Also, the component palette for the XML document generated from the XML Schema does not list all the elements in the XML Schema, only the root element is listed. Even if elements are specified as required in the XML Schema with minOccurs="1" and the "Generate only Required Elements" checkbox is selected only the root element gets generated.

  • XML Document from XML Schema Bug

    When an XML document is generated from an XML Schema the XML document does not have all the elements specified in the XML Schema. The XML document only has the root element.
    1. Register an XML Schema.
    2. Create an XML document with File>New>General>XML>XML Document from XML Schema. The "Generate only Required Elements" is unchecked.
    3. The XML document has only the root element.
    In JDeveloper 10.1.3 all the elements in the XML Schema get generated.

  • Unable to create xml from xml schema

    JDeveloper 10.1.3 EA1
    I am unable to create a new xml file from an xml schema when the starting root element is a complex type (but it works with a simple type). It does not matter if the xml schema is registered within JDeveloper.
    Is this a bug or intended behaviour?
    Error message:
    ''XML Document from XML Schema creation could not be competed succesfully. Make sure the source schema is valid and that you have write permissions to the output directory."
    NB The xml schema is valid and I have write permissions on the specified directory.

    When I do not register this (or other) schema with JDeveloper, I can create an xml document from xml schema. However, when I register this schema and then try to generate an xml document (either from the registered xsd either from a filesystem xsd) with person as starting node it fails with the mentioned error. However, when I use city as starting node it is generated successfully.

    JAXB has been available as an early release download for some time. There are also XML Binding packages available from Borland (JBuilder) and Castor. These tools create Java classes from a source document, xml,dtd etc. You can use these classes to marshal-unmarshal XML documents.

  • Using "XML Document from XML Schema" in JDeveloper

    Hi Experts,
    I have a requirement to generate XML Document from XML Schema.
    For this I have used "XML Document from XML Schema" feature in JDeveloper. It is found in File->New->General->XML Document form XML Schema.
    I have registered a schema with jdev and got an XML document output for that successfully.
    Now, I want to implement this feature in my code for generating XML documents when XSD files are provided.
    Can any one please provide me with pointers to do that? I am sure there should be some libraries which can implement this feature.
    Thanks,
    Dilbagh

    Create an XML document from a Schema with the Oracle SchemaClassGenerator.
    import oracle.xml.classgen.SchemaClassGenerator;
    XMLSchema schema=new XMLSchema();
    XSDBuilder builder = new XSDBuilder();
    URL    url =  new URL(schemaUrl);
    schema = (XMLSchema)builder.build(url);
    SchemaClassGenerator generator = new SchemaClassGenerator();
    Generate the Java classes from the example XML Schema.
    generator.generate(schema);With the java classes construct an XML document.

  • How to generate WSDL from XML Schema?

    What are reasonable strategies, both direct and indirect, to generate a WSDL from
    an XML Schema describing our messages? I'd prefer a more direct route, but I'd

    Hi David,
    There is a "start from schema" example that Manoj built [1] that could
    be a good choice for determining your development path.

  • Autotype from XML schema problems

    Hello,
    I am trying to autotype the following Xml schema:
    http://www.3gpp.org/ftp/Specs/archive/23_series/23.140/schema/REL-5-MM7-1-3
    My build.xml contains:
    <target name="autotype" >
         <autotype
              schemaFile="REL-5-MM7-1-3.xsd"
              targetNamespace="http://www.3gpp.org/ftp/Specs/archive/23_series/23.140/schema/REL-5-MM7-1-3"
              packageName="com.foo"
              keepGenerated = "True"
              destDir="output" />
    </target>
    1.
    I run using ant but it fails..
    SubmitRspTypeCodec.java:15: cannot resolve symbol
    [autotype] symbol : class GenericResponseTypeCodec
    [autotype] location: package soap
    [autotype] extends javax.xml.soap.GenericResponseTypeCodec
    weblogic.webservice.tools.build.WSBuildException: Failed to do type mapping -
    with nested exception:
    [weblogic.xml.schema.binding.BindingException: ERROR: during code compilation
    - with nested exception:
    [java.io.IOException: Compiler failed executable.exec]]
    The interesting point is when i deleted following 3 lines from schema (line 413
    to 415 in REL-5-MM7-1-3.xsd),
    <xs:sequence>
         <xs:any processContents="lax" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded"/>
    </xs:sequence>
    no compile error is thrown.
    2.
    But the weird thing is that some of classes are not generated, for example SubmitReqType,
    ReplaceReqType. This is because they reference RelativeOrAbsoluteDateType (line
    367). And RelativeOrAbsoluteDateType contains the following union definition:
    <xs:union memberTypes="xs:dateTime xs:duration"/>
    i think that this union definition might cause problem but neither an error nor
    a warning message is submitted from ant. It says successful but missing classes.
    I am struggling with these 2 problems for days, any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    aLi

