GRANT ACCESS with sys user
hi
i have an user with objects, tables, views and procedures but it doesn't´t have dba privileges... how can i grant access to all the user to these objects? (with the sys or system user).
thanks for your help.
alex
Hello,
Every user in database has its objects and DBA privileges are not for everyone.
how can i grant access to all the user to these objects? (with the sys or system user)<<<<<<Can explain these lines ?? What's your requirment ?? Please state clearly...
As far as i got your problem, you require that all other users of databse should be able to access the objects of user (lets say A) which you specified in first line.
For this purpose create public synonyms for all objects of user A and grant. So, everyone can use the objects of "A's" schema.
Please update..... if you got the point or not...

Anonymous access with named users
Hi!
I am trying to set up anonymous access with named users on EP6 SP9. I am using Database only as UME Data storage. I have applied the note #728106, since most of the content is html-pages on the KM.
I defined the UME settings ume.login.guest_user.uniqueids=anon01,anon02
ume.login.anonymous_user.mode=1
Restarted the server and attached user account into roles (which contain only anonymous content).
I then accessed the page /irj/portal/anonymous (or the longer version /irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.portal.navigation.portallauncher.anonymous) and everything was fine. However I wasn't able to get the portal working with /irj/portal/anonymous?j_user=anon02. I always received Portal runtime error. From the logs I saw that the portal tried to access as user anon01.
When I changed the UME settings into
ume.login.guest_user.uniqueids=anon02,anon01
I was able to get the anon02 user account working, but not /irj/portal/anonymous?j_user=anon01. From the logs I saw that the portal tried to access as user anon02.
Both user account are using the same rule, portal desktop and framework page. I can see the correct (and different) TLN for each user only in the content are I see this error.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
PetriI need to switch between two named anonymous users.
It works fine using http://<server>:<port>/irj/portal?j_user=<first_Guest_user>&j_password=<pwd_of_first_Guest_user>&login_submit=true
Then to switch to the other user I must do a log-off or close the browser and input the other url http://<server>:<port>/irj/portal?j_user=<second_Guest_user>&j_password=<pwd_of_second_Guest_user>&login_submit=true
I developed a servlet to switch the users using IAuthentication (method forceLogoffUser) and then redirect to the respective url. But when I call forceLogoffUser method I get a login screen and the script stop executing. Passing 'returnURL' parameter did not work.
Parameters:
req - HttpServletRequest
resp - HttpServletResponse
returnURL - url to use to logon again.
Is there a way to switch automaticaly between the two named anonymous users? -
Fail to logon with SYS user: ORA-01031: insufficient privileges
Hello,
Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - Production
PL/SQL Release 11.2.0.1.0 - Production
CORE 11.2.0.1.0 Production
TNS for Linux: Version 11.2.0.1.0 - Production
NLSRTL Version 11.2.0.1.0 - Production
OS: CentOS 5.5
I fail to log on with SYS user through PL/SQL Developer. I receive the error: ORA-01031: insufficient privileges. PL/SQL Developer is installed on Windows 7 Professional. Oracle Client Version is 11.2.0.1.0. However I logon successfully with SYSMAN and SYSTEM.
For those who might ask whether I try to connect "as sysdba" when I use SYS user, the answer is YES, I do.
Besides I think the name of the tool (PL/SQL Developer) doesn't matter because I think I'll face the same error with any other tool (but I mentioned it just in case).
On server side I have no issues with SYS user. I can connect through SQLPlus with connect / as sysdba or connect "/as sysdba" faultlessly.
The initialization parameter sec_case_sensitive_logon is set to FALSE
SQL> show parameter sensi
NAME TYPE VALUE
sec_case_sensitive_logon boolean FALSE
I'm using local naming to connect and on client side I've a tnanames.ora file. The sqlnet.ora file looks like this:
SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES= (NTS)
NAMES.DIRECTORY_PATH= (TNSNAMES, EZCONNECT)I read in this forum (another thread) about using a password file. I created a password file using orapwd this way:
orapwd file=orapwDB11G2 entries=100 ignorecase=y password=a_passwordwhere I replaced "a_password" with the SYS password.
Actually I'm not sure the client is influenced by the password file anyway because I tell it to use local naming.
Any clues?
Thank you very much!Verdi wrote:

I start up the instance using the spfile.As a side observation, it appears you have two control files also in this directory. That is risky, and goes against the intent of having multiplexed the control file. Ideally they would be on separate disk devices - including separate controllers, but at the very least they should be in directories that are separate all the way back to the root directory. If you can't protect against hardware failure, at least protect against human failure. -

Grant access to SYS.V$TEMP_SPACE_HEADER view - how to?
Hi,
I created a user. I am trying to give select access on some of the System tables and views to this user to retrieve some information about the database.
When I try
grant select on sys.v$temp_space_header to usr1;
I am getting the following error
grant select on sys.v$temp_space_header to usr1
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-02030: can only select from fixed tables/views
I am getting the same error when I try to give select access to SYS.V$TEMPSTAT view also.
Does anyone know why this error is coming? Please let me know how I can grant select access to the user for these views.Hi,
This two views are synonyms.

