Having trouble with array formula in Numbers

I should start right away by stating that I am very new to using numbers and array formulas, so potentially I am missing something very basic.
But, I am having trouble creating a progessive array formula that will allow me to charge users of a system different rates depending on their volume of money going through the system. For instance for their first 10,000 it will be chanrged at 2%, but between 10,000 and 150,000 it will be 1.5%, etc.
The formula I am using now is =SUM(IF(IF,B15>=B8:B11,B8:B11-B7:B10,B15-B7:B10+.001)>0,IF(B15>=B8:B11,B8:B11-B 7:B10,B15-B7:B10+.001),0)*D7:D10).
Where B15 is the total money; B7:B10 are the values where a new percentage rate starts, and B11 is just a maximum value; and D7:D10 is the list of corresponding percentages.

Following up on Jerry's suggestion, here's an example that may do what you're looking for.
Main is a table containing several examples of possible amounts and the related charges. Note that for ease of seeing the results of calculations, each amount is either at or 100 above a threshold value at which rates change.
The Rates table lists the threshold values in column A, the rate charged for amounts from that value to the next threshold value in column B, and the total amount charged for amounts up to the that threshold in column C.
For example, an amount of one million one hundred (in whatever currency unit is being used) would be charged 11,675 on the first one million, and 0.75 on the one hundred exceeding that threshold, for the total shown in Main::C10.
Formulas:
Rates::C2: (entered value) 0
Rates::C3, and filled down: =C2+(A3-A2)*B2
Main::C2, and filled down: =LOOKUP(B2,Rates :: A,Rates :: C)+(B2-LOOKUP(B2,Rates :: A,Rates :: A))*LOOKUP(B2,Rates :: A,Rates :: B)
Each of the three LOOKUP functions will find the largest amount in Rates, column A that is less than or equal to the amount in B2 (of Main, the table containing the formula), and return the amount from the same row of Rates and the specified column.
The first LOOKUP returns the amount due on the part of of the amount in Main::B2 up to the highest threshold amount reached, the second returns that threshold amount, which is subtracted from the amount in Main::B2 to determine the 'marginal amount', which is then multiplied by the rate, returned by the third LOOKUP function. That result is added to the amount returned by the first LOOKUP, and the result placed in Man::C2.

I am working with a network analyzer. I have arrays made of 5 columns the first consisting of an integer and the next four consisting of complex numbers. I am converting the array into a spreadsheet string and then saving the file using the write characters to a file VI. That seems to work well as when I open the file in Excel all the data is there. However when I try to reverse the process, open file and convert back to array, I loose some of the data. Specifically the imaginary parts of my complex numbers are all going to zero. I have narrowed down the problem to be in the conversion from spreadsheet string to array and vice versa. I
think the problem may be with the 'format' input to the VI. I do not have an adequate resource for this so I am not sure what to put in to accomplish my task. Any takers?

I don't think there is a direct way of converting a complex number to a
string, so when you convert the array to a spreadsheet string, the
numbers would be converted to real data.
However, you could try separating the real and imaginary parts using the
"Numeric: Complex to Re/Im" function, and then store these - either in
separate files or in adjacent columns/rows in the same file. Then, when
you read in the data again, use the "Numeric: Re/Im to Complex" function
to put the two "halves" together.
If you actually want Excel to interpret the numbers as imaginary, then
you'll probably want to create a string for each complex number of the
form "Re + Im*i" (after separating the Re and Im parts), by using
"String:Format into String" with 2 numeric inputs and the format string
"%f+%fi".
Reading the data back into Labview then would require splitting the
string into the 2 pieces by using "Stringcan from String" with 2
numeric outputs (smae precision as original numbers specified by the 2
Default Value inputs) and the same format string "%f+%fi", and then using
the above-mentioned "Numeric: Re/Im to Complex" function. It worked for
me, so if you can't follow what I am describing, send me an email and I
can email you what I did (LV 5.1.1).

Not to worry, you're not the first to expect Print to finish by returning you to the edit mode. The thing is that Printing is so hit and miss with this version of the app, you will probably want to stay in the Print window for more than one attempt.

Trouble with array to spreadsheet string

I am having trouble with the array to spreadsheet string.
I have a 1-d array of string, the output spreadsheet string never puts a space on the first row, but all others.
example:

format string is %s and default tab is delimiter.
this is screwing up my program because of the "scan for string" function can't be used correctly if the spreadsheet string isnt consistent.

You don't need to use "array to spreadheet string": You could use plain formatting for full control over the output.
Still, your observation is a bit odd. Could you attach a simple VI that shows the behavior? (Put your input array into a diagram constant).

I bought the phone via applestore.com was delivered to my singapore address. The phone battery life is minimal does not hold for more than few hours and am anbale to reset or install any softwares as per battery life. If you could kindly direct as to wehre i can take the phone is singapore to claim warranty as am having trouble contatctin the apple support numbers.

