Getting the tab name

Hey,
I need to capture the tab name when it is clicked. Is there any way to do this??
I created dynamic breadcrumbs and when the user clicks the tab to enter a page the application items used to contain the values for the breadcrumb path are not being cleared. So when the user clicks a tab to go into the page directly the breadcrumb path is the last entry created in the trail, but it should be the only entry in the breadcrumb path.
eg: User is on Page 1 and clicks a button bringing them to page 2 and the breadcrumb will be Page 1>Page 2.
However, if the user clicks a tab to go directly into page 2, the breadcrumb should just be Page 2 and it's showing Page 1 > Page 2 and this is because the application items holding the values are not being cleared.
Does someone have a solution to this?

If it's a standard tab then the value of the built-in substitution string REQUEST is set to the tab name when it is clicked.
Alternatively, query the APEX_APPLICATION_TABS view using the page ID in a Before Header computation/process in the destination page, something like:

Hi Nithya,
You can get the technical name by selecting the role in the portal where the report is enclosed you will generally find the report in description then identify the report you are looking then double click on that you will get a window pop-up in that you will have details tab there click on the details the your Query technical name will be displayed.
EX : zqry_w001 Then replace W with Q and seach in analyser or Designer.

Get the File Name received from FTP Adapter

How to get the File name reived through the FTP Adpater. I have created a variable with the Message type from ftpAdapterinboundheader.wsdl. from there I mapped the filename attribute to a local string variable.
But I did not receive the file name. The output in the Audit trail is as follows:

you have to define variable of type InboundHeader_msg. Then in receive activity click on Adapter tab and for header variable chose your newly created variable (InboundHeader_msg). Once you receive message from FTP you should see in this variable fileName.

File adapter polling and getting the file name 11g Jdeveloper

I am using JDeveloper 11g. My process is something like;
A file adapter reads a XML file
This triggers the BPM process, file content is sent to start activity as message
I have to get the file name that is read by file adapter.
How to do that? Any help is appreciated.

This is a very simple task in JDeveloper 11g, file adapters are linked to the receive activity, here there is a tab called Properties which you can use to extract the file name. Please follow the steps below:
1. Create a Simple Type variable of string type, call it fileName_var or any name you wish.
2. Open the Receive activity in your bpel project.
3. Scroll down to jca.file.FileName and double click on the value column, click on the browse button (...), select Variable, then click the search icon
4. Locate your recently created variable
5. Now when your project runs it will assign the file name to this variable, you can use this same approach also to pull the directory, file size, etc.

Like you said.. steps are simple and clearly mentioned in guide.
1. create a variable of type string
2. after configuring the file adapter , go to corresponding receive activity , go to properties tab
3. search for a property with name as jca.file.FileName . This basically keeps track of file name
4. for this property, give the value as name of variable created in step 1 above
5. Use this variable anywhere in assign / transform

I know that if i have a role , i can check in pfcg giving that role name and in menu tab i can see all the queries published under that role. But if i know query but not role how to get the role name . Is there any table or functon modules or programs to get the information.

Enter the command up to the point of entering the file path and add a space, then drag the file into the terminal window. It will fill out the path.
If you need to go further into the contents of the Application package, you can continue with /Contents...
Another way is to start typing and then hit Tab to auto-complete. It will stop where it can't determine the next letter.
So, type /App tab and it will fill in /Applications. Type a / and start with the name of the app, then tab and it should complete. Continue till you have the correct path.
Spaces will be replaced with \<space>, so, App Store would end up as /Applications/App\ Store.app

Stripping off the user name will give you the domain of from field in the message. This is not the same as the host. Take a look at:

My requirement is to create an email attachement with the name 'variant.XLS', where variant = selection screen variant, when the report program is run in background. The system field SY-SLSET holds the variant name only when run online.

I like having the tab bar at the bottom of the screen; I use the task bar AT THE BOTTOM to switch between programs, so I want the the tab bar AT THE BOTTOM to switch between web pages. The only way I've found to get the tab bar at the bottom of the screen is the extension Tab Mix Plus. I used it for a long time, and it worked great.
Unfortunately, when I recently updated to Firefox 14.0.1, I encountered an error: I could no longer middle-click on a link to open it in a new tab (which I do ALL the time). After some troubleshooting, I found that it was being caused by some incompatibility between Firefox 14.0.1 and Tab Mix Plus; upon removing Tab Mix Plus, my middle-clicking was back to normal.
But without Tab Mix Plus, I'm back to having the tab bar at the top of the screen. I've searched and searched, and I can't find anything besides Tab Mix Plus that will let me put the tab bar at the bottom of the screen. I've found tons of stuff about the option "tabs on top", but that has to do with putting the tab bar above/below the navigation bar--it's still at the top of the SCREEN either way.
What can I do?

Reset the pref <b>layout.scrollbar.side</b> to '0' or set to '2' to place the scroll bar at the default right side.

How can I get the path name and rename it?

I Hope someone who knows more about automator than I can help me out here. What I'm trying to do is get the path file name, while also changing part of it. Here is my example:
I can get the path name with this "Get Path" script I found http://automatorworld.com/archives/get-path/all-comments/
It does half the job so I just need to tweak it but know how. When I get the path this is what I'll get: /Volumes/Public/Creative Services/Campaigns/2010/NCDDiv-32CDV Upgrade/NCDDIV-32Versions.xls
I need to remove the beginning part"/volumes" to "file://///nhmanmkt01"
This is so I can send the path from our sever where we keep our files to my windows friends so they can open it.

But when you see the properties of a file in Windows, you can see there are two file size. One is called "SIze" and the other one is called "Size on disk".
Therefore, I would like to know the size on disk but not just the size.

Once you have prepared your statement, you can execute the
statement with the OCI_DESCRIBE_ONLY mode before binding any
columns. Then you can use OCIParamGet to find out about each
column (column index is 1-based). You should get OCI_NO_DATA or
ORA-24334 if there are no more columns in the statement. Note
that the parameter descriptor from OCIParamGet is
allocated/freed internally by OCI; you do not need to manage it
explicitly. The parameter descriptor is passed to OCIAttrGet in
order to obtain for instance the maximum size of data in the
column OCI_ATTR_DATA_SIZE. You can also get the column name in
this way, although I do not remember the #define off the top of
my head. Getting the table name appears to be much more
difficult; I have never had to do that yet. Good luck. -Ralph