I have created a database as 'system' and try to give access for other users. I created a new user with 'create user identified by passwd' and made 'grant connect to user' and 'grant select, insert, update to table'.
But after that the new user can't select the tables, error is 942, Table or view not found. Same in sqlplus as with jdbc.Shouldn't you type:
GRANT select, insert, update to 'user'
instead of to table like you did. -
Grant Access on .sys owned objects...?
For example purposes, say I need to grant 'Select' to DBA_Users to a role, how is this possible? I'm looking to grant this explicitly and not thru select any dictionary.
Do I need to run the grant statement from the SYS ID? As I have the grant any priv and any obj priv, it seems that will not suffice....
Thanks!One way to do this is to create a stored procedure owned by a privileged user which has the right to grant the needed privilege. You only need to grant EXECUTE privilege on this procedure to the admin team.
In this example, owner is OPS$ORACLE and admin. user is NEW.
The procedure should make some additional checks according to your security rules.
SQL> show user
USER is "SYS"
SQL> grant select on dba_users to ops$oracle with grant option;
Grant succeeded.
SQL> connect /
Connected.
SQL> show user
USER is "OPS$ORACLE"
SQL> create or replace procedure gs (guser in varchar2)
2 as
3 begin
4 execute immediate 'grant select on sys.dba_users to ' || guser;
5 end;
6 /
Procedure created.
SQL> show errors
No errors.
SQL>
SQL> drop user new;
User dropped.
SQL> drop user old;
User dropped.
SQL> create user old identified by old;
User created.
SQL> grant connect to old;
Grant succeeded.
SQL> create user new identified by new;
User created.
SQL> grant connect to new;
Grant succeeded.
SQL> grant execute on gs to new;
Grant succeeded.
SQL>
SQL> connect new/new
Connected.
SQL> exec ops$oracle.gs('OLD');
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
SQL>
SQL> connect old/old
Connected.
SQL> select count(*) from dba_users;
COUNT(*)

Callback function is called with sys user context.
1. Create AQ Queue table
2. Create AQ Queue "MyQueue"
3. Start Queue "MyQueue"
4. Register "Subscriber1"
5. Register "MyQueue"."Subscriber1" with Notification URL : PLSQL:\\Mypackage.SP_Callback
Till here everything is fine...
6. Enqueue message into "MyQueue" with "Subscriber1" as recipient.
7. Now AQ notification is fired and as a result Its calling "Mypackage.SP_Callback".
Here the problem is "Mypackage.SP_Callback" is called from SYS user context. i.e if i capture the dbuser its "SYS" who is invoking the AQ notification call back method, "Mypackage.SP_Callback".
Do i have any settings so that "Mypackage.SP_Callback" is called with a specific user account instead of "SYS".
Please help me...

From what is mentioned in this thread this issue is the same as that discussed in Note 552771.1. The issue should be resolved in 10.2.0.4 and 11.1.0.6 onwards.

Console access with other user
hi,
I have installed SunOne directory server and able to access it with SunOne server console as directory manager. I want to give read only access to one another user say user1 who could use the console and see the contents (tree structure and it's attribute) of the directory server.
I tried it by creating one new user (user1) and set ACI for him but when i am trying to login into directory server through the console, it is able to login but not able to see the tree structure of the directory server.
Can anyone tell me where i am wrong and what is the right way to do it? or if the user other than directory manager is not able to use console? though i am able to see the tree structure when i first login with directry manager and then i switch to the new user.
thx in advance.
ASNGreat ! Do you have it working with WLS 8.1 SP4 ?

