i dled j2re 1.4.2 and i install it and i dont know what to do next...i tried to do everything and cant get it to work....

Got to give a lot more info than that. How are you trying to run it? I hope with an application.

I have been working on this for several hours now and not having much luck. I think im not understanding the relationship between the two classes properly. Also there is a GUI that goes with it but it only so fay has the code to construct the GUI. My problem is getting these two classes to compile, then mabe i can move on to finishing the GUI. If you need the GUI then i can post it.
If you could, please take a look at these two classes that im having trouble with, where am i going wrong.......

This is the second class.
Explanation. With a working GUI this program will add and retrieve different products, two events are required, add/modify and search. new products are added to an array with three parameters name, price and quantity. These product need to be able to be called up and stored into a text area displaying name, price and quantity.

I am considering nuking the current iTunes on the second computer and re-installing, giving myself a clean slate to work with. Is this the right way to go?

Connect the external drive and open a Finder window pressing the Finder icon in Dock. Then, drag the folder to Finder, so it will be copied to this external disk.
If you can't copy this folder, probably you have to format the external disk or use an app that allows you to write in that external drive. Mac OS X can't write in NTFS external disks

I updated to the latest itunes then went to sync my ipad I had a hard time getting it to recognize the ipad then it stopped agter step 3 and I could not get it to see the ipad. Most of the software on the ipad has stopped working can not get it to work?

This is a copy of ONEof the keys in the registry I changed as told by Apple support today. I also have changed others as instructed by GEAR software support to manually delete GEAR drivers (that I had installed but couldn't delete some of the others they mentioned from Windows system 32. Then some bright spark at work told me I need the Gear drivers so I downloaded the software and installed again.
Sorry, just this minute went to insert image and it is giving me a message saying this sort of content is not allowed?.

Having a hard time getting iMac (Alum) to start up

I had to force restart my imac because it ended up freezing in Front Row. When it restarted it didn't pick up that my Time Maching Hard Drive was connected, so later in the day I restarted again and it will usually pick it up and when I restarted it my iMac wouldn't boot up. The apple symbol came up with the cirle that rotates, but it did nothing past that and I gave it 5 mins becuase it has never taken longer than that. I then tried it again, but it still wouldn't boot. I decided to leave it off and unplugged for the night.
I tried it the next day and still had a hard time. I would unplug everything and hold the power button down (was told by a customer service rep to do this with an earlier problem) and the I plug everything back in and try again, but nothing. I then would hold down the power button until I hear the long tone and then it would restart and I finally got it to boot up, but this doesnt' work every time. Once it rebooted, my dock was back to its original state and my hot spots were turned off. I also wanted to to access my accounts and I had it locked and when I press the unlock icon, not thing happens, which is not usual.
Everytime I restart my computer I get the white screen, so I have to shut it off and try again. Sometimes it takes me 5 or more times of trying different things to get it to boot up. Do you have any suggestions?

I don't think Front Row has anything to do with it. It sounds like a HD going bad, or some other hardware - logic board, etc.
Can you safe boot? Hold down shift key on boot and at login screen select restart. See if system then reboots normally.
Boot into your Leopard DVD and repair HD and permissions.
If you have DiskWarrior, use it.

I attend everest college, I had to download foxfire , it is the site supported by everest college. I am having a hard time getting on line. We are now on brake and I have not been able to check in for grades

when i use foxfire to do college work. I have to keep trying for several hours to get in. I had a hard time finishing my finals, cause I could not get in, I was taken a test and computer went out. took most of my test time left to sign back in. When I signed bck in I had 6 minutes to finish. We are on break this week. Classes start back on april 18. Help!!!!

Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.

Having a hard time getting a iPod touch 4g case off

I can not get this case off my Ipod touch 4g: Griffin Outfit Ice Case for iPod touch (4th Gen.) I can get the top part off if I pull extremely hard but the bottom part does not even seem to move. Any ideas how to get the bottom part off. Could cleaning the edges off it help?

I could not get the case off of mine either. I ended up slipping (very carefully) a butter knife under the back to release the seal. Before I put it back on I rubbedva thin film of mineral oil on the inside of the case and haven't had a problem since. I still have to pull hard to get it out but it doesn't stick as it did before. Hope this helps.

Save your process files outside of the NI progam directory (you should have external backups already right ). THey should not be deleted.
Any customizations to the lookout.ini and lookout.sec file may be lost.

