Help Deciphering an error code

My computer (Mac Pro early 2008 with 10.7.5) has crashed randomly a few times recently. The latest time I couldn't get the monitor to wake up and so I had to restart, and when I did, the computer would chime and then restart and chime again every 1 or 2 seconds after the restart. When I finally got it back up, this is the error code I got. See below.
While I was trying to type this question, the screen went black again, and wouldn't come up when I restarted it. When I went to restart again, i just had to push the power button quickly and it shut right down (rather than having to hold it for 3 or 4 seconds or so typically). Also, it was making an odd chirping sound while trying to restart.
I recently had to replace the graphics card and bought an NVidea Quadro fx5600 which was one of the upgrades when I bought the computer originally. Don't know if there is an issue there or something new. Please help if possible.

Let's start with the support page for your computer. Go there and click on the "Show All" link.
Get the updates labeled "Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility", and "nVidia 64MB GeForce4 MX 420 w/TV Out".
You have the latest firmware for that drive.
If that doesn't help, come back because I see something I would remove from your lower filters.

I have been having issues with my (early) 2008 iMac display / graphics cards for a while now. Took it to the Genius bar the other day to find that it is now legacy and they won't touch it with a barge pole.
I have already reset the NVRAM and SMC more times than I care to remember and I have scoured the console logs for some clues as to what could be up.
The issue runs as follows.
Turn on iMac from cold.. start up ok.
After approximately 10 minutes, the display drops to black, BUT the fans etc still run in the background but the machine is NOT in sleep mode as a: (for the purposes of testing this issue) my energy preferences are now set to NEVER go to sleep and b: the machine doesnot or cannot "wake" from the sleep state with keyboard or mouse commands so in order to restart the machine I need to hold the power button for 10 seconds then turn back on.
The machine was on Mavericks when the issue began but I down graded to snowleopard on a clean install and it has not altered since that.
The machine passed whatever hardware test the Genius performed, and no obvious interupts were in the console log.
It was suggested that it might be a bad memory stick so I downloaded and installed Memtest but have been unable to run it successfully or otherwise as it takes longer than the approximate 10 minutes that the display appears to want to stay on for. As a result I tried using the machines original install DVD to run AHT and YAY! a fault code.
I have managed to find info that tells me that it is a Sensor failure but that is all.
Is there anyone out there that can help me decipher the rest of the code? Does anyone else know which sensor it might be?
Any help along those lines would be much appreciated.

An error code of 4SNS/1/4000000: TGOH indicates a problem with the GPU overheating or the GPU temperature sensor failed or disconnected. Either will require that you take your iMac to an authorized service center, many of whom will usually can service obsolete Macs even though they may not be able to order parts from Apple, for a complete diagnosis and appropriate repair.

Although I am able to play cds and bootable discs, I am unable to play dvds on my LaCie d2 DVD-RW Firewire Drive. I get an error code:
a valid dvd drive could not be found -70012
Is anyone able to help? I did see one other post listed with this error code, but that person's results seem to be no longer valid, with outdated links for patches.

It's possible that you caused some damage by not "properly" doing the firmware update, but drives with bad firmware typically just don't work, period. Unfortunately, LaCie does not keep the older firmware posted on their site so that you could 'back-flash' the drive to an earlier firmware revision and then re-apply the updated firmware.
If you have access to a PC that you could put the drive into (as in, removed from the LaCie external enclosure) and know the drive type (the NEC ND-35xx is the most common) you could find older firmware and flashing utilities for the PC, flash the drive to one of those and then drop it back into the LaCie enclosure and flash it back to the current LaCie firmware. No guarantees this will work, though, and you may end up with a totally dead drive.

I am having a problem with Logic Express. Certain song files (not all) will not open. I get the "Error Code -1 was returned by the CoreAudio driver" dialog box, then Logic Express crashes.
I don't want to lose any of these songs.
Here is the pertinent info for diagnostics:

About a year ago I obtained a six month demo of Logic Pro (with an XKey dongle). The time has expired but I haven't gone through my system to delete everything from the Logic Pro install (and didn't want to accidentally toss out something Logic Express might need).
I ran searches here on this forum and Google and did not find any workable solutions.

Strange. I just went into the Library/Audio/Plug-ins/Components folder and thew out the older versions of VW and GR (as listed above) plus an old demo of Amplitude that I never ended up using. Now the files seem to be opening up. Does anyone have an explanation so I might understand just what happened?

Thanks for your help. There were two issues in it:
1 - The Firewall and Antivirus program - stoped the firewall and exit anti virus
2 - In service manager when I gave the IP address of the machine instead of "local" and click Set it worked.
Finally, when I ran my web application it was connected successfully.
Suggestion: SAP Business One development team should update the scree of Service Manager. If you dont click on the "Set" button it doesnot start communication. Although you have imported the license file it still remains the same. The Import license File button and Connect button should remain disabled unless the Server Name and Port Numbers are set.

I've to say that you better back up all your data by taking the HDD out from its bay and connecting it to another PC using SATA to USB adapter before proceeding with factory reset.

Like many I experienced some issues when updating to iOS 5 (on launch day). I finally gave up on the Update option and chose the Restore option.
iOS 5 downloaded and installed without issue. I restored from Back Up and everything was in place. No errors.
If you are updating, try using Restore instead.

Well that was a long winded Subject line but I am a technical individual ... but know PC's and learn the Mac world which I have fallen in love with.

I am feeling like this likely a hard drive problem but not certain. I was trying to find what this error code meant and havent any luck yet so I thought I would try and post here. If I could find the error codes it woul dbe helpful. But if you have any ideas please help me out.
I have had session lock up where I can not do anything but move the mouse, totally frozen sessions, as well as boot ups.
One of the things I did earlier was run the TechTools System Tools that came with my Imac. It said everything was fine. So confused with what is wrong.

For an iMac 24 inch (Early 2008) 3.06 GHz machine, the 4MOT error code* indicates a fan issue, and recommends that a technician…
• shut down, the power back on and retest the machine
• verify that the fan speed indicator is not a zero value (yours is reporting a 3)
Without special tools and substantial experience, and because doing so would require opening your machine and thereby invalidating its existing warranty, they indicate that a technician should…
• verify that the fan blades are not obstructed by cables, tape or other obstacles
• verify that the fans are properly connected to the logic board and rotate when the machine is started
• if the problem persists, replace the fans and retest the machine
• if it still persists, replace the logic board
While HDD is a commonly used abbreviation for hard disk or hard drive, there is no Apple Hardware Test error indicator for a hard drive for this particular platform, and yours does not relate to one based upon that AHT result. While there may be a sensor issue in play, AHT does not report a sensor issue in your case.
You may wish to run the SMART diagnostics against your drive to see if it indicates an impending failure, but what you report is limited strictly to fan operation. You should take your covered machine into a dealer or service provider in order to have it tested and repaired under warranty.
*NOTE: these error codes are often non-unique, and can mean very different things from one model series to another, and—within one product family—from one specific machine type to another.

I refilled the HP cartridges in my Photosmart C 7250 All-in-One and put them in and got this error. I have D/C power,etc and it still comes up with this error code. Now what?

Someone please help!! error code (-23) when trying to DL and install ios4

i updated my 3GS phone earlier with no trouble.....my fiance' just upgraded to iTunes 9.2 and when it was downloading, he got a message saying "There was a problem downloading the software for the iPhone. An unknown error has occured (-23)......can someone please tell me what to do next so we can get his iphone updated?! thanks so much!!
