HD video Fonts. Crisp clean cut lines. No pixelation

Hello People! I'm hoping someone can help me figure my little problem out. I just got an internship at this media company and they are demanding.
They want videos with CRISP FONT TEXTS that are more appealing to the public.
The problem here is that I'm making the texts in Adobe Illustrator CS5 and then bringing them into Adobe Premiere. I'm not sure what file type to save the texts as, so I save them as Illustrator files.
When I bring them into Premiere and export them in a video, they come out pixelated and not nice looking.
Can someone please help me figure out how to keep the fonts super sexy and crisp looking for YouTube please?
Sincerely, BadBoyBoone

You can import them as AI files into Premiere. They do get rasterized.
For Youtube use a HD setting tweak the bitrate. The one you are showing is SD.

• Capturing Video to my final cut pro with lines showing up on the screen

I am capturing video to my computer using final cut pro and it looks like blinds on the screen. Two separate videos showing up in alternating lines. How can I fix it.
thanks
randall

This sounds like dirty heads.
I'd first try cleaning them. Then recapture.
However -- when you say 'lines'... do you mean WIDE lines or like one pixel lines you can only see if you stop the video and look really close?

• Cutting lines text in Illustrator?

I need cutting lines for text. When I use a font which has characters that are attached, the cutting lines ( menu Type > Create Outlines) of each character overlaps the other. How can I create cutting lines without this overlap?  Thanks very much!

But that is also possible Jacob without converting to outlines.
But this includes the inner shapes.
But we are both guessing what the original question was

• Need to add a cut line around text with a stroke

This has been driving me nuts for years and I've often found ways to "kind of" accomplish this, but I figured someone here might be able to help.
Create text, convert to outlines, add a stroke. Ok now I want to add a cut line around that entire thing so it's dye-cut out on vinyl. My cut line is just a stroke with a color defined in my pallet. I can create 2 strokes, but I can't figure out how to get one to go to the edge of the other. I also tried duplicating the image, creating just an outline, but it's impossible to get it exactly outlined by hand.
If I'm not explaining this right, please let me know.
So there I have the text, converted to outlines, white fill and gold stroke. I need to be able to dye-cut this. If you add a new stroke, it's on top of the old one. Basically I want to add a stroke, to the stroke, but only the outside.
Thanks in advance!!

Thank you Larry. I kind of followed what you said but I think there's some steps missing here?
I'm glad you showed me how to create additional strokes without creating outlines, I was never clicking above "character", I had to click above it to add a new stroke, if you have the text selected, it's greyed out.
Ok so I created a new stroke, then selected it, went to FX > Path > Offset Path. I chose 0.02 (closest I could seem to get, but not perfect, ok in some areas, bad in others), miter joins set to 4? Are those the same settings you used? You didn't tell me how much you offset yours. Then I selected the offset path stroke and went object > expand apperance, but it didn't seem to do anything? It just removed the offset path FX option on the stroke? This is where I'm pretty confused. Why even do the step after the offset, couldn't I just stop there and print?
After adding a stroke and offsetting
After selecting Object > Expand appearance.
As you can see, like on the C. There is a gap between the cut line and the stroke at the top, but there's no gap on the left side, but there is on the right, and there is on the bottom as well? If I printed this, I would get white fill, gold stroke, and then another white stroke basically.
Thank you for your patience, I'm self-taught but over the last 4 years of using it every day I'm still learning new tricks!

• New iPod Touch-want to load videos created using Final Cut Studio

I'm unable to transfer movies I create on my Mac into the iPod Touch. I'm assuming all transfers to the iPod need to go through iTunes - is this correct?
I created a video in Final Cut Pro, then compressed two versions of podcasts in Compressor.
H.264 for iPod video and iPhone 320x320(QVGA)
H.264 for iPod video and iPhone 640x640(QVGA)
I then dragged them into iTunes library, thinking they would go into the Podcast folder, but instead they went to the Movie folder.
I synced to the iPod, and they fail to transfer/load. I then selected "Create iPod or iPhone Version" from the iTunes "Advanced" menu in case there was some file issue, but was unsuccessful in dragging it to the Podcast folder.
Does the iPod Touch sync up to all iTune's folders, or, is it limited to what's in the Podcast folder?
Is there a utility that exists to verify the video files are of the correct format.
Are there other steps I am missing?

