Global variable in namespace javascript

Hi,
I have this code and want to put my Global var: var column = 'Weekday'; in my namespace: var pinkWeekday = pinkWeekday || {};       how do i do that?
var pinkWeekday = pinkWeekday || {};
var column = 'Weekday';
// Create function for rendering the field value
pinkWeekday.myFiledRender = function ()
var myFieldOverride = {};
//myFieldOverride.Templates = {};
myFieldOverride.OnPostRender = [ pinkWeekday.PostRender ];
// We need to register the rendering template
SPClientTemplates.TemplateManager.RegisterTemplateOverrides(myFieldOverride);

what happens if you just define it as a property:
var pinkWeekday = pinkWeekday || {};
pinkWeekday.column = 'Weekday';
pinkWeekday.myFieldRendered = function(){...};

  • Javascript array in global variables

    Hi,
    In my form, I created a global variable called MyArray. Then in my form's initialization script, I've set:
    myform.variables.MyArray = new Array(5);
    and I initialized each value.
    In one of my button's click event, I try to access my global array, without success. I tried:
    myform.variables.MyArray[0], myform.variables.MyArray.value[0]... has anyone managed to create a global variable and use it as an array?
    Thank you!

    Hello.
    I have used the "global." to get global variables. It works fine. I have code like this that works:
    // Initialize global array.
    global.chVArray = new Array(4);
    for (i = 1; i <= 4; i++){
       global.chVArray[i] = false;
    // Somewhere else...
    for (i = 1; i <= 4; i++){
       xfa.host.messageBox (global.chVArray[i].toString());

  • Acrobat javascript global variable

    what is the step by step procedure on how to define your global variable and where to declare it?

    You can create a global variable anytime you want, so when you do it really depends on when and where it needs to be accessible. If you provide more details about how you intend to use it, we can provide more guidance. Here's the basics:
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_Dev_AcrobatForms.76.38.ht ml
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.774.html
    The other important issue is whether it needs to be stored so it can be accessed the next time Acrobat is started. That's what the global.setPersistent method is for: http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.778.html

  • How do you override global variable values when calling oraxsl or xsl.exe?

    I am a newbie to oracle xslt.
    I have down loaded the latest version of xdk (10.1.0.2...). (Jan 2, 2009).
    In the past I haveI used micorsoft's "msxsl.exe" to perform my transformations.
    I am looking for a more up-to-date transformation tool.
    I found Oracle's version, and thought I would try it out.
    I have run the "bin/xsl.exe -hh" command.
    I read its help data. It states that variables are
    passed by coding a pramater "-V <var> <value>".
    I have also examined the oraxls.bat file.
    I found the documentation on "oracle.xml.parser.v2.oraxsl" class.
    It states that parameters are passed after the "-p" switch.
    It says the value of the -p parameter is "a list of paramemters".
    I don't find this sufficient information to be useful.
    I can spend days guessing, and I might get lucky.
    I thought it my be better to ask for help.
    I need to pass in (override) values for 3 global variables.
    I saw the method
    "setParam(namespace, variable, value)",
    near the documentation for the "oraxsl" class.
    How do you format the options string to communicate more than one param statement?
    (in either xsl.exe and/or oraxsl class).
    Suppose I have an xslt stylesheet as follows:
    ==================================================
    <?xml version="1.0" ?>
    <xsl:stylesheet version="1.1" xmlns:xsl='http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform' >
    <xsl:param name='a' select='"default_a"' />
    <xsl:param name='b' select='"default_b"' />
    <xsl:param name='c' select="'default_c"' />
    <xsl:template match='/'>
    this is value for a: <xsl:value-of select='$a' />
    this is value for b: <xsl:value-of select='$b' />
    this is value for c: <xsl:value-of select=$c' />
    <xsl:apply-templates />
    </xsl:template>
    </xsl:stylesheet>
    ========================================================
    Now as part of the calling of the XSL processor I want to change the value of these
    three global parameters.
    I want:
    a="current_a",
    b="current_b",
    and c="current_c"
    How do I express this using xsl.exe and its paramter string (-V ????).
    and/or how do I express it to the oraxsl class ( -p (xsl, a,"current_a"), (....) )???
    The syntax for specifying this information is not very clear in either situation.
    Of course I am making the "assumption" that by "param" they are
    refering to "global parameters" (as in my stylesheet), rather than some other global parameters of XLST.
    As an aside inquiry:
    I had hopped that the Oracle's xsl Verion 2 routine could handle xslt 2.0 commands
    such as "xsl:for-each-group", since it handled multiple xsl:outputs.
    From reading some of the documentation it seems it only handles xslt 1.0 syntax/commands.
    Is this true? (or is the documentation not up-to-date?).
    Any help on passing param values to xsl.exe and/or "oraxsl" class is appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Here is the line from one of my testing .bat files that passed in one parameter. I can't recall if I've passed in two, but this will give you a starting point for passing in multiple
    java -cp %CPath% oracle.xml.parser.v2.oraxsl -p show_image='yes' %ValXML% %ValXSLT% As for XSLT 2.0 support, it appears it does per {thread:id=503445}