Grant access to users from different Domains
Hi,
Recently my company was merged with another. All users from my company are setup in our Domain (DomainA). Sharepoint is able to see the users in this domain and grant access to the users as well. When the merger happened, we created a Group (Test - Sharepoint)
in our AD to add groups from other companie's domain:DomainB, totally different Forest. There is a two way trust setup between these domains. The group Test-Sharepoint is "domain local" and it is able to see the groups/users from other domain: DomainB.
The other users are now able to access our sharepoint environment once access is granted to DomainA\Test-Sharepoint.
Problem came when we applied Audience targetting around few web parts. The users from DomainB who are added as object in DomainA\Test-Sharepoint (group in DomainA) are not able to see the web parts that have audience targeting for this group. Someone
suggested that AD groups should be Global or Universal but that is not our case. Most of the groups in our AD are domain local and SP is able to see the users within it.
Please suggest how we can resolve audience targeting issue?
Regards, Kapil ***Please mark answer as Helpful or Answered after consideration***My apologies, yes that is correct you'll have to use Domain Local in this case. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc755692(v=WS.10).aspx
Actually what you'll need to do is not use Groups in your domain at all, as the users are Foreign Security Principals. Instead, use a group in the trusted domain, or attributes of the users you intend to target directly.

Connect DB - SYS user with wrong password
Hi All,
A strange thing I have noticed with SYS user since Oracle 9i(never worked on earlier versions) is that I can connect to the SYS user as SYSDBA with wrong password as well! Please guide how to prevent this...
(I have searched for a solution online but was unable to find any :( )
SQL> CONN SYS/AAA@TEST AS SYSDBA
Connected.
SQL> DISC
Disconnected from Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - Production
With the Partitioning, OLAP, Data Mining and Real Application Testing options
SQL> CONN SYS/BBB@TEST AS SYSDBA
Connected.
SQL>
SQL> DISC
Disconnected from Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - Production*009*There is nothing wrong and nothing should be, IMO, prevented.
When you log in to the server as an user in the dba group (Unix) or the ora_dba group (Windows), you are a power user and O/S authentication applies to you, and you don't need a password.
Logging in as owner of the software (oracle) all the time, what many DBAs do, is a bad idea anyway, as you can remove anyufile on O/S level.
Strategies to prevent this:
- make sure your account isn't in the groups I mentioned
or
- disable O/S authentication by editiing sqlnet.ora
Both procedures are documented.
Finally please note anyone who has root access can get around this easily.

How can I grant Application access to a user via API ) programattically
how do I grant access to a portal user from API
I want to grant access to a user from an API, ie I need a
command to grant "SCOTT" access to "EXAMPLE_APP" APPLICATION as
an end user?Hi,
I am assuming that you have already updated the EUL in the Administrator Edition, correct? If not, open Discoverer Administrator and login to the database you want to connect to. You must use your EUL user name which I assume has already been created and assigned the correct privileges in the database. You will be asked to update your EUL. Follow the prompts.
Once logged into the EUL, go to Tools \ Privileges and find the user that you want to give administrator access to.
Hopefully, this answers your question.

Access of oracle database through sys user
Hi All,
Can any one suggest me what are the possibility to access database through SYS user...I install oracle database 10.2.0.4 on Win-2003 SE.
Now I want to make restrict that no one can be able to logged in database as a sys user so I do one thing that in sqlnet.ora file at server side make none in sql authentication line. What are the other possible way that user can access through sys user?
Please suggest me...
Thanks...user505 wrote:

What are the other possible way that user can access through sys user?One other possibility can be to come from the remote system as the Sys user. So you can set remote_loginpasswordfile to shared. This will ensure that without knowing the password, person won't be able to connect.
That said, there is no stopping for the person who would be knowing the credentials of your o/s or sys user.

Multiple Access Levels per User
In a site I'm building, I need the ability to allow an administrator to intuitively assign different access levels to different users. There may ultimately be roughly 25 different pages to which a user may be granted access. One user may have access to section/page levels 1, 4, 5, 7 and 21. Another user may get access to 2, 3, 4, 17, 19 and 24, etc. While this is possible under the existing ADDT user login system by creating a separate access value that includes only the permissible pages (access level 1 could get to page 1, 4, 5, 7 and 21; access level 2 could only get to pages 2, 3, 4, 17, 19 and 24) it becomes impractical for the administrator since the developer (me) would have to come up with an access value and corresponding permissible pages for every possible combination. Every time a new combination was needed, my client would have to contact me to add that access integer and modify all the corresponding sections/pages that the user could access.
The ideal solution IMHO in this scenario would be for the administrator to simply be able to select or deselect a checkbox at will for each page to which the user is granted access (this is actually the scenario to which another of my feature request post refers:
http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b75119
In searching the old InterAKT forums, I came across a post in which this exact scenario was requested. The user and Ionut came up with a solution which I was able to modify to enable the system I describe above. Rather than repeating the solution, here is a link to that post:
