Hardware requirements for web application

I am developing a web application with JSP's and servlets, it also has a database (MySQL) with about 26 tables a few of them with over 40 columns, pictures will also be stored in the Database (uploaded by users), for now the application will not have so many clients but it's intended to grow.
I want to know how to estimate the hardware requirements for both the clients and the server to run the application.
Tanx in advance.

    Hi Ashish,
If you want to install NWDS only then as said 1g.b is sufficient.
But if it's Personal System then you have to install Portal also( WAS).
You will require minimum of 2g.b of RAM and 120g.b of hard disk.

  • Hardware requirement for Fusion Applications HCM installation

    Hi Team,
I want to install fusion applications for HCM.
Can any one suggest the minimum hardware requirement for installation.
Please help me with any documents.
    Thanks,
    Chandra

    Dear Chandra,
Please note that Fusion Applications installation involves following components.
    1. Oracle Identity and Access Management components (Middleware infrastructure)
    2. Oracle Database for IDM
    3. Oracle Database for Fusion Apps
    4. Fusion Applications Domains (includes Admin and managed servers for Fusion Applications)
I have posted a guide on installing Fusion applications on 2 node setup and if you have sufficient hardware to host 2 VMs then it can be done on single server as well.
    http://www.oratraining.com/blog/2013/03/oracle-fusion-applications-installation-step-by-step-guide-11-1-6/
This will explain the 2 node architecture which I have prepared.
    http://www.oratraining.com/blog/2013/03/fusion-applications-architecture-for-2-node-setup/
The minimum memory requirement changes if you select more products since in Fusion apps each products have their own domain and if you select more products then there will be more application managed servers (even if you don't select a product family, it will still create some managed weblogic servers based on dependency with selected products)
The minimum memory requirement to host IDM and consolidated DB in 1 node is 10-12 GB
The minimum memory requirement to host Fusion Applications domains on 2nd node is 64 GB (for 1 product family, for all products selected then 128 GB)
Please note that these are "minimum" requirements based on my experience, not as per the documents since what we are talking about is installing for "learning", not for production, where you will host various components in separate nodes.
    Thanks

  • Hardware Requirements for J2EE application

    Hi,
I need to know the best way to estimate the required hardware resources for a J2EE web application.
For example if i have 200 users running the system, how much CPUs/RAMs .. etc resources do i need?
    Thank you

You need a lot more specs than that. Like exactly what is this application doing, what kind of database access, what kind of pooling are you using, are these continuous users, how intensive they using the application, and even then, if it is a well written application, the hardware needed might be considerably less than that of a poorly written application.

  • Requirements for Web Application Designer

    Dear Experts,
Happy New year to all....!!!!! We have installed BI in SAP Netweaver 2004s with ABAP+JAVA stack. Also, we have BEx 7.0 and we need to create web templates of the reports and queries which  have been created in BI system so that we can call them in CRM 2007 Web UI.
For, our BI consultant is trying to create web template, but could not do so as it is giving a XML Validation error. Also, I came to know from one of my friend that inorder to use WAD the BI system should have a component called BI_JAVA.
Can anyone tell me is it mandatory to have BI_JAVA in BI system to create web templates using WAD and what are the requirement or pre-requisites to use WAD.
Currently, BI system is not having BI_JAVA and how can I install if it is required. Appreciate any qucik help in this regard.
    Regards,
    Sharath Babu

    HI Sharath,
Preliminary checks and general issues for WAD
Is the Microsoft .Net Framework installed to the PC and available in the required version plus potential hotfixes?
Please see notes 930350 and especially 877774.
Is the Netweaver BI Frontend installed correctly in the latest version? Please see note 918394 for the BI Frontend installation check and attach it to the Customer Message, if you create one.
Please get the latest version of the BI Frontend in case it is not already installed.
Is the Portal connectivity (connectivity between ABAP backend and Java backend including the "Callback scenario") set up correctly and running? Please see notes 917950 and 888687 which explain how to set up and analyze issues here. Note 916090 explains how to indicate that a situation is there. The quick check is (as also mentioned in the notes): execute program RS_TEMPLATE_MAINTAIN_70, choose "0ANALYSIS_PATTERN" and click "Runtime Format Preview" (details see note 917950)
If an issue occurs here, and the notes do not seem to help you solve the problem, please provide the information mentioned in notes 917950 and 888687. The component is BW-BEX-ET-WEB.

