How can i install all components of Haley office rules
Thanks,
Vineela.

Hi
I have already installed Oracle Polivy Modeling 10.1, i created the rule base zip file using rule authoring tool.
tried to access the rules from .net windows mobile device project using .net compact framework 3.5
i have deployed the exe on the windows mobile 6. it is giving follwoing error
could not load the type system.io.compression.deflatestream from the assembly System version 2.0.0.0
the above error is the .net compact framework 3.5 is not supporting the compression.deflatestream class
this class is used by OPA
to resolve this error i have rebuilt the windows application using .net compact framework 2.0 then i got following error
The version of the assembly System Version 2.0.0.0 can not be loaded by this version of the MIcrosoft .net compact Framework
i have downloaded Haley office rules to create rulebase and .net application which uses the rulebase
Can you give me some sample code how to create mobile solution which used rule base created using Oracle Policy Modeling 10.1
Thanks.

  • Decimals in Haley Office Rules

    Hi,
we are using version 9.4 of OPA / Haley Office Rules. Rulebases are deployed on the Determination Server, running on IIS6.0 / .NET2.0 / Windows server 2003.
Rulebases are invoked via web services, from a .NET 2.0 client.
One of the attributes in the object passed via the Asses() method is a Decimal, defined as DECIMAL(6,1) in the underlying sql table. The strange thing is that in the Rulebase the value of the decimal is a factor 10 higher than the original value as passed by the webservice client. This is caused by the fact that the Decimal is passed via SOAP in a dot notation (ie 6.1) while the Rulebase is written using Dutch as language using a comma as separator (ie 6,1).
Is this a (known) bug in OPA/HOR 9.4?
    Are there any workarounds possible?
    Cheers,
    Eric

    Hi Eric,
Does it help if you refer to a fraction in the rule, rather than use the decimal place, e.g. 61/10 instead of 6.1?

    Hi,
If I change the Style for date input to Year, Month and Day edits on an Entity Instance collect screen, it will build and debug correct. The issue is that if I close the project and try to re-open it, the following error will show.
*"Item has already been added. Key in dictionary:'_input-style' Key being added: '_input-style'"*
After importing the files into a new project (because it didn't open anymore) I noticed that by trying to import the Interview Screens file it gives the same error. After some more research I noticed that it gave the error after changing the input Style at an Entity Instance collect screen.
How can I still change the Style to Year, Month and Day edits (because in Dutch we normally notate dates like dd-mm-yyyy instead of yyyy-mm-dd)? Single Edit (default) is a bit unnatural, because even with all the settings being in Dutch you still need to input the date with yyyy-mm-dd.

  • OPA vs Siebel 8.1 Haley Business Rule

    Experts
do you know if Siebel 8.1 Haley Business Rule Engine supports the same function like OPA which allows users using Word to write rules and import the word to OPA to execute the rules ?
    Thanks for your advice
    Cheers,
    Eddie

    Hi Eddie
The Haley Business Rules Engine in Siebel 8.1 is a completely separate product family to OPA. It is not possible to write rules in Word in the Haley Business Rules engine like you can in OPA.
The Haley Business Rules Engine has been discontinued by Oracle and will not be updated in future releases of Siebel. If you are considering using it, you should think about using OPA instead which is the ongoing product.

  • Apple mail out of office rule is sending auto replies to all emails not just newly received emails--HELP!

Apple mail out of office rule is sending auto replies to all emails not just newly received emails--HELP!  I set up the rule according to another apple support thread and instead of only sending the reply to new mail received, it was sent to all messages I believe that were in my INBOX, thankfully I only had a few but several people that hadn't sent me emails since I set up the rule, received the OUT OF OFFICE reply.  Please help.  Here is the procedure I followed for the out of office rule-
    http://www.ecu.edu/cs-itcs/mac/Apple-Mail-Out-of-Office-Replies.cfm
I just used my email account which is a business account- not an ECU account but these rules according to the apple thread apply for all emails. Thank you

    You can set it easily...
To access this feature in Apple's Mail app, right click on any sub-folder (like your exchange inbox on the left) and choose "Get Account Info." A window will pop up that looks like the one below. Make sure to select your Exchange account from the Account dropdown. Then click on the Out Of Office tab. If you have ever put in an Out of Office message in the past it will be displayed here. You can adjust and set your Out of Office from Apple Mail from within this tab.

