Please if any one can help me why it happens, Thanks in advance.

Are you sure you are talking about Oracle forms? Sounds more like an APEX-problem...

    Hi chevysales,
The logic is wrong. Go into Network Magic Options. On the General Tab, make sure that the following are not checked:
Do not add Network Magic Folders icon to Open/Save dialogs
Do not add commands to Explorer shortcut menus
Click OK and reboot the computer and see if gone.
I am running Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3 on my Wireless Computer and I checked the Right-click menu and don't have the options, when they aren't checked.

  • Menubar empty area custom menus

I'd like to put custom menus in menubar empty unused area.
FinderPop should do this, but it doesn't work for me, maybe because of some conflict that I don't know.
MaxMenus does it, but only for three menus (click, control-click and command-click), which makes me suspect another conflict. Moreover, MaxMenus is overpriced (30$!).
Is there any other piece of software to do what I wish?

    Open regedit
    Left hand menus click HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

    CURRENT CONTROL SET
    CONTROL
    CLASS

  • HP LaserJet 4050N set up using IP *SUCCESSFUL step-by-step guide*

I have had sooo many difficulties in attempting to set up my HP LaserJet 4050N using an IP address connected to my iMac via Ethernet… but tonight I have finally succeeded! So for the benefit of anyone else who is having difficulties here is a complete step-by-step guide to how I achieved it.
    1.
In ‘System Preferences’ in ‘Network’, I made sure that ‘Ethernet’ is set to the following:
    ‘Configure IPv4: Using DHCP’
    Two numbers are given:
    ‘IP Address’ and ‘Subnet Mask’
(you might need to click ‘Renew DHCP Lease’ by clicking ‘Advanced’ and under ‘TCP/IP’ clicking ‘Renew DHCP Lease’)
    WRITE BOTH OF THESE DOWN!
    2.
Go to ‘Applications’ folder and click on ‘Utilities’ and open ‘Network Utility’. Click on the ‘Info’ tab and from the drop-down menu select ‘Ethernet’.
The ‘IP Address’ should be the same as that given in the ‘Network’ settings panel for the Ethernet port.
    3.
On my HP LaserJet 4050N I went through the following menus:
Click the green ‘GO’ button until the display reads ‘Offline’
Click ‘MENU’ 7 times or until ‘EIO 2 JETDIRECT MENU’ shows
Press ‘ITEM’ button until ‘CFG NETWORKJ=NO *’ is displayed
Press ‘VALUE’ button until value reads ‘YES’
    Press ‘SELECT’
Press ‘ITEM’ button until ‘CFG TCP/IP=NO*’ is displayed
Press ‘VALUE’ button until value reads ‘YES’
    Press ‘SELECT’
Press ‘ITEM’ button until ‘BOOTP=NO’ is displayed (or press ‘VALUE’ button until value reads ‘NO’ and then press ‘SELECT’)
    Press ‘ITEM’ button until
‘IP BYTE 1=XXX’ is displayed and where I have put ‘XXX’ using the ‘VALUE’ button enter the first number of the ‘IP’ address given in ‘Network Utility’.
Repeat this procedure for ‘BYTE 2, 3 AND 4’ by using entering a value each time using the ‘VALUE’ button and then pressing ‘SELECT’ before finally moving onto the next ‘IP BYTE’ value using the ‘ITEM’ button.
After all of the ‘IP’ values have been entered pressing the ‘ITEM’ button will display ‘SM BYTE 1=XXX’ – this is the ‘Subnet Mask’ value. Follow the same process as for the ‘IP’ address and enter the values given in the ‘Ethernet’ pane in ‘Network’ under ‘System Preferences’.
After entering the final ‘Subnet Mask (SM)’ value (BYTE 4) press ‘SELECT’ and finally press the green ‘GO’ button.
As soon as the green ‘GO’ button has been pressed the ‘IP’ value in both ‘Network’ (under ‘System Preferences’) and ‘Network Utility’ (Applications/Utilities) will change to display a new ‘IP’ address. The ‘Subnet Mask’ value displayed in ‘Network’ (under ‘System Preference’s should display the same ‘Subnet Mask’ value).
    4.
    Now close ‘Network Utility’.
Click on the ‘SHOW ALL’ tab in the open ‘NETWORK’ window.
Click on ‘Print & Fax’ in ‘System Preferences’.
Click on the ‘+’ tab on the left of the ‘Printers’ Pane.
    Click on the ‘IP’ tab.
From the drop down menu ‘Select HP Jetdirect – Socket.’
Now in the Address field enter the ‘IP’ values that you entered in the printer (and that you wrote down earlier).
    Once entered click ‘Add’.
I really hope that what has worked for me works for anyone else who is struggling to set up their HP printer using IP over Ethernet. Please post any success.
    Kind regards
    Neil.

