Handling of messages for FM GUI_UPLOAD
Hi All..
1) Iam using the FM GUI_UPLOAD for uploading a tab delimited file from the desktop/presentation server.
if the FM returns sy-subrc<> 0, i wanted to display the relevant error message. I would appreciate if any one could help me on how to handle these error messages display for different types of errors.
2) Also i got all the required records into an internal table itab and using a modify command to update the records to database table.
Modify dbtab from table itab.
If for some reason any errors occured in modify statement, please let me know how to handle those errors.
Thanks and will reward helpful answers.

Handling Fault Messages for JDBC Receiver (Syn Inbound)
Dear Freinds,
Can we handle fault messages for JDBC Receiver which is synchronous.
OB Proxy Syn <> IB JDBC Syn
1. How to handle the same ? Please give some examples.
2. Should we use Stored Procedures at Oracle side to handle the fault messages and send back as response to the Proxy Response. Will it work.
Thanks & Regards
K.RameshDear Friend,
I have 2 interfaces where Proxy is OB & JDBC is IB. In the first interface both sender and Receiver are synchronous and in the second one it is Async.
In the first interface i have to send one field from R/3 table along with Native SQL query string to XI and the response of the SELECT query is sent back to the sender.
Assume if no fields are selected based on the field sent then proper error message has to be sent instead of the response message.
In the second interface i will be using UPDATE query at Asyn JDBC receiver.
How to do this if you are having JDBC Receiver.
I saw in many blogs where they had mentioned that we cannot handle fault messages in the Receiver JDBC.
KIindly explain.
Thanks

How to handle warning message for the fields in tab merging , PERSONAS 2.0
Hi all,
Please advice me on the below issue.
In a transaction VA32 , I have merged the fields from one tab to another tab using tab caching.
when i try to change the value of a merged fields , it throws the warnings message. So it is continuously looping from one tab to another tab.
So i tried to use the additional editor concepts in tab caching as below.
Looping is stopped and throws warning message in the same tab.
All the changes are saved successfully only when the enter button is clicked once in the main screen, else the changes are not saved and my previous value remains.
Anybody have an idea on how we can use Additional actions in Tab caching concepts.
Thank you,
ArunHi Kranthi,
When i try to save the fields which i merged from different tab is not saving.
Please find the below details.
Green highlighted fields are custom fields which is merged from different screen like header or item overview screen. This is handled in script button.
Red highlighted fields are merged from different tab like shipping or sales using tab caching concept.
While changing the value of the fields which is merged from different tab , and press ENTER then it throws the Warning message if occurs.
After warning message, if i try to save using the script button for copying all the custom fields which is merged from different screen , pasted it to their respective screens and also saved.
Its working fine.
When i try to save it before pressing ENTER button then the respective changes had made in the merged fields from different tab are not reflected.
How we can handle this issue?
Thank you,

Best practices for handling large messages in JCAPS 5.1.3?
Hi all,
We have ran into problems while processing larges messages in JCAPS 5.1.3. Or, they are not that large really. Only 10-20 MB.
Our setup looks like this:
We retrieve flat file messages with from an FTP server. They are put onto a JMS queue and are then converted to and from different XML formats in several steps using a couple of jcds with JMS queues between them.
It seems that we can handle one message at a time but as soon as we get two of these messages simultaneously the logicalhost freezes and crashes in one of the conversion steps without any error message reported in the logicalhost log. We can't relate the crashes to a specific jcd and it seems that the memory consumption increases A LOT for the logicalhost-process while handling the messages. After restart of the server the message that are in the queues are usually converted ok. Sometimes we have however seen that some message seems to disappear. Scary stuff!
I have heard of two possible solutions to handle large messages in JCAPS so far; Splitting them into smaller chunks or streaming them. These solutions are however not an option in our setup.
We have manipulated the JVM memory settings without any improvements and we have discussed the issue with Sun's support but they have not been able to help us yet.
My questions:
* Any ideas how to handle large messages most efficiently?
* Any ideas why the crashes occur without error messages in the logs or nothing?
* Any ideas why messages sometimes disappear?
* Any other suggestions?
Thanks
/Alex* Any ideas how to handle large messages most efficiently? --
Strictly If you want to send entire file content in JMS message then i don't have answer for this question.
Generally we use following process
After reading the file from FTP location, we just archive in local directory and send a JMS message to queue
which contains file name and file location. Most of places we never send file content in JMS message.
* Any ideas why the crashes occur without error messages in the logs or nothing?
Whenever JMSIQ manager memory size is more lgocialhosts stop processing. I will not say it is down. They
stop processing or processing might take lot of time
* Any ideas why messages sometimes disappear?
Unless persistent is enabled i believe there are high chances of loosing a message when logicalhosts
goes down. This is not the case always but we have faced similar issue when IQ manager was flooded with lot
of messages.
* Any other suggestions
If file size is more then better to stream the file to local directory from FTP location and send only the file
location in JMS message.
Hope it would help. -
PDR/Repl.Workbench, Handle 2 Message Types for Materials
Hi there, here in an existing landscape material data gets distributed to a couple of systems with the PDR tool. A custom message type ZMATMAS2 is being used and in UPSC01 the object type MAT is mapped to that ZMATMAS2. Now, I need to connect a new system with PDR and I would like to a new message type, say ZMATMAS_NEW. (to be independen from existing extensions, segment reductions etc.)
What would be the best way to handle different message types for different systems in PDR / UPS?
I thought of creating a new object type in UPSC01, e.g. ZZMAT and mapping it to my ZMATMAS_NEW. But I wouldn't know how to enhance what in the consequence of that, so that PDR / UPS works with two object types for materials.
Any idea?
Regards,
KarstenHello Karsten.
that is no problem - that is what the solution was designed for.
You have to define different UPS package types and register them recipient dependant.

