Graphserver - ChartThreadPool obiee11

Hi everyone
At a customer site in obiee11, we get on a regular basis error messages on graphs. In the dashboard you'll see this message:
Graph server does not appear to be responding in a timely fashion. It may be under heavy load or unavailable.
Error Details
Error Codes: U7MC9MIE
Location: saw.views.dashboard, saw.httpserver.processrequest, saw.rpc.server.responder, saw.rpc.server, saw.rpc.server.handleConnection, saw.rpc.server.dispatch, saw.threadpool, saw.threadpool, saw.threads
In the logfile this message appears
ThreadPool<ChartThreadPool>. Thread count: running 0, maximum 1, idle 0, jobs pending 1. No available threads, creating new thread for job. Approaching configured maximum for total number of threads.
In obiee10 there was a setting in the instanceconfig.xml about the ChartThreadPool:

</ThreadPoolDefaults>
We tried to put this in the instanceconfig of obiee11 in the serverinstance section but after that the presentation server wouldn't startup anymore.
Does anyone know the solution to this? How to set the number of threads of the ChartThreadPool or any other solution to the problem?

Have to checked to make sure you can connect to the servers IP (ping) and also if there is no firewall blocking the ports?

Chart view is not working in obiee11.1.1.5.0

Physical query (performance)problem in obiee11.1.1.6.8

Hi all,
i have built same Logical model for sql server database and Oracle database.i have performance issue in sql server where as it not showing the filter in physical query(nqs query log) hitting the DB of SQL server( so its taking more time to respond) but same model i m using for oracle Db its passing the physical query with filter to oracle DB (it is not taking more time )to respond in obiee11.1.1.6.8

How to find message key to OBIEE11

We´d like to customize a couple of OBIEE11 msgs - I know where are the files, etc... OTH there are several msgs per file... so if I need to change a specific message.. it should be in some of the files...The issue is how to find it ? Is there a simple way ? other than opening each file...

Go to My Oracle Support ---> Patches and Updates --->Product or Family (Advanced)--->and select
product as "Oracle BI Suite EE" then your OS then, select Release as "OBI EE 11.1.1.6.0" then serch it, then it will filter and give your obiee11.1.1.6 BP6 just download it and apply it.
For the JDeveloper(13952743) is not included with obiee family so u need to download seprately ..(just download obiee11
Note: last week thursday latest obiee11.1.1.6.6 Bundle Patch is release so just download this apply it. the obiee
11.1.1.6.6 Patchset will included (Obiee 11.1.1.6.0, 11.1.1.6.1, 11.1.1.6.2, 11.1.1.6.2 BP1, 11.1.1.6.4, and 11.1.1.6.5)

This note says to edit the oraparam.ini file increasing the JRE_MEMORY_OPTIONS
I tried to edit the oui\oraparam.ini file while a simple install was in flight on step 12 of 14 but the same error was raised at the same place in the next step 13 of 14 - Create ASInstance.
Deleting the OBI Home directory and dropping / recreating the Repository (RCU) takes a lot of time and requires a reboot between each iteration.
I came up with this script to drop the repository and prep the database for reinstall via RCU:

drop tablespace DEV_BIPLATFORM including contents and datafiles;
drop tablespace DEV_IAS_TEMP including contents and datafiles;

The install guide says a "software only" option installs software binary files in an existing Middleware home for later configuration and is for when you have a Middleware Home already (for example from a SOA install) I don't have an existing Middleware install and am not sure what I would need to install first. The installer explains "An Application Server must already be installed"
What would I need to install before running the OBIEE installer?

Obiee11.1.1.5.0(Software Only Install) windows 7 64bit Installation Error

I have installed obiee11.1.1.5.0 on windows 7 OS with 64bit,while instalation i got below attached error..after that can't able to see sample dashboard on dahsboard page but all services are up only
also i can able to login RPD in online mode,as well as Presntaion,weblogic EM,Console..
1) 1st i have installed JDK
C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_27 and,Environmental path setted,Lookback adaptor installed,
2) SQL server 2008 installed ,RCU script are executed and RCU installed
3) weblogic server10.3.50.0 installed
4)obiee11.1.1.5.0 installed with "Software only install" option
5) then C:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_BI1\bin\config.bat (OBIEE confuration steps) installed that last step only i got below kind of error

Upload modified Webcat file in OBIEE11.1.1.6.7

I am using OBIEE11.1.1.6.7 in Windows platform. I have successfully migrated the RPD & Webcat from 10g to 11g into both development and test environment. Both of them are working fine.
During CAT, users have created few report/segments in test environment and they want to upload the latest Webcat in development environment rather than migrate them using catalog manager.
I have copied the Webcat from Test into Dev environment --> Then using Fusion Middleware --> Lock and Edit --> Changed the Webcat path --> Apply --> Activate changes --> Restart. But this is giving the following error:

The Webcat is modified on 11g version in test environment and we want to upload it development environment which is again in OBIEE11g.
Is there something I am missing while uploading the Webcat using Fusion MIddleware ?
I have just copied the modified Webcat from test box into development box at: F:\BIHOME\instances\instance1\bifoundation\OracleBIPresentationServicesComponent\coreapplication_obips1\catalog\siebelanalytics_cat_22JULY2013
And then changed the path in Fusion Middleware and restarted the services.

Unable to acces the analytics after upgrading to OBIEE11.1.1.6.4

I've updated to OBIEE11.1.1.6.4 from 11.1.1.6.0. I have also applied the 13952743 JDeveloper patch. So Far, So Good but when I try to start BIServer, the server has started, however I cannot log in to the analytics. There are also some errors in logs as follow:

Do these steps
1. Edit the NQSConfig.INI file to reset the FMW_UPDATE_ROLE_AND_USER_REF_GUIDS = YES to NO and restart the Oracle BI Servers.
2. Remove, set to none, or comment out the line (see UpgradeAndExit in the following example) added to the instanceconfig.xml file (that instructs Oracle BI Presentation Server to refresh GUIDs on restart).

Download OBIEE11.1.1.6 plus with Hyperion IR included

I have try to download OBIEE11.1.1.6 plus. I can access the the introduction page.

when I click download, it give me the OBIEE instead of OBIEE plus.
questions
1. is OBIEE11.1.1.6 plus a package software? what's the trick?
2. if it is not, what version of IR I need to download in order to deploy into the weblogic fusion middleware? is there any document for this?

The version is 11.1.2.x
I have worked around the problem now. My main query originally only requested a computed item from the derived query. In my derived query the computed item being requested was a hard coded number, no actual column involved. In my main query I added an additional request from the derived query, an actual column, and it worked. IR recognized the derived query and included it in the sql generation.
It's a bit odd that it wouldn't let me just request the computed item but maybe someone else has a better explanation of it. My SQL would run fine in sql developer so I think its just an interactive reporting program nuance.