  • Setting the value of an Application Item (setting a global variable);

    In APEX 3.2.0.00.27, I need to initialize a global variable to 0 to implement a variable for testing to see if anything on the page has changed. Will update to 1 when certain select lists on the page are changed. Have read through some similar questions and replies within the forum as well as other blogs and sites. So, I believe what I am doing is the way to go about this. Unfortunately, my initialization of an application item/global isn't happening yet. here's a rundown of what has been implemented:
    1) created an application item, G_CLASSIFICATION_ID_NEW in the shared components;
    2) created Javascript (JS) function called by addLoadEvent in the page html header region so when the page loads, the G_CLASSIFICATION_ID_NEW global/application item should get set to 0 with the following JS and using AJAX and htmldb_GET:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function initVars()
    alert("before get initvars");
    var get = new htmldb_Get(null,$x('pFlowId').value,null,22);
    get.add('G_CLASSIFICATION_ID_NEW', 0);
    gReturn = get.get();
    if(gReturn){
    alert(gReturn.value);
    get = null;
    alert("after get initvars");
    alert("before call to initpage");
    addLoadEvent(initVars());
    </script>
    I've used the htmldb_Get with success for populating other global variables and running On Demand Processes with onchange JS calls in the html form element attributes within select lists on the page. Afterwards, I can check the globals via the Session window and searching on Application Items. Unfortunately, I'm missing something because my G_CLASSIFICATION_ID_NEW never gets populated when I load the page. The alerts all popup when the page is loaded, so I know the script is being executed when the page loads. the alert(gReturn.value) comes back undefined. And, needless to say, the G_CLASSIFICATION_ID_NEW to 0 is not occurring.
    I've tried the htmldb_Get with it calling an application process and without (set to null). From what I've read, you shouldn't need to call an on demand process to have the get.add set the global variable. Then again, this could be where I'm going wrong. however, as I've mentioned, this works for other functions called from an onchange to populate an application item, but the page has already loaded when the onchange(s) get executed. They may work because the page is already loaded when the onchange is called. My point here is that my other On demand processes are NOT setting or changing the global variables at all. The globals are getting set with the get.add(<app item>, <value>) portion of my other JS functions within the HTML Header region. So, I'm inclined to believe that I don't need the 'application_process=<some_odp>' parameter set, but if that's not true, please let me know. if so, what would need to be in the on demand process--ie, what would be the purpose of the get.add(<application item>, <value>) if I set the global variable in the on demand process because that's the only thing I could think of doing within an on demand process for this?
    If somebody can point out what I'm not understanding or failing to do here, that would be great. I'm doing fine with APEX, but wouldn't consider myself a guru with it just yet. I'm definitely not a JS/AJAX guru, and when things like this go astray, I get bogged down because I'm not sure of the problem. So, I'm hoping you gurus who monitor this forum can get me going in the right direction.
    thanks,
    bob

    Hi Jari,
    Does that javascript work if you place it some of region footer on page 22 ?Yes. I cut it out of the html header of the page, and put it in the footer of the first region on the page. It initializes the variable. Putting it into the footer of the first region on the page should work for me instead of having an extra region on the page that's being picked up from page 0.
    Is your page 22 authentication public ?No. This particular page is set for an ADMINISTRATOR only. That said, I am logged in as an administrator. So, I cannot see why setting authentication should make a difference as long as I have that authentication/authorization. Also, there will be other pages where I want to use this script or a similar script, but again, those pages will not be open to the public. the authentication will be "role" based where a user will not necessarily have to be an administrator, but they will have to have a certain role to access the page. Is there a known problem or something that precludes a html header JS script from doing an addloadevent when authentication is NOT public?
    thank you,
    bob

  • Moment global variable values

    In ISF/Javascript, what are all the values for the Moment global variable?
    For example, (Moment == "ordering") can be used to check if the current moment is Ordering moment. What are the values for all other moments, specifically Service Group Review and Service Group Authorization moments?
    Thank you.

    The values for Service Group Review moment is "streviews" and Service Group Authorization moment is "stauthorizations".
    You are correct that these are not in the designer documentation.  One way you can find them is through view page or frame HTML source when the service form is in that particular moment, and look for the word "Moment".

  • Using a global variable within a function

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to learn how to use global variables, but can't quite get it right:
    Im trying to use two buttons, named UpButton and DownButton to control one global variable, p1
    A text field, named "Value" displays p1.
    Here's my code:
    p1 = 0;
    ButtonClick("UpButton", p1, 100,"Value");
    ButtonClick("DownButton", p1,(-100),"Value");
    function ButtonClick(ButtonName,Var,Increment,TextToChange){
                        sym.$(ButtonName).click(function(){
                        Var = Var + Increment;
                        sym.$(TextToChange).html(Var);
    However, it seems to be treating p1 as two different variables.
    Here's a link to the page to show you what I mean, apologies but this link wont work in google chrome because I'm using dropbox as a server temporarily
    In other browsers you may need to click "Show all content" or similar to any security warnings...

    Any help greatly appreciated, sorry if this is a stupid question,
    Katherine

    Hi Katherine,
    However, it seems to be treating p1 as two different variables.
    Indeed, your code created two different variables in two different scopes (I guess it as to do with JavaScript closures, but do  not ask me more, I am still a bit foggy about that idiosyncrasy ).
    In JavaScript, a primitive parameter – this is the case here with p1, a Number value –, is passed by value. In other words, a copy of the value is made. Your code handles two copies of the value stored in p1.
    This contrasts with an object parameter, which is passed by reference (address in memory), without copy. Your code would work if Numbers were passed by reference : the two Var (p1) would then point to the same address.
    The intent behind your trial is a global variable.
    1) Let us be as simple as possible :
    Stage : document.compositionReady event handler
    p1 = 0;
    buttonClick = function( Increment)
      p1 += Increment;
      sym.$( "Value").html( p1);
    Stage : DownButton.click event handler
    buttonClick(-100);
    Stage : UpButton.click event handler
    buttonClick(100);
    Without being preceded by the var keyword the variables are global.
    So the Number variable p1 can be accessed inside function buttonClick.
    And the Function variable buttonClick as well, is accessible inside click event handlers, everything (function definition +function calls) being inside the same symbol (Stage).
    2) Now, suppose this is no longer the case : you want to access a variable from another symbol.
    We create a new GraySquare symbol, instantiated both in the DownButton symbol (instance name DownSquare) and in the UpButton symbol (instance name DownSquare).
    Stage : document.compositionReady event handler
    p1 = 0;
    sym.buttonClick = function( Increment)
      p1 += Increment;
      sym.$( "Value").html( p1);
    The sym. prefix is now necessary to make the variable (here a Function, but you would proceed exactly the same with a String, Number or Boolean) accessible in other symbols.
    DownButton symbol : DownSquare.click event handler
    sym.getComposition().getStage().buttonClick( -100);
    UpButton symbol : UpSquare.click event handler
    sym.getComposition().getStage().buttonClick( 100);
    From these other symbols, the sym.getComposition().getStage(). prefix is necessary to acces to our global variable (function).