For anyone else in the same situation - videos created in Final Cut Pro and compressed using either of the Compressor settings will create podcasts that can be synced up and play on the iPod Touch,
The problem was the "Sync Movies" setting - it was disabled. The challenge was finding the settings, and wouldn't have been an issue prior to release of version 3.0 software upgrade notice.
The "Sync" settings were where I first looked, from within iTunes, but as I said, the device settings were being hidden by an "Apple commercial" for the version 3.0 software upgrade - once I clicked on "Remind Me Later" I was able to see the 8 tabbed configuration screen. I guess marketing trumps usability.

• Can't capture from my cannon video camera to Final Cut or iMovie.

Hi. I can't capture from my cannon video camera to FInal Cut or iMovie. ANy help would be greatly appreciated. I don't think my iMac is recognizing the camera. I was told I don't need a firewire, that USB would work if I'm just capturing. If I need a firewire what kind (the one I was sold didn't fit). I'm getting an "unable to locate external device message". Not sure of next steps to try. Thanks.

Forget USB for capturing from tape. USB is only for stills from a Tape Based camera.
You require a firewire cable.
The camera connection end will be four pin and the Mac is nine pin to the 800 port.
Ask for a 9 to 4 pin firewire cable. Sounds like you have the wrong one as they can also be 4 to 4 or 4 to 6 pin!!
Also you will need the correct Easy Setup in FCE so FCE talk to the camera, exactly which one depends on what type of footage is being sent to FCE from the camera during capture.

• Dropping on Premise AD for Azure AD post exch/lync offsite migration clean cut to new AD or Azure AD or both

Here is the scenario:
The current customer Domain as been active since NT, and has seen every version of Exchange.
The domain has also had multiple admins, each who gave it their 'golden' touch.  (Not a good thing, because the majority of them it appears had no clue what they were doing).
The domain supports 14 users.
Exchange and Lync have been moved off premise to a hosting provider. Exchange, Lync, CAS, Edge, Mediation have been sucsufully demoted and decom'd.
The network (AD) which because of a very complex, and 'tweaked' infrastructure is very problematic and time consuming to manage. It appears nothing of value outside of login  security is being used, including no wsus, no GP, etc.
The only items the network supports now outside of VERY basic FSMO ops (very like 'everyone' s allowed access to everyone's everything (yikes) is a SQL server using a shared folder old net application, a file server and an iis server. (IIS does NOT support
their current domain name/role)  Outside of server roles, AD is doing nothing with those servers. AD NEEDS to be doing what it was intended to do, but whenever something is changed, everything blows up. For example, I created a new group container,
nothing else, and a single shared folder stopped working, and two users were disconnected, nothing in the log files. Or a user who enters a password incorrectly three times is locked out. The admin unlocks the account which locks three other accounts.
Nothing in the log except a basic user locked out message. Like I said it's HOSED!
Originally my thought was to spin up a new DC for them, with a new/different domain (internal named)  for their small office and do a clean cut. Set up AD the way I want to that will benefit them with proper security, file shares, etc.
Question 1) What are your thoughts about this being a fix for a small office? If its a bad idea, why?
Question 2) Why not spin up AD in Azure instead of locally, or do they need a local AD syncing with Azure AD?
What is the best course of action that will bring them the most benefit over the next few years?

• Every video put into Final Cut Pro exports in horrible quality regardless of format/settings.

