HELP!!!! EXPORT CUT IN HALF!!!

Whenever I export (I have been exporting in HD so far) the export has a black bar covering half of it. I don't think it does this with SD video, but I need to export in HD. I only export with it compressed as H.264 so that could also be it. Can anyone help or has anyone had this problem? Thanks in advance!

A common problem. You could export in another codec like Animation, then transcode to H264 in Quicktime or Compressor.

Macbook air battery cut in half after Mavericks upgrade- help?

Hey everyone,
I have a mid-2013 MBA that would get 10-12 hours of life, on average, with ML. After upgrading to 10.9 though, the battery life has been cut in half. Not only that, but the battery still drains when I have the lid closed and runs hot inside of my bag. This used to never happen before. I have performed SMC and PRAM resets multiple times and I am almost at my wits end. I travel extensively and I purchased this MBA specifically to not worry about my battery life! Quick note, I have not installed any new programs since the OS update and my usage has remained consistant.

I don't think so. App Nap seems to be in place for all of my programs. Recently, I have resigned to removing chrome and my anti-virus software. Unfortunatly, this did not really solve the problem. It extended my average battery life by MAYBE an hour or so, however, I am still seeing significant battery drains and laptop heating when the lid is closed. I have resigned to taking my laptop in soon. I have attatched another etre check output though if you wish to see an updated log:

I make videos using my go pro hd camera, but when i export it only half of my 3 min video shows up with the audio playing in the background, plus when i try to select the quality in the export options it won't let me select 720p or 1080p?????? help!!!

What you could do now is break up your video into smaller parts and render them out, then assemble them again as a whole.
I know this is not the best fix, but it might work.
You can duplicate an edit in the main screen, then delete the last bits and export,
do the same for the other half.
Then import the two bits (or more if you need) in a new edit.
Out of curiosity, can you post what format the video is in?
Copy a video straight from the camera to your computer.
Open it in Quicktime player, and with out playing type Apple + i
or Control + i for PCs
It should tell you lots of info about the video, and might help us to see what is wrong.

Browser cuts off half of table and contents? Help please.

Hi,
When viewing the page using some versions of IE7, the area
where the Virtual tour viewer is and anything within the same table
is cut in half ! I never even noticed it as I test on a laptop and
desktop, both running IE7 and Firefox and there were no problems.
Got 3 emails of totally different people asking where the other
half of the page is, plus a friends browser does it also.

The virtual tour viewer in the iframe, thumbnails and links
are in the first big table. This gets cut in half approx after the
text for each thumbnail so anything to the right is just white. No
flash/quicktime logos and only half the viewer shows. It still
works though loading the default panorama!
The big table below holding regular still images with the
black background displays correctly. Very strange.
Does any one else only see half the table or know what may be
causing it to happen? The most obvious thing would be the iframe
but this has happed with some of the other pages also and they have
no iframes on them.

I see and It only prints half the photo? Interesting...
What i would suggest doing is this,
- go to the page/photo on face book where you are trying to print/save from
- right click on the Photo and ""Save As"", now i would recommend saving them in the " My Pictures" from within the "My Documents" folder
-Once saved, go ahead and open them up (Pictures) from within the Folder and not the website, unfortunately, it sounds like the web site is not allowing the full command/picture to be sent through, but being a 3rd party Site We cannot be sure..
-that is what i would advised to get those to Print Fully and to your Expectations

.wmv's getting cut in half horizontally inside Premiere Pro, AE, Media Encoder...

Hello everyone! I'm having an issue using .WMV's within Premiere Pro, AE, and the Media Encoder. Whenever I open the image in a sequence or the source window, the image is cut in half horizontally (see pic below). I brought in an MP4 and had no issues so at the moment I think I have narrowed down to strictly a .WMV problem. The file plays perfectly fine in realtime; audio sounds great, picture (of what I can see) looks good; I am just missing the top half of any WMV file hehe. I have tried the WMV inside AE as well but have the same issue. I also tried to export the WMV with Media Encoder but it exports the WMV cut in half no matter what format I tell it to conver the file to..
My Premiere Pro, AE, and Media Encoder are fully up to date; my Nvidia 660 Ti is up to date; I just installed latest Windows 7 codec package; Just installed newest Windows 7 x64 updates.
Also, this is a big one to note...This is the first time I have used Premiere Pro/AE/Media Encoder on this system. I just built this PC about 1 month ago and have had 0 problems with it across other programs (Photoshop, 3ds max, etc..) I just recently installed Premiere, AE, Media Encoder on it and am running into this problem upon my first bootup of Premiere/AE/Media Encoder.
My system specs are posted below the picture and file specs.
The pic below shows my setup and the issue I am having. The video of Finding Nemo on the left is the .MP4 (specs on file are below) and the video on the right is the .WMV in question (specs also below.)
I have tried multiple WMV's of different bit rates, etc, and all of them do this "cut in half thing.." No issues with other file types though!