How to reporcess event message for an event handler
Dear Experts
In one of our cases, we defined a task in the rule set to activate event handler when reason for rejection removed for a slaes order. We used the activity EH_ACTIVATE.
For some of the SO event handlers, this activity was not triggered (do not know why) and the EH is still in Inactive Status. There is an option to reporcess event messages but this is disabled in Production. May I know is there any program to activate the EH in this case?
Thanks
RaviRavi,
I would rather you see why the activity is not being triggered. Try reporting the events in simulation mode and check the results... If it subsequently posts then I would activate full App log logging in SAP EM and see what's going on. It's not good to be intermittently missing activities. You need to get to the bottom of it and use the correct methods in the rule set to achieve this.
Thanks

How to handle archives messages in Msgs waiting for Acknowledgement

If i have a async process in BPM whcih is having status set "Processed successfully" but the BPM has actually spawned a WAIT for a transport acknowledgment(from file adapter), how do I handle archving/deletion for this msg??
Any filter i set in SXMB_ADM will count in such msgs too..how do we work around the scenario?Hi Sriram,
>>>The missing link here is the Adapter status is not considered by ccBPM in deciding the process status..
I think you're right I'd like to know a little bit more about this too
If you decide to post it as an OSS message please

Hi all,
Now Iam getting message in Business work place (SBWP) only
for an idoc if partnerprofile is not found.I need to get
messages for every case say when it is processed or with errors etc.. in my inbox.
Please tell me how to go with this problem.
Any help will be appreciated.
regards
chandu.Hi Sai,
You have to define a workflow which will send the messages in case of any error.
for this first you have to identify the agents or the persons to which the messages have to sent in of the failures and then associate these agents with the workflow.
Then you will be able to get the message in your inbox if you are selected as the agent.

Error occurred while forwarding a message for distributed destination
Is there a change in the way that Uniform Distributed Destinations are handled in the cluster after weblogic9.2?
I am using oracle weblogic 10.3.0.1 in production mode. I have two managed servers, each managed server has a JMS Server.
I create a Uniform distributed Topic on the System module, and publish a message to it.
I can see the message in the topic on the first JMSServer but the following error happens and the message never makes it to the second JMSServer

Handling faulty messages in PI 7.0
Hi Gurus,
my interface is 3rd party app->PI->SAP.
i used proxy on sender side and on receiver side I used HTTP adapter.
Each time my PI will ping that application using the URL and get the batch xml file but if there is no data in the 3rd party application,how should i handle the faulty message.
the message if it fails to retreive the new bach,which is coming from the application is not in the xml format how can i handle the message
Thanks,
JayYour sender is abap proxy and receiver is HTTP and the mode is synchronous.
>what should i do with this message.do i need to use the fault message type to hold this message but I need not send this to >anyone or..Can I configure alerts so that PI users will understand
Yes you can pass the fault mesg from reciever(third party) to sender (proxy). That woud be helpful.
If the receiver (third party) is sending fault message as response then create fault message on the sender side and map the response of third party to sender side (proxy) proxy message. So that proxy will interpret that message as fault message.
Basically you will have request, response and fault messages for both sender interface (proxy ) and reciver interface (third party http). As you know, Fault messages are useful to provide meaningful application errors.
Refer this [link|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi711/helpdata/en/48/5946db5f693912e10000000a42189b/content.htm] for constructing fault message structure. -
Handling fault messages in BPM
Hi,
I am using BPM for a RFC to SOAP scenario to handle Fault messages. (Please have a look at my previous post also SOAP Fault message )
I have created an exception block in BPM to catch the fault message from SOAP service. Inside the exception block i need to map the fault message to RFC response. But fault message is not accessible in Exception block.
Let me know if you have any idea to solve this.
Thanks,
UmaUma:
Let me make clear the requiremt. You have RFC Import(aka Request message) and Export(aka Response + Exception) and you have Web Service with Request, Response, Fault messages. And you want to send the fault messages back to the RFC in addition to the response. I was wondering, If we do the following mapping without BPM, does that fulfill your requirement.
RFC-Import <----
> SOAP Request
RFC-Export <----
> SOAP Response
RFC-Export <----
> SOAP Fault
Can you let me know if you face any problems with this one. I have seen your other thread and was wondering, whats the problem is. May be I didn't understand the requirement properly. Please clarify me -

