Google Apps calendar sync is notifying me of everyone's meetings...

I have a Google Apps account that I have syncing contacts, IMAP, and the Calendar.
There are ~50 calendars or so that are being synced, and by this I mean they're ON in:
http://www.google.com/calendar/syncselect
...and I've unchecked them in the calendar's "top" "Manage" menu, aside from those I actually want to view.
Yet I get notified from my coworker's meetings ... continuously.  This is particularly irritating because the sync'ed account is not even an attendee in the meetings.
How do I get the notifications to go away?

  • Invite Email not being sent from iCal from a Google Apps calendar

    Hello,
I am running Mac OS X 10.6.5, iCal 4.0.4, and am attempting to do the following from a Google Apps calendar I have setup in iCal. Please note that it's not gmail, it's Google Apps. If that makes a difference. That being said...
I am trying to create a meeting invite from iCal. I am able to create the invite and add attendees with no problem. When I hit send (from iCal), the invitees do not receive an email notification of the event, but it does appear their calendar (both in iCal and via Google Calendar on the web). I need an email to be sent to the invitees that they have been invited to a meeting, not just to have it appear on their calendars.
When I create the meeting invite via Google Calendar on the Web the invitees do receive an email notification (as specified in their calendar preferences). The issue only happens when the meeting invite is created in iCal.
When an invitee accepts or declines a meeting via iCal I receive an acceptance or declining email. Just not when the meeting invite is sent.
Also, I am able to create a meeting on one of the "On My Computer" calendars in iCal, invite people, and a meeting invitation is sent as expected.
And again, the invitees have notification of meeting invites turned on in their calendar settings (as is shown by the fact that when the invite is sent out via Google Calendar on the Web they receive an email with the invite).
Thanks! Any assistance would be awesome.
    Aaron

That was actually my post on the Google forums
Here is what I have found so far (and hopefully some of my assumptions are correct, because we're making the full switch to Google Apps this weekend and I am assuming it will work after this). This is long, but I'm trying to be thorough. Also note that I have updated to 10.6.6 since the time I first posted my last message.
We are currently piloting Google Apps, so our primary domain (which I will refer to from now on as domain.com) still points to our old exchange servers. Mail is currently being delivered to our Google Apps pilot accounts the following way:
    1. User sends an email to [email protected]. This email is delivered to our old Exchange servers.
    2. Once the email is received on our old Exchange servers it gets forwarded to our Google Apps test domain (gtest.domain.com).
This seems to be an important piece of the puzzle as our primary domain (domain.com) shows up on the Google Apps for Admin dashboard as improperly setup (which is correct, because we're currently piloting)
So, in iCal I have my Google Apps account setup (I'm one of the pilot users) the following way. I added the Account as Google calendar in iCal, but once the account shows up it shows up as a CalDAV account.
    Under the account information tab:
    CalDAV
    Description: [email protected]
    User name: [email protected]
    Password: my password
Under the server settings tab (*NOTE: these were entered in automatically when I setup the calendar as a Google calendar)
    Server address: www.google.com
Server path: the path to my calendar.
    Use SSL is checked
Use Kerberos v5 is NOT checked
So, during my testing I was sending meeting invites from people who were in the Google Apps pilot to other people who were in the Google Apps pilot. When I was doing that, no invitations were getting sent.
I created a new email account on our exchange server ([email protected]) but did NOT set it up to be a part of the Google Apps pilot (this means that emails were not being forwarded from [email protected] to [email protected]). Doing this successfully delivered all invites, cancellations, and meeting updates from iCal!
From what I can tell there must be something going on (probably my own fault) when a calendar invite is sent from my Google Apps account, through our old Exchange system, and then back to our Google Account. My assumption is it has something to do with the fact that our MX records for domain.com currently point to our old exchange servers, and the MX records for gtest.domain.com point to the Google Apps servers. It may also have something to do with the SPF record which only allows emails from domain.com to be sent from our Exchange servers.
Those are just guesses though as I am not very knowledgeable in that area.
I hope this helps and I would love to hear about anyone else working on this issue.

