Getting to know the Valet Connector (AM10)

Hi all,
I am new to this forum and hope I can get some help. I would like to know if it is possible by using Java (maybe some 3rd party SDK) to get to know the behavior of the user on a particular resource. For a example; a user using a desktop machine with a MS Windows OS performed the following actions
* printed a MS Word document,
* started a browsing session
* edited a document
* created a new text file
That wouldn't be easy in any language. For example "create a new text" file means what if I save a Excel document as a csv file? I certainly consider a csv file to be a text file, but it wouldn't for example have a .txt extension.
Consider also where a email client disallows executables so to send a exe I rename it with a .txt extension. Not really a txt file at all.
And in terms of printing in Word that would require hooking into word and probably also the printing subsystem. Very hard to do.
So you would need to define what all of those requirements mean in terms of the OS before proceeding in any language.
As an example of creating a key logger via java it would probably be done best in another language. But in general
1. Use C code to hook into the OS to trap key events (and exclude mouse events.)
2. Write JNI code to accept callbacks from the C code.
3. Write java code that writes (via 2) the characters to a file.
I would use this information to create usage patterns and habits of the particular user. Hence, understand the preferences together with the needs of the particular user by building and customizing a user model on these usage patterns. I have searched on the Internet for solutions however I was not that successful. Many solutions were given by either using the Win32 Hooks or some spying/proxy API.This is a lot easier if you base it on a single application. Thus if you built a text editor in java and then recorded all of the action in there it would be a lot easier. And something that you could do entirely in java.

  • Help! Erased the Valet Connector by mistake

I accidentally erased my Valet Connector AM10 instead of my intended connected flash drive. There is no more support for this as I cannot find an image to put back on the device to make it work

Hi revtup. The setup software is still available for download. All you need to find is the drivers for your AM10. You may try to request for it. Just fill out and submit the form from this link: http://developers.belkin.com/GPLDownload/GPLRequest.jsp

    Hi Vladimir,
I assume you want to know the size of the biggest file stored in the content server don't you?
This information is available through the content server API layer only - so better open this question in the knowlegde management forum.

  • How do you get sound through the dock connector to a PC or Mac?

Where I work they have blocked the Pandora website. (Along with just about every other online radio site.) They don't mind if we listen to music, as long as it's not streamed online through their network.
I have both a PC & a Mac on my desk.
What I would like to do is listen to my Pandora app from my iPhone by plugging the dock connector into a Mac or PC. This would keep the battery drain to a minimum & allow for better quality.
When I plug in the dock connector the phone starts charging & iTunes want's to sync. I can run the Pandora app, but no sound comes through the computer.
Does anyone know how to get the audio to come from the dock connector & play through the computers sound card?

    You have several choices:
    1. Composite AV Cable: has a dock connector on one end and USB, RCA line out and RCA composite video on the other. It also comes with an AC Adaptor.
    2. Component AV Cable: same as the Composite AV Cable but with RCA component video.
    3. Universal Dock: has a dock connector socket on it and a line out socket.
    4. iPhone 3G Dock or the (original iPhone Dock): same as the Universal Dock but designed just for the iPhone.
All you need is somewhere to plug the line out into.

  • Get to know the Premiere Pro Forum "Regulars"

I've been coming to the forum for a while now, mostly to get help from the experts, and to help out others when I can.  I really appreciate some of the frequent contributors who have helped me out when I've come across problems I couldn't find a solution to on my own.
If anyone is interested, I was hoping to start this thread to get to know some of the frequent members of the forum (what they do for a living, the company they work for or own if they want to mention it, where they're from, etc).
I guess I'll start.  I work for a production company in Indiana.  We mostly do corporate training, marketing, and sales videos but we also do some brochures, photography, and multimedia projects.
I've been editing on Premiere for about three years, starting with 2.0 and I have experience with Encore, After Effects, Flash, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver.  I also edit on Final Cut Pro at home and have experience with Avid.
Here's our company's website that I created using Flash, if anyone's interested in taking a look (not trying to advertise).  www.klaesimage.com
Anyway, hopefully some of the other regulars (Harm, Jim, Wine Snob and others) will chime in.

Well guys, here is a completely different story.
I started at the Royal Dutch Naval Academy as a cadet, then went on to study economics and went into the banking business, commercial loans, asset management and stock brokerage. Then moved on into the field of HR Consulting, first with Hay Management Consultants, then with my own firm, specialized in organizational structures, compensation & benefits, performance management and MD. I have worked with many multinationals and large companies, like Royal Dutch Shell, Exxon, Unilever, Philips, Akzo-Nobel, MSD, Canon, McKinsey, Fuji, Honeywell, BASF, Schiphol Amsterdam Airport, Mercedes Benz, and the like on these issues. In all, nothing to do with video editing, so what the f**k am I doing here?
Purely as a hobby I started with photography during my grammar school days in Switzerland, then moved on to 8 mm film, then in the early '80's started with video (VHS-C) and progressed from there, first using analog editing equipment and later digital. I started out with Ulead Media Studio and switched to Premiere with version 5.1. I have used each and every version after that, so now I'm on CS4.2 MC.
Almost all the video work I do is hobby, with the exception of a report of an Island Hopping trip in the Caribbean on board the sailing vessel De Eendracht and a promotional video for the largest crude oil terminal in the world (still working on the latter).
Now many of you may see me as somewhat of a hardware guy with some knowledge of computers, and that perception is not altogether wrong. During my studies I got acquainted with programming, first in Basic on a MITS Altair, then APL on an IBM 5110 and a DEC 2060, then on to Fortran, Pascal, LISP, C, etc. Being statistically inclined (some friends have always wondered why I studied economics and not econometrics or math) I was one of the founding fathers of the Hay Benefits Value Comparison, Hay Dynamic Pay Survey and Hay Xpert.
Nowadays I occasionally build relatively high-end systems for people and help them solve problems they may encounter. Luckily for me my son is a BoE, specialized in IT and an expert network and security consultant, doing complex projects at large telecom companies and high-tech organizations, so I always have backup in case I am at my wits end.
That in a nutshell is me.

  • To get to know the buttons on ipod!

This might be a stupid question since I am just getting to know my ipod. I have a 30Gb ipod which I bought recently and I was wondering when a song is playing on ipod the only way to stop it is to hit the button puase/play and it'll pause it, it won't stop it but it'll pause it. So my question is that after i'd pause and then turn the ipod off wouldn't this cause any harm to the ipod cause after i'd turn it on it'll show that it is still on pause. so is this okay? or is there any other way that I should be doing this?(I have a feeling I am asking a really stupid quetion but i'd appreciate it if I get a response. Thank you)

On digital music players such as the iPod, pause is the same as stop.
There is no need of a conventional stop button such as you would see on a cd player.

  • How can i get to know the widget type from the sample.

If am trying to copy a widget sample from a reference site, how can I get to know if its a standard out of box or some custom widget.
For example what type of widget could be the given, it seems its a google map for any location.

    Hello,
Open the site for edit, in the side panel open the 'Content Catalog' and filter by 'Delivered with product' to see the list of the out of the box widgets.
The Google maps widget is not an out of the box widget.

  • How do I get to know the structures stored in a cluster table

    Dear fellow developers,
this question is about Cluster Tables of the INDX-type which need to be read with
    IMPORT/EXPORT FROM/TO ...
I need some advice concerning the question of how to find
out the definition of a structured field in such a cluster.
    To be more precise:
    By using the command
    IMPORT DIRECTORY ...
I know that in the table/cluster
    VARI
    section
    VB
    there are two structured
fields the content of which I'm interested in for reading and writing purposes:
    %_VARI40C
    and
    %_VARIVDAT
I already know the structure of the first one, but only because I found a Standard FM that reads it with an appropriately defined WA-structure, but I cannot find something similar to find out the structure definition for the other one (%_VARIVDAT). It can't be possible that this is so difficult to find out. There must be some better and easier way to find this out that I don't know yet...
Thanks in advance for your appreciated help
    Andreas

    Hi Andreas,
I think you have nothing into SAP to find the structure of a cluster table.
The way I use, is to find a standard program that use this cluster, and I look in the ABAP code the structure used by SAP.
You just have to use the ST05, and use the option to see the code where the cluster has been readed.

  • Help needed in knowing the B2B Table strucure

    Hi All,
I would like to know the tables in the B2B database that stores the ISA,GS,ST,Receiver ID and Ack flag data.
Or any document which contains the description of all the tables and what data is stored in them .
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,

    Hi Kaavya,
There is a view called b2b_instancemessage where you will get all the details. Please refer the post Getting the ISA Control Number and other details from a b2b generated file
which has the view creation script. If you analyze the script you will get to know the relationship between tables in the b2b schema.
    Hope that it helps!!
