Script example trigger web service call and populate request from adobe

Hello,
I'm trying to make a adobe interactive form that needs to be populated by a web service. I have one field : In the dataconnection that is the input for the web service request and this is bound to the request. I have a button that is connected to my web service. After filling in a new value and pushing the button I want the web service request to be triggered.
Thus anyone has a coding example or more information about using web services directly from within a Adobe Interactive form ?
thnx, Jasper

Hi Jasper,
You may refer the Adobe ddevelopment center for the docs related to the execute property of the button to trigger a web service.
<i>Alternatively, if you do not want to create a button to execute a call to a Web Service, you can do it via Script.
Assuming your Data Connection is named ‘LeasePayment’
For JavaScript:
xfa.connectionSet.LeasePayment.execute(0);
For Form Calc:
$connectionSet.LeasePayment.execute(0);
execute(0) indicates no data merging
execute(1) indicates all the data in the data DOM will be remerged.</i> - Adobe doc.
hope this will help.
Thanks andRegards,
Anto.

  • Web service call and page fowarding

I just started with HTML DB. I have a customer that requires the use of HTML DB for there standard look and feel, since they are using it for other applications.
I need to use HTML DB to create a front end that is backed by either EJBs or Web services that front the EBJs, to create a single application. I can not go directly to the DB since there is to much business logic contained in the EJBs that I would be circumventing. I dont think this is a good use of tech. from either side (J2EE or HTML DB) but I did not make the decision.
I have not seen integration with EJBs addressed (if you know of any please speak up), so I was happy to see that web services are supported.
    So....
I have been able to call a webservice and get a result. I need to be able to format the result and create buttons based on the results returned by the web services. These buttons will call other pages that may or may not call additional webservices. In addition, I need to pass values in the web services response to pages called by the buttons generated. Any and all help would be appreciated.
Also does the syntax for #somethine# and &someone get evaluated if used in the XSL that renders the webservice response?

Please disregard my "additional information" post to this
item. I posted it here by mistake!

  • Safe to retry Flex Web Service calls on HTTP request failures?

I'm using Flex's web services layer to make SOAP calls to a back-end server. Once in a while, those calls fail with a generic RPC fault that looks like this:
    faultString="HTTP request error"
    faultCode="Server.Error.Request"
    faultDetail="Error #2032: Stream Error..."
When this happens, is it safe to assume that the server didn't get the message and retry an otherwise non-idempotent request?

    Anyone have any ideas?

A Legacy system  would  transfer some data to SAP thoruhg a Web Service call and  would expect a response from SAP by way of a response to the same Web service call
A synchronous Interface , inbound to sap via a Web service call and back  to the legacy system through the response to the same Web Service .
Need to provide WSDL to the Legacy system
Any help on how to do the above mentioned will be apreciated
    thanks in advance

    SD,
Check this weblog for step by step procedure:

Here instead of deploying in XI you will deploy your webservice in the legacy system.

  • How to see http response from an axis web service call (Eclipse)

    Hello,
I would like to see the raw http response which is returned from web service calls. I have a dynamic web project in Eclipse which uses a local instance of Tomcat 6. I'm using all of the default setting for a top-down web service generated from a WSDL file. I've generated the client using the built-in "generate client" using default settings.
I've tried using the Eclipse plugin TCP/IP monitor and apache's TCPMON, but I am only able to see the http request, not the http response returned from the web server I am querying.
I've seen some sparse documentation outlining how to use logging handlers and a client-config.wsdd file, but I haven't been able to get that working.
So to recap, I'm looking for a way to view raw http responses using a web service client and server generated from a WSDL file in eclipse. I don't mind creating a new project using different code-generating libraries if someone has an easy way to do this using a different configuration.
    Thanks very much,
    Craig

A simple google query for "apache axis2 http response" also return this article:

And finally, you did go through the Axis2 website right? It has a wiki with a rather staggering amount of articles in there.