Thank you, Neil! Your instructions worked.
Several comments to clarify your instructions.
They mostly expose my simple minded understanding of computers....
    1. At the line in part 3 beginning with " ‘IP BYTE 1=XXX’ is displayed...", the 'XXX' means the first set of numbers before the first '.' in the IP address. For an IP address of '78.123.4.56', that means '78'. You push the 'VALUE' button many times if the number is three digits. IP Byte 2 for the same IP address is '123'. Etc.
    2. When you have finished all the steps, it works! What a relief.
The printer will appear in the print dialog box as an IP address.
3.You can change the name of the printer if you want.
    Go to System Preferences>Print&Fax
Select the printer. (it is listed by its IP address number)
On the right side of the box will appear several buttons.
One button is 'Options & Supplies'. Click it.
    Another box will drop down.
Choose 'General' from the 'General / Driver / Supply Levels' buttons at the top of the box.
The name of the printer will be defaulted as the IP address.
Type in whatever name you want for the printer
    Click 'OK'
    4. It may be possible to go one step further and connect the HP LaserJet 4050N
printer to the computer through an airport express, but I have
had enough frustration the past two weeks that I am not that curious. Yet.
    Once again, thank you Neil!

How do i change the text in a submenu diffrent than the page name? I want it wrap into two lines or be a diffrent title but i can't figure out how to make any changes to the text.

    Hello,
Text in Menu/Submenu canno tbe changed while using menu widget. However, if you use the Manual Menu option, then you can create your own Menu and add the hyperlinks according to your requirement.
To create Manual Menu, please follow the steps below :
    1) In the Widget palette, go to "Menus" click and drag "Vertical/Hrizontal" into your artboard/workspace
    2) Click on the widget itself to a blue arrow appears to the right
    3) There is a drop down called "Menu Type" set it to "Manual" (as shown in screenshot) :
    4) Now You can create your own Menu and add your own text and hyperlink to  this Menu.
    Hope this helps.

  • Managing Color with LR and the Canon Pixma Pro 9000 10.1.2.0 printer driver

I would like help understanding how to manage color in LIghtroom with the Canon Pro 9000 10.1.2.0 printer driver. When I ask LR to manage color in the Printing Module Color Management Profile, it warns me to turn off the printer managing color. But I cannot find where to do this in the driver.
The Color Options menu in the driver gives an additional choice for "Color Mode", but there are no choices here except "Standard", "Linear" or "Tone". The only Canon documentation I can find shows a choice to turn off printer management here, but this driver doesn't give me that choice.
If I look in the driver's "Color Matching", I see only two choices: ColorSync or Vendor Matching. ColorSync brings up Canon profiles like "Pro9000 Fine Art Photo Rag", but selecting one of these gives a warning of unexpected results. This pushes me back to Vendor Matching. But is this turning off the printer driver and leaving it to Lightroom?
Right now, I am getting the best results from choosing "Managed by Printer" in LR's Color Management Profile, and setting "Color Matching" in the Canon driver to "Vendor Matching". If I instead choose one of the Canon profiles in LR's Color Management Profile (and it tells me to turn off the printer managing, which I cannot do), then my prints have a slightly bluer color cast.
Is there a way to turn off the printer managing color in this driver and turn this over to LR, or am I getting the best results possible with the printer managing color anyway?
I am using a 2.4 GHz Intel iMac with OS 10.5.4, 2 gigs SDRAM, standard ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro video card. I downloaded the Canon printer driver from their website, so I assume this is the latest. there is another driver available at their website, but for a lower bit depth. Should I abandon the 10.1.2.0 for this other one? I work with Nikon D300 NEFs, and I assumed the higher bit depth printer driver will work better with these images.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Dear DYP: Unfortunately, those choices are not available in the 10.1.2.0 Canon Printer driver. There are only 2 radio buttons, ColorSync and Vendor Matching. ColorSync then provides a drop-down menu, with no choice for turning off the printer driver.
But I think I found the answer. I found a deeply buried FAQ on the Canon site (no direct URL; sorry!) Here it says:
"Issue: How do I disable the printer driver color correction when using the CUPS driver in Mac OS X 10.5.x?
Solution: Change color management options for printing (Mac OS X 10.5.x)
Change color management options for printing
Open the document you wish to print.
Click 'File' and then click 'Print.'
Note: If the Print window contains only two pop-up menus, click the triangle beside the Printer pop-up menu for expanded options.
Select 'Color Matching' from the Print Options pop-up menu.
Select 'ColorSync' if you want the application you are using, and not the printer driver, to control the color management of the printed output.
Note: If you are using Adobe Photoshop CS2 or CS3 and have selected 'Let Photoshop Determine Colors', the 'Color Matching' from the Print Options pop-up menu is automatically set to 'ColorSync.'
Select 'Vendor Matching' if you want the printer driver to control the color management of the printed output."
I tried it, and chose "Automatic" as a choice in ColorSync. The choices under "Color Options" are then greyed out, implying that the Canon driver is now turned off.
The prints came out great, with no color cast, and a little brighter than the printer managed prints.
So, Vendor Managed means printer manages, ColorSync means LR manages.
Thanks, everyone, for keeping me going on tracking this down!

  • Link to a file in a drop down menu

    Hello
I have about 30 Pdfs to upload to my website, instead of just listing them I wanted to use a drop menu. I have worked out how to create the menu, but I don't know how to make the items active. So that when you click on them a PDF automatically downloads?
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

    You're welome.
In Muse there are really only two options: Vertical and Horizontal, pick whichever one suits you, but with 30 documents to link, I think vertical might be the way to go.
    1) In the Widget palette, go to "Menus" click and drag "Vertical" into your artboard/workspace
    2) Click on the widget itself to a blue arrow appears to the right
    3) There is a drop down called "Menu Type" set it to "Manual"
    4) Name the widget whatever you like; i.e. "Documents to Download; $9.95"
    5) Click the widget again till you see little grey boxes with crosshairs appear - these will allow you to add submenus - either to the right or below. These, for example can end up being the names your documents to download, with a link as descibed above in each one.
To add another submenu to create a long list of 30, right click on the submenu element itself and so it's highlited in a blue dashed line. Right Click. Choose "Insert Element"
    6) OR if you want to menu itself to be one long list of documents without any submenus coming out the bottoms or sides you can always do the following:
    7) Right click on the widget till it says "Insert Element". Click on this. You will then get another menu box like the one you have and you can just stack these and create links in each one to your PDF documents
    8) Either way will work depending on how you want the page to look and behave. You can also use this technique to create links to other pages as well - which is what it was originally intended for, but it can make an excellent way to organise downloadable documents.
Hope that helps, let me know if you run into any hiccups.

  • Cant update software Powerbook G4 with Mac OS x 10.3

I can't download my software updates. mailnly the one that is called : Mac OS X update Combined 10.3.9. My machine model is Powerbook 5.2. Im running Panther. But I have the cd for 10.4 Tiger. I bought this comp. on ebay from someone. i think i got a bad one not sure. First time I have had a mac. bought for my son for christmas. can anyone PLZ HELP ME. i tried to download software over 10 times it tells me this:: write to /tmp/501/temporary items/com apple software. what do i need to do? i even put the 10.4 in here and tried to update software and samething happen. So i just went back to the pather 10.3 . Frustrated with my mac if anyone could plz help. Greatly appreciated. I want to download my ilife 06 in my mac for garageband for my son cause he plays music. but it wont cause of the software updates wont work. Thanks Happy Holidays