  • Why am I getting an URL error when iCal tries to access my google apps calendar?

My previously synced and normal google calendar for work was syncing fine with OSX's native Calendar app. Then I updated to to Mavericks, now my Calendar app is showing a URL error when trying to access my work calendar.
Our company uses a google apps business account, so our domain isn't gmail.com - in fact our domain acutally uses .asia.
Any ideas on how I can solve this? I've tried to re-link the account numerours times.....

  • IPad Google Apps Blackberry sync

My iPad synchs my calender beatifully with my google apps calender and my blackberry. I can only seem to synch contacts with the iPad and Google apps, but not the Blackberry. Any suggestions???

I don't know much about Blackberry, but the only way would be get the Blackberry contacts on your computer.  If you are PC, you would need to transfer the contacts to either Google, Yahoo or Outlook.  Once you've transfered to one of those destinations, you can then sync them to your iPad via iTunes sync.

  • Cannot get my Google apps calendar to sync with OS 4.0

I have tried deleting and reinstalling the account twice, and restarting the iPhone. Gmail works fine, my Gmail contacts transfer over with no problem. The calendar, however, never shows up. Is there anything else I should try?
    Thanks,

how did you fix this? i have the same problem. thanks,

  • Google announces Calendar Sync on iPhone...a few questions

    http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?answer=138740
Google has announced today that you can now sync your calendar and contacts with the iPhone and it supports push.
I've been using MobileMe to sync my calendar and contacts and have been waiting for the day when I could sync my Google Calendar because of the fact I have so many subscribed calendars at work that I need access too.
For anyone that's done this syncing with Google yet, can you confirm the following:
    1. Will it allow you to do just calendar and not touch your contact data if you don't want it to?
    2. Will you be able to add reminders (alerts) that will work on the phone the same was as the iCal syncing works?

    Is this possible?
    Setup:
MacBook and MacBook Pro at home syncing iCal events (in four different calendars) and Address Book contacts with iPhone via Mobile Me. At work I forward Outlook appointments to Gmail, which puts them in a Google calendar, which the Macs at home pull into their iCal using CalDAV. Of course, that calendar does not sync to the iPhone. This setup circumvents the problem that the iPhone's Outlook Exchange syncing isn't supported at work.
    Question:
Is it possible to sync just one calendar in Google calendar with the iPhone? I don't want the four calendars that sync over Mobile Me to sync to Google Calendars as well. I suppose that work calendar, once synced with the iPhone, will find its way via Mobile Me to iCal on the Macs at home, so that I can then simply unsubcribe to the CalDAV feed.
    Thanks,
    Richard

  • ICal/Google/iTouch calendar sync in iCloud?

I have the Calendar on my iMac set to sync with online Google calendars, and it works well. I have it set to sync with my new iPod Touch. I'm trying to make use of iCloud to do all this, but without luck.  All calendars show on the iMac version, but iCloud doesn't pull over the data from iMac, seems only to show data I originally entered on iTouch. HELP!

  • Google - Oracle Calendar sync

Anyone successful in syncing Google and Oracle calendars?
I have personal events in one (because of clubs I am with) and company events in the other.
    I'm considering doing the following:
    Oracle => Palm
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/cs/user_info/ocalendar/sync_client_index.html
    Palm => Google
    http://www.goosync.com/UpgradeDetail.aspx
But have not tried it yet.
    Erik

The exporting and importing suggestion is really the only easy way to do it right now. If Oracle Calendar begins supporting caldav in a future version, you should be able to just subscribe to your corporate calendar caldav URL directly from Google Calendar.
If you are a developer, you could try to write a small program using the Calendar SDK to extract your agenda data into an iCal formatted file (at least I'm pretty sure it can do that). If you make the iCal formatted file web accessible, you can point Google Calendar to the URL and it will automatically download the agenda data into your calendar. You, of course, would want to automate the extraction of your corporate agenda to the file so you wouldn't have to remember to do it yourself.
I'm not a big user of Google Calendar so I'm basing this suggestion on some basic tests I tried. Also, automating this means you would have to have to include your account password in the program you write (somewhat okay if it is compiled but still a security risk). It also means you would have to update your program any time you changed your password.
Soo...if you are willing to do a little manual work and not have to write a program, just export the data into iCal format (.ics), copy it to a web accessible area, and set up Google Calendar to always look for it at that URL.

