I have a chart with Y-axis as Count and X-axis has 3 sets of groups, MJ,MN,CR.
Currently my Graph looks like this :

when drag and drop gantt>resource utilzation
i try use some date to display gantt but throws error.
so my question.? can we use date in gantt>resource utilzation.
if i remove date. it looks fine.

Grouping the chart data on x-axis

Hi,
I am trying to plot some points on the Plot Chart. I want to
show the Text as my x-axis, so I am using
<mx:horizontalAxis>

</mx:horizontalAxis>
in my code for x-axis. Now I want to plot all y-axis items
under the same x-axis one if they are from the same 'Month' (used
for horizontal axis). If I try to do this, I am getting more values
on the x-axis that have same 'Month' name. Is there any way I can
fix this problem?
Any help would be of great help.

I am sorry but the whole thing makes no sense.
What is the effect of x-axis category grouping?
How can I aggregate info by date, i.e. in the same month or same year
count should be added up?
How can I show on the x-axis (time) the aggregate values?
I just made a report with no x-axis categories, data grouped by year
summing, and the graph that came out was with axis showing months but
with only one bar value.
Are there bugs in this or I just don't understand the concepts behind it?
With time series data I would have thought the MOST OBVIOUS thing that
people would want are:
- aggregations over different time periods:
- days
- weeks
- months
- quarters (doesn't seem to be supported)
- half-years (doesn't seem to be supported)
- years
- time axis should be linear in time - just because there are no
values in March 2007 for example it should still have a bar which should
show a 0 value and it should show up (currently at best it leaves a gap)
- time axis should be relevant to the aggregation
- grouped by years, axis should show 2005, 2006, 2007, ...
- grouped by months, axis should show Jan 2005, Feb 2005, ....
- currently it doesn't
A lot of the time people just want to say give a bunch of sales info
which is a date and a number (number of units sold on that date or
whatever) and they want to be able to produce graphs of different
granularity.
Is this possible? I've been playing with this thing for weeks and can't
get it to do this reliably.

I am using the version 4.3.2. My requirement is to have 2 levels of labels as highlighted in the attached image. I need similar grouping of label repeated in Y axis too for a separate chart.

How to enable the target Group option "Dispaly target Group" in WebUI

hello All,
I am Working on Market Role in CRM 7.0 here when we search for the segment from the Marketing Work center and select any one segment from the search i.e profile set .After that when we click on the graphical Modeler button on the top . That takes to a view where in we can see icons with target group on the right top in the view when we right click on the icon we get options eg: count,export to file etc here we dont have an option call "Display Target Group" but this option is avaiable in the GUI . How can we get this option on to the webUI can any one help me out in this regards.

I don't think you can get a button like this. You are not supposed to view the content of the target group from within the graphical modeler. You have to see this from the traditional CRM WebClient user interface. There you will see the members of the target group when clicking on the target group name.
From the graphical modeler the only thing you can do is to right click the target group and export it to a file.

Grouping Anchored Objects

I have an anchored graphic image (using Object, Anchored Object, Insert) and need to add a text box under the graphic and a rectangle frame with a stroke on top of the image to highlight a portion of the image.
What I would love to do is anchor the graphic image and then group the text box and graphic rectangle to the anchored graphic and have all move together. NO LUCK, I guess you cannot select and group multiple objects if one of them is an anchored object.
The work arounds are
1) Anchor EACH of the three objects which works fine but takes a long time.
2) Group the objects and paste them "inline"
3) Group the objects and manually move them when your text moves.
Is there any way to group, attach or link objects to an anchored object so all of them move with the anchored object?
Have InDesign 3 and 2 (same results)

Right clicking on the anchored graphic and using the "Paste Into" option to paste the three grouped objects worked wonderfully. Thank you so much.

Changing Axis data values in OBIEE 11g Graph

Hi ,
I have a graph with three dimensions and a single measure . So , on x axis I am getting the values with two dimensions like
Customer1 2013
Customer1 2012
Customer1 2011
I want to change it to Customer1 only . Can anybody suggest how can we change this.

Why don't you just remove the Year dimension from the "Group By (Horizontal Axis)" section?

Getting Group/Node position &orientation after a Transformation(s)

I have a set of objects in a scene that are grouped in various ways with controls to rotate these groups around each axis. After a rotation I'd like to be able to re-group the objects in the scene in a different way and then do other transformations from this new state. When I un-group the original grouping I lose the transformation information that was applied to that group (as I expect).
My question is: at the point where the first grouping has been transformed is there a way to apply the sum of the transformations to the individual objects being transformed within JavaFX? It seems that JavaFX knows this information as it has the object at that location and orientation in the scene - I just do not see any way to get it.
Currently I am having to do this transformation outside of JavaFX and then apply it to each object in the group. I've looked through all of the java docs but cannot seem to find anything that does this.