    Hi Ali,
    I suspect that the reason you are having this problem is covered in the following
    link:
    http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/webserv/overview.html#1074641
    I guess my question is, what else do you have in the build.xml that uses (or attempts
    to use) the autotype Ant task? Are you trying to build a client (i.e. a JAX-RPC
    static stub) for a web service? Is this for a WebLogic Web Service you want to
    build? Or are you just trying to see if autotype can process the .xsd file, in
    question? If so, the above link states why it currently won't work.
    One alternative option, is to use a Workshop Schema project (or XMLBeans) to process
    the .xsd file. I just did that, and it worked fine :-)

  • Problem with running sample code from XML Schema Processor for Java

    Hi there,
    I downloaded the XML Schema Processor for Java and tried it out. Unfortunately, it failed at the first step. FYI, I included all xmlparserv2.jar and xmlschema.jar in my classpath.
    I compiled XSDSample.java with a warning: XSDSample.java uses a deprecated API. Recompile with "-deprecation" for details. There was no problem with compiling XSDSetSchema.java.
    When I tried to run report.xml by typing java XSDSample report.xml, I got Parsing report.xml
    NonParserException: null.
    I guess that report.xml from the sample is not valid.
    Could any one give me a hint? Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

  • Generation of java classes from XML Schema.

    Hi All,
    I am working with JWSDP-2.0 but got stucked.:
    To generate Java classes from an XML Schema with the JAXB ,I need to have following jar file in thils location with this JWSDP-2.0
    <JWSDP>/jaxb/lib/jaxb-api.jar
    <JWSDP>/jaxb/lib/jaxb-impl.jar
    <JWSDP>/jaxb/lib/jaxb-libs.jar
    <JWSDP>/jaxb/lib/jaxb-xjc.jar
    <JWSDP>/jwsdp-shared/lib/namespace.jar
    <JWSDP>/jwsdp-shared/lib/jax-qname.jar
    <JWSDP>/jwsdp-shared/lib/relaxngDatatype.jar
    And here I m not finding as jaxb-libs.jar,namespace.jar and jax-qname.jar on respective location.
    If I m putting these left jar file from another place it is not generating all the classes as at least in number it should be 45 but it is generating merely 5 classes.
    Can any one help me regarding this.
    Regards.
    Shelly.

    These JAXB JAR files are for JAXB 1.0.
    For JAXB 2.0 the following JAR files are required.

  • Pulling validation pattern from XML schema in LCD

    Hi team,
    We have deisgned a fillable PDF form uding Live Cycle Designer ES2.
    The form contains fields of different data types.
    We have created a data connection on the form (using LCD) to bind it to a XML Schema
    The XML schema has different types of validations for different data types.
    When we treid to bind the XML schema to PDF form using LCD, most of the validations were pulled in. Example, numeric lenghth check, string length check, minoccurs , maxoccurs
    But few validations were not pulled from Schema like Pattern validations on string.
    Please guide us on how to achieve this using LiveCycle Designer ES2.
    Cheers,
    Kavi

    Hi Kavi,
    The pattern from the XML Schema can not be automatically copied across, I assume because of the differences in the XML Schema pattern regex and a JavaScript regex.  If you did use a compatible subset I you could write a macro to add the pattern to the validation event.  One difference is a XML Schema pattern always assumes a ^  and $ to match the beginning and end.  Have you seen this document http://partners.adobe.com/public/developer/en/livecycle/lc_designer_XML_schemas.pdf,

  • Creating entity beans (EJB3) from xml schema

    Dear friends,
    I have a XML schema.. and I want to implement an Enterprise application with EJB3 Entity Beans exposed through a set of JAX-WS Web-Services...
    question: how to define the entities from the XML schema?

    Two alternatives:
    1) JAXB 2.0 generates POJOs with JAXB annotations in them. You can take ownership of those POJOs and add Java Persistence API annotations in them by hand. Basically, you will end up having both both JPA and JAXB annotations in the same Java class. You can then use them in your code both with JAXB APIs and JPA APIs.
    2) Have a look at http://hyperjaxb3.dev.java.net/ It is trying to automate what I described in #1. The project is still not complete, so right now, you may have to hand code the JPA annotations.

  • Generate XML from XML-Schema

    What possibilities do I have to generate an XML-Instance from the XML-Schema?
    I heard of JAXB and Castor, that generate Classes for acessing XML-Information and genarating XML-files and I heard of Sun's XML-Generator, a command line tool.
    Does anybody know other possibilities?

    i use XMP Spy for converting XML schema to an instance file. it works fine.