    Hi,
go to [http://service.sap.com/bosap-support] and navigate to Documentation->Supported Platforms->BusinessObjects XI 3.1
Keep in mind that what you see there are the minimum HW requirements. And if you are planing on deploying BOBJ on a virtual machine, make sure that it gets enough CPU and RAM and that the disk I/O on the host has a decent throughput.

  • ...recommended system & hardware requirements for clients P6 8.2 Clien&Webs

What are the recommended system & hardware requirements for clients P6 Professional and Client Web for P6 8.2 ???
I need to know the recommended systems & hardware requirements for clients P6 Professional and Client Web for P6 8.2
I mean what kind of processor, memory ram minimum and maximus to run or to deploy P6 Professional Client from P6 8.2 version and the requeriments to run the P6 8.2 Web application.
I need like a chart (not necesary) with the most common configuration with hardware and software like the example below
         SO     Ram     Hdd     Processor
    P6 Professional 8,2     Windows Xp Sp3     4 Gb     2 Gb +     Core2Duo 1,8 +
         Oracle Linux     4 Gb     3 Gb     Core2Duo 1,6 +
    P6 Web 8,2     Windows Xp Sp3     4 Gb     2 Gb +     Core2Duo 1,8 +
         Oracle Linux     4 Gb     3 Gb     Core2Duo 1,6 +
Because all information I saw it´s about Server (Database, Server Application and others) and not very clever about P6 8.2 Client and P6 8.2 Web.

I haven't seen PC requirements for a Win workstation per se either. Here are the only 8.2 client requirements I can find.
    Supported Configurations for Client Modules
    For Clients Accessing P6
     Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) 8, IE 9, Firefox 8+, Safari 5.1.x+, Chrome 15+
 Sun JRE (the required version will install automatically with P6); Always install the latest supported patch update with security fixes

     Sun JRE (the required version will install automatically with P6 Progress Reporter);
Always install the latest supported patch update with security fixes
     TCP/IP network protocol
     Optional software:
 Java Access Bridge 2.01 (for 508 accessibility)
 P6 Progress Reporter has been tested with the following technologies:
 JAWS® for Windows screen reading software, version 7.0
     ZoomText Magnifier 9.0
For Database Clients Running P6 Professional
 Database client release 11.1.0.7.0 is supported for Oracle 10gR2, Oracle 11gR1
databases and 11.2.0.2.0 for Oracle 11gR2 (required only for Oracle databases and
    supports only the 32-bit version).

  • Minumum hardware requirement for Siebel Document server?

what is the minimum hardware requirement for Siebel document server?