After upgrading to ios6, my battery life is cut in half.

Battery life has been cut in half after upgrading. Sometimes, when taking phone out of the case, it's very hot & the battery is almost gone even though it hasn't been used since charging.

I would have to agree. I think that the update is affecting some users. I am guessing you are using a touch. I boutght mine a year ago, it had i4 on it, after the update to i5 i noticed a vast improvment on the battery life. After the update to i5 (which igmackenzie) has nothing to do with how you updated it, wi-fi or hard wired, as long as it takes you are good. It does seem that for some reason, i5 has a finiky issue when it comes to correctly updated apps (i5 ready) and the app store crashing. (have updated about 75% of mine and the issue seems to have resovlved its-self.)
As a long time user of this site for issues i am having and a long time mac user, will you please keep your opinions out of it. this is a help site, for people to remedy issues. NOT a blog for user forum. Appleinsider has a great place for you to discuss your OPINIONS, as for your HELPFUL advice, that is greatly appreciated. But it does appear that the user basically figured it out on their own.

Why does my itunes downloaded song cut off half way through the song

I downloaded a Jorney song "Seperate Ways" only to find out that the song cuts off half way through. What should i do?

I'm having this exact problem now with an iPhone 4 (not the 4S) and running software 6.1.3 with iTunes version 11.0.4.4. - The songs play fine in iTunes. In some instances I brought in the songs from CDs, in other instances I purchased from the iTunes store meaning I can't simply convert them. In either way they play silence on my iPhone around halfway through and for the remainder of the track.
I have attempted a full restore from a backup, and then reloaded all of my music, same songs, same problem. I don't feel a manual restore would help because that means reprogramming every single app, and the music would be reloaded the same way so what difference could that make?
Just to add insult to injury my protection plan ran out about 2 weeks ago and my phone otherwise works fine, so this can't possibly be worth purchasing another pricey plan just to be allowed to TALK to Apple.

Battery life cut in half all of the sudden

The battery in my macbook pro would last about 4 and a half hours browsing the internet and watching some youtube videos. but oddly just this morning after i unplugged it, it only lasted about 2 and half hours. I hadnt done anything but browse a few websites and watch some youtube videos. i tried draining the battery, and then recharging, but it didnt work.
the battery has been running hotter than normal lately, so the fan has been running more often as well. i thought maybe the fan constantly running would be the reason for the battery life issue, but would the fans really cause my battery life to be cut in half? i didnt have this problem this past summer, when temperatures were in the 80s and 90s and my macbook was hot all the time, the battery would still last normally.
what should i do about this?

ive done that. no unusual programs are running. and about watching youtube videos. why would it last 4 hours yesterday, and now. while doing something like browsing a website, something that should consume less battery. it only last 2 hours?

MS Word - words get cut in half at the end of line

I am doing English editing of a Word document written in Korean and then translated by someone. I am using MS Word 2011 for Mac. I have to edit about 60 of these documents, each is about four pages.
I edited about eight of them without any problems of formatting.
Then with the last four of them, I noticed that the words at the end of the line would get cut in half with one half of the word appearing at the end of one line, and the second half of the word appearing at the beginning of the next line.
I don't know how to fix this.
The documents have macro with them. Could that be the problem? Before, I was asked whether I wanted to turn on macros or not, and I chose "No" initially, and then I switched to "Yes". Now even though I went into preferences and chose "Warn me before opening macros", the documents open without this opening message.
I don't know what to do. I know Hangeul (Korean) is written so that it doesn't matter whether words get chopped in half and the original document was written on MS Word for Koreans (and has Korean fonts and things like that).
But the person who sent me the original document is not available and besides can't speak English so I can't ask her about this.
It might not have anything to do with macros. I remember vaguely a while ago I had the same problem and I fixed it using some simple measure but I can't remember what I did.
I browsed the web looking for solutions but have not found any.

I am making these lists using the list function in Word as well as the indenting function. I don't have a choice as the document already came with these lists.
So I think this is a bug in MS Word because the words don't get chopped in half when the lists are a certain way but they do get chopped when the lists are in another way.

Mail is 44% of the battery - I get about 300 emails through MSexchange and 25 through hotmail and .25 from cogeco.
Home & Lock Screen is 19%

Is there a bug in mail or is it just too much volume?

I see the same thing after upgrading to ios8 on my iphone 4S.
In my case, Mail is 76% of my activity. Disabling my mail accounts allows me to go back to my once a day charging routine. Otherwise, my battery runs down from 100% to 9% in 3.5 hours. I have two mail accounts. One exchange based the other is gmail.

Could be a bad inverter cable, that's a classic symptom.
