account"

- name of the general account
- name of the group account
The table I se is ACCIT_GLX. In this table, I can't get the name of the general and group accounts directly.
I guess I have to use user exits.
I can find the name of the general account in the table SKA1. But do you know where I can find the name of the group account?
I'm not a developer at all. But I just need the name of the field and table to indicate them to the IT team.

In Tcode Fs00 when you create GL account Master there is Group Account number when you maintain group chart of accounts this field automatically becomes mandatory entry , here Press F1 and Select the Technical Details button there you can find the Technical name and the table and other details of it.

What is the name of the table where Release Strategy changes are maintained

Every time I make the changes in the Release Strategy Codes the Signature of the Approver changes in the Output. The problem is that it even changes for the Older PO's which are already approved by some other approver. Is there any way this problem can be sorted out? or can any one give the name of the table which records the changes made in the Release Strategy along with time and date? I will be really thankful if you guys can help me out!

I hope you are talking about the release codes, which we attach later on to user Ids and signature means its description. I hope followed correctly.
In standard system, as and when you change the description of release code at back end, it gets reflected on front end. No matter whether its old or new PO. There is no way out to stop this. Every time you display the purchase order, the release codes checks for description at back end and displayes the same. Still, it should not bother you, as the already released PO dosent get affected for any changes you do at back end in the entire release strategy.
Beside the tables mentioned by other friends AUSP is the table where all release related entries gets stored.

Hi guys , i´m using method cl guifrontend_services=>file_open_dialog to search any file in my hard disc, with that ,I get the whole path, however I only want the name of the file , eg.

This will put each bit of text between the '/' into a separate line in table itab1. If you read the last line, you'll get the last bit of the text which is your file name.

Mail running under LIon no longer grays out the name of the sender of an email that has been read. How can I get that to happen?

Under the old version of Mail, when an e-mail was read, the name of the sender was greted out so that I knew I had read that email. This does not seem to happen under the new Mail thaqt came with Lion. Help!?

error message. In fact nothing happens. My name and
key are typed in and from what I understand, once you
do that with a real key it directs you to the
registration page. When I get done entering the
information the window just sits there without any
button or option to continue.
QT Pro is already in the QT (non-pro) you installed and the key (which is a hash of your name in part) allows the Pro features to work.
No redirect, internet, nothing like that. As such many people have activated and think they haven't. Just look at the menu items and see if the "Pro" logo is shown next to a few (which are greyed out and not available without Pro). If not you are done.
