Grant accounts access to other accounts' calendars only -using OWA

I have not been able to find a way to grant an account access to another accounts calendar -Only, when they only use OWA.  I have read this is a limitation and is by MS design but I have also read that other users have had success doing this. 
I have tried many of the solutions I found online using PS to assign read access to Top of Info Store and editor or reviewer to the calendar specificially but this fails.
I have tried using some published assistance 
http://exchangeserverpro.com/grant-read-access-exchange-mailbox/ for example, but I can't get the logic to apply to the MB. 
Has anyone had any success allowing shared calendar access in OWA 2007 without assigning Full MB Access -and would be willing to share their success?

According to your description, you want grant read permission not full access permission to make calendar visible for others.
If yes, we can use PFDAVAdmin to grant Calendar Reviewer permisson.

    You'll want to get in touch with ITunes support for this. Normally when you start an account with the CC you can't remove it yourself. But by contacting iTunes they can get that taken off for you.

  • T42p + Access IBM - my mouse fails-only use TAB and arrows? XP desktop

    Suppose to be like day one here, my Thinkpad T42p but when I press the BLUE button or the Access IBM Icon
     my mouse fails-I can only use TAB and arrows and I am NOT in the post bios, I am in the XP desktop.
    I uninstalled and reinstalled it, but no help, same with USB mouse, same with touchpad and same with the red
    pointer button mouse.I was almost SURE that the other Thinkpads, same models, would have mouse ability.
    How do I fix this mess? What happened ? Help !! Have you tried to use that tool with no mouse ? Aggggggh !

    Download a Parted Magic CD ISO-file and burn it on a CD-ROM.
    Boot from CD-ROM and run the partition tool.
    Left-click the 1st Partition, select "Manage flags" and mark "boot".
    Reboot the computer after removing the CD-ROM. 
    To remove the drivers and tools use "Start"- "Programs " - "Access IBM" - "Program for installing/removal of ThinkPad-Software" (or similar - i only know the german terms). - Later Thinkpads used the "Software Installer"
    At the beginning of this year i had set up one of my R51 with the recovery CDs and ran all Windows Updates. - Everything worked fine then.
    Just for fun and to learn the effects concerning the system stability, i installed Thinkvantage System Update and updated all drivers and Tools. Some updates didn't work.
    Result:
    - lower performance
    - wireless didn't work anymore
    - sometimes a blue screen running R&R
    After that i recoverd the R51 again and removed all Access IBM tools and drivers with the "Program for installing/removal of ThinkPad-Software". Running TVSU then lead to a better result but not very satisfying.
    The differences of the old driver and tools - versions to the newest is too big. A lot of registry entries and many files will be kept after removing the old drivers and Access IBM -  tools.
    The best result you will get using one of the following ways:
    recover from CD/R&R-partition and keep all TVT drivers and tools
    do a clean install from a Windows CD and install drivers and software after running all Windows Updates (only 1 GBit ethernet or wireless Lan- driver installed) and then use System Update or manual install

    I'm trying to set up some daily meetings i attend at work that only occur on a week days and not at the weekend.
    On my previous Nokia phone it had an option to select which reoccurring days you chose however i can't seem to do it on my new E72.

    Interesting. Which previous Nokia phone ? I believe you can do that with alarms but not with calendar entries.

    Very frustrated now that I have recently installed itunes and outlook on this new computer.  Everything worked perfectly ok on my laptop which was also 64-bit Windows 7 and running 32-bit Microsoft Office 2010 Pro.  I have multiple email accounts set up in Outlook tho only use contacts and calendar in relation to one of these. Cannot sync itunes with the correct contacts and calendars, when I sync the calendar and contacts are empty.  Not sure if there is any way to point itunes to particular address books and calendars.
    I have installed and uninstalled itunes 3 times and thank goodness have a backup