  • Haley Rules Engine - HaleyAuthority with respect to Oracle E Business Suite

I am currently exploring on Haley Rules Engine which is recently aquired by Oracle.
As per my investingation, i came to know that HaleyAuthority ruleEngine is available as plugin from the recent release of Siebel CRM 8.0 installation and onwards.
    Here goes my questions
    1) is this haleyAuthority rule engine available as third party tool? If so, How to integrate with Oracle E- Business Suite.
    2) Like Siebel 8.0, Is this HaleyAuthority plugged in any latest version of our oracle E- Business Suite?
Please let me know your understanding and information on Haley Rules Engine with respect to Oracle E-Business Suite.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Praveen ,
May be late for you (but for others looking similar information)
haleyAuthority is different from Haley Determination Services (now Oracle Policy Automation)
OPA (Haley's Determination Services) are available as Web Service which you can invoke from E-Business Suite or Use Fusion Middleware (SOA Suite / BPEL) as layer between OPA and E-Business Suite

  • Creating New Entity Instances within OPA

This is another one that I think I know the answer to, but I think it is best to confirm.
In prior versions, it was not possible to create entity instances within RuleBurst/Haley Office Rules. Is that still the case in OPA?
For example, my rules are determining the status of a case and the reason(s) why that status was determined. The case status may be Denied and the reasons may be "invalid customer Id", "expenses to income ratio too high", "primary customer not employed long enough", etc. I want to return all the reasons for the status. While the list of reasons is pre-determined, the ones that apply to a particular case are dynamic, as any, but not all can apply.
Given this situation using a database, I would create an instance of reason for each applicable one and link it to the case. In the past, with OPA's predecessor(s), it was not possible to create new instances from within. They either had to all be passed into the rulebase or a list of all allowable reasons attributes had to be created and then set to true for the ones that applied.
My preference is to create the instances inside OPA. Is that functionality provided in the current version?
    Thanks,
    Terry

    Hi Terry,
Michael is correct that you can't write rules at design time which will dynamically create new entity instances at runtime. However, perhaps the new inferred relationships functionality in v10 could address what you're trying to do.
You can write rules which conclude membership of an inferred relationship. So you might always have, say, 10 instances of 'the reason' in every case, but as for which of those instances apply in any particular case, it depends on the details of the case. You could use an inferred relationship to collect up the entity instances which apply in the case.
First you'd need to set up a regular one-to-many relationship to instantiate the 10 instances at runtime - this would be done in the usual way. Then you'd also need to set up an inferred relationship and write rules to conclude the members of the inferred relationship. The instances which are members of the inferred relationship are then effectively the list of entity instances you wanted to create in your example above.
Have a look at this OPM Help article: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/applications/policy-automation/help/opm10_1/Content/Rules%20using%20entity%20instances/Reason_about_relship_between_2_entities.htm

  • Project in dutch language, but use a point as decimal separator (not comma)

I am working with Haley v9.4.1.71.
I am preparing a demo for coming wednesday in which I want Haleys to work together with Siebel. I have now ran in to a problem for which I can’t find the solution. I have made the rules in the Dutch language wich all works fine. As it seems it also uses the dutch format for numbers, this means that the decimal separator is a comma instead of a point. Siebel however, requires the decimal separator to be a (point).
Data delivered from Haleys to Siebel is in the current situation therefore converted incorrectly.
    My question is:
How can I keep the dutch language, but use the point as a decimal separator (instead of the comma).
    Thing I have tried already:
    - Configure the file hi-servlet.properties with the Haley Interactive Configuration Tool
The ‘Application Output Numeric Format’ is #,###,###,##0.###############
This looks correct, but still in the User Interface the comma is used as the decimal separator.
    - Set the Windows Regional and Language Options (Tab Regional Options) to English(United States) and customized the Decimal symbol to a point.
    - I have also looked in the Folder C:\Program Files\Haley\Office Rules 2008\Language\Dutch but couldn’t find specific settings for the comma separator
I hope you can help me solve this issue.
    Sake Kampen

    Thank you for the reply.
The problem to upgrading to v10 is that we make use of a OPA <-> Siebel integration developed by the local Dutch Oracle pre-sales team. And I don't know if we can replicate what Oracle has done for us if we upgrade.
But the problem I'm having doesnt lie with the connection but with OPA itself, in OPA the decimal separator is a comma where I want it to be a point. This problem only exists when I create a Dutch project, when I create an English project (on the same windows environment with the same regional settings) the decimal separator is a point.
I have advanced a little bit, but I’m not quite there yet.
Haleys seems to use the Regional settings of Windows.
The regional settings of my Windows-installation was English, so I temporarily went to Dutch to see what the settings were there. Ofcourse the numberformatting was in the dutch way with a comma as the decimal separator. So I changed this to a point and clicked ‘Apply’. Then I changed the language back to English and clicked ‘Apply’.
In Haleys the same error persisted.
So I went back to the regional settings of windows, and there I went back to dutch (English was still selected) and saw to my surprise that the ‘corrected’ decimal separator for dutch was set back to its default.
So I changed it again to a point and now kept the dutch regional setting, and tested Haleys again. The behaviour of Haleys then changed. But surprisingly the decimal signs are now deleted.
    e.g.:
a value derived from a table in excel is transformed as follows
    in Excel: 28.5 ==> in Haleys: 285
Provided by user in Haleys: 543.1234 ==> shown in Haleys summary screen 5.431.234
I can provide decimal numbers and they seem to be accepted, but if I show them in the summary screen (using the%%) I see that every number is rounded to a whole one in the way described above.
Are you certain this is a known issue that has been adressed in Haleys 10?

  • Word 2007, Add-ins menu, items appear twice ...