Hello fellow Mac enthusiasts,
I'm having a problem which may or may not have been plaguing my studio since day one. Every video that we edit in Final Cut Pro exports in MUCH lower quality than it was when it was imported, not only that, the file size of the newly exported video is several times the size of the original. What I end up getting is a file too large for our clients to email around. We recently had a client come into our studio with a flash drive full of 15 second avi's no larger than 900 KB, he wanted a few of them edited together with simple cross fade transitions, and even a few seconds of dead space cut out. He needed them to be the highest quality possible for a powerpoint presentation he may now be unable to give. At first I exported them as Uncompressed avi's, best quality, thousands of colors, and no sound. The resulting file was not only blurrier, but now 260.5 MB!! And that one was with zero edits! The original was 803 KB and crystal clear. So after that I decided to try a few tests. We also produce a bi-weekly hour-long local television show, which looks fine on television but now I'm wondering how much better it could and should look. I've been exporting that out as a Quicktime, Apple ProRes 442 HQ, Interlaced bottom-field-first, zero filters, both compressor native and NTSC 720 X 480. I attempted this method on the client's original 803 KB with zero edits and not only did it export a completely unusable video compared to the original, but it was now 57.1 MB. What is going on here? Is Final Cut conspiring against me? I'm guessing it's something in my settings which I'll shamefully admit I know absolutely nothing about. Could anyone help a struggling video editor do his job?
Joey

Hey guys sorry it took me song long to respond it's been a busy week filled with many things not relating to final cut...
In response to David's post, the original file is indeed larger than 720X480, though it's dimensions are not available to see in the 'more info' associated with the file itself. By comparison, the apple pro res LT file I exported through final cut of the same avi file is 720X480, and looks significantly worse.

This was after I created a new project, made the sequence settings into Apple ProRes lt 30p under the audio/video settings in Final Cut, and exported it as the same with 'current' dimensions (it was listed as 850X637, maybe that was the original?) Although I did have to render the original avi itself once it was placed in the timeline. I guess there's no way to know exactly what sort of avi my original file is so I can match my sequence to it? The 'more info' (to be fair im sort of used to 'properties') leaves something to be desired..
I guess my question is: what else can I change in my settings to leave the quality of the video intact, if anything?
Thanks everyone.

You seem to be new to this software, so I highly recommend that you take some time to learn it using some great tutorials available online - it will pay off to invest the time, if you follow through, for example the great (and free) introductory tutorial at izzyvideo.com.
This is an amazing piece of software, and you'll have a lot to learn, but it's well worth it.

• Does anyone know why- when I iport a one minute video project into Final Cut X from I Movie the resolution that looked alright in IMovie full screen becomes worst in final cut, full screen...but clear when it is in still position?

Does anyone know why- when I import a one minute video project into Final Cut X from I Movie the resolution that looked alright full screen in I Movie instantly becomes worst on full screen in Final Cut X...but clear again when I stop it to still position?

I'm new to video editing but I think I recall seeing an option in FCPX which lets you choose the video quality for the preview window. I think the window reduces the quality when playing back for performance reasons and so perhaps that is why it seems to have less quality when moved over to FCPX? Just a possibility, I'm sure one of the more experienced users can confirm or deny this theory.

• Missing cutting lines in print

When I printed a CD-inlay in former versions of iTunes, cutting lines were printed to make a precise cut to make an inlay for a slimline box. Since version 10.??? those cutting lines are disappeared. WHY? Does it make the update quicker/cheaper/better? Can anybody tell me WHY Apple let those 8 small lines out, and when Apple does give them back?

• Extending video layers across the time line simultaneously

Any one Know how to extend video layers across the time line simultaneously?
I have been working on a Video for a few days and have all the layers I need to make my video but when I came to start creting the clip on the timeline there was no promt asking me how long I want the clip to be. I want to extend all the layers on the clip to 21:10 seconds similtaniously. Ther is about 600 layers in numorous groups and I dont want to have to extend each layer across the time line to 21:10 seconds individualy?
can any one help?

it is currently lacking the ability to adjust the length using multiple layers at once. However that said, if you are done animating the layer individualy, you can select all layer (or a partial) and convert them to a smart object. That smart object can then be extended in time. Playing in photoshop maybe slower due to the smart object.

Please advise.
Thank you!

You might be able to at least color all the dark parts in black via Edit > Edit colors > Recolor art.
Maybe you can use it as well to color all the other parts in white (depends on how many there are and if it doesn't get too cluttered).
You might also try to use the magic wand tool to select stuff and then apply different colors.