    I had my home computer set up to sync to work's Exchange server. It worked well, but I didn't like seeing work email messages and other programs trying to sync with my default Outlook folder, which was then the Exchange (& work related) .ost file. I know there are various ways to manage those problems using filters, view, subfolders, etc., but it was a hassle for me. I think it could work well for many other folks.
    For now, I have published my work calendar and subscribed to that calendar on my home computer. So I have view only access to my calendar on my home computer (and I can add/edit calendar items on my iPad (or Outlook Web Access) when away from work). This is not quite what I wanted, but it may work.
    It almost makes me long for the days when I used my Windows Mobile Treo to sync back and forth between exchange at work and outlook at home (but had many sync conflicts as a result).

    This is complex.  Until today we had one iMac with two user accounts - one for me and the other for my wife.  We sync'd our calendars and contacts between our two user accounts using my iCloud account, thereby keeping our schedules coordinated and our contacts information always the same between us.  Also, as I had an iPhone, I sync'd my phone with my iCloud account, thereby keeping the contacts and calendars in the two user accounts on the iMac AND my iPhone sync'd.  (I also sync'd other things, like Notes and Mail and Safari settings, between my iPhone and my user account on the iMac, but my wife did not want to be burdened with all my emails showing up in her email account and I wasn't interested in hers, etc., so we didn't sync anything between us other than calendars and contacts.)
    We've finally bought my wife an iPhone and set up an iCloud account for her.  And of course she now wants to sync several items from HER account on our iMac to HER iPhone, but I don't want them, just as she doesn't want all of my other stuff.  But we still want our mutual calendars and contacts to sync to HER new iPhone, just like they already do to mine.  But I can't figure out how to CHANGE her iMac user account from using MY iCloud account on the iMac to using HER new iCloud account, and then having HER iCloud account speak to MY iCloud account but share JUST our calendars and contacts.
    Originally I tried a workaround by simply having her iPhone log into my iCloud account.  That works great for the calendars and the contacts.  But...she can't sync anything else from her iMac account to her new iPhone because she's presently "forced" to use my iCloud account.  And neither of us want to sync our other things to each other's iMac accounts or iPhones.  Also as we're both using my iCloud account, in things like the Find My iPhone app, the Cloud is seeking two phones labeled with my name and none with her's.  So we definitely don't want this as the set-up and communications network between our devices.
    We want to set up our users on the iMac to sync to our SEPARATE AND DIFFERENT iCloud accounts and then have those iCloud accounts sync calendars and contacts (ONLY) between themselves, and then push that data to our separate iPhones (or the other way, from either of our iPhones to the individual accounts on our iMac and the other person's iPhone).  Does this description make sense to you?  I've diagramed it nicely using Keynote, but even thiough I can draw it, I can't figure out how to set up and configure all the devices to make it work.  If you would like me to send the Keynote slides (just two of them - the current and desired configurations - please send your email address to me at [email protected] and I'll be happy to forward it to you.

    I had the same problem, and decided to look into it last night.
    First of all, the solution I would like to have is for Apple to allow for selection of iCloud accounts per application, i.e. Contacts to one, Photo Stream to another. I believe this would be the most straight forward solution for the problem we are facing. 
    Since this is not an option I came up with a workaround. I was most interested in solving this for Contacts, so this is what I tested for. Now I have all 3 devices with the same contacts.
    1) Turn off iCloud for Contacts on all devices. On the device that has the Contacts list that you would like to propagate to all others select to keep the contacts, and on the others select not to keep them.
       Note that the current backups still exist on iCloud, so in case something goes wrong you can still turn the iCloud for Contacts back on to get your current Contacts back.
    2) In iTunes, sync All Contacts with the phones, starting with the one with the Contacts content you chose to keep.
    From this point on, the 3 devices should sync contacts with each other.
    This, of course, will stop your iCloud backups of Contacts, but I don't think this is really needed. You are already storing copies of your Conacts on 3 devices, which for good parts of the day are likely not all co-located. You also potentially have Time Machine backups turned on, which would mean there is a 4th copy there as well. For the case of Contacts iCloud only complicates matter ... that is until Apple implements the solution I first wrote about.

