Getting XML contents

Can anyone tell me what is the easiest way to get XML contents using any IDE? Please send me some example code to get some ideas.
TIA,
A

My apologies for not clarifying the need earlier. Here's the need:
1. Contents of database query results in XML(can be stored in database tables)
2. Check for validation(valid XML)
3. Reading the contents of external DTD file before doing 1 above.
I'm using JDev 3.1, It generates XML for the structure, but, not the contents which gets stored in the database. So, I may need to do things manually for which I asked suggestion.
Thanks.

  • Xml content in the body of the email

    Hi... I am using JDev 10.1.3.4 . My requirement is to get xml content in the body of the email. please throw some light on this.

    Hi
    Thanks al for ur replies.
    Actually my requirement is to send email with some xml data in the body (like failed records to show dat dese are all the records without necessary information).
    @Eric,
    Using ora:getContentAsString(XMLElement) i only received a blank email without any content. I even tried to write the xml content in a file and used ora:doc() . Even then the body of the email is blank. Dunno wat i am missing here.
    @pavan4s
    I am literally new to bpel. Can u please elaborate or send some links to use xsl in email body?

  • Catch all error information while validating xml content with xsd schema

    Hi experts,
    I created a java mapping to validating the input xml content with xsd schema (schema validation). What I want is to catch all error message to the xml not just the first error. I used SAXParser in sapxmltoolkit.jar to do the schema validation. The below is a part of my java mapping.
    XMLReader parser = XMLReaderFactory.createXMLReader("com.sap.engine.lib.xml.parser.SAXParser");
    parser.setFeature( "http://xml.org/sax/features/validation" ,  true);
    parser.setFeature( "http://apache.org/xml/features/validation/schema" , true);
    parser.setProperty("http://java.sun.com/xml/jaxp/properties/schemaLanguage", "http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema");          parser.setProperty("http://java.sun.com/xml/jaxp/properties/schemaSource",this.getClass().getClassLoader().getResourceAsStream(schema)); // schema is my schema name
    parser.setErrorHandler(new ParseErrorHandler()); // ParseErrorHandler is my own ErrorHandler which extends DefaultHandler
    parser.parse(new InputSource(new ByteArrayInputStream(sinput.getBytes())));
    // In error handler, I comment all code so as not to throw any exception
    public class ParseErrorHandler extends DefaultHandler
         public void error(SAXParseException e) throws SAXException
              // sSystem.out.println("Error" + e.getMessage());
              // throw e;
         public void fatalError(SAXParseException e)
              // throw e;
              // System.out.println("SAP Fatal Error" + e.getMessage());
    Unfortunately the program always stopped while catching the first error. Check the below log.

  • How to get the content of a DTD ?

    (i'm French, please excuse my English)
    I'm trying to get the content of the DTD corresponding to the file "fic"
    fic is like : "....../XXXXXX.xml"
    and contains : <!DOCTYPE composants SYSTEM "test.dtd">
    Here is my code :
    org.w3c.dom.Document Doc = DBXML.newDocument();

    //Doc is a correctly parsed Document
    org.w3c.dom.DocumentType DT = Doc.getDoctype();

    //Echo "10" ==> DocumentType Node
    System.out.println(DT.getNotations().getLength());
    //Echo "0" !!!!!!!!!
    I can't figure why getNotations() can't give me the DTD definitions
    Please tell me if I try to use a wrong way or if I missed something.
    Thanks a lot ...

    getNotations() method returns Dtd NOTATIONS when the NOTATIONS are referenced in the DTD.
    Dtd:
    <!ELEMENT map (entry*) >
    <!ELEMENT entry (#PCDATA)>
    <!ATTLIST entry value NOTATION (n1|n2) #REQUIRED>
    <!NOTATION n1 SYSTEM "n1-url">

    System.out.println((nnm.item(0)).getNodeName());
    System.out.println((nnm.item(1)).getNodeName());

    thank in advance

    Hi Sliba,
    You may download and use the XDK for Java that is available from OTN to do this.
    Here is the code that will be handy for use. Just substitute your XML document and stylesheet
    in the code snippet pasted below. I hope this helps.
    There are many more useful XML samples you can find at http://otn.oracle.com/sample_code/tech/xml/content.html

    Daverms,
    Thanks for the quick turn around..
    I have applied the solution what you suggested above (<cfprocessingdrirective suppresswhitespaces="yes"), still whitespaces are existing in my output.
    The output what I am getting is,
    (blue color part is my output & red color indicates whitespaces)