    One problem with using service objects for global variables is
    the flat namespace they expose.I thought that was the definition of a global variable.
    I could find no sanctioned way to provide a NameSpace that was

    to a server partition, but not to any others or to the clients?"
    If so, how 'bout putting them in a user-visible service object?
    Remember, "user-visible" is Forte's mis-terminology for

    Yes, that is a better way to say it.
    If so, how 'bout putting them in a user-visible service object?
    Remember, "user-visible" is Forte's mis-terminology for
    "partition-visible." No law that I'm aware of says you can't put

    Unfortunately all Forte Service Objects share a single name space. I
    thought from the documentation that User Visible Service Objects would work
    for me. However, when I tried User Visible Service Objects, they didn't
    quite do the trick because what I wanted was identically named service
    objects that resolve to a different local instance for each partition. So
    no matter where my code was running, it could call ProcessLocalStore.Foo()
    and it would get the ProcessLocalStore for that partition. Note that I am
    not talking about replicated partitions. Even though they are called
    "user-visible service objects, there can only be one instance of the named
    service object in any given Forte environment.

  • Loading defining global variables?

    Hello all!
    I have a project that is an online presentation, which I (being no pro in codeing) create in Edge and Muse. I create the animation in Edge, publish it as OAM and place it into the muse site/page. Master looks fine and I am happy with it.
    My problem, that I have to solve, is that it has to be translated into 44 Languages and kept updated regularly, which is near to impossible without using external data source.
    I thought to create an XML file for each language and use it for text and maybe Image content. I can use an xml file for a specific animation, but at my current knowledge level i!Il have to define the variables and the source of content for each and every animation/object.
    What I would like to see is that if you land on the Index page, you can choose the preferred language, and all the content appeares in the given language. For that (my best guess) I'll have to define global variables, which do not lose their value i.e.: which is my preferred language.
    How do I do that? Had anyone a similar issue? Also, how do I use external data in Muse?
    Any help would be appreciated!

    Here it is :
    In the Stage > document.compositionReady event handler, we define a JavaScript object LANG containing
    • a property flag that is the state of the displayed flag (in the example file, symbol drapeau, french for flag) ;
    • a function switchLang executed each time the flag is clicked, to refresh the content of
    - the three titles (b1A_tit, b1B_tit, b1C_tit) by  assigning hard-coded values,
    - the three texts (b1A_txt, b1B_txt, b1C_txt) by loading HTML snippets files in a text folder.
    LANG =
      flag: 'NL',
      switchLang: function()
        sym.getSymbol('bandeauH').getSymbol('drapeau').stop( LANG.flag);
        var symBloc1A = sym.getSymbol("bloc1A");
        var symBloc1B = sym.getSymbol("bloc1B");
        var symBloc1C = sym.getSymbol("bloc1C");
        switch (LANG.flag)
          case 'NL':
            symBloc1A.$('b1A_tit').html("Montagne");
            symBloc1A.$('b1A_txt').load('text/b1A_FR.html');
            symBloc1B.$('b1B_tit').text("Peinture");
            symBloc1B.$('b1B_txt').load('text/b1B_FR.html');
            symBloc1C.$('b1C_tit').text("Maison d’hôtes");
            symBloc1C.$('b1C_txt').load('text/b1C_FR.html');
            LANG.flag = 'FR';
            break;
          case 'FR':
            symBloc1A.$("b1A_tit").text("Montagne");
            symBloc1A.$('b1A_txt').load('text/b1A_NL.html');
            symBloc1B.$("b1B_tit").text("Schilderen");
            symBloc1B.$('b1B_txt').load('text/b1B_NL.html');
            symBloc1C.$("b1C_tit").text("Bed & Breakfast");
            symBloc1C.$('b1C_txt').load('text/b1C_NL.html');
            LANG.flag = 'NL';
            break;
    LANG.switchLang();
    The drapeau > click event handler is a single call to LANG.switchLang();