Are you actually able to use the computer at all?
Do you have a second computer for use online, while you try and see if you can
    make this PowerBook G4 work?
If you could start the computer from the Panther install disc #1 (C-key held on start)
instead of installing anything, note in the Install window, at perhaps the second
screen in the desktop-like window appears with Installer in the header, you can look
into the menus; click on and see what drop-down menus have on them. If you can
find Utilities or Disk Utility, run that. See if you can get that far, and if that opens, the
Disk Utility's left side area will show Macintosh HD and also another item that is the
name of the company who made the hard disk drive that Mac HD is on. Choose
the name of the hard disk drive brand, (click once on it) then choose the option in
    Disk Utility, to Repair Disk.
There will be a report in the second box in Disk Utility if the utility can be used to
attempt a fix on the Mac HD. And if there is a repair report, and it says Repaired, go
ahead and run that same Repair Disk, again.
Then, choose (click on) the Macintosh HD name, & choose to Repair Disk Permissions
on that volume. When done, Quit Disk Utility, from the menu bar; and then look under
the Installer menu when that re-appears, and there look to find a Startup Disk or choice
to restart the computer from its hard drive.
When the computer is restarted and not running off the Panther installer disc#1, you can
see about using the built-in Disk Utility (see GO in finder) and the Utilities folder should be
there, select it, and go to Disk Utility, launch it and click on Mac HD, then choose 'repair
disk permissions' from this D.U. When it is done, quit Disk Utility.
If there is no problem, hardware failure, damaged hard disk drive, or too much stuff stored
on there, the computer may work better. If the drive is too full, then old user files have to go.
Does the failure of the Combo 10.3.9 update for
Panther occur in the downloading of it? Or after
the file is downloaded on the desktop?
Do you have a dialup internet connection, or how
do you go online with your computers? A slow
connection may take a long time or drop out if
you have dialup. An incomplete file may result.
If the Panther system won't work, and can't be updated, then the Tiger 10.4 installer disc may
be the only choice to continue to try and make that computer work. That is involved and does
require booting the computer from that disc.
And using Disk Utility in the Installer's menubar plus find its Options to erase the drive, and do
that; you can have the Utility secure overwrite one-pass zeros, and reformat to HFS+. Be sure
the name of the reformatted hard drive is the same as it was, Macintosh HD; and the kind of
format HFS+ and it says Apple Partition Map.
You can then quit the Disk Utility and with the Installer disc still running the computer, you
can run the Installer, to install the easy version of Tiger 10.4. At this point in time, the hard drive
would be erased, zeroed, reformatted & empty except for that reformat. And defragmented.
Ready for an all new install.
The Tiger retail disc does not contain iLife apps, and is just the main installation of 10.4; if this
path is taken, the older Panther apps and stuff would not be on the computer and the apps on
discs from Panther would not install into Tiger.
The use of a demo-trial run of Pacifist could be downloaded and used to extract applications
from the Panther installer discs that have apps. AppleWorks, iPhoto, & a few others may do OK.
So, since you bought the computer on ebay and had no way of knowing it would work (fully) or not
you are taking a chance again in trying to resolve issues as you've found them.
Sorry to hear of such a fate so close to the holiday and few if any options to resolve issues
of this level over this time of the year...
Sometimes, for the cost of a computer on ebay a selective person can find a better deal on one that
has been repaired and guaranteed; a few online companies do that for a living and have a good rep-
utation built up over years of providing service. Does the auction site offer recourse on this item?
    Best wishes & regards.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • No "goto" menu on nokia 6120

I have recently upgraded my phone from a 6230i to a 6120, which is all in all a great phone but I miss very much the goto menu on one of the selection keys. I know you can set up the "active standby" shortcuts but have found out that it is kinda clumsy as i can only assign 6 shortcuts but i need more and i'm used to having each of the navi keys a shortcut to something plus the goto menu where i have some more stuff.
For example this is what i have assigned:
    up: clock
    down: contacts
    left: new sms
    right: calendar
    central selection: menu
    left selection: messages
    - (although would like to assign inbox here but it's not possible?)
    right selection: notes
    - but would like to have "goto menu" here with:
notes, bluetooth, usb, calculator, some other apps...
So, this all makes more than 6 shortcuts, and having them on each navi key is faster accessible than going through the "active standby" list - takes more button pressing.
I guess a separate "goto menu" application could be installed that would take care of this functionality but can't find any.
Is anyone aware of such application?