  • Can't get File content conversion to produce CSV file

    Hi Guys
    Have no problem at all getting XML file created via an RFC
    Structure is something like this
    From MONI message monitor inbound message    payload
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    - <rfc:Z_XI_005_RFC xmlns:rfc="urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions">
    - <IP_CUSTOMER_HEADER>
      <CUSTOMERID>100853</CUSTOMERID>
      <COMPANY>Bram Van Tuyl Coldstore</COMPANY>
      <SHORT_NAME>VAN TUYL</SHORT_NAME>
      <STREET>Middelkampseweg 1</STREET>
    etc
    </IP_CUSTOMER_HEADER>
      </rfc:Z_XI_005_RFC>
    Receiver Grouping  payload
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    - <rfc:Z_XI_005_RFC xmlns:rfc="urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions">
    - <IP_CUSTOMER_HEADER>
      <CUSTOMERID>100853</CUSTOMERID>
      <COMPANY>Bram Van Tuyl Coldstore</COMPANY>
      <SHORT_NAME>VAN TUYL</SHORT_NAME>
      etc.
    With no conversion xml file is created on output directory
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <ns1:MT_customer_header xmlns:ns1="http://avenue.com/xi/test"><customerid>100853</customerid><company>Bram Van Tuyl Coldstore</company>
    etc
    Now trying to use File content conversion with the simplest possible conversion -- just insert a colon after all the fields in the structure.
    Following parameters
    Adapter type FILE
    receiver box checked
    Message protocol  File Content conversion
    File access etc as before
    Content conversion parameters
    Recordset :  IP_CUSTOMER_HEADER
    (have also tried Z_XI 005_RFC)
    Name
    CUSTOMERID.fieldSeparator  :        (colon)
    MONI shows message received by XI and processed correctly  but NO outfile gets written to the target directory.
    what am I doing wrong --it's probably something stupid.
    The data into XI is a ONE RECORD structure -- not a table etc.
    Cheers
    jimbo

    Hi guys -- both solutions STILL not working
    all I'm now getting is just a file with garbage in it
    Payload is fine on XI system
    Here's the payload
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    - <rfc:Z_XI_005_RFC xmlns:rfc="urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions">
    - <IP_CUSTOMER_HEADER>
    - <item>
      <CUSTOMERID>65013</CUSTOMERID>
      <COMPANY>OY PANDA AB</COMPANY>
      <SHORT_NAME>PANDA</SHORT_NAME>
      <STREET>P.O.Box 3</STREET>
      <STREET2 />
      <STREET3 />
      <STREET4 />
      <POSTCODE>3331 GT</POSTCODE>
       etc etc  until end of customer mmaster details
    </item>
      </IP_CUSTOMER_HEADER>
      </rfc:Z_XI_005_RFC>
    Without conversion file is generated on target directory
    Here's the XML output file  sent to the directory
    (for testing I only usec the ist 3 fields)
    Not sure why <item>   disappeared  - maybe that has something to do with it ?
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    - <ns1:MT_customer_header xmlns:ns1="http://avenue.com/xi/test">
      <CustomerId>65013</CustomerId>
      <company>OY PANDA AB</company>
      <shortname>PANDA</shortname>
      </ns1:MT_customer_header>
    RFC call from R3 system  is fine (otherwise I wouldn't get the message into XI. Transaction SM58 as well on R3 shows no RFC errors
    Converted file is just a blank with nl character at the end ??????
    cheers

  • Hiding XML content in Flash

    Ok so I have created this button that expands within a movie clip called "movie1_mc". At frame 12 the button stops expanding and an external XML file loads in 7 subnavigation buttons within a single mc called "button". After the user rolls Off the subnavigation btns the "movie1_mc" button collapses but the laoded xml content is still there. I need to get rid of the XMl content after frame 13 how can I accomplish this?
    Below is my coe that loads the XML content:
    stop();
    function loadXML(loadedX) {
        if (loadedX) {
            xmlNode = this.firstChild;
            image = [];

        for (i=0; i<total; i++) {
            image[i] = xmlNode.childNodes[i].childNodes[0].firstChild.nodeValue;
            load_pic();
        } else {
            content = "file not loaded!";
    xmlData = new XML();
    xmlData.ignoreWhite = true;
    xmlData.onLoad = loadXML;
    xmlData.load("images.xml");
    function load_pic(){

  • Adf Input Text with formatted xml Content

    Hi,
    I have a requirements where I get an xml content in one line
    as suppose <xml ><a><a1></a1><a2><a2></a><b></b></xml>
    I want this Input text to render it proper fromat like
    <xml >
        <a>
            <a1>
            </a1>
             <a2>
             <a2>
       </a>
       <b>
      </b>
    </xml>I tried to set wrap property to soft
    but it is not affecting
    Please tell me any component that will properly structure the input xml
    How can I do this.

    User, please tell us your jdev version!
    There is no component AFAIK. You may want to try the rich text editor, but if I remember it correct it won't do what you want.
    My solution would be to write a custom converter and format the code in the converter to show it then in the inputText.

  • Insert XML content  from BLS to oracle table

    Hi,
    Is there any way to send XML content from BLS to Oracle table. I tried with FixedQueryWithOuput. It works, but it has limitation, it cannot take more than 4000 character , even though the param is configured as clob in oracle database side?

