GRC Form Rules Event Tracker Not Capturing Button

Hello,
I have a form rule for the Projects form (PAXPREPR) that I need to fire when a button is pressed. I have set the event tracker, navigating to the form and pressed the button. I then modified a field and saved the record. When I go back to finish creating the rule, When Button Pressed is not an option and the button is not available inthe field name. I entered the button name and it did not give an error, but the rule did not fire when I press the button. Is there another way to trigger a rule on a button?

Jo,
Are you trying to run a rule when saving? If so you want to use the action: When Validate Record
Have a look at the PCG user guide on page 2-5 for events that you can typically use. Also going forward you should use the following forum for GRC products: Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) (MOSC)

Hi,
I am trying to call GRC Approval Group; whenver Approve Button is clicked in the Move Order Form. But I am not sure how to prevent the standard Oracle flow/code attached to the button to be stopped from executing and call this approval hierarchy instead.

Gowri,
Go to http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12515_02/grc/html/docset.html and download the document for your version of Preventative Controls Governor (PCG), you want the user's guide in this case. You will need to have the GRC Responsibility (it was called LogicalApps in previous releases). Log in as this responsibility and you can check "Install History" which should tell you the version you're on. Get the correct documentation and go over the section on Form Rules and Flow Rules (you need GRC responsibility for these screens). This should give you a better idea on what you're looking for. I would think you also need a business analysts help, or someone who originally setup the rule. When looking at the Form Rules you can see which form they are attached to, and that should help tell you if the rule is the one affecting you. You will need to know the form name where this is happening for this to help you.

Not able to capture button event in pageLayout Controller

Hi Guys,
I have the following layout
pageLayout ------------------------ pageLayoutCO (controller)
----messageComponentLayout (Region)
----------messageComponentText (item)
----------messageComponentText (item)
----------messageComponentText (item)
----------messageLayout (Region)
----------------header(Region)
----------------------button (item) (say BTN1) (fires partial action)
I am not able to capture the event fired by the button BTN1 in the controller of the pagelayout..... but if i set a controller at the messageComponentLayout iam able to capture the event.
what should i do in order to capture the button event in the pageLayout Controller

Tom,
Two things:
1)The button ur using is of type submitbutton or button?.In this scenario it should be button.
2)The correct coding practice is using:
if("QUERY".equals(pageContext.getParameter(OAWebBeanConstants.EVENT_PARAM)))
instead of
String _event = pageContext.getParameter("event");
if("QUERY".equals(_event))
because you never know if Oracle in any upgrade or patch change the value of the constant EVENT_PARAM in class OAWebBeanConstants.
3)If first point is followed by you, just match the exact event name in code and in property inspector for the button.

Interactive Form - button SubmitToSap - OnSubmit event is not triggered

Please help to resolve triggering OnSubmit event problem.
I created a test Webdynpro with UI element InteractiveForm.
The InteractiveForm properties are:
- displayType = native
- enabled is checked.
OnSubmit event a method is called. The method contains very simple code so I could debug and see if the event is triggered.
The form was created in SFP with Layout type = Native.
The form properies are:
Default Lang = Javascript.
Default run = at client
Preserve scripting changes to form when saved = Manually
I have inserted Webdynpro script thru SAP Utilities menu.
The form has SubmitToSap button and Textfield.
So now i am trying to debug WDA.
At runtime WDA opens Adobe form.
If I enter data into Textfield and then click SubmitToSap button - OnSubmit event is triggered. I am happy.
Then I run WDA again. This time I click SubmitToSap button right away without entering data into Textfield. OnSubmit event is NOT triggered this time.
Is something wrong with my form properties?

Manas, you are right.
OnSubmit event was not triggered unless U enter value into Textfield because the Textfield property was "Requiered".
Also just for clarification the form Layout type is ZCI Layout (not Native like I said above).

Its really strange that its not able to caputure the event in CO.
Below is the way in which we handle to Submit action at CO level.
/Check whether ClearBtn is same in case too.

