Handle SOAP req within JAVA APP.

Hi expert,
My self Preet, I have to built JAVA Application to handling charging over SOAP protocol.
I have XML format, where 4-5 parameters and dynamically change and some are static.
As now, I am using JAVA API, which calls URL (made in DOT net) with dynamic parameters code of DOT net made XML format and post this to operator and respond that status to my JAVA API.
But I want to remove the dependency of that DOT NET's code so pls help me to making JAVA API to handle SOAP req and there response too.

White collar crime, including time theft, probably exceeds all other crime, at least in the US. And at least in some circumstances some employees are lead to believe by other individuals that such practices are SOP. However, even if directly order to take such action by a boss it certainly doesn't free you from criminal prosecution and at best only allows for a defense in a civil proceding.
Professionally I won't allow nor condone practices that break criminal or civil precendents.
Personally I refuse to follow orders or suggestions that break criminal or civil precendents. Nor will I allows others to do so in my presence. Doing so opens me up to prosecution. I certainly would never do that for a job.
Delivering the jdk to a customer is simply a matter of convenience. At the very least doing that exposes one personally to firing for cause. After all if your boss doesn't specifically order you (in writing) to do this who do you think will get the blame? In addition all parties involved, your current employer, the customer and Sun could potentially try to sue you. Even if you win, the legal costs would be staggering. How much money are you willing to spend for convenience?
If you are so sure about the word of the 'reps' then I would suggest that you get one of them to put it in writing (not email.) Even better get more than one.
If you want a customer to use this then simply have the customer download the jdk. And actually I expect that the legalities would probably be fulfilled if you were acting as an agent for the customer (but that status depends on the contract with the customer.) You do have to download it for them though (not as yourself.)

  • Creating xml within java app

    Hi,
    I have reached a situation where I have to create small pieces of xml (around 8k characters) within my java app. Right now I am using stringbuffer to create the xml which does not go against a dtd. This is working for now, since I do not have to read in the xml again.
    But if I wanted to use some other xml utility like xerces or jdom, is it recommended for my use of xml or would it be an overkill. Please let me know.

    I was wondering if it were possible for a java application to automatically set up an ODBC data source for a JDBC connection in a windows environment.
    This is the method I call to initialise a connection to my database:

  • Deploying Java apps: Jars within a jar

    Dear Java gurus,
    Imagine I have a Java application. I wish to bundle it all within a jar file. The problem is, I also wish to add some dependencies, in the shape of a couple of other jars. This means that the user could run the app using the straight-forward "java -jar myapp.jar" command.
    So, I jar it all up. This Jar contains a MANIFEST.MF that specifies the main class, and also the classpath. ("Class-Path: lib/other.jar") as the extra jars were in a dir called lib within the jar.
    But, this doesn't work run as java complains about not being able to resolve classes that exist within other.jar.
    I have yet to find anything on the net beyond really basic examples of using jar. Anyone had more experience with it and can share some tips?

    Its a horrible thing. Basically, you can't include jars in jars.  I asked this question on the Java.sun.com forums a while ago if you want to search there. Its a common question and pisses people off.
    You have some other options:
    1: extract all dependency jars and include the classes in a single jar file.
    2: distribute multiple jars and set the Class-Path in the Manifest to point to them. Since you're pointing at lib/other.jar, you gotta use:
    myjar.jar
    lib/other.jar
    You won't find another way around this. I recall somebody suggesting that packaging jars with jars should be available in mustang, but as of yet, it is not so.
    Also, I would strongly recommend starting to use Java Webstart /JNLP for distributing java apps. I've never done it, but it takes all this hassle out for you by automatically maintaining dependencies. I'm intending to try to get Ensmer going using JNLP sometime.

  • Handling SOAP faults

    hello,
    I created a java control which calls an external webservice. How do you handle
    SOAP fault messages coming back from the webservice?
    Weblogic just throws an java.lang.reflect.UndeclaredThrowableException since it
    cannot parse the expected XML message.
    For example, when I call Logon() via the java control. The WebService should
    reply with a LogonResult object(in xml format). However, if there's an error,
    the WebService returns a SOAP Fault message. Since this fault message is not
    in the format of the expected LogonResult xml schema, weblogic throws an error
    (since it cannot create the LogonResult object) and the caller just receives the
    UndeclaredThrowableException without knowing any of the contents within the SOAP
    Fault.
    I'd like to be able to send back the SOAP fault content back to the calling function.
    I've tried throwing an exception from the java control handler, but it gets swallowed
    up by the SOAP Handler so I still get an exception with no content.

  • How do I run multiple java apps in one JVM to reduce memory use?