    Hi All,
We are making a <b>https web service call</b> using soap adapter from XI. Looking at the various posts and SAP help links, we are configuring SSL for the same.
The procedure given in SAP help has been followed to configure SSL but with no luck. If someone had done this could you please give a <b>step by step procedure</b> to configure SSL, we might have missed out on something.
Also are there are <b>any other settings apart from SSL</b> to be done to make a  https web service call using soap adapter from XI.

  • Multiple web service calls - Split message,1 WS call for each message

    Friends,
We have designed a BPM which will pick the files, make web service call and merge these message structures and map them to the target.
We have to modify this design as follows,
We have to split the message based on purchase order number, meaning one message for each order number and then we need to make a web service call for each of them, after we get all the responses we will merge the files using transformation. (merging files and transformation is already taken care, its the web service part which iam looking for)
Thanks in advance for all your help/ideas.

    Friends,
Can you please help me out with this logic? Thanks!

  • Web Service Options - Editing SOAP request Options

I am trying to invoke a Web Service using Adobe LiveCycle ->
    Foundation -> Web Service.
In the Web Service Options editor, while giving the SOAP request, I
would want to be able to manipulate the data I send in the SOAP
    request.
For example, I have a input Request XML which is in process_data [and
which is the incoming request from Flex]. I am reading data from that
XML and setting it to a corresponding tag in the SOAP request. I want
to be able to have this feature wherein I dont include a tag at all in
the SOAP request of I see that the corresponding tag in Request XML is
    empty.
So if there is a  tag in Request [empty tag], I dont
want to include the ContactName tag at all in the SOAP request.
Meaning, I dont want to send an empty tag or a tag with NULL value. I
want to delete that tag altogether in the SOAP request.
Any ideas how I can go about this?
    Thanks!

You can try making the whole SOAP Request a varibale of type XML. Then use a setValue before the web service call and built it the way you want.

  • Error reporting with web service call

    Hi Experts,
We have a unique requirement of logging errors or exceptions throughout the message lifecycle to a Logging System via a web service call.
If error occur during message processing, is there any way to trigger an error message from every step of message pipeline which will invoke a web service ?
Please share your views on it.
We are using PI7.3 Java only stack.

    Hi
You  can try using a try/catch block in your UDF and  write the logging lookup logic in catch block.
It can catch some exceptions(For example response message parsing). Just give a try.
And let me know the result.

    - What API should I import in my project ? I use Maven can I found this API on Maven repository ?
    - I would like have an sample of code which initialize the ReportingService, do the call and process result.
We use the SQL Server ReportingService 2008 R2 and currently we made HTTP call like this : http://<ssr_server>/ReportServer/Pages/ReportViewer.aspx?%2fSSRS_OMB%2fMyReport&rs:Command=Render&MyParam=<value>
    Regards

    Hi ombinte,
SQL Server Reporting Services provides access to the full functionality of the report server through the Report Server Web service. Because the Report Server Web service is an XML Web service which uses Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) over Hypertext Transfer
Protocol (HTTP), any SOAP-aware application or development tool can communicate with the SSRS web service.
There are three primary ways to develop Reporting Services applications based on the Web service, please see:
Develop applications using Microsoft Visual Studio and the Microsoft .NET Framework SDK.
Develop applications using the rs utility (RS.exe), the Reporting Services script environment.
Develop applications using any SOAP-enabled set of development tools.
For more information about Report Server Web Service, you can refer to the following document:

I've tried "addSimpleHeader" and "addHeader", but both seem
to inject nested xml elements. Can anyone help me shape this WS
call into the format I need it in? Would it be possible to call
this WS manually via a direct HTTP post from Flex 2?
    Thanks!,
    Sean

