Green vertical line on right side of my final .mov?

I've exported a custom sized, 4:3, .mov file via Compressor. The final file has this bright green line running vertically down the right side of the frame.
Any ideas how to remove it? I've run into this before - seems to happen inconsistently.
Thanks.

  • There is a vertical line on right side of iphone 4, is it a hardware problem?

I recently bought an iphone 4 at at&t a week ago and I noticed there is a straight vertical line on the right side of the screen that is very thin.  However, the line changes different colors going from purpe, red and blue, and it is also clearly noticable on bright backgrounds or when watching videos or viewing photos.  What is causing this, and if it is a tech problem, should at&t just replace it?
Also, there isn't an Apple store close by anywhere near me.

You have a 1 year warranty.  Take it in to Apple.

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
If it does not resolve the issue, the device is permanently damaged and will require replacement.

  • One-pixel green vertical line

My trusty G4 Titanium laptop has suddenly developed a one-pixel wide green vertical line from top to bottom, about 100 pixels or so from the right. It stays there whatever resolution I set. It seems to be only the laptop screen itself, since it doesn't show up on an external monitor or data projector. The laptop is about 4-1/2 years old (it only seems older). Any ideas?

    Wilkommen zu Apple Discussions!
Sounds like the inverter board is having troubles for the LCD. Stand alone LCDs have been known to have the same problem sometimes right out of the box.
The machine is also old enough to have its clock battery replaced. It wouldn't hurt to try to replace that battery, but if it doesn't fix the issue, I'd basically use the machine as a desktop versus a laptop. Repairing the screen usually would cost more than the laptop is worth. Some of these places may offer international repair service:

Also experiencing some funky issues with my wireless keyboard. With new batteries, it will just stop functioning. Certain keys intermittently won't work. Also the fans go on as soon as I turn the computer on - some times they stay on and sometimes they don't. Ever since upgrading the operating system - I've been having many issues with this iMac. Not happy. Any answers out there?

Thanks for your reply LexSchellings, There is no disc in the drive and I went through the suggestions you put forward on the phone with Apple support without any luck. I can put a disc in but it pops straight back out again without registering on finder.
The idea of using an external drive was to enable me to avoid the cost and loss of productivity whilst machine in repair... if I have to take it in to get the old drive removed than I might as well have a new internal drive put in, although I do worry about the reliability of these apple drives given my experience with this one coupled with my limited online research ... on line forums seem to be full of people with the same problem (although perhaps searching such forums is bound to make it seem a common problem as users with perfectly working machines are less likely to post (?)) Your reply suggests that no external drive will work whilst the existing drive is in place.
As a postscript: I do realise that this is a user forum ...my secondary question was asking if anyone knows how to put forward a case/complaint to Apple... I can't find a link on the support page that would enable me to do so and I was wondering if anyone on this user forum had any ideas/experience..

  • I have blue and green vertical lines on my iMac which is no longer covered by Applecare. Is it fixable?

I have blue and green vertical lines on my iMac which is no longer covered by Applecare. Is it fixable?

What model iMac? Could be a failing video card but maybe not. Is it that way on every screen, startup to shutdown, any time the screen is lit?
Do you have an AASP nearby? Time to have an estimate made. Fixing it will likely be very expensive.

  • I just opened my brand new iPod touch 4th generation, and it's frozen with green, vertical lines. Does it have to be replaced?

It's Christmas morning and my parents bought me a new iPod Touch 4th Generation 4G 32GB. I started charging it, 5mins later I walked back into my room and there I saw it - frozen, white screen with light green, vertical lines. It's brand new, and I just opened it about 5mins prior. I never dropped it, it never touched water. My mum bought it at the nearby Target. I opened it, in it's case and everything. So I have no clue what happened. I really hope the workers at Target didn't just sell me a broken iPod. This really stinks, and I really hope somebody can help me. I feel terrible for my mum having spent so much on it. So please, someone help me out.

