Have a question involving a problem thats been bothering me for 1 yr.

HOW do you choose what the cover picture is after you sync your photo's?
confused?
When you open up the photo's app to view your pictures. The different files you sync appear. How can you pick a certain photo to appear as the cover, I know it's just a small picture but I've always had problems understanding how the iphone decides to sort all of pictures out of the order I intended them to be. I want them to be in cronological order but the iphone just sorts them randomly and creates duplicates of the same photo sometimes, after syncing. Please Help Thank you!

I have a Mac and use iPhoto for my photo storage and for importing photos from a digital camera including from my iPhone's Camera Roll.
I create iPhoto albums for select photos in my iPhoto library, and I can select the iPhoto albums that I want transferred to my iPhone under the Photos tab for my iPhone sync preferences.
The first photo in each album that I've selected to be transferred to my iPhone is the key photo, or the photo that appears as the cover for the album on my iPhone.
With iPhoto, I can sort photos in an album by Date, by Keyword, by Title, by Rating, or Manually. I chose manually for photo sorting in each album that I select to be transferred to my iPhone. The manual order that I place the photos in the album in iPhoto is reflected with the album transferred to my iPhone.
When manually managing photos on your computer by placing select photos in created folders to be transferred to your iPhone, I'm not sure how this is determined by the iTunes sync/transfer process for the folders that contain photos selected to be transferred.
Are you able to sort photos in each folder by chronological order?
Is the first photo in each folder on your computer the cover photo for the folder on your iPhone, or is it a random photo that is chosen?

Pearson put out a tech note on this today - the new versions of Java are what's causing the problem. If you can use Time Machine to rollback java prior to a java 7 or 1.6.0_37 version that will get you going again. I've been searching for hours for a place to download the older version but it seems Apple's site and Oracle all only have the latest release. Still trying to see if I have a copy downloaded on a system that hasn;t been updated to copy off to a network drive or usb and install the older version on to systems.

  • Please can someone help, I have a question in my coursework that I don't know the answer to! Explain how PostScript fits into the design process?

Please can someone help, I have a question in my coursework that I don't know the answer to! Explain how PostScript fits into the design process?

The simple answer is that today PostScript really doesn't fit at all into the Graphic Design process, at least in terms of what the graphic designer needs to know.
Historically, though, the PostScript imaging model, first introduced circa 1984 provided the basis for the initial publishing software including PageMaker, Illustrator, QuarkXPress, and even Ventura Publisher. This imaging model included support for continuously scalable text, vector, and raster imagery as well as the concepts of a current transformation matrix that allowed arbitrary scaling, rotation, etc. and multiple color spaces (grayscale, RGB, CMYK, spot, device independent, and color-managed).
The PostScript imaging model was effectively replaced by the PDF imaging model, a significant superset of the PostScript imaging model, by the time Illustrator 9 and InDesign 2 were released in terms of support of ICC color management, transparency, etc.
The fact is that a good graphic designed doesn't need to know anything about PostScript or PDF per sé, but rather about the basics of color (such as issues associated with color gamut and what how that affects display and printing), use of text versus vector versus raster images and why one should keep content at the highest level of abstraction all the way to the rendering (or screen) or RIP process for printing. Some knowledge of typography also helps.

  • You do not have permissions to access a database that contains data required for this form to function correctly.

