Help for mock web service (service skeleton and unmarshalling)

Hi,
I need to create mock web service in which I want to read soap/xml responses from my hard drive and send it to web service client. The responses would differ based on some input parameter. (small business logic in mock service)
Till now, I created my mock service skeleton from Axis and used JAXB (JWSDP) to unmarshall xml to java objects. But problem is we can not cast object unmarshalled by JAXB into response object created by Axis. And so can not return those objects as response.
So, I want to know if I can use JWSDP or Metro to solve this problem. Will JWSDP or Metro solve my problem if I use it to create service skeleton as well as for unmarshalling?
If this is not possible, can you please suggest any viable alternative?
Regards,
Suraj

SOAP-UI can provide only one static soap response.Incorrect. Look at the [top 3 reasons|http://www.soapui.org/gettingstarted/mocking.html] from soap-ui. You can use Groovy to add the dynamic functionality in your simulated web service.
And if you don't have the WSDL and you want to simulate the web service. You can use the article [web service simulation using servlet |http://today.java.net/article/2010/02/16/web-service-simulation-using-servlets] to build your own simulator.

  • Script example trigger web service call and populate request from adobe

    Hello,
    I'm trying to make a adobe interactive form that needs to be populated by a web service. I have one field : In the dataconnection that is the input for the web service request and this is bound to the request. I have a button that is connected to my web service. After filling in a new value and pushing the button I want the web service request to be triggered.
    Thus anyone has a coding example or more information about using web services directly from within a Adobe Interactive form ?
    thnx, Jasper

    Hi Jasper,
    You may refer the Adobe ddevelopment center for the docs related to the execute property of the button to trigger a web service.
    <i>Alternatively, if you do not want to create a button to execute a call to a Web Service, you can do it via Script.
    Assuming your Data Connection is named ‘LeasePayment’
    For JavaScript:
    xfa.connectionSet.LeasePayment.execute(0);
    For Form Calc:
    $connectionSet.LeasePayment.execute(0);
    execute(0) indicates no data merging
    execute(1) indicates all the data in the data DOM will be remerged.</i> - Adobe doc.
    hope this will help.
    Thanks andRegards,

  • Oracle Web Services Manager and Stateful Services

    Hi,
    I was wondering if anybody could help or provide guidance on stateful web services and the OWSM.
    I've registered a stateful web service with the OWSM. I also selected the "Keep-Alive" option as well, but this prob. doesn't pertain to stateful web services. But it doesn't seem to register the fact that its a stateful web service. When I call it, I have a packet analyzer that looks at the TCP trace and no Session id is sent back in the headers on the client side, which is on a separate box. Obviously, running it directly with Java and Axis works fine.
    We are using a gateway for the OWSM, not an agent. The web service is successful in getting called through OWSM but the problem is that no session information is sent back to client so subsequent calls fail b/c the web service requires the state and what the previous call was. This web service is a .NET service and resides on a different server/box than the Oracle SOA suite.
    Are there any tutorials/information out there that would tell me how to register a stateful web service with the OWSM? Eventually we'd like to connect the OWSM to an ESB and that would require it to be stateful as well obviously.
    Thanks again,
    Nathan

    On OTN, documentation library. Search for Oracle Web Service Manager and there you will see the Extensibility Guide.

  • Entering values in Web Services ID and Description, for External Catalog

    Hi,
    I am trying to connect to an external Vendor Catalog from ERP. Pl note that we just have ERP ECC 6.0 and no SRM. I went to SPRO and followed menu path 'Materials Management >> Purchasing >> Web Services: ID and Description'. I am not sure what to enter in 1) Seq. Number  2) Name of Parameter for Web Service and 3) Call Structure COLUMNS.
    I have URL from Vendor, User Name and Password. I need to know what values are mandatory here so I can successfully connect to external Catalog. If someone can give me sample values, I can try.
    Any help is appreciated,
    Niranjan

    Update on 08/23/2011.
    We are able to connect to Vendor Catalog, select items in Cart. When I press 'Place Order' button, I see all items populated in SAP PO ME21N screen. We can then add other information and create PO. This is working great. We have another question. Heard that with ERP ECC 6.0, we can only connect 1 vendor catalog. But with SRM, we can connect more than  1 vendor catalog. Is there a BAPI or change SAP code to connect more than 1 vendor catalog from ECC 6.0 ?

