Group E-mail from Mobileme
No matter what I do, I can't seem to send an e-mail to a group that I have created in Contacts. I can create the group, but I can't get it into an e-mail "To" line. I've tried dragging (no response at all), right-clicking, right-clicking with various buttons held down, typing the group name in the "To" line, etc. This should be easy -- it's easy in Microsoft Outlook and I expect Mac to be better in every way, but I'm going to give up!!
Are you using Apple Mail or the MobileMe webmail to compose/send your mail? You can't email a group using the web interface.

Can't get/send mail from MobileMe account
Suddenly, my mail app does not download mail to my MobileMe account, or send from it. All my other accounts from different suppliers work normally. I can see the mail sitting on my MobileMe page (via Safari) but the spinning cog wheel just goes round and round - on both inbox and Sent.
I've restarted, repaired permissions, removed the account from preferences and re-installed it, but it makes no difference. Any ideas?Well, I wouldn't jump into that just yet. Others may have suggestions for you to try.
Select the moble me account in the inbox and try rebuilding the mailbox under the mailbox menu. See if that does anything.
Also, check server and port setting and compare to the one still working on your laptop.
At some point in time, I assume MMe will not be configurable under a regular account, but will all be intergrated fully into iCloud. Have you considered just signing into iCloud and using it that way? When doing so, it will create the account in your Mail application as long as you're signed in.
One word of caution: when signing into iCloud, be careful what you select to use. If you select calendars, it will upload your calendar info into iCloud and delete the information locally from the computer. Your calendar information won't be available on your computer when you sign out. Address book gives you the option to keep local contacts on your computer when signing out.
I also tried to add a mobile me account outside of iCloud to test, but it keeps setting me up to the iCloud IMAP account. The account disappears from mail when you log out. So, it won't let me set it up as a POP account. I've tried to set it up in the past using the older settings before iCloud, but wasn't successful. Maybe I had the wrong settings. Not sure what MMe was using last. -

Use Mail Scripts. Its Add Addresses function will collect all the addresses from all selected messages and allow you to select the ones you want to add and allow you to create groups as you go.

Hello, I had 25Go transfered from MobileMe, skimmed down to 5Go now. I cleaned my emails. From mail, on my mac, 'get account information' shows less than 1 Go... From System preferences/iCloud, up to yesterday it showed 12Go...
I don't understand!

iCloud (and Mobile Me before it) are consumer level systems, working correctly they are a poor choice for business use, if you want to stay all Mac try Zimbra if you can let a little Microsoft in the mix use Microsoft Exchange (Mail, iCal & Address Book are compatible as clients), hosted Exchange systems cost about $10 per month.
Or try to fix what is wrong with your installation (which is clearly not running as it should) -

Please Help. I received 4 emails from 1 person with the same message heading. The emails were automatically grouped Apple Mail. I replied to the latest mail in the conversation. Once sent the other messages in the conversation disappeared. I NEED THEM BACK! They all had very important attachments. I have tried looking for them in deleted items, even though I didn't throw any of them away, still cant find them. Never had this problem before. I'm pretty sure its a setting somewhere. Also tried expanding all conversations, no luck. Searching for the mails under the sent email address, no luck.
I'm sure they are not deleted but have somehow been hidden by Mail. Very frustrating.

Kash.I have found found out what has happened. I had requested a statement dating back to April 2012 from a supplier. They replied back with the latest statementof 2013 only but used the same subject heading as the previous monthly statements. Apple Mail automatically grouped these and I thought that they were sent altogether. As soon as I replied to the last email all other the previous emails ungrouped from the conversation leaving me lost as to where they had gone. They were all still sitting in my inbox but no longer part of the trcked conversation. I searched under the subject heading and all individual mails were all still there. (feeling stupid - )

I recently moved to iCloud and yesterday my MobileMe account stopped working. I update my software to OSX Lion and I can't figure out how to psh my mail from my iCloud account back to my MobileMe account. Can you help?

iCloud and MobileMe are similar but separate services, iCloud is replacing MobileMe. Having migrated to iCloud you should now only use your iCloud account. You can access your iCloud e-mail, in your mail application by enabling it in system preferences >iCloud . -