  • Google Apps Email Sync

Occasionally, I notice that my business email (Gmail) is not syncing on a regular basis to my device. When I do notice it, I find a workaround by sending an email to my hotmail account, and then it will release the emails that are in my inbox and sync them to my blackberry. This seems to be happening more frequently recently, and I'm concerned there may be a problem with my device and the bigger problem that I am missinig emails (some time sensitive). Any suggestions?

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account.  Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

  • Restored iPhone yet Goog Apps calendar will not sync!  Help please!  :s

    Hey there,
I have a user whose Google Apps calendar stopped syncing a number of weeks ago. I had tried to add it (via Exchange Activesync) and it would not appear or sync.
Yesterday I restored the phone in iTunes. Tried to add the calendar after the restore and got the same thing. It appears to successfully add it but no information appears.
As a test, I entered the wrong password to see if it was even connecting. I received the password prompt so I know there is communication between the phone and Goog servers.
Another user in the same Goog App domain has an iPhone and the very same day I re-added his calendar and it worked without issue.
I am at a brick wall here. Can anyone suggest what else I could possibly try? Does the iPhone restore truly wipe the phone or are there possibly corrupt OS files causing this?
Thanks so much in advance for any help!!!

Can anyone help here at all?? Does a restore truly erase anything in the background that would affect the calendar? Or is this not the right way to go about this?
Essentially I want to WIPE the phone. Can you do this with an iPhone? Every single other smartphone out there has the capability to wipe it in case of any problems with apps or settings. Does the iPhone?
I still have not gotten any answers to my original question. Any brilliant, kind souls out there to assist?

  • Can Lion Server replace Google Apps

    Hello,
Our business has just one imac, but we use it to manage the diaries of 15 staff. We have been using Google Apps (with our domain) to create 15 users and it has been handy to schedule diaries in this way.
I must now use Microsoft Office for Mac, everything works fine except that it does not sync with Google Apps calendars. At all! Forums say that it is pointless trying.
    So my question is.
    - can I ditch Google Apps
    - turn my imac into a 'lion server' (I have already purchased the app)
    - set up 15 user accounts
    - then sync these accounts with Outlook for Mac?
If anyone can possibly advice and point me in the right direction for step-by-step instructions, then that would be fantastic.
Otherwise, are there any other altneratives???

Problem solved.  I had smpt and not SMTP.  Fat finger problem.

  • Meeting invites not received on Blackberry device on Airtel using Google Apps

Greetings. This seems to be an ongoing problem but I could not find a specific thread to what I am facing, and hence creating a new thread.
Over the last two weeks, a lot of users in our office have suddenly stopped received meeting invites / notices. Most of them are using a variety of Blackberry devices almost all Curves 8520, 9230, 9360. We use Google Apps for our mail, calendaring and others.
Meeting Notices are not coming to some of the BB devices. When a meeting is created by an organiser (say me for example) and I invite two or three co-workers, the meeting notice e-mail is delivered and sits in their Google Apps GMail hosted mailbox, but it does not download to their BB. All other mail messages are delivered normally.
On those receipients facing this problem, I experimented with their settings in Calendar of Äutomatically add invitations to my calendar" to Yes and Yes, but don't send event reminders unless I have responded.
I have even deleted the account, re-added, and downloaded service books.
The wireless sync between Google Apps Calendar and the BB devices is working fine.
Can someone please help solve this problem and oblige.
    Thanks in advance

I Fixed mine..  This is how
    1.  Contact Blackberry Tech support and mention tis article