I have dropdown on infopath form , and it receives data from sql server table ,  it works fine when i am running in preview mode , but when i am publishing form to sharepoint server and loading that form
    i am getting this
You do not have permissions to access a database that contains data required for this form to function correctly.
    Can you please help?
    Thanks,

try this one, if not yet
Convert the data connection to UDC (store it in a Data Connection Library within the same site collection as the form library).  See if this works without any other changes, but if not, then...
Manually edit your UDC file in Notepad (or your preferred editor) so that the authentication line is not commented out and so that it references the name of the SSO target app you created.
    For Type, use NTLM.
Ensure the user has rights to access the database
Also ensure the connection file has been approved - A sharepoint admin can access a non approved Ucdx file. Go to the connection library and approve the file

  • I have a production mobile Flex app that uses RemoteObject calls for all data access, and it's working well, except for a new remote call I just added that only fails when running with a release build.  The same call works fine when running on the device

I have a production mobile Flex app that uses RemoteObject calls for all data access, and it's working well, except for a new remote call I just added that only fails when running with a release build. The same call works fine when running on the device (iPhone) using debug build. When running with a release build, the result handler is never called (nor is the fault handler called). Viewing the BlazeDS logs in debug mode, the call is received and send back with data. I've narrowed it down to what seems to be a data size issue.
I have targeted one specific data call that returns in the String value a string length of 44kb, which fails in the release build (result or fault handler never called), but the result handler is called as expected in debug build. When I do not populate the String value (in server side Java code) on the object (just set it empty string), the result handler is then called, and the object is returned (release build).
The custom object being returned in the call is a very a simple object, with getters/setters for simple types boolean, int, String, and one org.23c.dom.Document type. This same object type is used on other other RemoteObject calls (different data) and works fine (release and debug builds). I originally was returning as a Document, but, just to make sure this wasn't the problem, changed the value to be returned to a String, just to rule out XML/Dom issues in serialization.
I don't understand 1) why the release build vs. debug build behavior is different for a RemoteObject call, 2) why the calls work in debug build when sending over a somewhat large (but, not unreasonable) amount of data in a String object, but not in release build.
I have't tried to find out exactly where the failure point in size is, but, not sure that's even relevant, since 44kb isn't an unreasonable size to expect.
By turning on the Debug mode in BlazeDS, I can see the object and it's attributes being serialized and everything looks good there. The calls are received and processed appropriately in BlazeDS for both debug and release build testing.
Anyone have an idea on other things to try to debug/resolve this?
Platform testing is BlazeDS 4, Flashbuilder 4.7, Websphere 8 server, iPhone (iOS 7.1.2). Tried using multiple Flex SDK's 4.12 to the latest 4.13, with no change in behavior.
    Thanks!

After a week's worth of debugging, I found the issue.
The Java type returned from the call was defined as ArrayList.  Changing it to List resolved the problem.
I'm not sure why ArrayList isn't a valid return type, I've been looking at the Adobe docs, and still can't see why this isn't valid.  And, why it works in Debug mode and not in Release build is even stranger.  Maybe someone can shed some light on the logic here to me.

Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Hi, i want to buy a licence of Creative Cloud, but i have one question... Whats the best choose for a little enterprise?? And if i buy a Single Person Licence, on how many pc's can i install the suite??
    Thanks for helping

    no, that's incorrect.
you can activate on 1 mac and 1 pc, or 2 pc's, or 2 mac's, concurrently.
i have cc installed on 2 pcs and 1 mac.  i can only activate 2 at any one time which works well for me because my pcs are at home and my office and i use them most of the time.
but when i travel i take my macbook so i just deactivate one or both of my pcs (uninstalling is not needed) and sign in to my macs cc app.

  • Satellite L300 BIOS update problem: "That BIOS is not for your notebook PC"

I got Satellite L300 notebook and I want to update it's BIOS (current v1.50), so I've downloaded bios update v1.60-WIN and when I run extracted PS10160M.exe file - I get a message that "That BIOS is not for your notebook PC".
    What I'm I doing wrong?
ps: that BIOS update was automatically suggested after registration on Toshiba website via serial number.
UPD: seems like autosuggestion fail: Manual search shows that 1.60-win bios update not suitable for Satellite L300 PSLBCE model. :-(

Did you download the BIOS for the PSLBCE model?
You cannot use the BIOS from other L300 models, for example PSLB0E.
If you installed Windows yourself using a generic Windows Disc, you will need to install the Value Added Package from the Toshiba website. The BIOS Update requires the TVAP package to detect the machine properly.

