GL: API/Function name to find Segment Value.

Hi All,
We have two ledgers defined in EBS, Primary and Secondary.
Primary has different Char of Account Mapping setup compared to Secondary Ledger.
My requirement is that based on Primary Ledgers segment values i need to find out corresponding secondary ledgers valid segment values.
I can build the queries to do that. Just want to know if there is built in function or APi is available which I can use to derive segment values.

PURPOSE
System Items Key Flexfield setup시 2 segments item name format을 이용하
였으나 이 후 business 변경에 따라 item name format이 변경되는 경우가
발생한다. 이런 경우 이 note를 참조하여 item name segment를 변경할 수
있다.
Problem Description
Inventory item name은 아래의 procedures에 따라 2 segment value에서 1
segment value로 변경될 수 있다.
1. Segment1에 prefix를 더하여 value를 변경하고, segment2를 null 시킨다.
using a sql script:

update mtl_system_items_b
set segment1 = concat(segment1,'.&suffix'),
segment2 = null
where segment2 = '&seg2value';
2. System items KFF segment definition에서 segment2를 delete하고 KFF를
recompile 한다.

Solution Description
이 접근방법은 development로부터 확인받은 것이다.
1. Open Item Interface process는 item names update는 지원하지 않으므로
update script는 item name을 변경하기 위해 이용될 수 있다.
이 script를 이용하기 전에 아래의 내용을 확정한다.
-. Updating the segment1 with concat(segment1,',&suffix')
Client는 새로운 value가 segment1과 연관된 valueset을 만족시키는지
확인할 필요가 있다.
-. Segment2가 null이 되어도 문제가 없는지 확인해야 한다.
Item KFF definition에서 segment2가 현재 'Required'로 setting되어
있는지 점검한다.
2. mtl_system_items_b table에서 item 값을 update 한 후 systen item KFF
definition에서 segment2를 delete 후 KFF를 recompile 한다.
위 모든 변경 사항은 먼저 TEST instance에서 test 해야 한다.
TEST instance에서 성공적으로 test 된 후에야 TEST instance와 동일한 다른
instance에 적용할 수 있다.

The Cost_of_sales_account & Sales_account as defined in the MTL_PARAMETERS are different from those in MTL_SYSTEM_ITEMS_B for the corresponding item. The values for these accounts in the interface tables are same as that in the MTL_SYSTEM_ITEMS_B table and hence not same as those defined in MTL_PARAMETERS.
Actually we have a Custom trigger on the MTL_SYSTEM_ITEMS_B table which updates these accounts, once the item is created in the Master Organization.
To verify this issue, I updated the accounts on the MTL_SYSTEM_ITEMS_INTERFACE table to match with that of MTL_PARAMETERS. Ran the 'Item Import', now those records are processed.
Does this means that, the Interface is validating the cost_of_sales_account & sales_account to match with that of the 'Organization' ??.
But we never had this issue in 11i. Is this a part of R12??

Function Module to find out the release value in contract

Dear All,
I have to upload the contract with new accoutn assignment without changing the existing contract. For that i have to download all the existing contract data with value.
In that case i have some issues regarding the value.
For example : In the system old contract is created with value 1000 and the released value as 500.
In that case i have to uload the new contract with all the details of existing contract with value of 500 (1000-500=500).
How can i get the value (500) and from which table.Is there any functional module to find out the release value in contract.

You need to link the table VBFA and VBAK.
For a contract you can check all the subsequent document (which you can filter whether you want to see Order / delivery / Billing) in VBFA and then from there pick the subsequent document no. and then from VBAK you can pick the Net value of these subsequent documents, and so you will have both the values (value of Contract and value in subsequent document) and you can determine the balance value.

http://pratchev.blogspot.com/2008/11/import-xml-file-to-sql-table.html. The xml file and the code of this sample worked in my SSMS 2012 program.
(2) I am learning the "CAST" and "CROSS APPLY" in the Create Instances of XML Data of Microsoft MSDN - it is very abstract to me.

SQL Developer 1.5 and above uses PLScope to search for PL/SQL objects, when connected to an Oracle Database 11g.