    Hi all,
    I saw an article either on the web or in a magazine not too long ago about how to "detect" if the app is already running, and if so, it hands off the new instance to the already running JVM, which then creates a thread to run the Java app in. As it turns out, my app will be used in an ASP environment, through Citrix. We may have as many as 50 to 100 users running the same app, each with their own unique user ID, but all using the same one server to run it on. Each instance eats up 25MB of memory right now. So the question is if anybody knows of a URL or an app like this that can handle the process of running the same (or even different Java) apps in one JVM as separate threads, instead of requring several instances of the JVM to run? I know this article presented a fully working example, and I believe I know enough to do it but I wanted ot use the article as a reference to make sure it is done right. I know that each app basically would use the same one "launcher" program that would on first launch "listen" to a port, as well as send a message through the port to see if an existing launcher was running. If it does, it hands off the Java app to be run to the existing luancher application and shuts down the 2nd launching app. By using this method, the JVM eats up its normal memory, but each Java app only consumes its necessary memory as well and doesn't use up more JVM instance memory.

  • Can't execute web app from NetBeans 3.6 with Sun Java App Server 8

    Hi there,
    I'm tyring to execute a java web application called myfirstjsp.
    In directory ...\myfirstsjp I've got:
    - index.jsp
    - WEB-INF dir
    - META-INF dir.
    I can run myfirstjsp from NetBeans if I choose the Netbeans default server, Tomcat 5.0.19 (this web server is configured to port 8084).
    However, when I try to execute myfirstjsp from NetBeans with Sun Java System Application Server 8(configured to port 8080), it gives me an annoying message:
    The Sun Java System Application Server 8 could not start.
    More information about the cause is in the Server log file.
    Possible reasons include:
    - Port conflicts. (use netstat -a to detect possible port numbers already used by the operating system.)
    - Incorrect server configuration (domain.xml to be corrected manually)
    - Corrupted Deployed Applications preventing the server to start.(This can be seen in the server.log file. In this case, domain.xml needs to be modified).
    I checked port conflicts but none found.
    The other two options don't give me a place to start (I don't know what to do with domain.xml)
    I'm working with:
    - Windows XP Pro
    - J2SE 1.4.2_04 (installed in C:\Program Files\j2sdk1.4.2_04)
    - Sun Java Application Server 8 (installed in C:\Program Files\Sun\AppServer)
    - Netbeans 3.6 + Sun Java System Application Server Plugin (installed in C:\Program Files\NetBeans3.6).
    My PC has the following environment variables:

    Is this EJB compilation error normal ? if not what does it mean ? Sun Java App Server installation isn't OK ?
    I tried to look into the Sun App Server Troubleshooting, searched forums... but couldn't squeeze any valuable info from any of them.

    I seem to have the same problem, I cant run sun application server 8.1. The server is in c:\sun\appserver\, I am using netbeans 4.1. I recieve the same comment above:
    The Sun Java System Application Server 8 could not start.
    More information about the cause is in the Server log file.
    Possible reasons include:
    - Port conflicts. (use netstat -a to detect possible port numbers already used by the operating system.)
    - Incorrect server configuration (domain.xml to be corrected manually)
    - Corrupted Deployed Applications preventing the server to start.(This can be seen in the server.log file. In this case, domain.xml needs to be modified).
    I cant see any port conflict, the server is set to port 4848. I dont know about any configurations.

  • What path to use to access network files from Java app running on Mac

    I have a Java app running on a Mac with OS X that I'm using to check for files that exists on Windows servers within our network.
    Using a path like /Volumes/<Share>/ works because I've already connected to the drive using Finder. If I try to use a fully qualify the path with "smb://<Server>/<Share>" then my app doesn't see anything. Is there any way that I can get Java to connect to a directory without first having mapped or made the connection via some external tool like Finder?

    I am quite new to the world of J2me, altough I've been coding Java for quite a few years now.
    Recently I bought a LG u 8120 phone with Java-support so I decided it was time to step into the mobile Java-world.
    Now I have written my first small app, a simple timer application which my phone (strangely enough) does not already have.
    So what happens is this : I create my app on my PC and package it with the WTK into a jar -file and a jad-file which i transfer to the phone.
    After this I can see the name of my app in the list of available programs in the phone. But when I try to run it: Nothing. The Java logo shows up for a few seconds and then I am tossed back to the menu.
    I have thought of the following as possible problems:
    1. the 8120 does not support MIDP2.0
    2. I am doing something wrong transfering the files
    3. I have missed out on one or several necessary steps in the process
    Anyone who have developed Java apps for LG phones who can give me some hints?
    I've used the Sun J2ME Wireless Toolkit 2.2 with MIDP2.0 and CLDC1.1 .
    The apps works fine in the emulator. The problem starts when I want to run it in the phone. The phone I've tried is an LG u8120. LG apparently does not want to make life easy for its customers, so there is no support for transfering Java apps in the vendor-supplied software. I suppose that's because they want you to only download stuff from their site. However, after surfing around on some discussion forums for a while I found a program called G-thing which can be used to upload Java apps to LG-phones via USB.
    Any help is very appreciated!

