Handling DST in SQL Query for UCCX Custom Report

We wrote all custom reports for one of the call centers using our UCCX deployment. One problem we see we will hit in the future is DST. We suggested they use UTC but they wanted to see the call data based off of EST timezone. Right now we are okay because we use -5 to get the correct data but come March we are wondering how to address the issue. What options do we have? How are other people handling DST with the SQL queries for custom reporting? I see that the HR client will determine this based off of the local computer time then gives you the option to use UTC. We have all of our queries in an Excel document that the customer just needs to open and select Refresh All to update their data.

"case-when" statements are evaluated in order.
so you must do something like this:
SELECT
CASE WHEN <is not number>THEN 'N'
CASE WHEN <is greater than 0>THEN 'Y'
Now "<is greater than 0>" will always have number for input, can't get "not number" error there.

Creating an SQL Query for Project Custom Fields Values

I'm currently trying to create an SQL Query to show all of the server's Project Custom Fields Values, along with the modification date.
So far, I've managed to display correctly all of the data for all of the Projects' text value Custom Fields (those not based on a LookUp Table) with this query:

However, when I try a new Query to obtain the actual values for the Projects Custom Fields that do use a LookUp Table, I can't seem to find what table in the model I'm supposed to link to the MSP_PROJ_CUSTOM_FIELD_VALUES.CODE_VALUE field (the TEXT_VALUE
field has NULL value when CODE_VALUE field isn't NULL)
Any suggestions on how to obtain the actual Projects' custom fields values instead of the Code Value, for Metadata that do use a LookUp Table?
Also, I'm able to run this query only in the Published Database, since the MSP_CUSTOM_FIELDS table is empy in the Draft Database. Why is that?

Hi Sebastián, rather than directly accessing the database it would be better to use the PSI to get this data. Take a look at the ProjTool sample in the SDK whcih gets this data.

CIM WIM/EIM sql templates for developing custom reports

Hi there,
We want to create custom reports from eGReport Database, where I can find the SQL queries are used in the reports are available from Report Console and then I'd be able to develop my custom reports?

In CIM you can find tables including "_SMY" in their name in reportsDB are holding the reports Data.
I would suggest to consult eGain PS or Cisco AS while desiging custom queries to get accurate outputs. As some of column names could be confusing to you without Data model guide.

Creating a query for a custom report layout

i am really stuck with this task - i need to populate a report with rows with "0" values based on a particular criteria, here is the example: lets say we have a table BROKERS with company names, their transaction types and cumulative amounts for a current month and all months ever.

table BROKERS does not have a field TRAN_TYPE, but has a field TRAN_TYPE_CD which reffers to another table called TRAN_TYPE_CD_EXPL, where all the codes are explained:

so let me explain :
firstable, report should contains a column MARKET, which should be populated based on the values in the column TRAN_TYPE, but the thing is there is no table MARKET in database, so each time when you need to populate it in a report or somewhere else, you need to use decode like this (assumed everybody knows where all kind of tran_types belong to):

2) problem number 2 is more complicated : the report logic says - is a company has at least one transaction in a particular group (lets say CURRENCY_SELL for market type 'FOREX'), the report should be populated with other tran_types from the market type group with $0 even thou this company did not have any of those transactions during current month. so in this case it should be populated with the rows
Broker1 FOREX CURRENCY_BUY $0.00 $5500000.00
and
Broker1 STOCKMARKET STOCKS_BUY $0.00 $9500000.00
The thing is that it will be executed thru plsql batch on unix, so it must be a single query.

You should create a market table. Do it once, then you won't have to do it over and over again in every query that needs it.

Error while executing a sql query for select

ORA-01652: unable to extend temp segment by 128 in tablespace PSTEMP i'm getting this error while i'm executing the sql query for selecting the data.

I am having 44GB of temp space, while executing the below query my temp space is getting full, Expert please let us know how the issue can be resolved..
1. I dont want to increase the temp space

Problem writing a sql query for a select list based on a static LOV

I have the following table...
VALIDATIONS

REQUESTED     Date

I have a search form with the following field item variables...
P11_DEPT_ID (select list based on dynamic LOV from depts table)
P11_VALID (select list based on static Yes/No LOV)
A report on the columns of the Validations table is shown based on the values in the search form. So far, my sql query for the report is...
SELECT v.APP_ID,
v.REQUESTED,
v.APPROVED,
v.VALID_TIL,
d.DEPT
FROM DEPTS d, VALIDATIONS v
WHERE d.DEPT_ID = v.DEPT_ID(+)

This query works so far. My problem is that I don't know how to do a search based on the P11_VALID item - if 'yes' is selected, then the VALID_TIL date is still valid. If 'no' is selected then the VALID_TIL date has passed.
Can anyone help me to extend my query to include this situation?