You can use

Or if you want to user DBA_* tables, you can use.
select * from dba_tab_columns a, dba_tables b
where a.table_name = b.table_name
and a.owner = b.owner
and a.data_type in ('NUMBER', 'VARCHAR2', 'NCHAR', 'CHAR')
and b.owner not in ('SYS', 'SYSTEM');
And now when I look a bit more closely, you don't need DBA_TABLES there. dba_tab_columns alone is sufficient. And requirement is still not clear yet. Why you need a group by there? If I get it right, you can use this.
select * from dba_tab_columns a
where a.data_type in ('NUMBER', 'VARCHAR2', 'NCHAR', 'CHAR')
and a.owner not in ('SYS', 'SYSTEM');
Whether you use group by or not, the query will give you the same output.

I have a requuirement wherein i need to validate the semgent values of an GL Code Combination. I want to know is there any API to Validate the Segment Values. The API should be able to validate the segment values for existence in value set, enabled/disabled, Posting flag enabled or disabled (i.e Compiled Attributes Validation).Please provide me some pointers.

In OS Yosemite the search function in Mail, Finder, Spotlight- does not work

In OS Yosemite the search function in Mail, Finder, Spotlight… does not work. Messages or documents with the search criteria are there and one could find them manually, but the search function fails to find them. Following advice from Apple Support (728965377):
1. I applied an Apple protocol for adware removal (Remove unwanted adware that displays pop-up ads and graphics on your Mac); I had none, because I had formally utilized a similar protocol that I had found in Internet, actually an app that implemented automatically Apple's adware removal protocol.
2. I rebuild the post boxes in Mail (Mail (Yosemite): Reconstruir buzones); It took a while but it functioned properly
3. I re-install the System (OS X Yosemite: Reinstalar OS X); It took about 4 hours but there was no problem whatsoever with the installation.
Afterwards I searched for messages in Mail, and documents in Finder and Spotlight, without any difficulty. The search function in all of them was working properly. But the next time that I needed to search messages or documents, an hour later or so, the problem reappear and a couple of new issues occurred:
1. in app RagTime 6.5.2 (Build 1821), www.ragtime.de, the menu bar disappears (it is invisible), when one performs certain operations, e. g., calculating a value with a formula, whether it is in a spreadsheet or some other component (text, drawing, etc.). After touching with the cursor the menu bar is visible again.
2. after reading an e-mail in Mail or copying an address, this is seeing as a floating object in the finder and over every application. There is no logical way to get rid of the floating object and neither copying or deleting or cutting it. It is not a big issue but nonetheless bothersome.
3. In Mail, messages with Flag or in VIP contacts cannot be seen in the appropriate folders, only in the Incoming mail folder, together with other messages. It seems to me, this issue is part of same search function problem.
4. The preview function within Mail does not show the attached documents to a message, whether it is in the IN, OUT or Draft boxes.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try again to re-index Spotlight. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

How to get the function name/ID of the current page

I searched the forum and google, but it is not clear on how to get the function name of the current page.
I have 4 functions in my self service A ,B,C,D (seeded page links ) they all have to go to a page called hhhPG. Based on which function user is clicks I have to show the data in hhhPG.
so my question is how to get the function name ? I mean I need to know if user click on link A , B, C or D link and came to this page.
I found below in one forum and also there is getfunctionID in pageContext , but I do not know what to pass to getfunctionid("???") to get value.

Or is there a better way of know where user is coming from ? like geturl....

Significance of function name property in the OAF Page

Hello, I am trying to find out how the seeded LookupPG works as i need to use the same logic in my application. In the LookupPG page, in the function name property, it's specified as 'FND_LOOKUPS_SSWA'. I tried to open the function to see what is defined in that function and it's nothing but the path of the same page is defined in the function. I tried removing the function name from the page property and it gives me error. Can anyone tell me what's the significance of this function name property in oaf page? Appreciate your advice. You can add a Region of type Header and set the Text for that and add your table under the Header region.
Or you can Enter the Text attribute value for that table to get the header.
