Having increasingly difficult time opening firefox. Other browsers (IE, Google ) work fine.

Uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox. Will not open using desktop icon,
going through start menu.

I did what you suggest a few days ago as I found it on here when I was looking for an answer to my problem....bad news is it does not work, I just tried it again and still no go.....
'''BUT'''... you gave me an idea, and that doesn't happen often.
What I just did was this..........When you do as you say and go to this link you posted [http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues Adobe Flash Player Help page] and right click on the Adobe logo, in the screen, instead of going into Settings I went into Global Settings. Then I clicked on the box "local storage settings by site" and in the new box that opened I found '''"emp bbci co uk"''' I then clicked on '''''emp bbci co uk''''' to highlight it and proceeded to open the box below and changed Allow to Block, closed both the Adobe boxes and bingo, when I went to the BBC News and BBC IPlayer pages I was having problems with my problem was fixed.......No Firefox restart needed.
So Guigs2, if you had not answered this my post and made me look at that Adobe page again I would probably never have found that, so thank you :)