[Solved/Bug]Hard time getting my wireless to work with netctl

I'm wondering what is up. I have a very fresh (no WM yet) arch linux install on a laptop i intend to use at school, needless to say i can't use it there unless i got proper wireless.
Would you suggest i just switch to wicd? (i'm more familiar with wicd, but as i recall i think i had this set up and working fine with netcfg once upon a time.)

i tried according to the wiki using
#wifi-menu -o
to automatically generate a profile to see if i was doing something wrong, but no profile was generated (at least not inside /etc/netctl/)
The only 2 programs i've installed apart from the core that came with the pacstrap last night are 'dialog' (for wifi-menu) and wpa_supplicant (with no particular configuration). Am i missing a dependency or doing something wrong?

I'll be using both ethernet and wireless on this laptop at random pretty much, i'm now scratching my head over how i can make it use ethernet anytime it's connected but otherwise look for a wireless network.
I'm not understanding how that bonding thing works, so i don't know if i can rely on it for that purpose or not.
This would be no problem if the whole thing was better designed. I need 1 extra dependency (ifplugd) to be able to automate switching between ethernet profiles and another(wpa_actiond) to be able to do the same for wireless profiles, i don't want to start both of them because it would most likely have a heavy impact on my boot time. all i want it to do is choose between dhcp ethernet or two different wireless connections.
i was kindof hoping i could trick netctl-ifplugd into runing netctl-auto if it fails.

Im having a hard time getting AE to run even though I know it should

Hey guys, Ive been starting to try and get into using after effects. I have put lots of stuff together in premiere pro and want to add some effects but i can hardly get it to even playback the file in the preview window, won't even scrub through hardly.
Premiere pro cs6 runs smooth and renders out iin good time.
My system specs are:
I have changed a few settings while playing around as per some pages I found on here about ram allocation and CPU stuff heres thos settings.
Im kind of at a loss with what else to do... Any thought are appreciated, I have a ssd on the way but Im not sure It will make all that much of a difference

I hope you don't expect AE to work like Premiere. It doesn't.
There's nothing wrong with your machine or with your software that's immediately apparent, either.
Premiere does one thing, AE does something else. They don't work the same. You don't use them the same way. AE is a totally different application than Premiere, and just like Premiere, you have to begin at the beginning if you want to learn it. People who try to use AE intuitively end up failing about 90% of the time.
So here's a good place to start.
I STRONGLY recommend you use it and you don't blow it off. If you do, you're only hurting yourself. Seriously.
I don't care how good you think you are, you'll miss some important detail vital to using AE, and your work will come to a grinding halt.

Since I installed Firefox 17.0.1, the program has become unstable. I have a hard time getting the program to respond to start. I have to try at least 3 times

As I mentioned, the program will not start on the first time that I click the icon. The hourglass appears for a second or two and then disappears.
I have to try at least 3 or more times before the program responds.
Should I try to uninstall 17 and reinstall 16.
I have already uninstalled 17 and reinstalled it.

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

¿is it too hard to get an ati working?

Hi, I'm thinking of upgrade my video card, however, although I'm a nvidia fan, atis beat the crap out of nvidias in the price range I can afford, so I were wondering how hard would it be to get the drivers to play nicely (I have some expectatives on trying xgl with a more powerful card (mine, actually kind of sucks)) with linux and how slower do they run in comparision to as if it were working in windows (if anyone knows) runing, I don't know... quake3 or some game that runs on both oses (I know ati dirvers in linux are slower, but how much?)

Performance depends on the series of card your planning on purchasing.
While the open source drivers only work with older cards, I believe they have (or had since fglrx no longer works with r200 series cards) better performance than the ati drivers.
That being said, since it seems you're purchasing a newer ati card, performance versus nvidia is only decent as far as I've seen. Nvidia drivers in linux allow the card to perform similarly to how they perform in windows. Ati's drivers allow ati drivers to perform mabye two thirds of what they are capable of.
My ati x700 (pretty new) gets 3800 in glxgears and my 3 year old gforce 4 ti4200 gets 3200 in glxgears... not that glxgears is any sort of benchmark but it does give an indication of how the card will perform overall.
Despite less than stellar performance, my ati x700, and numerous others that I own (9600xt, 9500, etc) all work fine with linux and the fglrx drivers and all also work well with XGL.
I have not run quake 3 on both of my computers, so I could not give you a side by side comparison offhand. That being said, any new ati or nvidia card should be able to handle any game that you can throw at it in linux be it in wine or native.
If your price point is where the ati card is, I say go for it!
