Handling SOAP errors and parsing error

Hi,
I guess these are two questions.
We are implementing a webservice from a provider. The WSDL is RPC-style. We could import it in PI and generate the proxies in ABAP. The requests are properly sent to the provider but we have problems with the returning message.
Line: -
When the response is positive, we get a parsing problem. Executing the service in SoapUI, this is the returning message:
<SOAP-ENV:Envelope xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
   <SOAP-ENV:Body>
      <SOAP-ENV:loginResponse>
         <Result>s4vep9dm4iu1teh877cdduk0e1</Result>
      </SOAP-ENV:loginResponse>
   </SOAP-ENV:Body>
</SOAP-ENV:Envelope>
When testing in SPROXY, this is the result (without the soap body):
- <SOAP-ENV:loginResponse xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
  <Result>0s5bbett500h183v7fi32jm2o3</Result>
  </SOAP-ENV:loginResponse>
We get the following error message from the parser: Element 'loginResponse' expected. Should the 'loginResponse' tag refer to another namespace? Does this mean the provider's respons is wrong?
Line: -
When the response is negative, we get the following response (as seen in SoapUI):
<SOAP-ENV:Envelope xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
   <SOAP-ENV:Body>
      <SOAP-ENV:Fault>
         <faultcode>0001</faultcode>
         <faultstring>Invalid account credentials.</faultstring>
      </SOAP-ENV:Fault>
   </SOAP-ENV:Body>
</SOAP-ENV:Envelope>
This is the error we see when we test in SPROXY:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>
- <!--  Inbound Message
  -->
- <SAP:Error xmlns:SAP="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Message/30" xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" SOAP:mustUnderstand="1">
  <SAP:Category>XIAdapterFramework</SAP:Category>
  <SAP:Code area="MESSAGE">GENERAL</SAP:Code>
  <SAP:P1 />
  <SAP:P2 />
  <SAP:P3 />
  <SAP:P4 />
  <SAP:AdditionalText>com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: SOAP: response message contains an error XIAdapter/PARSING/ADAPTER.SOAP_EXCEPTION - soap fault: Invalid account credentials.</SAP:AdditionalText>
  <SAP:Stack />
  <SAP:Retry>M</SAP:Retry>
  </SAP:Error>
In order to be able to catch this standard soap fault, we took a look at this blog:/people/jin.shin/blog/2007/05/21/handling-web-service-soap-fault-responses-in-sap-netweaver-xi
It guided us through the fault mapping, but still we don't get the correct respons. Are there some supplementary settings we have to pay attention to?
Thanks for any help.

Yes, indeed. The namespace "http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" must not be used for SOAP body elements.
Here the webservice has to be changed.

I think the SOAP adapter changes the application fault into a system fault. So you should have the response in the system fault exception in ABAP proxy.

  • Handle SOAP req within JAVA APP.

    Hi expert,
    My self Preet, I have to built JAVA Application to handling charging over SOAP protocol.
    I have XML format, where 4-5 parameters and dynamically change and some are static.
    As now, I am using JAVA API, which calls URL (made in DOT net) with dynamic parameters code of DOT net made XML format and post this to operator and respond that status to my JAVA API.
    But I want to remove the dependency of that DOT NET's code so pls help me to making JAVA API to handle SOAP req and there response too.

    Unless you work for a Big company no one will know and
    Sun definitely will not care. I've spoken will reps at Sun about this. Gulp!
    White collar crime, including time theft, probably exceeds all other crime, at least in the US. And at least in some circumstances some employees are lead to believe by other individuals that such practices are SOP. However, even if directly order to take such action by a boss it certainly doesn't free you from criminal prosecution and at best only allows for a defense in a civil proceding.
    Professionally I won't allow nor condone practices that break criminal or civil precendents.
    Personally I refuse to follow orders or suggestions that break criminal or civil precendents. Nor will I allows others to do so in my presence. Doing so opens me up to prosecution. I certainly would never do that for a job.
    Delivering the jdk to a customer is simply a matter of convenience. At the very least doing that exposes one personally to firing for cause. After all if your boss doesn't specifically order you (in writing) to do this who do you think will get the blame? In addition all parties involved, your current employer, the customer and Sun could potentially try to sue you. Even if you win, the legal costs would be staggering. How much money are you willing to spend for convenience?
    If you are so sure about the word of the 'reps' then I would suggest that you get one of them to put it in writing (not email.) Even better get more than one.
    If you want a customer to use this then simply have the customer download the jdk. And actually I expect that the legalities would probably be fulfilled if you were acting as an agent for the customer (but that status depends on the contract with the customer.) You do have to download it for them though (not as yourself.)