Now have iCloud mail. But the 'Sent' folder messages (only) did not transfer from MobileMe Mail.
Your first theory may be correct.
If you haven't already, change your password on your .mac account. That will stop any further action by the other fellow. Even if you can't tease out the detail of what happened exactly, you can at least fix the problem with the password change.
Also if you left on good terms, contact the new owner of the workMac and ask if s/he used your .mac account. -
Recovering mail from hard disk failure
My hard disk was recently replaced after failing (at Apple's expense since my mac is still under warranty). Fortunately, I made a complete image of my old hard disk on an external drive just days before the problem arose, so am in the process of copying my documents, etc, to the new drive.
Still, I am having a number of problems, including in Mail. I can see my old mailboxes and messages on the external drive, and when I click on messages they open in Mail. I was able to copy the mailboxes to the Library on the new drive (and they appeared after closing and reopening the app), but the messages do not show up (ie the mailboxes are all empty).
To be more precise, I copied the mailboxes from the external drive to my new drive under username/library/mail/mailboxes. It appears that the messages are "there" (they appear in Finder under .../mailboxes/messages) and I can open them in Mail when I click on them from Finder. But the messages don't show up in the mailboxes within Mail.
Something else that might factor into this is that I use multiple email accounts. One reason I mention this is that I want to recover my 'sent' messages, regardless of which account the messages were mailed from.
Surely this is a fairly standard recovery problem but I can't find out a routine to make it work. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I would also be grateful for any pointers (ie other discussion threads) about how to reinstall apps (e.g. Acrobat) that I bought and downloaded, so do not have disks to use to reinstall.

Try rebuilding your mailboxes from the mailbox menu (has to be done on each account, so expand the mailboxes with the small arrow in front of them).
the sent messages will all be in the mailboxes that correspond with each mail account, when you try to group them, you may loose the integrity of the Mail message database. In the Mail view window, when the send mailbox is collapsed, it will appear as if they are all in the same folder.
Try to open your Keychain access from your backup and see if there are certificates for Adobe in there, or look in Library/Adobe support
It is good practice to store all your license data e.g. in a mailbox folder for all software you download. Make sure you have good backups of such files because eventually they represent a lot of $$ and time to get it all restored. -
We have just moved from MobileMe, where we had a 'Family account' (and we each have our own @me.com email addresses) to iCloud. We share the Cal and Contacts on our iMac. How do we sync to multiple devices - we each have an iPad and an iPhone, but with different accounts set up for mail. Mine syncs OK to Cal and Contacts, but hers doesn't. There must be a way! Please help.
According the this: http://www.apple.com/mobileme/transition.html, "After moving to iCloud, family member accounts are no longer linked to the master account." You can share an iCloud calendar (see http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2690), but I don't think you will be able to share iCloud contacts unless you are signed into the same iCloud account on both phones.

How do I stop mail from looping the same emails into the inbox over and over again? It does the same thing with deleted messages that keep showing up again and again in multiples even after deleting them. I have made sure my server settings in all email accounts are set to delete immediately once I delete them on my MacBook Pro/IPhone. This issue has severely compromised the efficiency of Mail on my MacBook. Thanks for any help you're able to give me.
I have tried that but it does not fix the problem.
The "card" group is not a previous recipient.
Although not available for editing in Contacts, it is a valid group showing up in the "To" field of Messages, Mail, or any app using the AddressBook.
Its associated file is automatically created in:
~/Library/ApplicationSupport/AddressBook/Sources/<hexaFolder>/MetaData/<hexa>ABG roup.abcdg
This is why it also shows up in the Spotlight results...
If I manually remove this file, it gets recreated...
If I turn off the syncing through iCloud, the entry gets deleted. If I turn it up, it comes back! -

That's not an Apple ID. That is your admin account which you can view in System Preferencs > Accounts or Users & Groups.
If I switch from MobileMe to iCloud on my Mac (under the apple logo) will my devices work and sync in iCloud. I have no idea how I go 2 IDs
Just use your current Apple ID when you setup your iCloud account that you use for your devices.

I have .me and .mac email accounts on my iPhone 4. I thought I had successfully transitioned from MobileMe to iCloud, but something must be wrong. iCloud seems to work fine on my computer and, with the exception of two email accounts, seems to be fine on my phone. Can/should I delete the accounts on my phone and start over? It is somewhat of a nuisance to have two email accounts and double the amount of emails. The only thing different about the two iCloud accounts is the email addresses. Thanks.
Well, seems I managed to unscrew this...I deleted my iCloud mail account and reinstalled it on my phone. That got rid of the duplicate .me/.mac email accounts.

Hi, I have iphoto 09' and it will no longer import photos from my ipad. The ipad is 2nd gen and run ios 7 (it is updated as of Dec. 13'). It says it does not support jpg. files, though it always has before. I have tried using image capture as well as