    Sajjad
    This is not issue from xMII-side itself, instead this is an Oracle issue itself. This has some limitation in manipulating data in Database.
    Managing CLOBs and BLOBs in JDBC is not very simple when compared to managing small amount of data. The way the CLOB and the BLOB objects are created and managed is different than a VARCHAR(String) column. In fact, Oracle extension classes are provided to support these types objects in JDBC like oracle.sql.CLOB, oracle.sql.BLOB etc.
    The new enhancements in Oracle JDBC 10g promises to simplify the insertion and retrieval techniques for the CLOBs using the standard APIs. This document enumerates how easily the CLOB data can be handled in JDBC, by harnessing the new features of the Oracle JDBC 10g driver
    Anyway, to more get info on Oracle problems u may read  <a href="http://www.oracle.com/technology/sample_code/tech/java/codesnippet/jdbc/clob10g/handlingclobsinoraclejdbc10g.html">this</a>

    <EMPLOYEES CREATED="2013-02-06T12:33:00" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="http://supporthtml.oracle.com/TEST_SCHEMA.xsd" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
    <EMPLOYEE_TRANS MODE="A" emp_id="1">
      <emp_nm>SCOTT</emp_nm>
      <emp_dept>FN</emp_dept>
      <mgr>DON</mgr>
      <sal>4000</sal>
      <updt_ts>2013-02-06T12:28:00</updt_ts>
      </EMPLOYEE_TRANS>
    <EMPLOYEE_TRANS MODE="A" emp_id="2">
      <emp_nm>KEVIN</emp_nm>
      <emp_dept>HR</emp_dept>
      <mgr>MIKE</mgr>
      <sal>3000</sal>
      <updt_ts>2013-02-06T12:29:00</updt_ts>
      </EMPLOYEE_TRANS>
    </EMPLOYEES>I want to run a select statement againt this view which can give me column data in this format.
    This xml is already stored in an Oracle XMLTYPE Object Relation table which conforms to a registered xsd schema document.
    select CREATED, MODE, EMP_ID, emp_nm, emp_dept, mgr, sal, updt_ts from employees_view.
    Result:
    2013-02-06T12:33:00 A 1 SCOTT FN DON  4000 2013-02-06T12:28:00
    2013-02-06T12:33:00 A 2 KEVIN HR MIKE 3000 2013-02-06T12:29:00How can I achieve this? I tried by getting various errors. I would appreciate if someone can send me a sample

    I guess the above makes a regular relational view? correct?Yes.
    How can I extract the of CREATED attribute from the top most employees element and attributes "MODE" and "emp_id" from EMPLOYEE_TRANS element ? You have to use a two-level approach :
    SQL> select x1.created, x2.*
      2  from EMPLOYEES_OR_TABLE t
      3     , xmltable('/EMPLOYEES'
      4         passing t.object_value
      5         columns created timestamp path '@CREATED'
      6               , emps    xmltype   path 'EMPLOYEE_TRANS'
      7       ) x1
      8     , xmltable('/EMPLOYEE_TRANS'
      9         passing x1.emps
    10         columns emp_mode varchar2(1)  path '@MODE'
    11               , emp_id   number       path '@emp_id'
    12               , emp_nm   varchar2(30) path 'emp_nm'
    13               , updt_ts  timestamp    path 'updt_ts'
    14       ) x2 ;
    CREATED                     EMP_MODE     EMP_ID EMP_NM                         UPDT_TS
    06/02/13 12:33:00,000000    A                 1 SCOTT                          06/02/13 12:28:00,000000
    06/02/13 12:33:00,000000    A                 2 KEVIN                          06/02/13 12:29:00,000000
    The first XMLTable x1 extracts top-level information, then passes the collection of EMPLOYEE_TRANS elements to a second XMLTable that breaks each item in separate rows and columns.
    It's also possible to use a single XMLTable, but with a little more complex XQuery expression.

  • Using Views to access XML Content

    I was wondering if anyone can help me in these questions.
    I created a view to access XML Content in the database for reports. My first question is I have 18 properties in the xml document but when I created the view I only retrieve one property information. What dO I need to change in my XPath query to get all the properties see script below
    CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW AHA_PMCO_BUILDINGS_VIEW
    (BUILDINGID,NUMBEROFFLOORS, CONSTRUCTIONDATE,NAME, BUILDINGTYPE, DEMODISPODATE,MODSTARTDATE,MODENDDATE, ISANNEX) as
    select extractValue(value(p),'/Building/@Id'),
         extractValue(value(p),'/Building/@NumberOfFloors'),
         extractValue(value(p),'/Building/@ConstructionDate'),
         extractValue(value(p),'/Building/@Name'),
         extractValue(value(p),'/Building/@BuildingType'),
         extractValue(value(p),'/Building/@DemolitionDispositionDate'),
         extractValue(value(p),'/Building/@ModernizationStartDate'),
         extractValue(value(p),'/Building/@ModernizationEndDate'),
         extractValue(value(p),'/Building/@IsAnnex')
    from "Pmco438_TAB" X, TABLE(xmlsequence (extract(value(X), '/Pmco/Properties[1]/Property[1]/Buildings/Building')) ) p;
    How do I change my script to retrieve multiple properties instead of just one property
    Thanks

    Hi Paul
    I have access to all the documents (JavaScript via Mozilla, Adobe JavaScript API, XFA API etc etc) but none are specific enough to cater for this issue.  I will work this out before too long but it would be very useful if someone who had done this already could shortcut my journey!
    Thanks