  • Calendar on MacBook Pro using Mavericks 10.9 will not sync with Google Apps for Business

Ever since the Mavericks upgrade, I have had problems syncing my MacBook Pro Calendar with my Google Apps for Business Accopunt.  When Mavericks first came out, I could do a work-around and set up a second CalDev account and that worked for a while.  But with the most recent update to Mavericks, in part apparently to solve Google integration issies, the Calendar app will not sync either through the mail account setup in System pref, or by setting up a separate CalDev account.  I have no functioning Calendar on my MacBook, thogh the CalDev account option works fine on my iPhone and iPad, and of course all work on the PC with Google Apps Sync.
Appreciate any advice, or better appreciate if Apple were to get this right ASAP.

Thank you for your answer, unfortunately that is not the solution. I found the plug-in where it was already properly installed in the Root Level Library>Internet Plug-ins Folder.  It was NOT to be found in the [User Name]>Library>Internet Plug-Ins Folder, so I copied it there from the Root Level Folder, Rebooted, deleted all cookies, signed in to Netflix, and I still get the same:
    Thanks for installing
Once installation is complete please restart your browser to watch this movie.
So, I tried a complete re-install of Mavericks OSX 10.9, from scratch. I checked all Internet Plug-In Folders and the latest version Silverlight Plug-in is in all of them. Still, I get the same:
    Thanks for installing
Once installation is complete please restart your browser to watch this movie.
    Any other Suggestions?

  • Calendar sync broken for Google Apps accounts

The Calendar no longer syncs with my Google Apps account; not in either direction.  It pops up the sync notification and reports success, but nothing changes.  I tried removing and adding the account.  This actually broke in 1.2.1, but by the time I noticed, I assumed a fix was around the corner.  1.3.1 didn't help.  I even created a brand new test account using the newly enhanced support for Google Apps.  Mail and contacts work fine, but the calendar won't budge.  Palm, I can give you the test account to play with if you'd like.
My standard Gmail account calendar syncs just fine.  Saw the troubleshooting for standard account calendars and tried playing with the invitation options in my Apps account to no avail.
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

#1 is good already.  I tried changing the other differences: Default View was month, Location had my zip code, Automatically Add Invitations was set to Yes.
#2 using network settings correctly had me in Central, but it said Regina, Canada.  Changed it to Chicago and rebooted, but I'm still not syncing either way on my account nor the test account.
Here's the really odd thing.  My Pre has all four of your entires on the test account from the 3rd and 4th.  I just tried creating entries for the test account from both my Pre and desktop, and I'm not seeing any syncing.  I've forced it about five times over the past 20 minutes.
Sounds like we're down to it either being homebrew's fault or something stuck in my launch day profile that would survive a wipe.  I wiped my phone under 1.3.1 to undo a lot of homebrew cruft, but I still can't say I ever tested this in a virgin state.  Enh.  Go ahead and close the ticket.  My workaround is fine with me.  Feel free to keep using the test account for other stuff if you want.

  • Downloaded (free) CalenMob app to sync to google calendar, and it only shows my calendar entries but not the entries of my coworkers I share the calendar with. How do I sync to google calendar so I can see the entries of people I share my calendar with?

I downloaded the free CalenMob app to sync phone with shared google calednar at work, but I can only see the calendar entries of some of my coworkers but not all - even though all of our calendars are shared.  Is CalenMob the best app to use for syncing to google calendar? Do I need to enter the coworkers' gmail account info onto my phone in order for their calendar entries to show up on my phone calendar?

Only when i go to a different browser (like IE) after i clear it , then all that shows up is the pages i visited in IE , that is what bugs me , why is IE browsing history sowing up in Firefox ??
Basically , i can clear the history in Firefox , and then for a example , go to Craigslist , using IE7 (launching it from a complete different Icon , in other words at that time i never open Firefox) , then after closing out , or even leaving open as it does not seem to matter , i go into Firefox , and hit History , and there is every place i visited in IE7 , on my History in Firefox