  • OWSM and Webservices -Define policies once for multiple web services

    I thought that through using OWSM we had the possibility to use the same Policy Lines for multiple web services.
    Mostly when web services are used/integrated within an application, the same rules need to be defined and I thought this requirement could be met when using OWSM.
    But you need to define the policy requirements on each web service that's passing through a gateway or agent, why isn't it supported to define policy lines one level higher to be able to use the same requirements for multiple web services?

    Nathalie,
    For this purpose OWSM allows you to use Template Policy Pipelines.
    For individual services, you can than replace the pipeline with the Template.
    But I have to agree with you here: the templating functions are rough on the edges, e.g. limited editing capabilities.
    Hope this helps.

  • Question about MBeans for web service metrics and configuration

    Hi,
    I'm new to JMX and trying to figure out how to create a MBean structure that captures a tree similar to the following for some web services I'm working on. All the operations will have the same set of metrics I'm collecting, so I'd like to reuse as much of the MBean structure as possible. In addition, the service will have various config parameters that need to be able to be modified during runtime via JMX. Below is an example of something similar to what I'd like to be able to do:
    user
    +-com.example.ws.CalculatorService
      +-Attributes
        +-ServiceName
        +-ServiceVersion
        +ServiceConfigParam1
        +ServiceConfigParam2
      +Operations
        +-SetServiceConfigParam1()
        +-SetServiceConfigParam2()
      +-AddOperationMethod
        +-Attributes
          +-RequestCounter
          +-ResponseCounter
        +-Operations
          +-ResetAllCounters()
          +-ResetRequestCounter()
          +-ResetResponseCounter()
      +-SubtractOperationMethod
        +Attributes
          +-RequestCounter
          +-ResponseCounter
        +-Operations
          +-ResetAllCounters()
          +-ResetRequestCounter()
          +-ResetResponseCounter()Where the counters are a variety of metrics to collect for each web service operation. Is there a standard/commonly accepted way to implement this? What type of MBean is best suited, standard, or do I need to use dynamic MBeans? Thank you for any pointers to useful references.
    /Paul Kuykendall

    I ended up finding the answer after more digging. The page [http://java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/J2SE/mxbeans|http://java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/J2SE/mxbeans] had a section about handling inter-MXBean references that turned out to be exactly what I was looking for.
    This reply is just to help anyone else that stumbles through with a similar problem to mine and point them in the right direction.

    yes, that's the only decent book covering most of the exam curiculum (but NOT all of it, check the exam specs versus the book content to know what you are missing).
    I'm working on the same material, and boy is it a lot...
    Dry, boring stuff most of it.

  • Web service proxy and data control are not working properly

    Hi,
    I am working on jDeveloper 11.1.1.6
    I have a SOA web service which requires 3 inputs and return with a set of data.
    When I tried testing that web service in soapUI it is working perfect. But when I have created a web service proxy in my application and trying to test it from class (*******_ptClient) main method everytime it is replying with the output null
    Also When I am requesting from the main method SOA is getting proper input (which I am providing in the main method) and SOA is returning proper output I have checked the SOA instance in em. So there is no problem in SOA side.
    After that I have created web service data control and tested in that case also it is not showing any result.
    What could be the problem ?
    Please help.
    Thanks

    Hi Shay Shmeltzer,
    Thanks for the reply.
    I tried in HTTP Analyzer in JDeveloper and there also it is not working. My concern is :-
    There are many other web services deployed on the same SOA server in same partition and they are working fine in HTTP analyzer and I am able to create and use the web service proxy as well. So as per my understanding there is nothing like network issues between SOA server and jDeveloper.
    1 more thing When I am creating the proxy for this web service and requesting from the proxy's main method SOA is getting proper input (which I am providing in the main method) and SOA is returning proper output I have checked the SOA instance in em. • External Web Service - User and password in HTTP header

    Hi!
    How is it possible to add user and password in the HTTP header in a external web service call?
    I have created a "Portal Service from WSDL file - Client side" with the wizard in SAP Developer Studio.  I following the Java Development Guide - Web Service Security, and use the <i>secured service connection</i>.  I have also created a new <i>System Landscape</i>, but should the new system be based on HTTP, my own PAR or what?
    How can I check that the user and password is added to the HTTP header or the SOAP envelope? Do I have to scan http traffic with a proxy as Paros or can I find the request sent from SAP EP in the logs?
    Cheers
    Asle

