Open Audio Midi Setup in Applications>Utilities, see the input & output options & KHz setting there, some things will change it for their own use, then not set it back.

Hi cb-anc! Thank you for replying to my question. The Library application has disappeared,not the library folder. I went into the application a couple of days ago to trash some plist files and now the application has disappeared. I haven't upgraded to Lion but am still on now Leopard.

For Windows Support Software: the download size is around 600MB - 1GB. Depends on your Mac Model. There are server problems but a good idea is to check from iStat menu's or something else if there is some activity.
Also, make sure that in your network settings:
Uncheck Automatic Proxy Detection
Uncheck Passive FTP Mode

hi there everyone, sorry I'm new to this and probably in the wrong place. But hope someone is kind enough to help me. When I place disk one in I put in the serial code and everything pops up and looks good however, when I want to download the only one I can select to put on my computer is Acrobat non of the other programs will select. it'll download that fine then says complete then an exit button. I hope someone can see if there's something I'm doing wrong or if you think I've got faulty disks, this is a student version.. (not sure this makes a difference but thought I better say just incase.)

Hi - I bought the student version through my college and was so EXCITED! Then it took me over 8 hours (and much of that on the phone to Adobe support) to get the suite installed.
In the end it turned out we had to stop all the Microsoft and Windows processes in Task Manager during the installation - something to do with 64-bit vs 32- bit (I have a 64-bit version of Vista running)
This was scary to me as I do not like to mess with Task Manager in case I mess something up...
I would not reccommend doing this just on my say-so without getting more help, but it could give you a starting place for asking more questions.
I will say, that although it took what seemed like forever, and at times she seemed as stumped as I was, the woman at the Adobe end of the phone was very patient and helpful.

A few things:
First, please read this before your next post:

Second, are you actually ending input with Control-C? I believe that will result in the program exiting before all your output is written.
Third, your program does not actually store any data in "lettersCatched" after your "tryToRead" method ends. That's because before that method ends, lettersCatched will be set to null. With each line, lettersCatched is re-set. You probably want to be storing each line in a StringBuffer or something to store lines of input.
Fourth, I think you really mean to use the word "cache", not "catch". A cache is a store of information.

If there's an error message of conversion, are you sure that the 1st and 2nd columns returned in the result set are of type string & integer respectively (try getObject, then see what it's an instanceof)? Just guessing, maybe the actual database fields don't match the types you're expecting.
And why don't you try ex.printStackTrace() to see what the actual error is in the getOb method?
