  • Logging problem in j2ee sdk

    Hi, I downloaded j2ee sdk 1.4 for Windows. Any application using java.util.logging causes errors in server.log. For example this JSP:
    <%@page contentType="text/html"%>
    <%@ page import="java.util.logging.*" %>
    <%
    Logger log = Logger.getLogger("test");
    log.info("testing");
    %>
    causes this log:
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: test.LogStrings

    What's up with this LogStrings?? It seems this happens only with code that uses getLogger(name),
    if I use getLogger(name, null) it works normally. First one works just fine in Sun ONE 7. Does the
    appserver really create a resource bundle name from logger class name??!! Please tell me there is
    some configuration option I can use to prevent these errors.
    Thanks a lot if someone can reply,
    ode

    This is a Harmless and Annoying exception that will be logged eventhough it's handled appropriately. I believe this is fixed in the latest appserver release.Can you please download the latest release of AppServer and give it a try.

  • Database connection problem in J2EE sdk 1.3.1

    I am trying to connect to an oracle database. I have a servlet that calls a bean and in the ejbCreate() method of the bean i am calling code as follows
    DataSource ds = (DataSource) ic.lookup
    ("java:comp/env/jdbc/AccountDB");
    Connection conn=ds.getConnection();
    i am getting the follwing error
    java.sql.SqlException: No suitable driver found
    i am using oracle thin driver and have set it up in Forte and have also been able to connect in Forte to the database
    i have added foll. in Server configuration
    Driver class: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
    Driver url: jdbc:oracle:thin:@<host ip address>:1521:orcl
    jndi name: jdbc/AccountDB
    I would really appreciate any help here

    This error occurs if the db URL is framed wrongly. In this case,
    jdbc:oracle:thin:@<host ip address>:1521:orcl
    I don't know the exact syntax since I haven't worked with JDBC with Oracle. But, I have come across this error when the URL is framed wrongly.

  • Start the J2EE SDK in the foreground on Windows

    I have upgraded my development AS from Sun ONE 7 to J2EE SDK 8.1. One feature I miss most is: 7 used to live in a "Command Prompt" box where I could watch the log go by and sometimes press Ctrl+Break for a full thread dump.
    Apparently 8.1 starts everything as a background process, and Windows lacks the equivalents of "tail -f server.log" and "kill -QUIT <pid>".
    Is there a way to start 8.1 in the foreground, so that I can watch the log in real-time and generate a thread dump?

    You are right, domain creation requires config/asenv.bat file to be in place.
    It is possible that asenv.bat file did not get created properly due to incomplete uninstallation of the previous installation. To start from the scratch, follow the instructions in section 3 of this article:
    https://j2ee-sdk.dev.java.net/howtos/J2EE_SDK_Installation_HOWTO.html#p3
    (so, either install in a different location or cleanup component registration info).
    If installation on the clean system fails again please post any errors.

    What edition of LR 5? What edition of ACR does PSCS 6 contain. If they are not parallel (same edition number x in [5 or 8].x ), is LR making a tiff or psd rendition of the image?

  • One of the J2EE component (server0) could not be started in the MMC

    Hello there,
    How do I redeploy the following SDAs using SDM remote GUI tool?
    (Based on SAP note 942050)
    com.sap.security.core.offline.sda (extract from SAPJEECOR*_.SCA)
    com.sap.security.api.offline.sda (extract from SAPJEECOR*_.SCA)
    com.sap.security.core.ume.service.sda (extract from SAPJEE*_.SCA)
    When I tried to redeploy one of them, it gives me the following error:
    ~~~
    SDM has not calculated any deployment actions.
    Possible reasons:
    All selected archives have already been deployed before in the same or in a higher version.
    ~~~
    Kindly advise. Many thanks in advanced.
    <u><i><i><b>Side note:</b></i></i></u>
    The reason for doing is because I'm having this problem whereby one of the J2EE component (server0) could not be started in the MMC.
    No recent upgrade was done to my Solution Manager 4.0 server. The J2EE stack just died suddenly.
    Warmest regards,
    Eva

    Problem solved.

  • I have one problem with Data Guard. My archive log files are not applied.

    I have one problem with Data Guard. My archive log files are not applied. However I have received all archive log files to my physical Standby db
    I have created a Physical Standby database on Oracle 10gR2 (Windows XP professional). Primary database is on another computer.
    In Enterprise Manager on Primary database it looks ok. I get the following message “Data Guard status Normal”
    But as I wrote above ”the archive log files are not applied”
    After I created the Physical Standby database, I have also done:
    1. I connected to the Physical Standby database instance.
    CONNECT SYS/SYS@luda AS SYSDBA
    2. I started the Oracle instance at the Physical Standby database without mounting the database.
    STARTUP NOMOUNT PFILE=C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\database\initluda.ora
    3. I mounted the Physical Standby database:
    ALTER DATABASE MOUNT STANDBY DATABASE
    4. I started redo apply on Physical Standby database
    alter database recover managed standby database disconnect from session
    5. I switched the log files on Physical Standby database
    alter system switch logfile
    6. I verified the redo data was received and archived on Physical Standby database

    Please help me!!!!