    Hi
    I'm using win7 word 2007 and OPM 10.1.
I'm attending a course in OPA/OPM and we have seen that the Add-ins menu appear weird.
Several students that attend the course are seeing the same phenomena.
If I select the add-in tab in word, the OPM short cuts appear twice, first one set, then when I scroll further to the right a second set appears.
It is only the right most set that works.
If I hover the mouse over the first set smiley face, the tooltip says "Haley Office Rules: Compile (Alt+R) ". If I check the tooltip of the rightmost set it says, "Oracle Policy Modeling: Compile (Alt+R)"
I have only installed OPM 10.1 on this pc. Not any older version (like old Haley versions)
    kind regards,
    Michael

    Hi
Try these 3 tips to restore the toolbar to how it should display:
    1. With your project open in Oracle Policy Modeling, run Update Oracle Policy Templates from the Tools menu. This will attempt to make sure the correct Word template is attached to each project Word document that is not currently excluded from the build. Open a Word document to see if the toolbar/ribbon is now displayed correctly. If not, continue to step 2.
    2. Try resetting the UI language for your project. To do this, choose Options from the Tools menu in Oracle Policy Modeling. Select Environment. Select General. Under Authoring UI Language, choose a language other than your preferred UI language, and click OK. Then repeat these steps to revert to your preferred language. Open a Word document to see if the toolbar/ribbon is now displayed correctly. If not, continue to step 3.
    3. Open one of the Word documents in your Policy Modeling project. Run the macro UpdateToolbar: In Word 2007, choose the View ribbon, then select Macros/View Macros, highlight the UpdateToolbar macro, then choose Run.

  • OPA at UK Oracle User Group in Birmingham Dec 1, 2009

I will be making a presentation on OPA at the forthcoming UK Oracle User Group conference at the ICC at Birmingham. This is a major conference for the Technology and E-Business Suite parts of Oracle, running from Monday November 30 to Wednesday December 2. There are 12 different tracks plus Masterclasses and Roundtables, with 5 presentations per day, so a huge range of subjects is covered. Oracle employees make many presentations, but consultancies and end users also contribute.
I have been allocated the final presentation in Track 9 on Tuesday, with a title of "Extending Oracle E-Business Suite to use Haley Office Rules". As far as I can see, it is the only mention of Rules in the whole conference. As I am the only barrier between tired delegates and the bar, the presentation will aim to be light hearted but instructional.
I would be delighted to meet any OPA Forum members at the event and in the bar afterwards.
More details of the event are at http://techandebs.ukoug.org/default.asp?p=3232

Thanks for posting this event to the OPA forum David. It is great to see the partner community spreading the word on OPA, especially in a form like your presentation where you'll be highlighting real world experience of an OPA implementation.
I'd love to see your presentation, but wont be able to attend. Will it be recorded or available virtually for those unable to travel to be there? Perhaps you could post your slides to this forum after the event?

We have OSX Server 3.0.3 running on Mavericks 10.9.2.

We use Thunderbird to deal with client  emails.
In previous versions, out of office rules were set up and done via the web interface.
As Apple have now dropped this in the latest version, we are struck.

Without creating rules in Thunderbird and leaving the client Macs on whilst away, what are the options?

  • IWork vs Microsoft Office For Mac

I am a university student and just bought the MBP 2.53 and i was curious of which i should get. iWork 08 or Office for Mac. Any opinoins?

I have several Macs in my household and because I have a 13 yr old daughter with a MacBook, I purchased iWork. I also own Mac Office which I upgraded to 2008 the week it came out.
I thought that I could stop using MS Office for my work-related stuff, but after using iWork for a while, I went back to MS Office 2008. The formatting conversion in iWork is not reliable. More importantly, If you work in the real world and have to share files with colleagues, Office rules, unfortunately. It's just not worth the incompatibility hassles to use iWork instead of Office.
Even my daughter has given up on iWork because of compatibility issues with her school which has only PC's available to students. This is going to change next year when she starts high school at a private Catholic school. This school uses Macs, but they still require MS Office.
For a single user looking to get a nice work package affordably, I think that iWork is a great value and much nicer to use than Office. But that's about it until iWork develops further into a real business package.
BTW, if you are a student or have a student in your household, I suggest that you check out the steep software discounts for students at www.academicsuperstore.com. You can purchase the student version of MS Mac Office 2008 for $159, and it includes licenses for 3 computers! The student version is the same as the full retail version except that MS does not allow upgrades on the student version to the next generation of Office, whenever that becomes available. Other than that, it's the same product that you can spend $350 for a single-user license.
    Cheers.

I am trying to create a rule that has effective date filters.. ie.. out of

I can't seem to find out how to create the filters for the rule.

I've created Repository Variable "CurrentDate", using SQL-query like this "select convert(varchar(10), getdate(), 104)" and now this variable is being initialized by value "07.04.2011". But I don't understand how to use this varible in DashboardPrompt! What item in list "Default selection" I should choose - "Variable Expression", "Server Variable" or something else? When I chose "Variable Expression" and write "CurrentDate" I got just string "CurrentDate" when preview Prompt. @{CurrentDate} gave me the same result.