No, no trouble really. Although I am the third owner of this 3gs, I find the battery pretty hard to kill. I think all you people with lag and battery drain problems have one or more rogue processes running. Maybe one of the various system info apps from the app store could reveal if this is the case.
Otherwise, try a restore or a restore as new.

So it's fairly simple. It checks for validity and then reads lines until it finds one with the first char as '1' when it finds it, it reads the rest of the line off.
The error I'm getting is as follows: Exception java.io.IOException must be caught, or it must be declared in the throws clause of this method.
I've added throws IOException to them in attempts to fix the error but to no avail. I've tryed putting the catch in different spots... again, doesn't work.
I'm using codewarrior IDE version 5. I'm fairly sure it's the newest. I installed Java SDK 1.3 with codewarrior originally but I installed 1.4.1 recently.
If you need to see anything else about it, please tell me. I'd be more than happy to post a little more if it'll help.

Ok. I worked through a bunch of throws and now I've found one I can't seem to conquer.

Having trouble with the str()function

I'm having trouble with the str() function. The first parameter is the value and I want to set the format but I keep getting an error. I do it like this. str(locals.array[8]-locals.array[9],"%$.6f"). I get a runtime error, so I tried to remove the "" but now the I get a syntax error.

AirPort Utility in Mountain Lion will not support the older versions of the AirPort Express.....model numbers A1084 and A1088. Check on the side of the Express for the model number.
In addition, AirPort Utility in Mountain Lion will not support the older "round" or "dome" shaped versions of the AirPort Extreme.
Can you check to see how your devices might be affected?

Having trouble with mail.app always reply all is cc'ing myself. Solution was to add another address under the account so that it recoginzes aliases as well as the primary account that you are sending from. Then it will recognize all the addresses and aliases associated with the account.

I have an iPad 3, iPad Mini and iPhone 5S and they are all sluggish on capitalisation using shift keys. I hope that Apple will solve the problem because it is driving me crazy.
I find using a Microsoft Surface and Windows 8 phone, which I also have, work as well as all the ios devices before the ios 7 upgrade.
It has something to do with the length of time that you need to hold the shift key down. The shift key needs to be held longer than the letter key for the capitalisation to work. For some reason, this is a major change in the way we have learnt to touch type on computers. I am having to relearn how to type!

I've done a separate search and found that other users are affected, but there doesn't seem to be a clear-cut solution ... (Norton, McAfee and Kaspersky don't seem to be able to detect/fix it).
I'd like to continue using the Firefox/Google combination (nb: the hijack virus also affects IE but not Safari) - do you have a patch/fix that could rectify the vulnerability in your software?

I am having trouble with my Mac Mini's ethernet connection. Defining a new network interface shows no ethernet adaptor. Reloading SL from DVD repaired. But SL update lost ethernet again. Will Lion Fix?

I am having trouble with my mac mini ethernet. It had been working for weeks after an update to SL 10.6.8.
Once it went out and i repaired it by defining a new connection from System Preferences ->Network->(left panel service, +).
But yesterday, after a power up. my ethernet was not working again. I tried this old trick to repair it, but the interface choices
listed for '+' a new service did not include Ethernet any more. And the Utilities->System Profiler->Ethernet Cards shows
no ethernet available.
As a last ditch effort i reloaded my original SL from DVD. (I think it was version 10.6.4 but i could be mistaken on the version).
The ethernet worked! But KeyNote wasn't going to work because apparently the version i purchased depends on 10.6.8.
So I upgraded again to SL 10.6.8 (Plus some other updates like AirPort which i don't use).
Now the Ethernet is not working again. I see the same symptoms as before with the Ethernet seeming not installed.
Is this a problem seen by others?
Would going to Lion fix the problem?
Could AirPort actually be the culprit and not SL?
If i stay with my original SL, would i need to repurchase a version of KeyNote for the older version of SL?

Have you reset the SMC?
Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord.
Wait fifteen seconds.
Attach the computer's power cord.
Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on the computer.
While you're at it, resetting the PRAM won't hurt anything and 'might' help is SMC reset didn't work (PRAM does some port control):
Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.
Something else you might try .... you don't say how you're updating to 10.6.8, however, if you're using Software Update, you might try downloading the 10.6.8 combo update, which contains all updates to 10.6. Sometimes, Software Update doesn't work quite right, and installing the combo update fixes that. Download the update from Apple's download site at http://support.apple.com/downloads/ , using Disk Utility repair permissions, apply the combo update, then repair permissions again.

I am having trouble with some of my links having images. For example, Foxfire has a picture that looks like a small world. The links in question are blank.

My storage website has a blank broken box where the image should be. I forgot I had trouble and had to reset Foxfire, this problem occurred after that reset.

Mixed content normally gives the world globe image, unless you are using a theme that uses a broken padlock instead. Maybe the gray triangle means invalid? I came across that in a few themes (what is invalid was not made clear), but those were not using triangle shapes to indicate that.