Handling log messages in procedure
Hi All,
Which is the best way to handle log messages in procedures or packages.When I run a procedure it is taking long time and getting cunfuse it is running or not.Please let me know how to handle log messages other than dbms_ouput and inserting values to log table.
Thanks & Regards,
RajasekharIt really depends on what you want.
If you want to see what stage of a procedure you are at, then DBMS_application_info is the way to go.
You set the name and text in the package and the current state seT can be seen in v$SESSION
Of course it helps if you remember to set it to finished before it ends.
The other alternative I like is to have an autonomous procedure which logs the steps.
You just pass a call to the procedure.
The benefit of this is that the commits are effectively in another session, so won't affect your existing procedure.
You can also code this in such a way that it is off by default but you can turn it on eg by changing a value in a db column.
If I did this, I would have it so that each individual procedure/function within a package could be turned on as necessary.
This means that you can turn your tracing on just for a specific problem even for a production system without affecting the vast majority of users.

Handling error messages in OOPs ALV
The question below is foolish.But I am a beginner so please excuse.
I have successfully displayed an OOPs ALV which displays the material, batch and plant.
A custom toolbar button(delete batches) has been appended to the standard toolbar.
Now when I do not select any rows from the ALV and click the button(delete batches) I have ensured that an error message flahes at the bottom of the screen.
If I repeat the same procedure without coming out of the program it exits from the program itself. i want to avoid this.
I want to flash the error message continually without coming out of the program till the user commits the mistake. Please note that I have not used any leave screen commands etc.
Can someone please help me..
Thanks in advanceI assume you have the ON TOOLBAR event regiistered and the ENTER event for example.
method constructor .
create object grid_container1
exporting
* container_name = 'CCONTAINER1'.
container_name = cfname.
create object grid1
exporting
i_parent = grid_container1.
set handler z_object->on_user_command for grid1.
set handler z_object->on_toolbar for grid1.
set handler z_object->handle_data_changed for grid1.
set handler z_object->handle_data_changed_finished for grid1.
set handler z_object->on_dubbelklik for grid1.
set handler z_object->on_hotspot for grid1.
call method grid1->register_edit_event
exporting
i_event_id = cl_gui_alv_grid=>mc_evt_enter.
endmethod.
So the easy way to do this is in your ON USER COMMAND routine when you can check to see if you selected any rows and the issue a popup warnimg message with the standard SAP MESSAGE statement.
For example in my TEST function here I call a method to get the selected cell.
If none are selected you can then issue your message and you will then be returned back to your GRID display after the user presses the OK button on the message popup.
the grid1 object refers to the class cl_gui_alv_grid.
in your case call a method that gets selected cells rather than selected cell. Use the standard method in cl_gui_alv_grid.
If nothing selected then issue your message.
(Note that your method ON DATA CHANGE / ON DATA CHANGED FINISHED might also be entered as well so insure that you haven't got any coding in these methods that will interfere with processing flow).
method on_user_command .
* FOR EVENT before_user_command OF cl_gui_alv_grid
* IMPORTING
* e_ucomm
* sender
case e_ucomm.
when 'EXIT'.
leave program.
when 'EXCEL'.
call method me->download_to_excel.
when 'SAVE'.
when 'PROC'.
call method me->process.
when 'REFR'.
call method me->refresh.
when 'SWITCH'.
call method me->switch.
when 'TEST'.
call method me->get_cell.
endcase.
method get_cell .
break-point 1.
call method grid1->get_current_cell
importing
e_row = ls_row
e_value = ls_value
e_col = ls_col
es_row_id = ls_row_id
es_col_id = ls_col_id
es_row_no = ls_row_no.
endmethod.