    Hi, I am trying to access cca service through wsdl by php. but when i am trying to create messageprovider object, that time i got error something like "SOAP-ERROR: Parsing Schema: unexpected <complexType> in complexType" . Please help me to resolve for this error.

    hi,
    just do not use WS-Policy. To achieve this change the WSDL-URL fed to the constructor from
    ... wsdl11/ws_policy/document?sap-client=123
    to
    ... wsdl11/standard/document?sap-client=123
    and it works.

  • Repeated retrieval and parsing of XML file causes IE to display an error message

    I have a flash application that makes a HTTP call every 120
    seconds to retrieve a xml file. This file is being generated with
    fresh data every few minutes or so and pushed to the apache web
    root with a unix mv command.
    I'm using the standard Flash XML object. The HTTP request is
    NOT over SSL (I know there is a bug related to this). Here is the
    code to make the retrieval:
    xmlData = null;
    xmlData = new XML();
    xmlData.ignoreWhite = true;
    xmlData.onLoad = xmlTraverse;
    xmlData.load("
    http://domain/dir/somefile.xml");
    The "xmlTraverse" method was written by my team. There is no
    known bug in the parsing logic.
    Intermittently and unpredictably, IE will display the
    following dialogue box:
    "A script in this movie is causing Macromedia Flash Player 8
    to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become
    unresponive. Do you want to abort the script?"
    I originally leaned toward an infinite loop causing this
    problem. The timeline jumps back and forth between two frames,
    checking in the latter frame if the xml has been loaded and parsed
    before allowing execution to move to the next frame. I hardcoded
    the loop check to always be false, but this did not produce the
    message above (although it pegged my CPU).
    The only scenario where I've managed to reproduce the message
    above is by making a huge (50 MB) xml file. This consistently
    produces the message. But I don't realistically see how our xml
    file could ever be over 1 MB.
    First, can anyone cite another cause for this message? I'm
    starting to lean towards the issue lying in our parsing logic such
    as infinite recursion on a badly formed XML file. Second, does
    anyone know of a solid xml SAX parsing actionscript utility where
    you can assign callbacks to XML nodes? If the problem is in the
    parsing, we may have to replace our homegrown solution with
    something more robust and proven.

    Is it a recursive parsing function? I'm not sure about this,
    but I think this message pops up when there are more than 256
    iterations in a loop (I've read something about this 256 limit,
    that will end while loops if they exceed this, but with another
    error message... but again, I'm not totally sure about that).
    The message is typically for loops, but I don't know when it
    fires. Sometimes it appears for really 'small' loops when you're
    using the debugger (e.g. a for loop with 100 iterations), so maybe
    it is connected to the time a loop is running. You could place some
    trace statements in the xmlTraverse method, to see where the
    function was when the message occurs, or take the time the function
    needs and check if this might be related to the error.
    That's all I can come up with, guess there are people here
    with more insight to this...
    cheers,
    blemmo

    Please don't overwhelm us with so many details!
    Just off the top of my head ... as a general approach ... something like
    nohup proca
    nohup procb
    nohup procc
    while (some condition checking that all three procs are still running ... maybe a ps -ef |grep  )
    do
    sleep 2
    done
    procd
    But, we'd really need to know what it is you are really trying to accomplish, instead of your pre-conceived solution.

    Hi All,
    <b>My question here is, </b>
    Is there any way to handle the validation/PPR kind of run time exceptions/errors. I have tried to handle these errors by extending the lifecycle and overridden the reportErrors method. But this method is being called in the PREPARE_RENDER phase. But the exception is happening in the JSF_PROCESS_VALIDATIONS phase.       these are specific to interfaces, in order to handle those
    u need to configure apllication log at 'SLG1' t.code.

    Is there something wrong with the request ? Are there known bugs with handling of Soap request in this version ?

