I Moved my tv and Macbook pro to another room and now my Hdmi will not work. It keeps saying no signal. Please help!

gfxCardStatus is a 3rd party product that you would have had to install. The fact that you are asking what gfxCardStatus is, most likely you have not installed it.
gfxCardStatus will have an entry in your menu bar. The letter displayed will reflect which graphic mode it is using. 'i' will be used if in Integrated Only.
If you did not install gfxCardStatus or similar utility, then chances are that is not an issue for you.

Since you say that the same connectors work on your other TV is suggests that the fault is not in the connectors but your Vizio TV. I would check the settings on the Vizio TV. Verify that is is set to receive HDMI input. Perhaps you or some one else has inadvertently changed them. Pressing the wrong buttons on a remote control device can do that. (I am assuming no changes were made in SYSTEM PREFERENCES>DISPLAYS)

Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.

The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.
If using Wifi/Airport...
Instead of joining your Network from the list, click the WiFi icon at the top, and click join other network. Fill in everything as needed.
For 10.5/10.6/10.7/10.8, System Preferences>Network, unlock the lock if need be, highlight the Interface you use to connect to Internet, click on the advanced button, click on the DNS tab, click on the little plus icon, then add these numbers...

Bring up the System Information via the Apple ➙ About this Mac ➙ More Information menu and check under the Hardware if the optical drive is recognized. Are you able to use the drive from the Finder? If not then it may be a hardware issue so try this: Intel-based Macs: Using Apple Hardware Test

IPad 2 wifi not working. Was working fine, now won't find the network. Any suggestions?

Help! Bought an iPad 2 for my mother, brought it to Scotland (from Chicago); initially worked fine. Wifi suddenly stopped working. Wn't find the network. My iPad 2 has no problems. Reset the network settings, did a hard restart, reset all settings, rebooted the router. Nothing's working. I'm returning to the U.S. In four days. Any help would be most appreciated.

Did your "hard restart" involve holding both buttons until the Apple logo appeared?
Are you sure that Airplane Mode is OFF?
The solution may be to swap iPads and leave the good one with your Mother. If you erase all content and settings on both, you can restore the good one from your Mother's computer.
When you get home you can do the same with the problem iPad and your computer. If you haven't sorted it out by then, take it to the Apple Store Genius.

My 7th gen nano was working fine, now no sound

And yes, I tried two different sets of ear buds and they were both pushed in all the way. It's worked fine for months, now this morning everything appears normal, but there is no sound output. Any ideas? Thanks!

I know you have a 7th generation and the article this information is from is for the 6th gen, but the steps should still apply. If you haven't already, I would run through the following:
Check the volume setting.
Try adjusting the volume by pressing the volume buttons.
Try another song or audio file.
Reset iPod by holding down the Sleep/Wake button and Volume Down buttons until you see the Apple logo appear.

Pod worked fine - now it's not... Need help.

Okay, this may sound foolish but I can’t seem to figure it out… Everything was working perfectly (PC – I tunes – Video - I pod). I took my I Pod to work and synced it to my I Tunes there (computer #2). At first I couldn’t access any of the songs but if memory serves me correctly, I just clicked Manually Manage Songs & Playlists and presto – I could access the songs.
I brought my I-pod home and synced it to my updated I-tunes and the I pod info is light grey and I can’t access anything from my I-pod (which by the way was updated).
I clicked automatically update all songs and playlists and still nothing. What do I need to do so I can access my I pod thru my computer?
--- I am authorized to use 3 computers out of the 5 that apple allows.

When you say your iPod info is light grey, do you mean that with the iPod connected, you see the iPod songs like this in iTunes? Grey text would indicate that your iPod is set for automatic update. Check your Preferences again, to access the iPod as you would like and to use it on multiple computers you need to put it into manual update.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

Premiere Elements 11, Windows 8, Was Working Fine, Now 'Has Stopped Working'

I have just finished a project successfully, burned a BluRay with acceptable result, then shut down for the night. While viewing the BluRay, I saw a couple of glitches I wanted to fix, and the menu did not appear, so re-opened the project this morning. Thinking a stop marker would fix the menu not re-appearing, I inserted one at where I thought the end of my video was. I then found an unnecessary clip at the end that had slipped by me, making the end of the video longer, and likely the problem with the main menu not coming back. I deleted the clip. I rendered, saved, and played, but the playback wouldn't start. I closed and restarted about 5 times, same result. Now, Premiere Elements does not start at all, I get the splash screen, then the Windows box saying the program has stopped working and Windows will be in touch with me when they find a solution. Any ideas? I de-selected a sound device in Control Panel while the program was running, but have undone that action and the program will not start. I appreciate the help.