    Hello All,
    I have been struggling a bit while putting a reasonable security framework on a jax-rpc style web service. I'm using JWSDP1.2 to set up the webservice. I've tried to outline my problem below. Please correct me where I'm wrong.
    I've been through the Sun's WS tutorials, but they are not really clear on security. However, from them I surmised that there are two decent authentication techniques. HTTP Basic and mutual authentication (MA) . Both have their drawbacks though. HTTP Basic suffers from poor encryption while MA is a bit difficult to set up on both client and server sides. Another problem with MA is that there is no central repository for users/passwords.
    OK, what I would really like to do is use my own user database to verify users/passwords i.e. use a HTTP Basic like authentication (but at application level) but run it over SSL for encryption. It seems simple, but is it possible?
    Also, I have noted that when I use HTTP Basic on the service side, and use a java client, then setting username/password has no effect. In other words, I can always access the web-service, even with wrong username/password.
    Sorry for the long post. Hope someone can help. Thanks.

  • Mapping input values for a web service connection to a range of cells

    I've created a web service connection in Xcelsius data manager. My web service requires an array of integer as input parameter. How do I map input values for a web service connection to read from a range of cells in the spreadsheet, e.g. $A$2:$A$20, in similar way of mapping output values to write to a range of cells in the spreadsheet?
    For output values of the web service, I can specify to map the output values to write to a range of cells. However, it doesn't seem to work for reading the input values.
    I can map input values for each node to a single cell, e.g. $A$2, in the spreadsheet. However, when I set the "Read From" field to a range of cells, e.g. $A$2:$A$20, it only reads in the first value in the range.
    Is there any way that we can do this mapping for input values as we do for output values?
    Your assistance is very much appreciated.
    Regards,
    Van

    Van,
    There is a workaround for that...
    Example:
    My Webservice accepts input data range in a specific format with " :" symbol, i.e. 072008:082008
    Now what i do is
    A1 = 072008
    A2 = 082008
    A3 = CONCATENATE(A1,":",A2)
    so A3 = 072008:082008
    Now i map the input value in web service to cell A3
    P.S have 2 input box components and map it to cells A1 and A2, i.e you are giving users an  option to enter the range of values...then web service will capture the range and refreshes data with the range of values user entered.
    hope this helps..

         ... 30 moreI've looked onliine to try to solve this issue, and it seemed that the answer was the add the certificate to the keystore. I had a lot of issues doing this, due to the certificate being a .pfx file. However, using the following, I was able to do it:
    keytool -importkeystore -srckeystore "sandpit.pfx" -destkeystore "%JAVA_HOME2%\lib\security\cacerts" -srcstoretype pkcs12 -deststoretype jks -srcstorepass password -deststorepass anotherpassword -vHowever, I am still getting the same error. This may be because this isn't the keystore used, but it is located in the area marked as being used in the build path.
    I then looked further, and found that I may need to add:
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStore","myKeystore");
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStorePassword","myPassword");altering where appropriate. But this didn't work, and I'm thinking that this would involve a lot more code than just those two lines.
    I'm just not sure what to do, and am hoping someone can help. I didn't think it would be too big an issue to ensure my program used the certificate, but it seems to be. I thought that once it was added to the keystore, that would be it, but it appears not.
    I'm sure this isn't a rare issue, but I just lack the knowledge to make any headway. Please can someone help or point me in the right direction?
    Thank you very much in advance.
    Robin

    Sorry to bother you again with my request but I would appreciate some help with my problems.

  • WSDL / Web Service Skeleton Generation Tool

    Hello,
    My name is Joe Roberts. I am a developer in the Oracle Insurance Global Business Unit, a recent Oracle acquisition. I currently have the need to create a web service based on a schema that has certain base fields that never change and certain other base fields that do change based upon each customer implementation. What I am looking for is a tool that will generate a WSDL and web service skeleton code from a schema from the command line so that I can automate this process. Does Oracle offer such a tool? I have looked for one but have not found it. The only tool that I have been able to find that does this is Spring-WS but I would rather not use Spring-WS and go with an Oracle solution if possible.
    Thanks,
    Joe