    Yeah,
Hey guys - thanks for the responses. I looked into this and
it seems no one uses WS-Security from the browser. That's why even
Google's APIs use alternative key logins, etc. I read from one user
that in the next version of Microsoft's AJAX platform that they
might support it, but that's about it. For now, it looks like
there's not even an AJAX/Javascript way to do this. If we could do
it via Javascript, then we could use the FABridge. I don't think
Flex supports it. I've tried to manipulate the headers into place
via Flex classes and I don't think enough control is there to get
the output in the form that's needed.
I think it's possible to write it in Javascript. But right
now my time budget just doesn't allow for it. I already spent two
whole days re-writing how Flex makes Web Service calls so they're
synchronous with timeouts instead of this massive amount of
asynchronous code they want you to write, so no more
re-writing/extending of components for me for a while.
But if anyone wants to work together to support it via
AJAX/Javascript, I would invest money into developing it.
    I would like a public WS-Security AJAX/Javascript framework
for making these calls via WS-Security so I can offer customers a
standard way of accessing/authenticating against our public API
set. It would also make it possible for Flex to access standard web
    services with WS-Security enabled.
Let me know what you guys think, or if anyone else has any
    good suggestions/software.
    Thanks much,
    S.

  • Setting the attachment name in web service call scheduleReport

    Hi there,
I searched the forum for this, found lots of threads but no useful solution...

  • Newscale Custom Code - AJAX Libraries - Web Service calls during ordering moment

Authentication issues calling webservice that requires credentials to be passed. NTLM authentication. Web service we are calling works from Service Link with HTTPIWA2 adapter. This is on Windows environment. When in the ordering moment, i am being presented with a popup box asking for credentials.
We are implementing a custom Newscale solution for Web Service calls during the ordering moment. I've installed and got the basic example working on our Windows based system. However, I'm trying to implement a more complex web service call that includes supplying credentials- domain userid password encrypted in the xdsproperties file. The web service we are calling has been successfully called by the service link HTTPIWA2 adapter, and independently using SOAP Sonar, so i don't feel the problem is with the web service.
We are on a windows based server and the web service we are calling is on windows as well. In the ordering moment the web service is being called, but I'm being presented with popups asking for credentials for the server that Request Center is on.
Has anyone successfully used this AJAX solution calling a web service using NTLM authentication?  I'd like to compare configurations to see what is missing. You can email me directly at [email protected]  Newscale PSG is on the case, but i was hoping to touch base with any other customers currently using this.
    thanks!

A newer version of the Configuration Manager Client is installed. Cannot continue installing this version of the management point.
Action ended 20:50:23: SmsDetectColocationDowngrade. Return value 3.
Action ended 20:50:23: INSTALL. Return value 3.
The installer certainly thinks that you still have a previous ConfigMgr client installed. Perhaps you haven't completely removed it. Use ccmclean.exe from the SMS 2003 tool kit.
If that fails, why not just rebuild the server - you've said that this is a fresh install. I don't like too much messing at the beginning. This can be difficult enough - you need to start with a clean installation of the product.

  • Initiating BPM Process Instances from External Web Service Call

I'm attempting to update the HelloWorld example so that I can create an instance of the process from an External Web Services Call rather than via the Workspace. Our current SOA Architecture is configured so that all BPM instances are managed through a .NET SmartClient via the Service Bus and the use of PAPI W/S and so I'm wishing to recreate this capability in the new BPM.
I understand the replacement for PAPI W/S is Human Workflow so I've therefore updated and republished the HelloWorld Example with an Exposed 'TaskService' Service for the Human Task within the BPM Process.
I've then attempted to reference the TaskService through our existing BPM, and have been able to import a number of generic WSDL's as follows:
    Task Service
    http://vmaquatestapp2:7001/integration/services/TaskService/TaskServicePort?WSDL
    Task Metadata Service
    http://vmaquatestapp2:7001/integration/services/TaskMetadataService/TaskMetadataServicePort?WSDL
    Task Query Service
    http://vmaquatestapp2:7001/integration/services/TaskQueryService/TaskQueryService?WSDL
When I examine the available operations for these generic services, there are quite a lot, each of which have a fairly complex schema. I believe I should be using the TaskService: InitiateTask Operation to create an instance of my BPM Process but my questions are:
    - Is the above the correct method of interacting with BPM Instances from an external system such as the Service Bus?
    - Does anyone have any examples of a basic XML payload that would initiate a process instance?

I created an process with a message start event and can call it from an external web service call. I can also pass input arguments and map those to process data objects. However I can not find how to return data as response to the external web service call as e.g. the process instance id.
    Is it possible to this?