    Ajeet,
    I believe that may be caused by the fact that the payload is empty (<inbuf></inbuf>). The gateway is very strict on that...

  • How to catch and handle soap foult in a BPM process?

    Hi,
    I have a BPM process which calls a webservice in one of its activities. The webservice throws an exception so the response will contain a soap fault element. I defined exception handlers to handle the error but none of the exception handlers are called. How can I catch and handle these types of error?
    The log contains this:
    A component failed while executing activity '/Process1#Default-1.0/Automatic' (BP-method Automatic) over instance '/Process1#Default-1.0/3/0'.

    Hi fifty,
    Did you get a solution to the above problem you have mentioned? I have a similar issue i am trying to fix.
    I have a webservice call in a process activity and if the call does not work i get a soap fault and the fuego.lang.ComponentExecutionException . My process requires that i catch the exception infact any kind of exceptions that occur on that call and perform another activity in the process.
    I have defined an exception handler at the activity level for java.lang.Exception and java.lang.RunTimeException.
    i don't see anything in the catalog which would handle the SOAP fault OR the componentexception.

  • SOAP error when xmlns keyword is uppercase.

    I have a problem with the SOAP receiver adapter.
    XI creates a soap envelope with the keyword SOAP in uppercase:
    <i>SOAP:Envelope xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" >
    <SOAP:Body>
    </SOAP:Body>
    </SOAP:Envelope></i>
    This gets the following response from the web service:
    <i>         <faultstring>The root element for the request could not be determined. When RoutingStyle is set to RequestElement, SoapExtensions configured via an attribute on the method cannot modify the request stream before it is read. The extension must be configured via the SoapExtensionTypes element in web.config, or the request must arrive at the server as clear text. --> The root element is missing.</faultstring></i>
    I have finally worked out that the webservice which I am calling cannot parse this request.
    It will only read the envelope and body is the soap is in lowercase.
    <i><<b>soap</b>:Envelope xmlns:<b>soap</b>="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
    <<b>soap</b>:Body>
    </soap:Body>
    </soap:Envelope></i>
    The namespace used inside the body is fine, but uppercase SOAP fails every time.
    Is there a way to change XI so it uses lowercase for the tags?
    Is there a SOAP standard I can hit the webservice developers with?
    Regards
    Michael
    (ps Thanks Bhavesh for feedback on my previous message.  I have created a new message now I know what the problem is!)

    The best solution is certainly for the webservice provider to follow the standard and accept any prefix for the soap envelope.
    Unfortunately they are now in integration testing with other parties and cannot make any changes...  This means that I have to figure out a work-around.
    The soap envelope is not added at the mapping stage, so I cannot modify it there.  However, I should be able to add the soap envelope in a mapping and select "No SOAP Envelope" in the soap adapter.
    I have tried this but got an HTTP error, so I am obviously not getting through to the webservice - maybe the action is not sent when there is no envelope?
    Also, I think I also have to cope with the response coming with a soap envelope where XI does not expect it.
    Any other suggestions for modifying the output from the SOAP adapter after it gets the soap envelope and before it leaves XI?
    Moorthy, I would like to see the output but SAP note 856597 is no longer available on OSS... (An SAP note with the number requested could not be found)
    Smitha, I have used soapUI to test the web service, and this was how I finally worked out that the soap had to be in lower case.

  • SOAP error when running webdynpro application

    Hi All,
    I have developed a web dynrpo application using ABAP webdynpro in se80.
    When I run the application, I am getting the following error
    "The following error text was processed in the system WC3 : WebDynpro Exception: SOAP Framework error: SOAP Runtime Exception: CSoapExceptionTransport : HTTP send returned with status code(100.101). &#43970; 8
    The error occurred on the application server sys90_WC3_00 and in the work process 0 .
    The termination type was: RABAX_STATE "
    What would be the reason for throwing this error? In the SOAP runtime of SICF, I am not able to see any web dynpro application set up. How can i add web dynpro service in SOAP runtime? Or is there any other specific reasons too for this error.
    Any help is really appreciated.
    Thanks
    Ricky

    SOAP error.
    I got this error for bw system.so previous person who handling the systems told me that BW will have integrated ADS?which would get installed as part of bw installation?im not sure abt it? however one of the user is getting the SOAP error.