    Hi,
    After several tries my redo logs are applied now. I think in my case it had to do with the tnsnames.ora. At this moment I have both database in both tnsnames.ora files using the SID and not the SERVICE_NAME.
    Now I want to use DGMGRL. Adding a configuration and a stand-by database is working fine, but when I try to enable the configuration DGMGRL gives no feedback and it looks like it is hanging. The log, although says that it succeeded.
    In another session 'show configuration' results in the following, confirming that the enable succeeded.
    DGMGRL> show configuration
    Configuration
    Name: avhtest
    Enabled: YES
    Protection Mode: MaxPerformance
    Fast-Start Failover: DISABLED
    Databases:
    avhtest - Primary database
    avhtestls53 - Physical standby database
    Current status for "avhtest":
    Warning: ORA-16610: command 'ENABLE CONFIGURATION' in progress
    It there anybody that experienced the same problem and/or knows the solution to this?
    With kind regards,
    Martin Schaap

  • How to calculate the number of vowels from a txt file. Pls give me a hand!!

    Guys! How do i calculate the number of vowels from a txt file? I have to create a program to count the number of words, sentence, and vowels. So far I had managed to count the number of words. Now I need help on counting sentence and vowels! Pls give me a hand guys!

    I first have to read from the file not the string.I
    know how to read from a file. Now the problem ishow
    to compare a character from a txt file!You fail to understand, that you have read the data
    from the file into a string. Now loop over all
    characters in the string. Forget about the file.
    KajOr forget the scanners just as others have told you. Just read the file character by character using a FileReader.

  • Urgent! Serious problem with J2EE Classloader!

    Hi all,
    I'm having a serious problem with j2ee Classloading.
    I have "inherited" a J2EE application where all business classes (invoked by the EJB) are placed in the Application's Server classpath (Weblogic 8.1.4).
    Very bad because every time a class is changed the a.s. must be restarted.
    So I re-enginereed the package putting the business classes in a jar that is referenced by the EJB's MANIFEST file.
    This way all the classes would be loaded by the EJB classloader and no need to start/stop weblogic.
    Unfortunately it's not such !! I discovered that all business classes are loaded via REFLECTION
    Object objCommand = objClass.newInstance();
    Object[] param = new Object[1];
    param[0] = aDataContainer;
    objDataContainerReturn = (DataContainer) objMethod.invoke(objCommand,param);
    and the application server cannot find them using the standard J2EE Classloader mechanism.

    Caused by: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: irma/utility/log/LogPrintStream
    at irma.business.service.LoginService.login(LoginService.java:79)
    On the other hand they're found if I put the classes on the application server classpath.
    Has anybody got advice for this ? Should I refactor the application giving up reflection ?
    Thanks a lot in advance.

    Reflection uses the classloader as well so it should work fine.
    A common cause of a NoClassDefFoundError is something in a parent classloader that refers to something only available in a child loader.
    For instance, do you have any of your application classes which are in the $CLASSPATH but reference something that is only (now) in the business.jar in your ear?

    and changed database to postgresql, too.

    Hi,
    I dont know how useful my reply would be since the question was posted about 2 yrs back, but just wanted to reply in case somebody faces the same problem.
    If you change the web port to some other port (other than 8000) then please check the sun-j2ee-ri.xml files. Actually the CatalogDAOSQL.xml is read using a url which includes the port you are running the server on. So, you need to change the port even in the sun-j2ee-ri.xml file.
    One of the sun-j2ee-ri.xml files, where you need to make the change is in the $PETSTORE_HOME/src/apps/petstore/src/sun-j2ee-ri.xml file.
    Other one is in $PETSTORE_HOME/src/apps/supplier/src/sun-j2ee-ri.xml file.
    Look for other sun-j2ee-ri.xml files where the url is hardcoded. (I think the two sun-j2ee-ri.xml files mentioned above, are the only places you need to make the change, but still look for other files in case i have missed)
    Change those urls and redeploy the ears.
    Hope this solves the problem.

    The cord on my MacBook charger broke. Is there anyway apple would give me a new one or do I have to buy one?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
    If you didn't cause the problem and the charger is in warranty, take it to any Apple Store or reseller and you will get a new charger for free.
    If you caused that the MacBook charger broke, you have to buy a MagSafe charger at an Apple Retail Store or the Apple Online Store > http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC461LL/A/apple-60w-magsafe-power-adapter-for- macbook-and-13-inch-macbook-pro?fnode=5a