Hello planb77 / PANIDORA, I'm having the same problem. I'm using my iPhone 5S or my iPad Mini cable and wall charger to do it (both originals) , and the iPod Shuffle does not charge at all, doesn't matter if is direct on the wall or trough my Macbook Air.I 've restored it once, but nothing has changed. What else can I do?

  • Green vertical line on Monitor on Satellite A80

I have an SA 80 127. It is been 1.5 years.
Recently, a bright green vertical line is showing up on my monitor; seems like some LCD problem.
Anyone has any clues what I should do?
    Thanks..

A single vertical line can't be the FL inverter. The FL inverter (Flurescent Lamp inverter) is only in charge for the brightness of the screen.
Individual lines like the one you describe can be either the graphic card (check can be done by using external monitor), software driver (check can be made by using other OS or wait in the BIOS menu until problem will reappear), TFT screen (lucky case: The ribbon cable got loose or the vga card is not seated correctly, unlucky case: hardware damage on the TFT... replacement of the screen required)
Get a quote from the Toshiba Service or (if you are up to it on your own risk) disassemble the screen, locate the trouble (by moving the display and reseating the described possible sources of malfunction) and finally search on e-bay to buy a cheap replacement screen that can be even lower than 50 Euro.

  • Green vertical line

    Hi there
A green vertical line has now appeared on the screen of my MacBook Pro 13inch and won't go away, even after restarting.
Does anyone know what this is? How do I get rid of it?
Is the problem covered by AppleCare?
    Thanks

I don't think there is anything you can do for it at home. That indicates a probelm with the display itself, its cabling, or the video chipset.
About the only thing you can do is diagnostic, not curative. Attach an external monitor and see it the line persists. If it goes away on the external, then the probelm is probably limited to the display or its cabing. If it persists, the probelm is likely in the video chipset. None of these problems are easy for an end-user to address unless you are skilled as working with tiny parts and have the proper tools and troubleshooting guides.
As long has the computer has ot suffered physical damage, this is exactly the sort of thing that makes AppleCare worthwhile. I'd take it to Apple as soon as feasible.
NOTE: Turn the computer off and let it get to room temperature. Turn it on again and see if the line is there at cold starting or appears later. If it appears later it could be heat-related and you need to tell the Apple tech that when you take it in. He'll have to let it run long enough for the problem to show itself to get e peoper diagnosis.

  • Call bar is now vertical on the right side of screen. How do I get it back on the bottom?

Call bar is now vertical on the right side of screen. How do I get it back on the bottom? I've tried rebooting and changing screens but it won't change. I can't find a setting for that call bar.

This isn't a native setting that I can find Relsea. Did you download an application that maybe has this function? Any luck if you reboot the phone by pulling out the battery?

  • M1319F MFP printing errors - line on right side of page

I've had HP LaserJet M1319f MFP about 1.5 yrs.   Last week, it began putting a page-length, thin line on right side of every copy. Line is slanted, about 1/4" from the side, and gradually becoming 1/2" from the side at the bottom of an 8 1/2 x 11 pg.  I ran pre-moistened laser printer cleaning paper through, same line on the cleaning paper.  I cleaned the scanner glass inside.  I removed the brand-new genuine HP laser toner cartridge,I cleaned it, reinserted the cartridge, made a copy, same line appeared on paper.  I removed the cartridge and replaced with a new cartridge.  I made a copy, same thin line appeared on copy.  This happens with copies only, not with scans or printouts.

Unfortunately this sounds like a hardware failure. Run Apple Hardware Test in extended modeat least 2-3 times back to back. If errors appear then you have confirmed my suspicion. However if no errors appear unfortunatelyyou are not out of the woods l yet  because AHT is not the more reliable test. If you do know know how to run AHT please refer to:

    Ummm...what?
You "do that last time"? Does that mean you already had tried this before posting? If so, I fear you may have tried other things as well...in which case, I request that you list out EVERYTHING you have already tried along with the specific results of each attempt.
Further -- "nothing happen"...as in, your BB did not reboot? Or do you mean that the reboot completed fine, but nothing changed regarding the symptoms you reported.