    In short, I want the code within:
    ----- form1.#subform[0].Item1Cost::calculate: - (JavaScript, client) -------------------------------
    ...to be able to access the variables I have created in:
    ----- form1.#subform[0]::initialize: - (FormCalc, client) ------------------------------------------
    (I have assumed that this is where I would store Global variables)
    At this stage, the global variables cannot be accessed with the configuration above.  The only was I can get this to work is to cut and paste the global vairables into each form1.#subform[0] item, which of course defeats the purpose of global variables!  I plan to have many more items so would not want to duplicate the global variables for all of them!
    Can somebody show me how to do this?
    Any help is very much appreciated!
    Thanks

    Hi MorisTM,
    Thanks for the reply!
    Yes, I saw that option (I should have mentioned I already knew about it), but was wondering if there is a way I can do this via code.
    There are two reason I want to be able to do it via code (only one of which may be valid):
    1) I can automatically generate my pricing code form another inhouse app.
    2) I am hoping that later on once I get this working I will be able take it a step further and get the data directly from a MySQL database!
    Cheers though!
    Any other suggestions?

  • Use of global variables like g_cnt_transactions_transferred in the LSMW

    Hi SapAll.
    when i had a look at the some of the LSMW's whic use IDOC as the object of uploading data into SAP from external Files i have found in the coding under the step "Maintain Field Mapping and Conversion Rules" that they use some of the global variables like below
    .if p_trfcpt = yes or sy-saprl >= '46A'.
      EDI_DC40-DOCNUM = g_cnt_transactions_transferred + 1.
    endif.
    .EDI_DC40-CIMTYP = g_cimtyp.
    .EDI_DC40-MESTYP = g_mestyp.
    .EDI_DC40-MESCOD = g_mescod.
    .if p_filept = yes.
      EDI_DC40-SNDPOR = g_fileport.
    elseif p_trfcpt = yes.
      EDI_DC40-SNDPOR = g_trfcport.
    endif.
    my doubt is where i can find these variables 'g_cnt_transactions_transferred ','g_cimtyp','g_mescod','g_fileport','g_trfcport' in the LSMW and what is the use of the variable  'g_cnt_transactions_transferred ' in the LSMW.
    I have treid to find out the above listed variables looking in step 'Maintain Field Mapping and Conversion Rules' under global variabels list and the other lists also but i couldnt found.
    can any one help me in this ?
    regards.
    Seetha.

    Hi Seetha,
               In the LSMW Workbench go to the option user menu.  And check the option display conversion program.
    Now when you execute with the radio button on dislplay conversion program, you ll see the code that got generated in the background while you built your LSMW.
    The global variables that you have mentioned are bound to be there in this program generated in the background..
    You can put a break point here and see for yourself what the value of these global variables are at runtime.
    File port, TRFC port , no. of transactions executed by one run of the LMSW Idoc program , message type are some of the fields that you have asked for .

  • Java Threads vs. Native Global Variables

    A brief description of the problem:
    I am trying to integrate a multi-threaded Java app with legacy Fortran code. The Fortran code in question makes extensive use of global variables in the form of Fortran's Common Block data structure.
    If multiple threads were allowed access to a native routine, they would over write each others data which is stored in global variables.
    If only one thread at a time can have access to the native routine for the duration of the native routine, the whole advantage of using threads is completely nullified.
    These native routines cannot be rewritten (3rd party code) and must be used.
    One solution I envisioned was to load a new copy of the native shared object code for each Java object that used the native code. However, it seems System.loadLibrary() can only be used in a static context.
    Is there any known solution to this problem?

    Here is an elaboration on the earlier suggestions. It's a high overhead solution, because you have to start a bunch of JVMs.
    1. You have a java control program, which will start up a pool of "services", make requests to them, and gather the results.
    2. Each service is a small java program with a native method:
    o java communications front-end.
    o native method declaration.
    o native - in your case fortran - method implementation.
    3. Each service is started using "exec". That puts it in a separate process.
    4, Since each service is a java program, you can use java to do communications between the control program and the service.
    o You could use RMI.
    o You could - perhaps - use java Process communications, i.e., have the services write to stdout, and have the control program capture the output.
    o You could use socket communications.