There is no place from which to authorize this new computer or to deauthorize the 1 computer that is dead rather than both. Suggestions appreciated

    To authorize the Windows 8 computer, press the Alt and S keys and choose Authorize this Computer, or click here, follow the instructions, click on Store in the menu bar, and choose Authorize this Computer.
    It isn't possible to individually deauthorize a computer which is dead or which you don't have either physical or network access to.

  • Unexpected Access to Other Users' Accounts

    I just discovered tonight that I when I search for files, files in other user's accounts on this computer show up. I can open them too, but throwing them away requires that user's password. Searching the internet to see if this is a normal feature, I find questions about how to access other user's files and comments that even administrators cannot do this. Is this normal or abnormal behavior? Fast user switching is not enabled. Does anyone know where solid information can be found about the "barriers" between users' accounts? Thanks.

    Ah, thanks, BDAqua. I see that at the user level, each user folder is set to read only. So if the users aren't saving their files in their enclosed "no access" folders, but at their base user level, they are read only. If we set each user folder to "no access", then others would not be able to access the shared folder either. Is there a way to set access priviledges for users on this computer so that they're the same for users on this network? Users on the network only see the "drop box" when they open a user folder.

    I have 3 accounts on my Powerbook. Mine (the administrator), my partner's and our boy's.
    The thing I don't get is that when I went to 'Users' earlier to access something from my partner's account I only had access to 'Public' and 'Sites' and not 'Desktop', 'Music', 'Movies' etc...
    My access to our boy's account seems unlimited.
    Thing is, when my partner is logged in, she is able to access ALL of my account - even though I am the administrator. Same with our boy's account - he has full access to all my files!
    Any suggestions? It seems ludicrous that others can access the administrator's account but the administrator can't access other people's accounts.

    Sounds like the permissions have been changed - for example, access allowed for the admin or an old user's group. Normally, a user (even an administrator) does not have access to another user's files. You don't go into another account to get files, that is what the Shared and Public folders and drop boxes are for:
    The /Users/Shared folder is used to share files between all users (it has read/write access by others), and a user's Public folder is for (read only) files that the user wants to share with others. The drop box in a user's Public folder is to pass files to that particular user.
    Check the permissions of various user folders - normally they are:
    The /Users folder is owned by the system, with read/write access for the admin group and read only for others.
    A user's home folder has read/write permissions for the owner, and read only for their group and others (read only is to allow access to their Public and Sites folder).
    The Public and Sites folder in a user's home folder has read/write permissions for the owner, and read only for their group and others.
    All other folders in a user's home folder have read/write permissions for the owner, and no access for group or others. Note that if folders or files are added to the root level of a user's home folder, the permissions should be changed to no access by group or others, otherwise they can be read by others (folders inherit the same permissions of the user's home folder).

I know how to create a user account, but what I want to know is if there is more than one user account on the computer, will they have access to their own folders only or will they have access to everyones folders?     Select the folder, Get Info. Unlock the padlock at the bottom.
    Add the user by clicking the Add button. Give them Read and Write access.
    Click on the group entry (perhaps staff) and set it to no access.
    Click on everyone and set it to no access (or use write only dropbox to allow others to drop files in).
    Select the user and select Make (user) the owner from the Gear menu.
    Remove yourself from the list.
    Or, in Terminalchmod 700 /Volumes/ExternalDiskName/userFolderName
    chown username /Volumes/ExternalDiskName/userFolderNameChange the path to the folder. For an easy way to get the folder name there, type the command, leave a space, and drag the folder to the Terminal window. It will fill in the full path.
    For both methods, the order of operations is important. If you change the owner first, you won't be able to do the mode change unless you put sudo in front of the command.
