GO Button Hide

Hi Experts,
Is ther any options on whether a 'GO' button can be removed from the Dashboard prompt(drop down). When the user selects the prompts the action whatever happens when you click 'Go' button should happen. Check if we can hide the Go button and write a script/code for auto click for the prompts, at the same time we need to be able to retain the Presentation Variable setting capability.
Thanks,
Malli

  • SC-Cost Assignment Create Asset Master Button Hide

    Hi All,
We are using SRM 5 SP013.
We have a requirement to hide the 'Create Asset Master' Button under cost assigment tab ( when we select Asset) and to make the Asset class field display mode..
I used the BADI BBP_UI_CONTROL_BADI ( method BBP_SC_UI_CTRL). For hiding , I used the field ASSET_BUTT and for Asset class, I used the field GS_ASSET_C-ASSET_CLASS.
    But nothing worked out.
Could you please help me? Am I in right direction or missing something.
    Regards,
    Nikhil

    Hi,
You are certainly using the right BADI and field name.
In the BADI, you should set the export parameter as CV_INVISIBLE = 'X' (i.e. invisible) and CV_INPUT_READY= ' ' (i.e. display) for the 2 fields as required. And also activate the BADI.
If nothing works still, report to SAP support.
    Regards.

  • Command Button - hide data

    Hi All,
In my JSF application, I have two buttons BUTTON1 and BUTTON2 in same jsp page.
Onclick of BUTTON1, it will invoke METHOD1 and displays some data (let us call it as DATA1).
Onclick of BUTTON2, it will invoke METHOD2 and displays some data (let us call it as DATA2).
My concern is Onclick of *{color:#008000}BUTTON2{color}*, it has to display only *{color:#008000}DATA2{color}* and *{color:#ff0000}hide DATA1{color}*.
and OnClick of {color:#008000}*BUTTON1*{color}, it has to display only *{color:#008000}DATA1{color}* and *{color:#ff0000}hide DATA2{color}*.
    Please advice me.

Create a new bean. Don't mix request scoped and session scoped data with each other in a huge bean which is potentially doing too much. If you really have a hard head in this, then just clear data2 in method1 and vice versa, so that it don't get displayed.

  • Make a button hide and show an image

I want a button to hide and then show an image, basically an on/off switch.  I tried accomplishing this using multipl slides that jump around but even after removing all transitions, you can still tell that the slides are changing instead of just the image appearing and disappearing.  I have seen some posts about advanced actions but it's reading clear as mud.

    Christina,
If you want a toggle button, that can be done with advanced actions. What did you read already? And which version of Captivate are you using?
    The idea is that:
You create the image, but set its visibility unchecked in the Properties panel
You create a user variable, will label it v_visib that has a start value of 0, will be set to 1 when the image is visible
You create a conditional advanced action, that will check the value of v_visib:
IF v_visib is equal to 0
        Show Image
         Assign v_visib with 1
    ELSE
        Hide Image
        Assign v_visib with 0
I blogged several times about toggle buttons:

  • How do I make hyperlink buttons hide until I want them?

I have a map with stops on it. I have made each stop a (on relase or Tap) button so that a box shows up on the side with info about that stop.
Reasonable easy...except i want to put a close button and hyperlinks on this text box. So i have created multiple actions for a button to hide buttons show other buttons etc
This is where it gets tricky. It seems that if i create a hyperlink button and tell it to be "Hidden until Triggered" it doesnt stay hidden. it is invisible but if i move the mouse over that area the hand curser comes up. i cant have them being acidentally clicked. Is there anything i am doing wrong? There is going to be ALOT of these so i have to get it right now.
any help will be greatly appreciated.

Encore does not provide scripting which is what I think may help.
But it may not, since "hover" implies you are playing back on computer. That won't work even for the workaround used for this by using autoactivate to move from a still to motion menu.

  • Button Hide / Unhide Sequence

    I have a series of three buttons A, B, C on a form.
When the form is first opened I need only button A to be visible (B & C both hidden).
Once A has been clicked, I need B to become visible (A & C both hidden).
Once B has been clicked, I need C to become visible (A & B both hidden).
Any help with this issue is greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
I suspect the problem is that the email submit is being processed before the button presence script has fired. This means that the form is saved and attached to an email without the button changes. Try swapping the script around so that the presence of the buttons; and saving the file are dealt with before the submit script is fired.
You could split the total into two buttons (one hidden). The visible button could deal with the button presence; save the form; and call the click event of the hidden button (which would have the submit by email script).
Stefan Cameron has examples of two-button submits on his blog and I know that Paul has also posted different submit options (can't locate where).
Alternatively if you want to deal with one button, you could separate the two functions (button presence AND submit) into two different events of the same button; e.g. presence in the mouseUp and submit in the click event. This would need a bit of testing...
Also check that you have are preserving the script changes (in the File / Form Properties / Defaults tab):
    Good luck,
    Niall

  • Reset button hides image box

I have a dynamic form where the users can import jpg images into the form.  This works just fine, but when they reset the form, the image box minimizes and the users are unable to re-use the box without exiting the program and re-entering.  Basically, my users are going to create a flowchart in Paint or Word, save the image as jpg and place it into the form.  They will be using Adobe Reader, so it appears the field needs to be an image field.  Is there any way I can make the field reset to it's starting size and position?  A copy of the form is attached.

    Hi,
A couple of things are going on here. When I used the ".h" property that overrode the expand to fit height. The trouble then was to change this to the ".minH" property; however when the imageField is null the min height went to zero.
Therefore I have left the script in the click event as it was (just the full reference for the exhibit imageField:
    DiagramText.rawValue = null;
    DiagramText.h = "0.8782in";
    Diagram.rawValue = null;
    Diagram.h = "0.6813in";
    Exhibit.ExhibitBox.rawValue = null;
    Exhibit.ExhibitBox.h = "0.6813in";
Then in the mouseUp event of each imageField I had the following which restored the "expand to fit height" functionality.
    this.minH = "0.6813in";
Appears to work now. Good luck,
    Niall

Thank you for your help !!
But i have some furder problems:
instead of "If(ButVis = "No", false, true)" i had to set to "If(ButVis = "No"; false; true)" ... instead of comma i have to use semicolon
i can't make a concatenation like you made in OnSelect property :(  it show me a mistake when i set the semicolon
f.e : i only need to hide it once, so i dont need the first UpdateContext({ButVis:"Yes"}) ... it works fine, the button hides in the test mode, but if i close the testmode, the button still is hiding. How can i make it, that the button is visible

  • Pause / Resume button combination not working when set to display for "rest of project"

    Good day,
I have created a set of four objects on slide2 of my project
    1. Smart Object rounded rectangle with text "(playing) - CLICK to Pause" [this is the graphic the user sees]
    2. Smart Object rounded rectangle with text "(paused) - CLICK to Resume" [this is the graphic the user sees]
    3. Smart Object rectangle, transparent, used as button, set to not display in project - btn_Resume
    4. Smart Object rectangle, transparent, used as button - btn_Pause
    A. Script assigned to btn_Pause hides btn_Pause and the "CLICK to Pause" graphic, shows the btn_Resume and "CLICK to Resume" graphic, and pauses the project by setting the system pause variable to 1
    B. Script assigned to btn_Resume hides btn_Resume and the "CLICK to Resume" graphic, shows the btn_Pause and "CLICK to Pause" graphic, and resumes the project by setting the system resume variable to 1
    C. All items are set to display from the beginning of slide2 for the "rest of project"
On slide 2, the buttons hide/show and pause/resume behaviors work correctly.
On slide 3, the correct initial button and graphic appears, and the click sound works when clicked, but no behaviors (show/hide/pause) occur until a good amount of time into the slide: you can click all you want for 20-30 seconds, but nothing works except the click sound. Eventually, the behavior will work.
On slides 4 and following, the correct initial button and graphic appears, and the click sound works when clicked, but no behaviors EVER work.
If the behaviors NEVER, EVER worked, I would keep looking for what I did not have set correctly, but the correct working on the slide where they are set, delayed behavior on the next, and no behavior on the remainder of slides following has me stumped.
    Captivate version 6.0.1.240
    Windows 7 OS
I hope I'm missing something obvious here, and I'm more than willing to face-palm if you tell me . Otherwise, I have not been able to find any setting that makes any difference. I would REALLY rather not duplicate the buttons and scripts on every page of the project. Given the blog posts I have seen saying this method should work just fine, I'm hoping there is a side quirk somewhere that I'm missing.
Thanks for any help you can give.

Without clouding with too much explanation, this technique arose out of a need to deal with (in a different project) objects that were grouped, and wanting to deal with the groups in as simple a way as possible, allow for easy swapping of group assets, and having a few buttons do multiple things. The idea of being able to have multiple interactive buttons stacked on top of each other while appearing for the rest of the project led to trying this simple construct before trying something more complex.
You are correct, that there is a simpler solution, which we ended up using because we were not able to get two interactive buttons stacked on top of each other while displayed for the rest of the project to work properly (although that is SUPPOSED to work, as far as I understand).
Here's what we ended up doing:
    A) Two smartshapes used as messaging graphics
    B) A single (one) interactive smartshape used as a button
    C) A conditional action to pause/resume and show/hide the appropriate messaging graphics
    D) All three objects (A&B) stacked, B on top.
    E) All objects set to always appear on top, and to display for rest of project.
Our hypothesis, then, is that you are not able to stack interactive objects on top of each other and then display for the rest of the project.
If anyone has evidence to the contrary, we would, gladly, take a look.
Thanks for your interest Lilybiri, and for your input.
    Best regards,
    Hank

  • Button on slides randomly doesn't work

Hi there, apologies for posting another question but this is quite bewildering.
I have a project that has some slides that have a number of images on them. Each image is a button that executes an advanced action that "opens" a "layer/lightbox" that has relevant information on it (and hides any other that may be open at the time) plus a small "X = close" button in the top right corner that does the reverse. Basically the images open hidden grouped items creating the illusion of layers, etc, and the close button hides each "layer" accordingly. Testing locally everything behaves perfectly and smoothly.
It's only when uploaded to the LMS that the following issue occurs, in that occasionally, for some users the X button in the top of the "layer" doesn't work. The user is kind of stuck... well, not really - other slide buttons like forward and back, plus the master slide menu buttons all work no problem.
The X buttons are smart shapes and at the top of each groups timeline.
When I test and check they can work perfectly on first test but then the problem manifests the next time I check. It may be the third or fourth time, but if I try enough times the glitch occurs.
Something that may be related and is also bugging me is that in order for the information to look clean on the slide each group has a smart shape layer background that is sized to the 'stage area' to block out the underlying information. The shape is white with 100% opacity and no timeline effects or Timing fade, yet when I view it online I can definitely see the "base layer" background seeping through very, very slightly. Like a hint of transparency. Which makes me think that something in these particular slides is corrupt and causing the issues.
Has anyone else witnessed something similar? I did check and this is not a Pause/Continue slide error (AFAIK) but I couldn't find anything about buttons random not working.
Thank you as always for taking time out to read.

Hi Lieve. Thank you for the prompt response.
The background shape that is slightly see through is in each (hidden) group on the slide itself. Basically, on one slide I have 9 groups that each have a smart shape as a background (bottom of it's timeline grouping), and the same thing on 3 other slides.
The background shape layer in one of the hidden groups:
    The slight transparency issue:
I would provide more comprehensive screengrabs of what I am describing but the image content is quite gruesome (medical) and I wouldn't want anyone get ill on these forums.
I was just reading that Dare To Share link and am really impressed how well you explained the functionality. The original documentation was not so great. I will have to apply Shared Actions to all future Captivate module development.
The action associated with the Close button:
    Again, thanks for your assistance.

  • Button Display Symptom

I have 3 regions on a page and the 2nd region has 4 buttons and an SQL query report which displays data from EMP.
    There are two page item:
HIDE_SHOW -- which is Show to show the data and Hide to hide the data.
P1_SAL_LIMIT -- which limits the employees shown by salary: 0 (default), 1500 or 2000
    The buttons are:
Show -- which, when pressed, shows the report (Not the entire region just the data lines of the report.)
(The Show button displays when  :HIDE_SHOW = 'Hide'. Note the data is hidden when this button displays.)
Hide -- which, when pressed, hides the report
(The Hide button displays when  :HIDE_SHOW = 'Show' and the data is being displayed.)
      SAL > 1500 -- Which show only employees with sal > 1500
      SAL > 2000 -- which show only employees with sal > 2000
    The Query is
      select ename,job,sal
        from emp
       where :HIDE_SHOW = 'Show' and SAL > :P1_SAL_LIMIT
    What works:
Show, Hide and Sal > 1500 work fine together.  Note: the Sal > 1500 button sets :HIDE_SHOW to 'Show' so one can see the data.
But I need to do a computation when a Sal button is pressed, so here is what I tried.  The SAL > 2000 button is set up with Dynamic Actions (PL/SQL block and page refresh).  Note: I need to do a branch to (the same) page or a refresh rather than a page submit because of activity which may be pending in the other regions on the page.
What I need /expected when Sal > 2000 is pressed: Tthe Hide button will display because :HIDE_SHOW is set to 'Show' and data is being displayed.
Problem when Sal > 2000 is pressed:  Even though I set :HIDE_SHOW to 'Show' in the computation, pressing Sal > 2000 has no effect on the Show button.
It's a Session State problem, right?  But I'm not sure how to solve it without a Submit.   I added a Set Value to the DAs but that did not solve the problem.
How do I get the "Show" button to react to the change in the value of :HIDE_SHOW?
You can see it set up here:
    WS:  APEX_EXAMPLES_01
    demo / demo
    Application 16604 (Button Control), p. 1
    Thanks,
    Howard

Yes, you're right, the Show buttons were not quite working, sorry, I was concentrating on the filters.  I fixed the hide show for the first region.  Region 2 is mostly there and you can replicate the functionality for that one. However, the Sal filter buttons for region 2 do work and you can see how it all works independently.  Please concentrate on the techniques.
The basic steps for the filters are:
    1. Set the filter limit
    2. Set the Hide_Show variable
    3. Hide the Show button
    4. Show the Hide button
    5. Refresh the report.
Notice the computations. They are needed to initialize the values.
I also changed things so they don't trigger off the change of value of an item.  That just seems obscure to me when the user cannot directly change the item.  It seems better to trigger off button clicks. That's what the "Report 1 SHOW button" and "Report 1 HIDE button" DA are for.  If you look at them I think they are really easy to follow (Show button, Hide the other button, Set the Hide_Show filter, Refresh report)
When you break it down into individual steps and give meaningful names to your elements (items, regions, da, etc..) I think it all becomes a lot more maintainable.
I have definitely seen unmaintainable applications since I started with APEX way back on HTMLDB 1.6.  That said, they are mostly easy to maintain when things are well thought out and steps are broken down into easy understandable actions.
    Good luck!
    Thanks
    -Jorge
