    You must wrap your contents into a FORM element and, then, using getParameter("escolha"), retrieve your value.

  • Having problem to get the value from radio button

    i am doing my double module project for my degree course and i am also a newbie in JSP. Hope there is someone can help me to solve this problem. Now, i set the value of a radio button to "don't smoke", "smoke lightly", and "smoke heavily". Then i use request.getParameter ("smoking behavior") to get the value selected by the user, but the result is only "don't" or "smoke", which the character after spacing will be not be retrieved. I dun know how to solve it, so can any expert here help me to solve this problem? Thanks for helping.

    Why do you have to use whitespace. If your radio button group is name smokingBehavior - no whitespace, wouldn't it just make sence to have values of don't, lightly and heavily. This would solve the problem easily. If your teacher is being a pain in the a&!, and requires you to use whitespace for your naming variables I guess you could insert %20 between the two words and unescape the value on the server side. This seems like a lot of unnecessary work and a silly solution - good luck!

    Try to use the "[ code][ code]" tags, it makes your code much easier to read! :)
    If you want a method, such as write() to be able to get text from a radio button, such as EconomyButton, make sure to declare it higher in your code and public, so you can use the method:EcononomyButton.getText()Also note, you may find it easier if you rename your variables to lower case, such as "economyButton", and your classes upper case.
    For more information on ways to get information out of a button you've created, check out the javadocs:
    http://www.google.com/search?&q=java+5+jradiobutton
    Note, if you scroll down, you'll see a bunch of "Methods Inherited By" stuff. You can use them too!
    -FBL
    (This is your code, using the code tags)
              /* Write code */
         public void write() {
              String fullfile = "something.txt";
              try {
                   BufferedWriter out = new BufferedWriter(new FileWriter(fullfile));

  • How to check the default checked  value for radio button on jsp for struts

    Hello , I just want to check the default checked value in JSP for a radio button, how can i do that?
    <html:radio property="sale" value="permanent" style="vertical-align: middle;">Permanent</html:radio>
    <html:radio property="sale" value="temporary" style="vertical-align: middle;">Temporary</html:radio>

    you can set the default value for property ( which you want to default selected when the form is first loaded) in reset method of the form.
    <html:radio property="sale" value="permanent" style="vertical-align: middle;">Permanent</html:radio>
    <html:radio property="sale" value="temporary" style="vertical-align: middle;">Temporary</html:radio>
    In the above case you can write the code as follows in the perticular form of this jsp.
    public void reset(ActionMapping mapping, HttpServletRequest request) {
    super.reset(mapping, request);
         sale = "permanent";
    This will show the first check box default selected when the first time the page is loaded.

    am in jdeveloper 11.1.1.6.0

    adf009, the answer was given in my blog I posted to your other thraed JDeveloper: Showing a Popup when Selecting an af:selectOneRadio | JDev &amp;amp; ADF Goodies
    You only have to read it and the link provided inside the blog pointing to the other blog entry.
    use
    <af:outputText value="Reason: #{pageFlowScope.InternalBean.status}" id="ot9"
                               partialTriggers="d1" inlineStyle="height:100px;"/>
    to output the text.
    By the way your code snipplet isn't understandable without knowing the context around it. You always should mention if you post code from someone else (at least give a link to the source).

  • How to get values from the page excpet pagecontext.getparameter

    i have a requirement wherein i am passing paramteres from the "submit" button.but the problem being that,i have multiple rows in my page.what is happening is that my "submit" button is passing the values of the previous row,instead of the current row.this is i think because "commit" gets called later and params are passed before it.
    how do i solve this problem
    or if i can get to get paramteres in a advance table layout,i l be able to achieve my requirement.beacuse in advance table layout,i am not able to do pagecontext.getparameter("---" of the item

    thanks guys,
    i did try working with row refrence but it returns a null only.
    my requirement was that i had update functionality as well as "add new rows" on the same advtbl bean.an whenevr i click on "add new row" and submit,i was always gettin the parameters for the previous row.
    now,i have got a workaround to that,by having a radio button to select rows to update and whenever i click on "add new rows" ,i disable the radio button,and get the handle based on the value from radio group.
    but still row refrence dint work for me.i will appreciate if sum1 can send me the code

    but i got problems while i try to print those values...
    after the the jsp page presents in my browser,
    i input some words in the input components,
    and then click a commandButton hold an action to print their value
    action code :
    String[] tempArray = this.getInstanceValue();
    for (int i = 0; i < tempArray.length; i++) {
    System.out.println(tempArray);
    only NULL has been printed in the consol ....not the word i inputed!!!
    so my question is how can i get values from those
    dinamically generated HtmlInputText ????

    This approach is odd. What's the functional requirement after all? You normally attach the inputtext value to a backing bean property and do the desired command button action which is attached to a backing bean action method. In this method you then use the value for the query.

  • How to get values from an IFrame...

    Hi everyone. I have come to a complete stop i my project and need to ask the following: How do i get the values from an IFrame.
    Situation: I have a main.jsp page that contains an IFrame(data.jsp). Data.jsp is basically made up of a bunch of checkboxes. The state of these boxes(checked or unchecked) is determined and set by a JAVA program and the results are then stored in a StringBuffer. Contents of Stringbuffer could look something like this: <tr><input type='checkbox' name='box0' CHECKED></tr>.
    The StringBuffer in then presented in the IFrame(data.jsp) like so: <%=res.getInfo()%>
    The user should be able to check or uncheck the boxes from the main.jsp page then when pressing a submit button the changes should be stored in a DBase.
    After the submit button have been pressed i go into my Servlet's doPost() method for some basic processing. This is were the problem starts. I usally use HttpServletRequest.getParameter(String param) to get values from the main.jsp page. But these checkboxes are stored in the IFrame, so how do i go about to retrieve the values from data.jsp from the doPost() method or in some other way maybe. This is quite urgent and i hope that i have explained the scenario in enough detail.
    Any help would be greatlly apritiated.
    Best regards

Now when we test the survey, the value for the radio buttons is appearing like 'id_0050569b03091ee480a29d8ee61e953c'. But i want to set a specific value for each radion button (from 1 to 11). So, how to set value for radio button in sap crm survey suite???.

    Hi,
    I found solution myself. Click on Goto -> Editing Mode -> Expert Mode. Now you can set value for radio button.

  • From two given tables, how do you fetch the values from two columns using values from one column(get values from col.A if col.A is not null and get values from col.B if col.A is null)?

    From two given tables, how do you fetch the values from two columns using values from one column(get values from col.A if col.A is not null and get values from col.B if col.A is null)?

    Hi,
    Use NVL or COALESCE:
    NVL (col_a, col_b)
    Returns col_a if col_a is not NULL; otherwise, it returns col_b.
    Col_a and col_b must have similar (if not identical) datatypes; for example, if col_a is a DATE, then col_b can be another DATE or it can be a TIMESTAMP, but it can't be a VARCHAR2.
    For more about NVL and COALESCE, see the SQL Language manual: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e26088/functions119.htm#sthref1310
    I hope this answers your question.
    If not, post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only) for all tables involved, and also post the results you want from that data.
    Explain, using specific examples, how you get those results from that data.
    Always say which version of Oracle you're using (e.g., 11.2.0.2.0).
    See the forum FAQ: https://forums.oracle.com/message/9362002