ATR, thanks for the quick response. I tried some of your suggestions (from another related issue) in troubleshooting this one.
Good info on the stop marker, I will remove it.
Long story short, I have managed to re-install the program and get it to start. After the third time, the combination seems to be to Remove my preferences, Remove downloaded content, and Deactivate Product. I was reluctant to do the deactivation checkbox, I downloaded the program and was concerned about being locked out, Adobe thinking this was another illegal install.
I started the program gently (giving things a long time to load, light on the hard drive being the main indicator) and was able to reload the video that seemed to cause the problem. Rendered, played, edited, no problems at this point.
As to what may have caused the trouble initially, I'm not sure. I have speakers run off the analog onboard sound, with a microphone connected. I also have a USB headset w/ microphone that I use for narration and latenight listening. These devices don't seem to know about each other, and changing their status in Control Panel does not translate to a current Elements session. In Elements preferences, I enabled the analog speakers. From there, things went downhill. The sound wouldn't play, then the play would not start the video in editor, then the program would not start at all.
I really like this program so far. I used Elements 1 and 2 way back when (with a computer to end all computers) to get all of our VHS recordings onto digital media. I did some editing and made some videos, then got away from it for a few years. We started diving and I got a GoPro camera. It didn't take too long to figure out the computer I had wouldn't do it for the new video formats. So, I now have the computer to end all computers to take care of the task. This has been the first glitch I've had in Elements 11. I expected a great deal more trouble with Windows 8.
Anyway, thanks again. If I find a recurring issue here, I will be sure to post it.

WLC redirect was working fine, now it is going to the domain controller

WLC was going to https://1.1.1.1/login.html?redirect=google.com/ and worked beautifully for years.
All of a sudden the web browser is now going to: https://(my domain controller name/login.html?redirect=google.com/
I have to manually put in the 1.1.1.1 instead of my domain controller name to get them to the authentication page.
How do I fix?

First I'd check the WLC and make sure the VIP DNS name hasn't been changed.
Secondly it's possible a proxy was out in place, so I'd see of that happened as well

Elements 4.0 (MAC) was working fine, now it "Quits unexpectedly"...

PSE 4.0 had been working just fine, even with my limited knowledge of it. One day I tried to open it and got the error message "Application quit unexpectedly..." I tried to uninstall then reinstall and it still is not working. Is there something I need to delete somewhere to make this work correctly?
Further, when downloading pic from my camera, they are automatically loaded into iPhoto. Is there a way to load them directly into PSE?

First of all, for your quitting problem, go to your username>library>preferences folder and delete:
com.adobe.Photoshop.Elements.plist
PSE 4.0 Paths
PSE 4.0 settings
Opera preferences
Repair permissions and try again. If it still quits, go to applications>PSE>plug-ins>Import/Export and delete the adobe TWAIN driver.
For your second question, photos are not "in" PSE. They are wherever you put them. You can set PSE to open automatically when you connect a camera, but you will be working with the images still stored on the card--not a good idea.
if you mean you just don't want to use iphoto, you have two options:
1. Set Image Capture to open and use that to download your photos to the mac,
2. Set your computer not to open any program and you can just drag the images to the desktop and then put them wherever you want them.
Let me know which you prefer and I'll tell you what to do.

My external hard drive stopped working so I had a tech fix it by moving it to another case since the power supply is in the case. It was working fine till I started getting these messages saying USB over current device, my USB is drawing too much power.

I need to know how to rehabilitate the hub since it gets deactivated as soon as I plug the external drive. By the way the drive contains important information

Buy a drive or drive case that is not bus powered.
Look for help in MacBook Pro forums.
Helps to include what drive and drive case you used and switched to (you didn't need a tech).

FaceTime was working fine, now it doesn't. Any ideas?