There is on the N80, but it's pretty useless as it only has 3 predefined options (Calendar, Inbox and Notes) that can't be changed. You get to it from menu .. my own .. goto.
I'm a bit confused about what you mean by up/down etc options on Stand by.
If you have Stand By enabled, you should be able to configure the six shortcuts across the top of the screen (well, just below the clock and network info), plus the two soft keys, giving 8 options.
You should then be able to configure at least 5 options in the Multi-media menu - the N80 has up, left, right, centre, centre-and-hold but the N95 has 10.
That gives you at least 13 options in all.
If that's not enough, you could move frequently used items to the main menu - ie: the list you get when you press the menu button.
To do this, find the icons in the sub-menus, click options, select "move to folder" then select "menu".Message Edited by patc on 05-Nov-200711:56 AM

  • Wnm Not Authenticated on backup radius

    Hi,
I have a WLSE with 2.12 version firmware and AP 1210 serie with 12.3(7)JA firmware. I have several site location with 2 radius server (a main and a backup).
When I turn off the main radius server, to make test, all the AP go to the backup to register. But the WNm status stay on Not Authenticated. ow can I do to change the status to Security Keys Setup ?
I hope you understand me. Thanks for helping me.

Step 1 Browse to the Wireless Services Summary page
Step 2 Click WDS to browse to the WDS/WNM Summary page.
Step 3 On the WDS/WNM Summary page, click Settings to browse to the WDS/WNM Settings page
Step 4 Check the Use this AP as Wireless Domain Services check box.
Step 5 In the Wireless Domain Services Priority field, enter a priority number from 1 to 255 to set the priority of this WDS candidate. The WDS access point candidate with the highest priority number becomes the acting WDS access point.
Step 6 (Optional) If you use a Wireless LAN Solutions Engine (WLSE) on your network, check the Configure Wireless Network Manager check box and enter the IP address of the WLSE device in the Wireless Network Manager IP Address field. • IPhone trying to mate with Microsoft wireless mouse.

I know this is hard to believe, but when my iPhone is within 2 feet of my Dell PC, I can move the cursor on the computer. But once the iPhone realizes that it has a captive audience it starts moving through menus, clicking, moving to new items. I thought I was under attack or that the microsoft wireless mouse was going ballistic.
This doesn't happen on any of my apple products. The fix is just to keep these two animals separated.

If you drag to another folder it moves.  If you drag to another disk, it copies.
This can be modified by certain control keys:
    Command key while dragging
Move dragged item to other volume/location (pointer icon changes while key is held--see this article)
    Option key while dragging
Copy dragged item (pointer icon changes while key is held--see this article)
    Option-Command key combination while dragging
Make alias of dragged item (pointer icon changes while key is held--see this article)

  • My new post tab disappeared in my wordpress dashboard after I downloaded firefox 4

I have 2 blogs on WordPress, and when I had Firefox 3, I had a tab/button in the dashboard where I could go in and hit New Post and the whole dashboard was the page for a new post. Now that I have Firefox 4, that tab/button has disappeared and all I have for new posts on my WordPress blogs is what's called QuickPress, which is a small box off to the upper right hand side of the dashboard with limited room for writing/editing. There is no way that I can see to get that NewPost tab/button back from WordPress, so I'm thinking it must be something that Firefox 4 has disabled somehow. I am NOT happy about this, this has made my blogging more difficult as it's harder to see what I'm typing in that small box, I have to scroll and scroll in order to edit, and when I'm trying to copy and paste large amounts of text, well, you get the point. Is there any way to fix this, short of uninstalling Firefox 4 and reinstalling Firefox 3?

The new interface is only default on Windows Vista and Windows 7. To get it on Windows XP you need to hide the menu bar. To do that in the View menu select Toolbars, then click on the "Menu Bar" entry.
If you need access to the menus you can press either Alt or F10 to temporarily display them.
To make an app tab, right-click on a tab and select "Pin as App tab"
The access the add-ons manager, if you have hidden the menus, click the Firefox button then select Add-ons. If the menus are visible, in the Tools menu select Add-ons.