The above changes to my first idea I did because of time portion of the DATE datatype in Oracle and therefore the wrong result for today.
For understandings:
1.) TRUNC removes the time part of DATE
2.) The difference of to date-values is the number of days between.
3.) SIGN is the mathematical function and gives -1,0 or +1 according to an negative, zero or positiv argument.
4.) DECODE is like an IF.
Inspect your LOV for the returning values. According to my example they shoul be 'yes' and 'no'. If your values are different, you may have to modify the DECODE.

It has to return "Name" column which is having special characters,whereas some special chars like -, / ," and space are acceptable.
The Oracle query has to print columns having special characters excluding -,/," and space
Can anyone help me to get a SQL query for the above.

Hi Jeyakanthan,
here is an example (put the like statement into the where field)
SELECT T0.CardCode, T0.CardName FROM OITM T0 WHERE T0.CardName Like '%%test%%'
The %% sign is a wildcard. If you need start with write 'test%%' and otherwise ends with '%%test'. For contains you need '%%test%%'. You also could combinate this statements like 'test%%abc%%'. This means starts with test and contains abc.

I have to write sql query for counting pairs under id "100001". i know there will be important role of parent_id for counting pairs. * what is pair( suppose if any user contains both left_leg and right_leg id, then it is called pair.)
I know there are three pairs under id "100001" :-
1. 100002 and 100003
2. 100004 and 100005
3. 100006 and 100007
100008 will not be counted as pair because it does not have right leg..

There are number of rows and I need the result through query as follows.Please help me to proved sql query for below mentioned requirement.
example: table TEST.
COLA COLB COLC COLD COLE COLF MANAGER 5 NULL NULL 3 NULL
SR.MANAGER 6 3 NULL NULL NULL
VP 5 5 4 5 5
I have to write the sql query if COLA IS MANAGER THEN CONSIDER MANGER RECORD,AND IF ANY COLUMN FILED IS NULL FOR MANGER THEN CONSIDER COLA IS SR.MANGER, AND IF ANY COLUMN FILED IS NULL FOR SR,MANGER THEN CONSIDER VP records.
I need output as below.
COLB COLC COLD COLE COLF
5(manager) 3(sr.manger) 4(vp) 3(manger) 3(vp)
Please provide the for above mentioned output.

OIM sql Query for getting the status of the task which got failed

Hi Everyone,
We have a requirement like we need to get the status of a particular task(say Create User in OID resource - Completed\Rejected status) for the particular user.We are able to get the status of the resource provisioed to the user but not the status of the particular task getting trigerred for the user.can someone put some light on this.We need to get the SQL query for this.

please provide sql query for below expected output.
expected output :

for column finance_id: '1', contains three records, but two distinct r_mature_kd hence it should retrive only two records with H,T
for column finance_id: '2','3', contains only one record hence this records should not retrive.
for column finance_id: '6', contains four records, but three distinct r_mature_kd hence it should retrive only two records with H,L,M
please help on this.

Better SQL Query for clients without boundaries?

I've been using and modifying/experimenting with Chris Nackers' SQL query for missing boundaries (http://myitforum.com/myitforumwp/2011/12/07/sql-query-to-identify-missing-smsconfigmgr-boundaries/)
below (changed to add aliases)--but this seems to mainly be showing us non-clients, as several computers that were indeed missing boundaries (using SCCM 2007 SP2 R3, and all our boundaries are protected, most are IP Range, a few IP Subnet, none AD Site) are
not being listed, and everything in the listing has NULL SYS.Client0.
Is there a better query to pinpoint this issue, or maybe using something (error code or log?) that would show computers that can't find a distribution point or some other evidence of not having a boundary?

I gotcha now... I think most people, myself included, rely on finding clients that are not assigned to determine if a boundary is missing. If you expect clients to not be assigned that's not going to work for you.

= This is saying show me all clients not assigned but they do have an IP address and they do have a subnet discovered.
In the case of CM12 it is actually possible for that not to work anyway because you can have separate boundaries for client assignment and content lookup.
I am not aware of any query that can compare the IP address, AD Site and IP subnet from each client to what's configured in boundaries and find machines that do not fall into any boundary.
