i don't want my program to read the gif each time from the file, but only once.
so i load it into an image or something?
cuz opening the gif 20 times from my hard disk is a lot of time loss....

can i put 2 applets in eachother? like applet1 is the parent of applet2?
or should i use something else?

in delphi i just used 2 forms, form 1 with the blocks, form2 with the rest of info, and also being the parent of form1

Want to trigger an event in Javascript using Actionscript

Hello forum,
I am trying to trigger an event in Javascript from an SWF. In HTML the triggering event is this:
<a href="#" onclick="return GB_showFullScreenSet(page_setWEB1, 1)"><img src="images/Thumbnails/IMAGE-NAME.jpg" /><br />Link Label</a>
This line trggers a pop-up style portfolio image slideshow. I am trying to figure out how to trigger this event from actionscript. I am not sure what this would even be called so any help would be great.

The communication works both ways. Here's the description from that page.
"From ActionScript, you can call any JavaScript function on the HTML page. It passes any number of arguments of any data type, and receives a return value from the call.
From JavaScript on the HTML page, you can call an ActionScript function in Flash Player. The ActionScript function can return a value. JavaScript receives it immediately as the return value of the call."
It can be a bit confusing to implement, so you might want to search for other examples/tutorials if you can't get it working from the one linked already.

Don't want to trigger alert in mapping failure

Hi Experts,
I have defined one alert category and corresponding rule in RWB to trigger alert for any failure like Receiver determination error, mapping error etc for all interfaces like Create order, cost center, shipments etc.
I have done complete configuration and getting alerts email in mail box if any interface fails with any reason.
But, Now, I came up with requirement that for one particular interface the alert should not trigger for mapping failure only and other interface should also not affect.
Need your help to configure the same.

the solution achived by defining as suggested.
u2022 Created alert rule for interface specific with u201CNo Restrictionu201D to handle all types of error instead of one generic rule to handle all interfaces.
u2022 Created Multiple Rules ( Like Receiver determination error, IDOC Adapter errors etc) instead of "No Restriction" for required interface to handle errors excluding mapping error. It had sucessfully suppressed the alerts only if u201Cmapping Erroru201D occurs.

Help - I DON'T want iTunes to run on all XP profiles

I couldn't find this topic addressed before, so here goes:
I've set up 2 profiles on XP and I'd like one of them to be as bare-bones as possible. Is there any way to disable iTunes on one of my profiles? I can't find any place in the Preferences section to do this and XP doesn't seem to be any help either.
Any ideas would be welcome!

If you want all remnants of itunes gone in the one profile, that is going to take some time for research and registry editing.
As a start, you could move itunes out of this All Users folder and put it into just the user folder that you want to have itunes.
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs

Firefox is now closing unexpectedly shortly after I open it. There is not even enough time to click on help, then disable ad-ons. I also don't receive any error messages. It just closes after a few seconds. Help! Don't want to use other browsers.

I think in the circumstances, an uninstall/reinstall is called for. Please follow these instructions.
Go to [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/fx/?ref=logo Download Firefox 4.0] and download a fresh installation file using IE8 or 9 and choose to save it to your desktop when you see the prompt.
Then go to Add/Remove Programs, scroll down to '''Mozilla Firefox '''and remove it, choosing to keep your bookmarks, customizations etc., (don't checkmark the box).
Then reboot and delete the folder called '''Mozilla Firefox '''at this location: ''C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox''
Finally run the installation file you downloaded to the desktop earlier.
Your bookmarks, customizations etc., are maintained in a different location and will become available to you again once you complete the installation.

I need some advice on replacing my ipod touch 4th generation screen. The silver plate won't go back into it's original place and i can't put the screws back in. I really need help i don't want my ipod to be broken!!!

Your best bet is to email the company that sold you the screen for advice. Or you could search on YouTube for repair instructions. Hopefully, you will see where you went wrong. Apple will not do an out-of-warranty replacement on an iPod that has been opened.

HT1386 unable to sync my ipad2 receive an error message 1140 (unknown error) HELP..don't want to have to go to the apple store to be able to sync my ipad to my desktop !!

For some unknown reason, I am unable to sync my ipad2 with my desktop. I receive a message saying it cannot sync due to an unknown error 1140.
Hate to have to run to the apple store to get this resolved...hope someone here knows the answer !! I need to sync !!

My guess is that since the large iPhoto library will not fit on your iOS device, iTunes throws the 1140 error.
As others have noted, if you uncheck "Sync Photos" in iTunes, the rest of things will sync instead of throwing the 1140 error message.
But you don't have synced photos then.

HELP! Don't Want Headaches!

I use a Canon FS200 and (maybe) a Canon SureShot. I realized thatto use these video clips in Final Cut Express 4, I have to use MPEG Streamclip to convert the videos into two different formats. DV-PAL for the video and Quicktime DV-NTSC for the audio for approximately 50 clips for my usual projects. I then have to make sure my In and Out points are in the same place for each feed (for lack of a better word) and put in the audio, Option-Shift delete the video part, de-select A1 and A2 and then Superimpose the video into the Timeline. I then have to crop the video, because I get a flickering black bar at the top when I view it in the Canvas.
Does anyone know a way around this or a way to combine the audio and video before editing to make it easier?

OK, anyway if you shoot in 4:3 drag the file to MPEG Streamclip and go to the menu File > export to Quicktime.
When the settings window opens, change the compression to Apple DV/DVCPRO -NTSC and the other options like this:

if you are shooting widescreen 16:9 then click the options button next to the Compression and set it for 16:9.
Click on Make Movie.
Open up FCE. Go to the menu Final Cut Express > Easy Setup and choose DV-NTSC.
This will not affect any of your existing projects - only new ones. Create a new project and import the file you converted from MPEG Steamclip. You should be able to move it to the timeline and play back without rendering audio and video.

I cannot print web pages. Tried printing with IE and it worked, so this is Firefox-specific. I will have to stop using it unless someone can help me figure out why it won't let me print a web page. Help! Don't want to go back to IE!

Try to create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.

Don't want random keyboard & mouse events to wake from sleep

is there any way to prevent a random keyboard press or mouse movement from waking up the computer? a terminal setting or something? ideally, i'd just like to use the power button to do this--or at the very least to completely disable the mouse's ability to wake the machine, and specify a certain key or something.
seems like an obvious setting that's missing...or that i'm overlooking...?

If it's a BlueTooth mouse you can uncheck the option in the Keyboard & Mouse preferences.

If I don't want or need an 'event'....

Is there any way to load photos directly from my camera into the photo library without having an event automatically created for them?
I have many pictures for which the concept of an event is irrelevant and I would like to be able to choose which of them are grouped into an event and which are not.

In a word, No.
But it really doesn't matter. On the left hand pane of iPhoto there's the word 'Photos' and that's a view of the self-same library not broken into Events.
Now you can customise that as you wish - Check out the View Menu for more.
In more detail: simply, Events are just a word. They're just Folders with a fancy icon. You can move pics between Events, consolidate events rename them etc etc, just like any folder. BUt every pic is in one of these folders somewhere. They're the basic building block of the Library.
Other than that, of course, for real flexibility, keywording and Albums offer pretty much unlimited flexibility in organising your Photos.

Is there any way to change the feed in itunes? The only feed I have now is http://feeds.feedburner.com/CasaEgyptStation
I tried to restore the feed http://feeds.feedburner.com/imananddinasbroadcast but feedburner refused.
I know that I missed things up but I still have hope in working things out.

Once it finishes, you can go back into iTunes and unselect sync music, resync the phone and it will remove the music. You can then select certain tracks or playlists if you want.