Javascript embedded in button pl/sql event handler not being executed

Javascript calls not working from pl/sql button event handler. What am I missing? Are specific settings needed to execute javascript from pl/sql proceedures?
Example: Want to toggle target='_blank' off and on in a button pl/sql event handler to open url call in new window & then reset when processing submit is done & the app returns to the form.
portal form button's pl/sql submit handler:

but then the target='_blank' is left on when the submit is done & we return to the form.
putting the above javascript as a function (called fcn_newpage) elsewhere (e.g., after form opens) & calling in the submit pl/sql with
htp.p('fcn_newpage') ;
also doesn't work.
Metalink thought this was an application issue instead of a bug, so thought I'd see if anyone knows what's going wrong here. (Portal 9.0.4.1)

More generally, what I'm trying to figure out is under what conditions javascript is executed, if ever, in the pl/sql of a button (either the submit or custom event handler, depending on the button).
I've seen lots of posts asking how to do a simple htp.p('alert("THIS IS TROUBLE")') ; in a pl/sql event handler for a button on a form, but no description of how this can be done successfully.
In addition to alerts, in my case, I'd like to call a javascript fcn from a pl/sql event handle that would pass a URL (e.g., http://www.oracle.com) where the javascript fcn executed
window.open(URL). The API call to set_target(URL) in pl/sql has no ability to open in a new window, so calling that is inadequate to my needs and I must resort to javascript.
Its clear in the PL/SQL of a button, you can effect form components since p_session..set_target & p_session.get_target set or get the contents of form components.
So to see if javascript ever works, I tried to focus on something simple that only had to set what amounts to an enviromental variable when we returned to the form after a post. I chose to try to change the html value of TARGET from javascript in the PL/SQL button because it doesn't need to be implemented until we finish the post and return to the form.
So I focused on a hack, setting this.form.TARGET='_blank' in the on_click event handler that forced every subsequent URL call or refresh of the form to be a new window. I then wanted to turn off opening new windows once I'd opened the URL call in a new window by setting TARGET='' in the portal form. I can achieve what I want by coding this.form.TARGET='' in the javascript (on_focus, on_change, or on_mousedown, ...) of every form component that might refresh the form. However, that is a ridiculous hack when a simple htp.p('<script>') ; htp.p('this.form.target=""') ; htp.p('</script>') ; at the end of the button's pl/sql event handle should do the same thing reliably if javascript ever works in the pl/sql event handler.
If we didn't have access to form components through p_session calls, I'd assume it was a scope issue (what is available from the pl/sql event handler). But unless my syntax is just off, when, if ever, can javascript be used in a portal form's pl/sql event handler for a button?
if I code a javascript funtion in the forms' pl/sql before displaying form:

the function can be called from a button's on_click javascript event handler:

So my questions remain: Is there other syntax I need, or does javascript ever work properly from the pl/sql of a form button's event handler? If it doesn't work, isn't this a bug that should be fixed by Oracle?
I can probably figure out hacks to make things work the way I need, but executing javascript from pl/sql event handlers seems to be the expected way to affect portal html pages (forms, reports, ...) and it seems not to work as expected. I don't feel I should have to implement hacks for something as simple as calling a javascript function from pl/sql when almost every example I've found in metalink or the forums or Oracle Press's "portal bible" suggests using javascript from pl/sql via the utility htp.p() to effect web page components in portal.
My TAR on the subject, while still open, returned the result basically: "We can reproduce your situation. Everything looks okay to us, but we can't explain how to use javascript where you want or point you to any documentation that would solve your problem or expain why it should not work the way you want it to. We don't feel its a technical issue. Why don't you post the problem on the portal applications forum."
I'm hoping I'm just missing something fundamental and everything will work if I implement it a little differently. So if anyone sees my error, please let me know.
by the way, not sure this is germain, but in reference to your comment:
"redirections in pl/sql procedures give a peculiar result. in a pl/sql procedure, usually, portals give the last redirection statement and ignore anything else coming after it."
if I try to raise an alert:
htp.p('alert("you screwed up")');
return;
in a pl/sql event handler, it still doesn't raise the alert, even though its the last thing implemented in the event handler. But if I set the value of a text box using p_session..set_value_as_string() at the same spot, it correctly sets the text box value when I return to the form.

Interactive Form for HCM Processes & Forms: Custom Event not firing ?

I am currently developing several Adobe interactive forms as part of an HCM Processes and Forms process. I have started to try to utilize custom form events. Following the documentation, I defined a custom event on the backend...lets say "USER_EVENT_S1". I assigned it a field group of fields and gave it the operation for "check". On the form side, I defined a pushbutton and changed it's "mousedown" FormCalc code to:

I then activated the form and went to test it. When clicking the button tied to this event, it does absolutly nothing. I have external breakpoints set on the backend to my custom service that should fire for those fields that are part of the field group. The breakpoints trigger correctly as the form itself loads and hits the "initialize" and "F4 value help" methods. However, it is not doing anything when I press the assigned button to trigger my own user event.
Any help ?!?!? I see only one implementation from SAP in their standard content and their own user event is not even implemented in the form! (form scenario S_HRPA_DE_REHIRE_1). That's not very reassuring or helpful. haha

I figured it out this morning. It seems I was using the wrong (older?) button control.
The one that did NOT work had the following for the "click" event....