3D Picture Axis Definition

As I program the 3D Picture Control, my mind is always in need of the infamous XYZ Axis definition graphic with 3 Vectors definiing the axes on the display to ease my thinking. Does anybody have one or is there a property or soemthing that I can show on the 3D Picture Indicator?

I could not find any VI named draw cartesian axes.vi as you said in your response. I have the regular VIs that are on the 3D picture/graphics palette and another llb file of old 3D Controls. I have attached my dir listing for the dir that you said that it was in. Am I missing a toolkit or something?

Charting Question: "Group By?"

I came across a problem yesterday that, so far, I have been
unable to solve. I'm wondering if I need to write my own handler.
Here goes.
I have a data set that looks like this:[

I want to set my score value to be the yField and I want a
unique series for each name value, however I want all of the values
to be grouped by the otherName value. So in this instance, I would
see in my chart a 3 series group for the axis value of Texas, a 3
series grouping for Ohio, and a 3 series group for Hawaii.
I've already tried to use the categoryName property on the
horizontal axis, but I'm getting multiple "otherName" labels on my
horizontal axis. For example using this set, i would get Hawaii, 3
times on the axis, texas 3 times, and ohio 3 times, but the data is
charted on the last instance of the names.
Most data platforms have some kind of "group by" field, does
this extend to the Charting components??

Flex has the GroupingCollection, which you _could_ use in
this situation,
but you could also try something kind of like this:

Business Graphic Question

I'm developing a webdynpro application using a Pie chart. In the chart designer, you can tell it to show the labels. I have this check on.   Underneath that there is a field call label format which has "$Label" as a default, if I get rid of this value, my values show in my pie chart. They problem is is that I want to have a "%" sign and the end of the value. For example, the chart shows 95.1, I want it to show as 95.1%   This is defined as a string field, so in my code, I tried putting the "%" sign manually, it didn't work. I have a feeling that the "Label Format" field in the chart designer can maybe help me, but I have no clue what to put in the field. Has anyone ever ran across this.

Graphics Frames

I am having a hell of a time working with graphics frames. I have two problems:
1) How do I create call-outs in a graphics frame that stay within the frame and can be grouped with the primary graphic in the frame (i.e., a screenshot).
2) Sometimes I use text boxes within graphics frames and want to group the text box and graphics frame so they behave as one object. Sometimes I can do this and sometimes I cannot. What trick is there to doing this?

This is one of the most maddening aspects of InDesign. When you create a grouped object outside of an anchored frame and paste it into a selected anchored frame - for example a text frame and a graphic object - you can edit the text in the the text frame, and if I recall correctly, you can select the text frame or graphic with the Direct-Selection tool (the white arrow), and move them within the anchored frame, but you can't paste another object into the anchored frame without replacing those already present. You need to either cut the group from the anchored frame and paste it outside the anchored frame, then add objects to, or subtract objects from the group, regroup, and paste that into the anchored frame.

When is a CustomNode a Group and a Group a CustomNode ?

Forgive me for my greeness here, but..
Items like area panels (left panel, nav panel) etc. would be classified as a Group, by definiton, as it will contain numerous sub elements
However, items such as custom buttons.
If they are declared as a CustomNode they return a Group object anyway on the overriden Create
But I also see examples where it is simply defined as a Group initialised with content which graphically represents the button and the event functions to trigger.
So, is there a solid distinction to determine what should be classified as a Group and what should be as a CustomNode ?
Is the only main difference the ability to apply a transformation more easily ?
Or am I missing the point completely here ?

Yes, it is unrelated, you should have made a new topic, perhaps linking here if you feel it was relevant (at least you made a search before asking!). Even more as this question is marked as answered!
Anyway, you make a mistake many JavaFX coders do: you bind to a function call.
It doesn't work. At best, you can do: var x: Group = bind getAGroup(param); and then the binding will be against param: when it changes, the function will be called again and the result affected to x.
But otherwise, the bind has no way to know if it must call the function again to see if the result will change...
Otherwise, the answer to your first question is: yes, group's content is automatically displayed in the scene.

Grouping in BarGraphs

Hi ,
I have a requirement where i need to group the x-axis according to the data. For Example , we have employees and departments and I wanted to display Sal and Comm in y-axis and Group all the employees of particular department in x-axis . Like employees 101,102,103 should be grouped with department 10. and employees with ids as 105,106,107 should be grouped to dept 20 . Could you please guide us on this.

Variable X axis?

Hi,
I have seen dashboards with variable Y axis for graphics (line chart etc), but I was wondering whether or not something similar could be achieved for X axis graphs? I want to dynamically ajust the x axis for input but can't see how this can be done?

Also the X axis can be dynamic. YOu can select a wider range for your category labels and the values and then in the Behaviour tab you can choose to ignore blank cells.