    I have tried this and ruled out some of the possible causes.
    When I added some more exception handling, I could see that a "java.lang.IllegalArguenException" is thrown.
    When I ran the AudioDemo package that came with WTK2.2 I noticed that the examples that uses WAV-files do not work while the rest works fine.
    My new theory is now that the u8120 does not support the WAV-format, so I will try with an mp3 instead and see what happens.
    Anyone who knows if LG-phones support WAV-format?

  • Multithreaded Java app calling C via JNI...need help!

    I have a multithreaded Java app making a JNI call into some C code. It is a high speed imaging algorithm that I simply can't/don't want to do in Java. I am very new to JNI and I am hoping to get some expert advice on how to solve this issue. Basically, I need a seperate JNI session (if that is such a thing) per thread. In other words, I need to essentially keep state of each JNI call as it pertains to the current thread.
    The 2 ideas I have thought about are:
    1. Have the native code pass the data back into java, and have the java object hold it. Then, when subsequent native calls are made, you pass the data as a paramter of the native method.
    (This can be painful as it a lot of complicated and/or a lot of data.)
    2. Define some sort of a structure to hold each instance of the data on the C side, returning to java a lookup key. Subsequent native calls include the key as a paramter, and the data is looked up. ( a quick example of this would be nice).
    I would appreciate any information/expereince/pains with this one.

( a quick example of this would be nice).The lookup key, or a simple "pointer", can be returned to Java as a plain old "int" or "long" (I don't know what is the size of the pointers in your platform, if 32 or 64-bit). So you can return a "long", that can be treated by Java programs as an "opaque handle" (a pompous name for things that can't be handled adequately at the "client" side).
    I assume that C/C++ allocates the memory and it remains "fixed" (untouched by garbage collection) between calls. So a real C pointer can be used in such case. If you have some smarter scheme of allocating things in your program, return another kind of lookup key (for instance, if you allocate things in fixed-size C arrays, you can return the index of the C object in the array instead of returning a plain pointer.

  • Java apps not working right

    I lately have found problems with Java apps not working correctly. For example, in Yahoo Widgets I cannot get any widget preferences to display; in Apple's Java Preferences for J2SE 5.0 the preference window opens but is blank; and in JBidwatcher the buttons are missing in main and preference windows.
    When I log in as another user I find all those apps work properly, so it seems to be something wrong within my User folder. I tried reinstalling the Java J2SE50ReIease4 but it didn't help. Is there something I can delete and/or reinstall to fix this problem?

    I made the mistake of thinking I could throw away the preferences in the Java folder and new pref's would automatically replace the missing pref's, much to my surprise no such thing happened. My settup is the same as yours, except my OS is 10.4.8.

    JavaFX and Swing integration is documented by Oracle - make sure you understand that before doing further development.
    What are you really trying to do?  The answer to your question depends on the approach you are taking (which I can't really work out from your question).  You will be doing one of:
    1. Run your Swing application and your JavaFX application as different processes and communicate between them.
    This is the case if you have both a Swing application with a main which you launch (e.g. java MySwingApp) and JavaFX application which extends application which you launch independently (e.g. java MyJavaFXApp).
    You will need to do something like open a client/server network socket between the applications and send the data between them.
    2. Run a Swing application with embedded JavaFX components.
    So you just run java MySwingApp.
    You use a JFXPanel, which is "a component to embed JavaFX content into Swing applications."
    3. Run a Java application with embedded Swing components.
    So you just run java MyJavaFXApp.
    You use a SwingNode, which is "used to embed a Swing content into a JavaFX application".
    My recommendation is:
    a. Don't use approach number one and have separate apps written in Swing and Java - that would be pretty complicated and unwarranted for almost all applications.
    b. Don't mix the two toolkits unless you really need to.  An example of a real need is that you have a huge swing app based upon the NetBeans platform and you want to embed a couple of JavaFX graphs in there.  But if your application is only pretty small (e.g., it took less than a month to write), just choose one toolkit or the other and implement your application entirely in that toolkit.  If your entire application is in Swing and you are just using JavaFX because you think its TreeView is easier to program, don't do that; either learn how to use Swing's tree control and use that or rewrite your entire application in JavaFX.  Reasons for my suggestion are listed here: JavaFX Tip 9: Do Not Mix Swing / JavaFX
    c. If you do need to mix the two toolkits, the answer of which approach to use will be obvious.  If you have a huge Swing app and want to embed one or two JavaFX components in it, then use JFXPanel.  If you have a huge JavaFX app and want to embed one or two Swing components in it, use a SwingNode.  Once you do start mixing the two toolkits be very careful about thread processing, which you are almost certain screw up at least during development, no matter how an experienced a developer you are.  Also sharing the data between the Swing and JavaFX components will be trivial as you are now running everything in the same application within the virtual machine and it is all just Java so you can just pass data around as parameters to constructors and method calls, the same way you usually do in a Java program, you can even use static classes and data references to share data but usually a dependency injection framework is better if you are going to do that - personally I'd just stick to simply passing data through method calls.