However, the one that DOES work has this:

Hello everybody. I am a web designer (NOT a developer)
I created a form and I'm not sure how to make the 'submit' button send me the collected information.
I have used phpform.org/ to custom build a submission form. Then I opened that html in dreamweaver (so that I could edit colors, fonts, and delete the phpform.org advetisement)
Now I need to link the 'submit button' so that it will e-mail me the completed form.
(formphp.org wants me to subscribe to a servie that I pay for in order to have the form e-mailed to myself.)
(after I get the submit button linked to an e-mail I will pull the html of my completed form into Muse- but I don't think that is really relevent)
I'm sure one of you can help point me in the right direction! I can't write my own code so detailed help is appreciated!

I'm afraid not.    It's not rocket science but you need to do some coding.
You'll need to find a script (php) and save it to your local site folder. Then reference the script in your form's action attribute like so.
     <form action="path/form-to-email-script.php" >
The input fields in your HTML form need to exactly match the script variables.
I'm assuming you're hosted on a Linux server which uses PHP code. Linux servers are also case sensitive, so upper case names are not the same as lower case names. It's usually best to use all lower case names in your form and script to avoid confusion.

I'm replacing a router 2911 by IE3010 (with IP service) and trying to transfer configurations across. I have noticed that on the IE3010 EEM , I can't trigger an event based on Object Tracking.

I do have a track that monitors (ICMP-echo) of two IP addresses and I want to do some action when the track is down and this has been working quite well on the 2911. I have found in the IE3010 event detector that tracking event is not available while the same is available in the 2911
Any advise how can I solve this problem and how can I do action based on the status of the tracked object in the IE3010 ?

InDesign Buttons and Forms... Not Working

Hello Guys,
I'm using Adobe InDesogn CC 10.1.0.70 x64 Build, the problem is with the check box option from Buttons and Forms, They are, simply, not working... I'm trying to add a check box on my pdf I'm creating in InDesign.. I'm using checkbox from "Sample Buttons and forms".. but nothing is working.. I'm just dragging the Check Box samp and drop it in my canvas, exporting it as PDF with "Hyperlinks" checked.. and Interactive Elemnts with Include Appearance chosen but the check box doesn't having any action!! I don't know what I should do to make this work please help

Event tracking of Google analatic is not working in Firefox 37

I am working on event tracking with Google analatics of a site. I can able to track the event in IE and Chrome. But its not working in Firefox 37.
I have tried in safe mode. But problem still existing. Please help me

Hi Saujanya,
This could by caused by the network, the used browser or additional browser plugins. Try to do the following:
1. Test with an alternative browser (if you are on a SP which supports different browsers than IE, see PAM, http://service.sap.com/pam): If it works with Firefox, then you know the problem is caused by IE and not by the OS, network, ...
2. Deactivate/uninstall all additional browser plugins/add-ons (like google toolbar, Yahoo toolbar, ...)
3. Create a client trace as explained in SAP note 999998. Maybe there's a hint in the trace. Watch for something like "ERROR".
4. Install a HTTP sniffer (like "fiddler") on both machines and compare the network traffic. Maybe there's a request with a 4xx HTTP status code?
5. How is the machine connected to your network? Is it behind an additional webproxy?

Separate MIDI Events/By Note Pitch how do I ungroup the tracks?

When using Separate MIDI Events/By Note Pitch it separates the events to individual tracks but they are all grouped by instrument and I'd like to be able to solo and mute them by track. How do I do this without them being grouped by instrument?

Go to Preferences->Audio/General -> Track Mute/Solo and switch to "CPU Saving ( Slow respond ). This will allow you to mute/solo separately. Same when work with Multi Instrument and midi tracks.

GRC Risk analysis reports are not checking all possible risk conflicts set up in the rule set that lead to risks.

Dear All,
After running the risk analysis it shows only the first conflict for a risk in the rule set (Rule ID 0001). We have already Generated SOD ruleset. Also during migration from 5.3 to AC10.1 all the rulesets were imported properly.
What could be reason??