  • This has been bothering me for a while

Does anyone know what "CTRL 1, ctrl 2, etc. does? I have been using the router alot for the es2 and ex24 and continually notice these ctrl stuff. I've experimented with them and they seem to do nothing special to the sample. I probably don't know how to use them properly so whoever has, can you tell me exactly what ctrl do?

OK... Seeing as my first answer may have seemed opaque, let me break it down for you:
+Does anyone know what "CTRL 1, ctrl 2, etc. does?+
    Yes
+I have been using the router alot for the es2 and ex24 and continually notice these ctrl stuff.+
    Good man
+I've experimented with them and they seem to do nothing special to the sample.+
The ES2 doesn't use samples, but never mind.
+I probably don't know how to use them properly so whoever has, can you tell me exactly what ctrl do?+
They allow you to assign parameters of your Synth/Sampler to knobs/faders, etc. on your external MIDI controller, if you have one, very much like the MOD source in fact.
Now, what's important to keep in mind is that, like MOD, they DON'T DO ANYTHING but give you hands (and foots) on control over the parameters you assign them to.
To use them you will need:
    (a) a MIDI controller
    (b) a wee bit o' environment knowledge (knowing how to route MIDI and if necessary transform data.
    (c) a good 5-10 minutes to set yourself up.
If you have any questions, I'm your guy.

  • Questions involving a macbook that has been through too much.

I have a handful of questions. I suppose the best way to go about this would be to tell the situation in full just in case there might be issues I have yet to think about.
    So
Back in September, (brace yourself) I placed my 13.3 inch white macbook on top of my car and drove away. It fell off, but I did not know untill much later that my mac was missing. I ended up buying a Macbook Pro and heartbrokenly forgot about the white macbook. Ok so, to make this short, this past week someone had contacted me and said they had it and now I have it back. I am typing this discussion on it now. Here come the questions.
The person who had it, left it in her trunk from september untill now.
I no longer have the charger for it, I have been using my macbook pro charger. I assume the wattage doesnt matter because the macbook 13.3 is only pulling what it needs. But what about the battery managment system? Will the pro charger effect the BMS? Also what procausions should I take in making sure this battery is okay to still use?
Also, frequently while using the white macbook, there is a small crunching sound. I think it might be the harddrive? I have yet to use the disk utility to check things, because prior to loosing the macbook, I reformated the harddrive once and immediatly after checked it with the disk utility, and It gave me some errors but I have had no problems. Is there anything else that crunches when broke ?
Another thing is, earlier while I was using the mac, the body of the mac ( not the speakers) beeped. It was like high pitch, half a second piezo type beep. Is there a data sheet that could tell me all the reasons it would beep like this? I checked the Console for anything unusual. I will post it below.
Also here is some data on the type of macbook it is.
    Model Name:          MacBook
      Model Identifier:          MacBook5,2
Processor Name:          Intel Core 2 Duo
      Processor Speed:          2.13 GHz
      Number of Processors:          1
      Total Number of Cores:          2
      L2 Cache:          3 MB
      Memory:          3 GB
      Bus Speed:          1.07 GHz
      Boot ROM Version:          MB52.0088.B06
      SMC Version (system):          1.38f5
      Serial Number (system):          739285609GU
      Hardware UUID:          D319DB70-FCC2-5182-BB1C-39B2E470CE68
      Sudden Motion Sensor:
      State:          Enabled
    Here is the console data.
The only thing that I see that might be an issue is the buffer allocation size is zero.
And thats basically it. Thank you for taking your time to read over this. If there is any other issues that I should be looking for, please post.

What other USB devices have you added recently? Are you using a hub? Have you tried disconnecting all other USB devices except pointing device and keyboard?
If the problem occurss when the iPhone is the only USB device you probably have a hardware failure in your phone.