To install the Document Server, perform the following steps:
    Obtain the required hardware.
    Install the Siebel Server.
    Install third-party applications.
After installing the Siebel Server, you may have to follow some of the steps described in Configuring the Document Server. The Document Server is a component of Siebel eDocuments, which can be installed during installation of the Siebel Server. Consult with your system administrator to verify that the Document Server has been installed and configured according to the requirements listed in the following sections.
    Hardware Requirements
The Document Server is supported on the Windows 2000 platform. To maintain stability and performance, the Document Server must run on a dedicated host machine. The Siebel Server on this machine should host one instance of the Siebel eDocuments component group. No other components should be running other than required system components.
To support more users, you can run additional instances of the Siebel eDocuments component group on additional dedicated host machines.
    Installing the Siebel Server
Install the Siebel Server on the dedicated host machine of the Document Server. For more information about installing the Siebel Server, see Siebel Server Installation Guide for Microsoft Windows.
During installation, you will have the option to enable component groups. Select the Siebel eDocuments component group. Do not enable any other component groups.
This step can also be performed after installation is complete, as described in the section Enabling the Component Group.
    Installing Third-Party Applications
    You must install Microsoft Word.
    To install Microsoft Office
Log on to the server machine using the same user account that the Siebel Server NT service uses. This user account must belong to the Administrators group.
NOTE: The install must use the same account to be used by the NT Service. The installer configures COM security settings so that the installing user account will have the correct permissions to access and launch the application. If the install uses an account other than the Siebel Server NT service account, errors may occur when the Document Server tries to launch the application.
Install Microsoft Office using a Typical, or complete, installation. Verify that your version of Microsoft Office will install the Web Authoring Tools (HTML) component with the Typical installation. If it does not, you will need to use the Custom installation option, and install all of the typical components as well as the Web Authoring Tools (HTML) component.
Start the applications that will be used by the Document Server. This forces the applications to register themselves.
    Close the applications.

    Joseph Arul Dass

  • What is the minimum client requirement for ADF Application?

    Dear All,
What is the minimum client hardware and software requirement for ADF Application?
    Operation System, Web Browser etc...
    Thank you,

Presumably you mean for delivering ADF applications across the web to client PCs. As far as I know there's no hardware requirements. However you can find the browser certification matrix in the following link:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/index-091111.html
Alternatively by "client" you mean a developer PC's hardware/software requirements to run the JDev IDE, the following link gives more information: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/install.1111/e13666/ojdig.htm#BDCDAGAH

  • What is the harddisk requirement for SP2013 Application server + Search component?

    Dear all,
In my SP2013 system, we don't have separated search server. So the all search components are resident with application server.
According to: Hardware requirements—web servers, application servers, and single server installations
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262485.aspx#reqOtherCap
I need 80GB for system drive
According to: Hardware requirements for search topologies for the enterprise
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/651dba4d-8751-4bd8-9492-f2842b2e1177(v=office.15)#HW_Enterprise
    Index component
80 GB regardless of the number of search components hosted on the server.
    Analytics processing component
80 GB regardless of the number of search components hosted on the server.
Crawl component,Content processing component,Query processing component,Search administration component
80 GB regardless of the number of search components hosted on the server
Sorry that I am confused here. I need 160GB or 320GB? My current setup is 250GB. Is it risky? Thanks.
    Mark

The answer depends on whether you are planning to run all the Search components on one server.  They can be distributed across multiple servers.  If you put them all on one server you need the following amounts
80GB for the C: drive (system drive) for the OS and SharePoint binaries
80GB for the Index component (you may need more than that depending on how much content is in SharePoint)
80GB for the Analytics processing component
80GB for the rest of the components
That's a total of 320GB.  That's about right for a starting point for a Search Server that contains all the search components.  Moving one or more components to another server would decrease that total.
But you could probably get by with 250GB depending on how much content you are indexing.  But as your system grows you will proabably need more.  I normally start with an 80GB C: drive and a 300GB D: drive.

  • Hardware Sizing for Oracle Application Server and MapViewer

    Hi all,
I need to develop an application using Oracle Application Server 10g and MapViewer. The applicaction will, basically, do thematic maps based on a search criteria. The estimative is that we will have 25 users simultaneously using it.
I´d like to have an idea about the hardware to support it.
Do you know where I can get this information?
    Any documentation can help.
    Regards,
    Luis Augusto

    Hi Luis,
It may depend on your database size, but I think at least you need to meet the minimum requirements for the Application Server. You can find additional documentation for the AS at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/index.html.
However I would suggest some extra memory, and if possible the better CPU that you can get. MapViewer will render the spatial features on the server side, and depending on your database size and number of features returned from the queries, this extra memory will help.