  • Unit Testing and APEX Global Variables

    We've recently started to unit test our database level PL/SQL business logic.
    As such we have a need to be able to simulate or provide output from PL/SQL APEX components in order to facilitate testing of these components.
    Some of the most obvious portions that need simulation are:
    1. The existence of a session
    2. The current application ID
    3. The current page ID.
    We currently handle requirement #1 by using apex_040100.wwv_flow_session.create_new
    We handle 2 and 3 using the apex_application.g_flow_id and g_flow_step_id global variables.
    I'm just wondering, how safe is it for us to use wwv_flow_session.create_new to simulate the creation of a session at testing time for those things which need a session?
    I've also noticed that there are apex_application.get_application_id and apex_application.get_page_id functions whose output is not tied to the global variables (at least in our current version).
    Is it safe for us to expect that we can set these global variables for use in testing or is apex moving to get_application_id and get_page_id functions away from global variables?
    Will there be corresponding set_application_id and set_page_id functions in the future?
    Sorry for the question bomb. Thanks for any help.

    My first question would be why do you need to establish a session to test your PL/SQL?
    wwv_flow_session is a package internal to APEX, and you should probably leave it be.
    The get_application_id procedure you refer to is in apex_application_install, which is used for scripting installation of applications - not get/set of page ID like you're describing.
    If you're uncomfortable using apex_application.g_flow_id, you can use v('APP_ID') or preferably pass the app_id/page_id as parameters to your procedures.
    Your question seems to have a few unknowns, so that's the best I can describe.

  • Can F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST FM return a value in a global variable?

    Hi everybody,
    I need to use F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST FM because I have to let users select an specific option before choosing another value. The point is that I need to save in a program global variable what the user selects, and decide something with it in the program.
    Is it possible that F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST FM returns the value in a sinple variable or it has to be paramter?
    I look in a lot of previous threads but I didn't find anything, and I don't know if it's possible.
    Thanks and kind regards,
    MMP.

    Hi,
    Sure you can. All you need to do is to store what the function returns in your global variable. It don't need to be returned back to screen field.
    DATA: BEGIN OF VALUES OCCURS 0,
             CARRID TYPE SPFLI-CARRID,
             CONNID TYPE SPFLI-CONNID,
           END OF VALUES.
    DATA: VALUES_TAB TYPE TABLE OF VALUES,
              G_VALUE TYPE SPFLI-CONNID.  "global variable to store what is returned
    "in PAI first populate your table
      SELECT  CARRID CONNID
        FROM  SPFLI
        INTO  CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE VALUES_TAB
        UP TO 10 ROWS.
    "then call the function but don't return the value to screen field
    "If you specify the import parameters DYNPPROG, DYNPNR, and DYNPROFIELD, the useru2019s selection is
    "returned to the corresponding field on the screen. If you specify the table parameter RETURN_TAB, the
    "selection is returned into the table instead.
    CALL FUNCTION 'F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST'
           EXPORTING
                RETFIELD         = 'CONNID'
                VALUE_ORG        = 'S'
           TABLES
                VALUE_TAB        = VALUES_TAB
                RETURN_TAB      = RETURN_TAB.
    "now simply read first row of return tab and store the value returned there in some global var
    READ RETURN_TAB INDEX 1.
    MOVE RETURN_TAB-FIELDVAL TO G_VALUE.

  • Problem with .DLL and global variables

    Hi,
    I need some helps to figure out my problem.
    I wrote a .dll file to open and run a GUI. When I run it at the first time, it is ok. When I call it again, there is an error "Pointer to free memory passed to library. It will be ok if I completely exit the program that calls the .dll before re-call it. I think there is some problems with global variables when I call another thread. How can I free global variables between threads. Is there any solution for this problem?
    Thanks

    Vinh Pham:
    Are you doing anything intentionally that frees your globals?
    CVI ships with an example program that demonstrates calling a DLL to create a user interface: guidll.cws.
    I made two simple modifications to guidll.cws.
    1. In guidll.c, I made hpanel global by moving its declaration from RunDLLUI() to right below the #include statements.
    2. In useguidll.c, I duplicated the lines calling RunDLLUI () and MessagePopup() to call the DLL gui twice.
    I built the project and ran it.  I had no problems with free'ed globals.
    Take a look at the guidll example.
    Can you either post your code or a modification to guidll that demonstrates the problem you're having?
